The staff were marvellous and truly made you feel as though you had stepped back a hundred years in time, treated like the lord of the manor. They were a wonderful team, and I thoroughly enjoyed my day. This is a charming, historic hotel with beautiful, old-fashioned rooms and great service.

Reviewed Aug 27, 2026The hotel, staff, restaurants, and grounds were exceptional. A very nice respite for a busy trip! We had excellent weather and were able to take the bikes into the national park which has a protected bike path right out front.
The room was warm and there was no flat sheet on the bed only a duvet which trapped the heat in a bit too well.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Fantastic location. just outside Killkarney... perfect position to drive the Ring of Kerry and be in town in just minutes. Stayed 2 nights... could have stayed 1 more. Staff was wonderful! Complimentary bikes were an awesome touch... rode to the Abbey and the waterfalls.
The river fishing access is no longer available, so that was a disappointment.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026Wir haben im Coach House übernachtet und waren begeistert von der Einrichtung der Schlafräume und der Bäder! Die Aussicht über die anliegenden Felder war fantastisch. Morgens konnten wir sogar einen wilden Hirsch sehen! Die Mitarbeiter am Empfang, in der Bar und im Speisesaal waren absolut professionell und sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war köstlich und wahrscheinlich das beste, das wir in den letzten Jahren in einer Unterkunft hatten! Im Garten fühlten wir uns wie in ein anderes Jahrhundert versetzt! Einfach herrlich! Der Ort war gut zu Fuß zu erreichen und die Umgebung (Killarney National Park) einfach wunderschön!

Herzliche Gastfreundschaft, exzellentes Frühstück, himmlische Betten, die vermeintliche Abgeschiedenheit mit Ausblick auf das Gebirge machen dieses Haus sowohl zum perfekten Ort für Entspannung und Erholung, als auch zum Ausgangspunkt in die gesellige Stadt oder zum See und dem nahegelegenen Nationalpark! Wir fühlten uns aufrichtig willkommen geheißen und genossen jeden Moment! Vielen Dank dafür - wir sehen uns wieder! Kellerbar-/restaurant ist sehr empfehlenswert!
Die Portionen des Dinners heroben,.. im A la carte-Restaurant wohlgemerkt. Würde es sich um ein mehrgängiges Menü handeln, dann wäre es angemessen ..;) Ungewöhnlich empfand ich auch, kein Mineralwasser in Flaschen bestellen zu können - lediglich aufbereitetes Leitungswasser… wohingegen täglich 1 L Mineralwasser in den Zimmern bereitgestellt wurde ^^

Єдиний мінус це відсутність Нетфлікс та інших додатків для перегляду фільмів.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026Das historische Gebäude ist grandios und man fühlt sich wie in einer anderen Zeit. Die Liebe zum Detail ist überall spürbar. Die Geschichte des Hauses wird den Gästen auf interessante Weise näher gebracht und man kann sich regelrecht vorstellen, wie die Familie Herbert dort gelebt hat. Ich fand es sehr berührend, dass viele kleine Details erhalten wurden. Der Garten ist eine Oase der Ruhe und man setzt sich gerne irgendwo hin. Wir kamen in den Genuss eines Upgrades und die Zimmer waren stilvoll eingerichtet und geräumig. Das Bad verfügte über eine Dusche sowie eine freistehende Badewanne und war schön gross. Es hat genügend Parkplätze beim Hotel. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen in der Bar (alter Weinkeller) sowie in der Brasserie war sehr gut. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls sehr ansprechend. Bisher das schönste Hotel auf unserer Irlandreise.
Das WLAN hätte besser sein können. Das Hotel ist eher abgelegen und Killarney ist zu Fuss etwas weit. Wer gerne abends in ein Pub geht und das Auto stehen lassen möchte, sollte lieber eine zentralere Unterkunft nehmen.

The breakfast was a let-down considering the price of the hotel stay. Only bread and juice, cereal, and one hot food order from the kitchen. The dining room was small and crowded. The reception area was small and staffed by just one person. No fridge in the room.

Reviewed Apr 4, 2026Breakfast was great with lots of choices. Fast service. The rooms were much bigger than expected and extremely clean. Parking onsite was easy. Our family used the include bikes (available in 3 sizes) to bike all over including to the Gap of Dunloe. Staff provides locks and helmets for use. The hotel is an easy and safe 20-25 minute walk to town for food with side walks available the entire way. This is helpful as the town can have traffic in the evening. The location is perfect on edge of the national park yet close to the restaurants in town. There are tons of sheep viewable from the grounds.

Personnalisé, convivial, chaleureux, on se sent à la maison dans cette immense demeure, que ce soit à la réception, au restaurant ou au bar, mention +++ pour le personnel, quel moment suspendu, la brume matinale dans le parc, la musique d'ambiance, le feu ouvert, l'apero au salon, un petit rêve éveillé et la région a été un vrai coup de cœur.

Trop cher pour la prestation Petit déjeuner trop léger surtout pour le prix, peu de choses au buffet ( pas de jambon ni de fruits ni de saumon ou autres)et choix trop juste en plats chauds, pas assez garnis

Reviewed Mar 26, 2026This place was like a beautiful dream. Wish we could have stayed longer! Gorgeous interior, staff warm and inviting. Breakfast was delightfully delicious in a beautiful setting. Room was spacious... The grounds were secluded and pastoral... Sheep and deer! We saw a gorgeous rainbow over the sheep pasture in the morning. The Cellar restaurant at the hotel was phenomenal as well. Highly recommend this place. Stay for a while ... Soak it in. It will be worth it!

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026Beautiful historic building with lots of character and charm. The staff were very welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. The room was comfortable, clean and well presented, and the location was perfect for exploring Killarney and the surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection and the bar staff were accommodating making out favourite cocktail that wasn’t in the menu
Very little to dislike. Some areas of the hotel feel a little dated, but it adds to the character of the building rather than taking away from the experience.

Reviewed Mar 9, 2026The hotel is really close to Killarney, yet it feels remote and calm, with beautiful views from dining room and bedroom. The dinner was beautiful and service was excellent. Room was comfortable and warm.
It was pricey for an overnight - €275.
