1 check in e de sk so had to wait a long time to check in. Room dirty and poorly maintained. Bathroom layout very poor. Curtains no match for very bright external lights. Breakfast selection poor and was asked to move seats No one asked how my stay was when I checked out. JW Lees using my email to send unsolicited marketing emails despite advising I did not want to receive them.
The hotel is a very good optoon for a stay near Manchester Airport. It feels like the countryside, has excellent facilities and convenience and the staff are exceptionally obliging and pleasant
Clean room, spacious, friendly staff, breakfast was superb. Hardly no light came in thriugh the windows. Would definitely stay again
All good except when arriving at the room, the toilet had an awful smell of chemicals or detergent, so an unpleasant welcome at the room level, but at the check in stage the reception staff was very pleasant and friendly to ensure a good check-in process
One night stay - great location. Very nice people
Nice hotel, great breakfast.
Staff were generally pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, there was an unreasonable stand taken on our first night, when the”systems went down” and we could not put our meal bill on the room. Also, the TV never worked during our stay in spite of everyone seeming to know what was wrong with it. No-one came to fix it. The breakfast was OK but, at dinner, they had no prawns (it was on the menu) and the steak was the smallest I’d ever seen. We held our wedding reception here 55 years ago. It was a lot better then. All in all, disappointing.
This is a beautiful hotel, the staff are very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are spotless and very spacious. Lots of lovely little things left out for us on arrival, waters, biscuits etc.
Wedding anniversary. Staff very friendly.
Great shower- very powerful
Loved every bit of the stay apart from the room 404 not hanging blackout blinds do at 6am the sun was bursting through the curtains. Bed was comfy though.
Rooms are not sound proofed as described on your website
Staff very helpful especially when we arrived receptionist helped us with luggage also same young lady helped us load our car up .
Staff were very friendly The room was nicely decorated The bathroom was in need of some cleaning & repair. Lights above bathroom sink were loose, hanging down and flickered if touched not ideal above water/sink and the shower hose was unclean and riddled in mildew
Restaurant and bar is excellent with terrific food and service. Cobwebs in room, shower curtain in dated bathroom and tv didn’t work.
The staff were very attentive, rooms lovely , perhaps little paint touch up needed but that’s just being picky. Breakfast simply, yum . Lots of different options . I would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area
As soon as we stepped in to the property I was happy. The check in went very smoothly. Every member of staff we came across was friendly and helpful. Our room was small, but had everything we needed. I loved that we had bottled water, a choice of sparking or still. Also nice hot chocolate as well as tea and coffee. The beds were very comfy with nice pillows and they had very nice fluffy towels in the bathroom.I would definitely stay again
While the hotel generally was fine there was a problem upon checking-in. I had previously requested a twin bedded room which the hotel confirmed was available. Upon checking-in I asked if the allocated room had twin beds and received confirmation. However upon visiting the room it had a double bed. The hotel did move me, but the experience did little to build one's confidence.
Disappointed to see that the Tesla charging points had gone. Booked a Deluxe Room, which wasn’t a touch on a Standard Room. Whilst bigger, nothing else was deluxe. Very dated & tired & in need of an update & redecoration.
warm and cosy - great breakfast
Great location to attend a local event, well looked after my the staff during our visit
I liked that it had electric chargers
Great staff, and food. Easy to get to the airport which is great. We will be back.
The hotel was beautiful, the staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was amazing.
The property and staff where tidy and very helpful. The only bits i would say is the breakfast was a bit low on stuff ovdr cooked after only and hour, And was shower was great for pressure but the temperature kept going up without turning up the dial up.
J
Lovely hotel, good rooms and a well laid out bar/restaurant with the added outdoor space. It’s a shame that there was a mess up presenting our evening dinner, and breakfast was boarding on shambolic. We shall return, but may be miss out the breakfast .
The worst nights sleep, the walls are paper thin and we could hear the person next door coughing all night. People leaving their rooms were letting the doors slam. Our room was near the service yard and we had to listen to a he racket of the bins being emptied followed by a delivery from the brewery all first thing on a bank holiday morning.
Well located, service good, although only one on reception who was busy when I arrived do had to wait a while, but very welcoming when available. Room comfortable and clean. The deadlock to room 104 not able to engage properly as door misaligned. Also walls very thin, noisy Neighbour until late didn’t help with getting to sleep could even hear them snoring when they did.
Very poor service and shocking breakfast also room very expensive and window looking at brick wall
Very nice room. Staff were friendly and helpful. The proximity to the Manchester Airport made it a convenient stay as well.
Nice hotel and good breakfast. Just looks a bit tired in places (bedroom and bathroom) but all the communal areas are nice
Very comfortable bed. Staff friendly. Our room was down on the 1st floor by eye level with the car park. Carpets rather grubby in bedroom & corridor. Breakfast rather limited . Hot food rather dried up at 8am and fruit salad ran out. Asked for fresh eggs as others were dried up. Took about 30 mins to arrive after a lot of prompting. Evening meal was good. Staff friendly.
Nice hotel, lovelystaff
Absolutely love this boutique hotel. It not only has charming rooms but a fantastic restaurant with a lovely pub area. It's great if you want to go for a walk as there are several tree-lined streets. Would highly recommend if you are staying near the airport as you can take the airport relief Road. Have stayed here on numerous occasions
Very nice place to stay, clean, quiet and comfortable. The restaurant closed at 8:30pm which was a bit too early and we missed dinner.
Great location, really good sleep and the shower was incredible
We had a great stay. The breakfast and evening meal was good.
lovely stay before holiday from Manchester airport. we had a few drinks and sunday lunch which was delicious. really easy transfer to the airport
I like this hotel but it's a shame the prices on the menu have gone up so much, I understand that most things in life have gone up but I thought this was bit of a hike.
I stayed here before a flight from Manchester Airport with my nephew, the staff were very helpful and kind (organising taxi's and printing off Fastrack passes) and dinner was lovely, so we were very relaxed for our flight the following day. The beds were very comfortable too and David on reception was amazing. We will be back.
Staff were excellent. Friendly and attentive
had a fab time staff very helpful
Great place to stay for the night
Overall an amazing place to stay By far the largest room I’ve ever had in a hotel with its own corridor to room Lovely place First stayed here about 8 years ago and pleased to say it’s been even further improved My bathroom needs minor improvement, pin hole in shower feed pipe and minor blackened silicone of the freestanding bath. Overall a beautiful location just a shame about the weather as always
The staff were excellent. Breakfast on my first morning was very poor with most items unavailable. The room was very tired and in poor condition. Worst of all was there was no hot water for my morning shower, it came on just before I left the room. Always nice to start the day with a cold shower when it’s minus 3 outside. The photos on the website are not reflective of the real condition. The hotel is evidently being run with limited funds. Would not return and not recommend.
Superb staff all round Many thanks James
Superb hotel
I like this hotel, it's clean, nice staff, good food and I'd much rather stay here than an airport hotel.
Situated in the heart of Wilmslow, this English gem is conveniently close to the airport and provides easy access to the stunning Peak District and the historic Quarry Bank Mill. The picturesque surroundings offered a soothing backdrop to our stay, allowing moments of reflection and solace. From the warm welcome by the manager to the attentive staff, the hotel's English character was evident in every detail. The breakfast, with its array of options, was a delightful introduction to English cuisine, and the staff's friendliness added a personal touch to our mornings. For those seeking a touch of English hospitality amidst picturesque landscapes, we highly recommend StaneyLands Hotel—our heartfelt thanks to the entire staff for their kindness during our stay.
Nothing to dislike -- everything very good indeed. Definitely a return visit when we're next in the area!
Great place to stay, lovely rooms, nice atmosphere and friendly staff what more could you want.
Nice hotel, good food, friendly staff, near Manchester Airport.
We stay at the Stanneylands when we fly in and out of Manchester, either to / from the US, or the Continent. It allows us to get to / from the rental car village, Styal Village and The Ship Inn, and the wonderful full English Breakfast they offer in the mornings
Your employees have to be the kindest people I ever met. ‘Arriving after an overnight flight, I was very tired. They made me so welcome and treated me with the greatest care and kindness. Thank you.
I like this hotel and always stay here when in the area, much better than the airport hotels, good food and pleasant staff.
Severely understaffed/ no visible leadership. Service chaotic - but not team’s fault. No one was leading. Felt sorry for the team at breakfast service. Shame as it’s a nice space otgerwise
Arrived early and room made available, great service.
Very nice hotel, I will be staying here again.
Lovely clean hotel.
I really enjoyed my stay here, a beautiful location, lovely staff, gorgeous rooms and great food!
Wonderful hotel, bar, and restaurant though we didn't use the latter due to an early flight out. We will certainly stay again on our next pass through Manchester airport.
Always fantastic service, clean and comfortable
Liked the friendliness of staff, good upgrading. Lovely evening meal. Shame the lake not accessible - we had our wedding pics down there 37yrs ago! Oak-panelled room much smaller than it used to be :( Our 1st night bedroom not a patch on what it was then - now two rooms - (shame). Breakfast - satisfactory. Overall - Still love it! Thank you.
The Hotel was nice overall, but i was very disappointed to be half naked in my room getting ready for a shower, and a female resident who had just arrived entering my room. She too had been given the key to room 215. Both of us were very embarrassed, with very little apologies coming from the hotel staff.
Very warm and comfortable pleasant surroundings. Lovely comfortable beds
Beautiful building with lovely, spacious, clean rooms. Beautiful bedding! Friendly, attentive staff. Cooked breakfast was delicious, but continental selection lacking freah fruit and no fruit juices. Has to ask specifically for juices abd also for toast. No preserves or marmitr/ spreads available.
The Stanneylands was a very quiet, comfortable hotel considering its vicinity to Manchester airport. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional. The on site restaurant was lovely and the food was excellent. Again, the staff were lovely.
Nice hotel, good food, pleasant staff, ideal place for me to stay when I have to visit the office near the airport, which is just a short drive away.
The staff were pleasant and accommodating. The room was clean and well laid out. The restaurant options were good although breakfast service could be improved.
Hotel is a lovely period property with a great bar and restaurant, friendly staff and well equipped, comfortable rooms. On the night we stayed there was live music and a 20% locals discount on food which definitely enhanced our experience.
Clean room, well equipped, very comfortable bed. Room was just to warm even with both portable air con machines on
Stayed here a few times. Very nice hotel. Good staff. Nice bar. Best hotel in Wilmslow but not close to town. I agree they can’t cook eggs.
Easy parking and I could charge my car free of charge which was extremely helpful. In fact that is why I chose the hotel and why I will continue to do so. Everything else was great too. Power shower which I really appreciate also.
Staff were very inexperienced and service was slow, often orders forgotten. No orange juice available for breakfast??
Nice Hotel, good food, short drive to airport, I always stay here when in the area.
Minutes away from Manchester airport, perfect location & hotel for our overnight trip. Staff really friendly & super helpful. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Staff attentive, food great,very clean.
Good large bed but room and parts of the hotel are dated and in need up upgrading. Breakfast not good
Very nice hotel. Our stay was short so next time would like to experience the bar and restaurant.
Beautiful building, excellent service, good spec room, all staff very well trained.
Have stayed here before and Stanneylands is always our preferred option
Hotel is walkable to both Wilmslow and Handforth. Room was comfortable. It was a good stopping off point on my way to Stretford / Sale. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had not been to the hotel for 20+ years.
Nice ambience despite the lack of residents due to the latest pandemic scares. Stayed for business and will use again. The Stannylands need to market the hotel more, as without Hotels.com I wouldn’t of known of it.
It was a comfortable place to stay safe and close to or destination only drawback was breakfast finishing at 9.00am
Beautiful place with very friendly staff
Nice hotel recovering from lockdown, so the menu limited, but food was good. Warm and very welcoming with nothing being too much trouble i'd stay again
It is a nice welcoming hotel. Room size was generous. Rooms clean and comfortable. Some discoloration on ceiling around bathroom air vent/fan. Breakfast okay. Toaster takes a long time and requires either waiting on a queue, or revisiting the toaster later. Food not replenished quickly enough, as ran out of fried eggs at the self service buffet table. I'm sure if I had wanted eggs they would have got some for me.
Room was small and walls were thin! I could here on one side the guest coughing and on the other talking on the phone. I wasnt aware when I booked that there was no restaurant. I am aware it was on the site but I didnt see it.
Wonderful stay
The walls are very thin, we can hear people closing the doors early in the morning and at night! Couldn't sleep well! Towels are not washed thoroughly!
The room was filthy, multiple coffee stains on the carpet, rubbish and chocolate under the bed, stood on a bottle top which was on the floor, doesn’t think they actually cleaned the room. Considering COVID this hotel should not be open to paying guests because of the lack of proper housekeeping. We were at a family wedding so didn’t have time to complain or get a different room, we returned in the early hours. Breakfast was not freshly made, had better in small B & B at a 3rd of the price. Considering the location I don’t know how they are still in business. Breakfast chairs had white stains and not a good look when you are eating
It was amazing, staff amazing, room great any issues sorted no problem, great location
Lovely hotel with friendly staff. We went for a wedding and stayed in the hotel, which worked well. Lovely food at the reception and at breakfast. Comfy bed, room a little hot but the window opened which is always a bonus these days.
Nice room, comfy bed & pillows, good coffee in the room. I have stayed here before and will stay again. Oh and good food as well...
From arriving at the property to leaving I received an outstanding level of customer service. The food for the evening meal was good quality and amazing value.
Very well kept hotel, staff were welcoming and pleasant. Breakfast was good. Huge comfy bed. Room was quite warm so the fan was much appreciated
The stay was for a 1night stopover & the hotel was in good countryside. The staff were all friendly & helpful & managing the covid protocols. The resturant had a good choice & prepared well. The breakfast was excellant.
Beautiful old house, well converted for hotel use. A friendly but not overpowering welcome from the staff. Excellent restaurant menu and a very enjoyable evening meal.
Receptionist when there was at times lovely then at times a tad grumpy. Bar and restaurant area and day staff there absolutely lovely however my colleague sat down and leant his arms onto a sticky table from drinks the night before. Covid-19 clean, don't think so. Rooms,I was checked into a room that wasn't cleaned yet, mistakes happen. The rooms whilst dated they have character - it's a shame they aren't cleaned well anymore. I had dirty glasses with previous guests mouth marks, just gross. A colleague had a bath full of curly 'body' hairs and the receptionist really wasn't bothered. It actually put us off eating an evening meal there so we went out. When we came back the evening bar staff fella got right in our faces to the point I had to walk away. He had a mask under his chin (Covid-19 safe, no) and was telling us some really inappropriate jokes, I love banter and love comedy - but wow - I actually thought he was a drunk guest not hotel staff. As a work team my colleagues had used Stanneylands a lot - yes the rooms are tired but who cares the restaurant was great. Unfortunately now it's gone past that, it's quite unwelcoming and dirty. Such a shame. I fully understand we are in really difficult times, but being clean, being attentive, being approachable - these are standards no hotel should let slip.
