Having explained about my friend's retirement after thirty years in the NHS, I was so happy to receive a complementary upgrade to a Seaview room for three; the view was fabulous! The food was delicious (we had breakfast both mornings and dinner on Sat evening) and the staff were also so friendly and helpful. I have stayed here a number of times and will continue to come back!
Great breakfast
Shower was poor
Nice Staff Comfortable Good breakfast Great location
Maybe a bit too expensive?
Location is good, staff were lovely. Both dinner and breakfast very good. Room was nothing special but adequate. Close to a beautiful beach.
Given the location, I think it was quite expensive, more than large cities.
Welcoming, clean and very comfortable
Rooms are a bit dated
The chairs in the bar and in the lobby would need a good clean
Great location
Comfortable and relaxedness
Great location, good parking behind and in front of the hotel. If you’re wanting to stay in Dunfanaghy it’s the only place to go!
Nothing was very good

Staff very pleasent. Room very comfortable clean and warm
A beautiful environment with great staff. Very clean and tidy. A fabulous breakfast and a beautiful pint of Guinness
Absolutely nothing
Nice rooms, good staff. Good breakfast choices. Comfy beds. Right in centre.
Noisy gig downstairs went on until late. But I’m sure that’s not every night.
Homely.
Music...( sorry)..
Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Great evening dinner menu too. Fabulous location.
Having to leave
Lovely Donegal mindset location great
Silly little issues: No water in rooms Having to weirdly book for breakfast if staying Young staff working hard within their training but systems not great and issues then arising- managers could easily fix but didn’t seem knowledgeable. Could so very easily be perfect but not- still decent and nice.
Location. Nice breakfast
My single bed against a wall on one side
Location was perfect. Breakfast also very good. Coffee could be better, lacked flavour. Reception staff friendly and very helpful. Hotel very accommodating providing a front facing room for international visitors.
The coffee
For the second summer in a row, we stayed at Arnolds hotel, Dunfanaghy. It is one of those rare hotels that is across the board outstanding. The staff, the accommodation, the food, the hygiene...they just do everything right. Year one we captivated over a late pint by staff member Sterling and his encyclopedic knowledge of all things Dunfanaghy. This time it was the wonderfully charismatic James who entertained us in the evening. Both are an absolute credit, and we look forward to speaking to them again soon! Even though we were not lucky with the weather this time, our stay was no less enjoyable. If you are holidaying in this part of Donegal, do not hesitate to stay in Arnolds. It was the best decision we made for our initial holiday in this stunning part of Ireland, and we repeated this summer also. In fact, we have already booked to stay next Summer!
Breakfast very good . Liked the view from room.
Towel rail in bathroom was on for a long time hence extra heat in an already warm room .
Staff so friendly and so attentive, a credit to hospitality in Ireland. How to do it right. Compliments to all.
Location.. Dunfanaghy a great place, superb for hospitality and golf.Dunfanghy golf course a jewel. Great sandy clean beaches. Lovely scenery. Weather a bonus. Arnolds hotel so convenient.
Fantastic experience at Arnolds who looked after our large golf group brilliantly. Would highly recommend for large travelling groups.
Excellent location, a home from home, excellent staff, comfortable. Full of character. Very well run!
Gute Lage. Straße in der City direkt am Meer. Parkplatz hinterm Hotel (war voll!); 🏍️unmittelbar(!) vor dem Hoteleingang kostenlos an der Straße abgestellt. Pubessen mittags ok. Abendessen gediegen. Frühstück individuell (auch veggie) und liebevoll zubereitet.
Location is good, a cozy hotel
Not great value for money, service could be improved
Excellent location, comfortable room and bed, clean, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, nice bar.
Some stains on the carpets in the bedrooms. Otherwise nothing.
Location was great. Plenty of busy pubs around when we got there
Nothing
Right in the heart of downtown
Nothing, it was great
Excellent
Beautiful hotel, rooms are beautiful!
I couldn’t stay longer!!😍
The few staff we encountered were welcoming, friendly and most helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and location couldn't have been better for a stay in Dunfanaghy.
No iron/trouser press in room, limited TV channels, soundproofing in the bedroom not the best.
In a country characterised by its kind hospitality, Arnolds raises the bar with its welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Wake up with a great shower, enjoy a breakfast to fuel you for walking on the Wild Atlantic Way; warm up with a whiskey and re-discover the joys of being part of a local community serving wonderful fare.
The perfect place for a refreshing weekend away. Wonderfully attentive staff who couldn’t have done enough to accommodate my elderly mother.
Comfortable room. Helpful reception staff. Good food
Breakfast was slow, and as there is no buffet, it was hard to choose the right amount of food, although very good when it came
I spent the evening at Arnold’s with a friend. We sat in the Errigal suite overlooking the beautiful hills of Donegal, and the standard was very high. The fire was lit and we happily enjoyed our drinks. The service was exceptional — very attentive — and then we ordered our food. To start we had duck spring rolls and brie, which were superb. We then retired to the suite again, where the steak I had as a main course was perfection. The service could not have been better; the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff were of a very high level, which is unusual these days. We settled in front of the blazing fire and enjoyed our desserts along with some excellent red wine. The panna cotta and the cheesecake were both superb, and the drinks were excellent too. The ambience of the whole place was wonderful. This establishment clearly knows how to train its staff to a very high level and serve drinks to a very high standard — the whole experience was superb.
Stayed for the weekend as a couple. I had just traveled around a lot of the west coast for work and booked this for some down time after the traveling. We arrived around 12.30 although check in isn’t until 4pm. We were greeted by Cathy who was so friendly and welcoming. Our room wasn’t ready but we weren’t expecting it to be, we told her we were going to get lunch and she told us to come to her once we had. We came back around 2 and our room was ready which was fantastic. Rooms were lovely and comfortable and the breakfast options were some of the best I’ve had. We also ate dinner one night which was stunning and ate out the other night. Staff in the restaurant were lovely. When we were checking out a member of staff met us in the hallway and offered to check us out so we could take our bags to the car and be on our way which I thought was very kind. There were reading materials in the room which would need updated. There was reference to stables which are no longer open to the public and reference to a restaurant that is now a hairdressers. Minor things but maybe worth mentioning. I would love to stay again. Such a warm family feel. This was our first time in dunfanaghy, such a lovely place.
Very enjoyable stay in Arnold’s Hotel. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Amazing breakfast served to your table which was a truly lovely change from normal buffet breakfast offered by most hotels
Excellant location ! Good for parking Lovely atmosphere , staff go above & beyond . Lovely rooms Excellant quality food Drinks not to expensive Would definatley go back My only down side was bathroom sink Being too high to brush my teeth ( should have asked for a step? I’m sure they would have got me one 🤔)
Everything about Arnold’s would make us want to stay there again especially the exceptional service. All staff went above and beyond for our large post- wedding group and they made our stay very memorable. Many thanks
Stayed in Arnold’s hotel and brought our 1 year old grandson, the hotel staff really looked after us and made our stay so enjoyable. They catered so well for our grandson and all the staff especially the you g students were so good with all the babies in the dining room. We would definitely return to Arnold’s. We dined in the evening with our extended family at a large table of 11 and the staff were all very helpful
Food was lovely, staff were friendly & efficient.
Only one chair in the room! 🤔😬
Fabulous friendly, clean, efficent hotel! I went with my 2 adult daughters its hard to get a room that acvomadates 3 adults! Its in a great location. The food is simply outstanding! I could not fault this hotel in anyway! I am going to come ack with my h!usband
The professionalism from every member of staff was outstanding. The quality of the food served was excellent. The warm welcome was very much appreciated.
The foyer seating area is a little uncomfortable.
The hotel staff are amazing always there to help. The food was wonderful all home made and plenty. Excellent sized portions.
Nothing had a very good experience and enjoyed our stay
From a friendly welcome to a comfortable room and good value for money it was what we hoped for.
This charming family run hotel offers fantastic value. The location is fantastic for anyone looking to explore the north west coast of Donegal or if you are staying local in Dunfanaghy you couldn't be in a better place. Having the beach on the doorstep offers amazing views and the opportunity for incredible walks. The dining room service is impeccable, the menu has something for everyone, the quality of food and presentation is top class. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable and offer a very cosy stay.
Posizione ottima. Colazione insomma nulla di che
Cucina hotel pessima. Meglio evitare
Arnolds Hotel, is fabulous A charming country hotel, that just feels good to be in . All the staff are helpful and friendly. A lovely hotel in the centre of the universe. Stayed at Arnolds many times and never get tired o FFS staying.
I had a most enjoyable stay in this lovely family run hotel where the staff made me most welcome with their kindly and efficient attention to detail. The standard of cleanliness in my room and indeed all areas of the hotel was excellent as usual. This was my second visit and it will most definitely will not be my last. Very homely and welcoming. We recently stayed in Arnold's. We orginally had an issue with WiFi in our room. Aisling - the manager, organised another room within 10 minutes - no hassle whatsoever. She was so accommodating and always with a smile. We stayed for 4 nights and all the staff from managers, bar staff, waiters/waitresses were so professional and polite. The food at breakfast and the bar was always well presented and there was a great selection. It helped that we picked a great week to be in Donegal - Dunfanaghy beach is amazing Thank you to all the staff and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend this hotel and special thanks to Aisling.
Well maintained comfortable and friendly

good breakfast, excellent location, and great evening meals
Maybee needs an update, but a great place to stay
The room was nice and comfortable. Grear breakfast!
The building could use a bit of renovation
A delightful relaxed stay in very comfortable accommodation. Staff excellent and very helpful. Restaurant very good and flexible about to meet requests. They prepared lovely Irish boiled potatoes just for us - a great treat for an Irish expat! Altogether a wonderful stay. Couldn't have been better. Oh, and I haven't mentioned the location which is superb.
Great food, lovely staff
Bed quilts were heavy & bulky, pillows also. Our room only had a light curtain, so it was bright from when sun came up. A box of tissues and a fridge in the room would have been good
Another fabulous stay at Arnolds, bed and breakfast was lovely. Staff brilliant as always, Kathy on reception is a superstar. Sorted our next trip for next year already. Highly Recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nothing
De ligging is mooi, prachtige omgeving. Vriendelijk personeel
Great location in the centre of Dunfanaghy. Nice refurb of bathrooms. We were given an upgrade without asking. Good breakfast and dinner.
Double glazing failure obscuring view
We recently spent a night in Arnold’s Hotel Dunfanaghy. We had a room overlooking the sea. We were looked after very well by Aisling and her team. Food for dinner and breakfast was excellent. Great variety. We hope to return to this hotel when we are in the area again.
Wonderful..traditional hotel..best place we stayed in on our trip...very relaxing place..going back!

Breakfast was terrific - highly recommend!
Rooms a bit tired and could do with an upgrade but had a nice homely feel to the place. All staff very pleasant and helpful.
Really lovely hotel right on the beach, view is beautiful and the hotel is so cozy and comfortable. The staff were fantastic from check in, to the restaurant and the bar. The food in the restaurant was unreal, highly recommend.
Nothing at all to say here, we had a great trip and would definitely stay again if we found our way back here.
Tasty and a goog choice
Excellent location, friendly and efficient staff.
Small note about the shower pressure but other than that, all good.
What a lovely hotel! The staff was so attentive. I needed a refrigerator and they set up the smallest, but most adequate refrigerator in my room that met my needs. The shortbread cookies were melt-in-your-mouth delicious! I brought some home to share with my staff. The breakfast wait-staff was kind and so accommodating. If we asked for modifications to the menu, it was always met with a 'can-do' attitude. Our room was lovely with a view overlooking the bay. We enjoyed exploring around Dunfanaghy and County Donegal. The Country Market on Saturday morning warmed my heart. It had a good selection of fresh vegetables, flowers, baked goods, and more. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We certainly hope to return and stay at the Arnolds Hotel again.
We were a walking group staying 4 nights. Very friendly staff, food good and hotel very comfortable. There were 13 in our group. We could retire to lovely drawing room every evening to chat and some music.
Another super weekend stay at Arnold's in the vibrant town of Dunfanaghy. All staff again super helpful and friendly. Great selection of food for breakfast. Most definitely will be back.
Location very good
The special meal night was not very special, food was lack luster
Overall I thought the hotel was a little tired for the price for a 3 star with no lift. However the view was undeniably beautiful. Rooms were dated with small double beds and tired mattresses. Cleanliness was ok but carpet was spotted with stains. Cooked Breakfast was not so great with very overcooked eggs.
We got a truly warm welcome at Arnold's hotel. The receptionist went the extra mile to inform us about the local sights etc. in the area. The gentleman who served us lunch was interested in the journey we had come. This welcome is rare enough in hotels now, so it was lovely to experience it. We really enjoyed our too short a stay and hopefully we will be back in the future to enjoy this old world gem.
A n Irish hotel in one of the most beautiful and 'wild' parts of Ireland; beside a stunning Atlantic beach and fantastic scenery.
Delighted to be back at Arnolds Hotel. It's part of my family history. I stayed here many times in childhood (from about 1960 onwards), we had our honeymoon here, and later visited again with our adult children. This time we visited as a retired couple. Every stay has been memorable and special, including this one. Excellent, friendly and professional service, delicious food, and a beautifully comfortable room. We will certainly look forward to returning as soon as we can. A big thank you to all the staff.
