As it's been said by others, it's worth coming just for the breakfast. Lovely old world charm throughout, beautifully decorated and comfortable. It was nice to get take-away food and relax at The Mill and purchase wine at the Inn. Huge bedroom. Very comfortable bed.
A little musty smell in BR.
Ein sehr schönes Haus mit viel Platz, um sich tagsüber aufzuhalten. Sehr gutes Frühstück, viel Informationen.
Das Zimmer war sehr klein, hat aber für die zwei Tage gereicht.
Location - lovely views over the lake. Within walking distance of Dunfanaghy. Really good breakfast - a nice selection of home produce - wheaten bread, jam, poached pears, stewed rhubarb etc, as well as a delicious Irish breakfast. And you are welcome to bring back a takeaway meal to eat there. Honesty fridge with wine & beer. Susan was a very pleasant, attentive and helpful host.
There was a varied breakfast, tastefully displayed and a cooked breakfast to order
This was a fabulous accommodation with so many amenities that it made for superb comfort. Wonderfully kind hosts, magnificent breakfast, tea and coffee in the rooms, and such a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Great location for exploring Horn Head and other gorgeous sites in Dunfanaghy. Common rooms were also lovely to sit in.
Beautiful peaceful little retreat. Friendly owner and lovely breakfasts. Comfortable room with a view of stunning Muckish mountain. Gorgeous beaches nearby and a perfect bathing spot at Portnablagh harbour, where locals swim every day at 11am.
Not a huge choice of places for evening meals, but the Oyster Bar in town does a superb bar meal.
Location of the Mill is exceptional, wonderful view of New Lake. The garden was gorgeous. Susan is an extraordinary host and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was so plentiful and delicious! We had a very relaxing stay and were very sorry to leave.
Exiting the driveway was a little scary - a little hard to see past some shrubs.
Beautiful building and location
The Mill is situated in a tranquil setting overlooking a lake roughly one km from Dunfanaghy . Our host was always available without being intrusive. The bedroom was well furnished and comfortable with a well equipped ensuite. The breakfasts were delicious with a vaste choice of menu.
Very nice accommodation!
Breakfast was excellent, a huge selection on offer.

Beautiful B&B along the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland. Susan and Derrick were excellent hosts and were able to accommodate us an extra night after unforeseen circumstances. Breakfast was fantastic and our room was very comfortable. We hope to return again to this beautiful area.
Absolutely loved The Mill and Dunfanaghy - a great little place and superb location for exploring Donegal. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Superb breakfast, adapted for our individual requests ! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this area. We loved it !
Nothing - just perfect !
Loved The Mill, beautiful setting and accommodation, didn't want to leave, really beautiful, and fab brekkie!
Nothing, all good
Excellent location with a property truly cared for. Beautiful nature surroundings. Excellent breakfast. Very knowledgable and friendly owner
Queen size bed would have been nicer.
A lovely house in a beautiful location. Peaceful but Danfanaghy town in easy reach. Owners are lovely and give great advice on where to eat or visit if needed. Outstanding breakfast that will set you up for the day. We only stayed one night and wished we had booked for longer.
Nothing of note.
The room was spacious and had great view. Plenty of storage The breakfast was delicious
The staff were amazing and the view from the room was amazing too. The bed was super comfy and the breakfast they do was amazing too.
So clean and comfortable. The rooms were very a different level as was the breakfast. Susan and Derrick were extremely hospitable. As frequent traveler this was one of the best stays ever.
A wonderful stay. The rooms are very lovely, the breakfast is the best in Ireland.
Of our tour along the coast from Belfast to Galway this was our favourite stop. A beautiful facility and location. Sue was lovely host and looked after us. The breakfast was superb and the room beautiful.
Breakfast is great, facilities are lovely, great to be able to sit outside in the lovely garden. Susan was more than helpful in giving advice on where to visit. Would recommend and hopefully we will be back
The room was very comfortable .clean .warm .had a beautiful hot bath each night .food was outstanding. Have never experienced the standard of breakfast food ever . .The B+B is set in the most beautiful gardens next to a lake .This place is just amazing .I hope to be back soon .
Everything was prefect
Good selection of hot and cold breakfast available and all beautifully presented in a very characterful dining room with a super view of the garden and lake beyond. It was a very peaceful and relaxed eating experience with Susan as a congenial hostess. Honesty fridge for guests and tea/coffee facilities in conservatory and in rooms were welcome. Bedroom was very comfortable with ensuite facility. There was a boutique feel to the Mill which had been beautifully restored with a very interesting history.
Breakfast is incredible. Rooms are super comfortable. Susan and Derrick are perfect hosts
Nothing
The setting and amenities are unsurpassed!
Wanted to spend more time there!
The room was very much typical higher end B&B; nice furnishings, if a bit dated, but that was the vibe. There's no place to sit in the room itself, but the downstairs has ample seating and even if there are other guests around, they are often not visible so you can be as private as you want to be. Breakfast was superb. Susan really lays out a great breakfast, cooked to order. Heavy on Irish Breakfast, which is too much food for me in the morning, but she was able to cut down the portions so that I didn't feel guilty leaving a lot of food uneaten. I'd say the breakfast ranks among the best at any hotel or B&B I've had in the last 5 years.
There was nothing I didn't like. I suppose it could be closer to town, but we had no problem finding parking in town when we went to eat dinner, so in the end the location was just fine. It's right on the water, and the views are quite pretty.
Good for money!!
Very small but good
Delicious breakfast including local specialities
I requested an earlier breakfast each morning because of golfing commitments and the hosts were so accommodating and cooked a delicious breakfast each morning earlier than usual. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was cosy and had beautiful views over the lake, the breakfast was delicious, the hosts were brilliant and it was certainly good value for money.
That I couldn’t stay longer!

The Mill was a fantastic B&B. Great value with an excellent breakfast Susan is an excellent host and very friendly with a great knowledge of the region. Highly recommended this accommodation.
Everything was just perfect. From the friendly welcome to the beautiful lakeside garden to the exceptional breakfast. We had a most refreshing stay and will definitely come here the next time we're in the locality.
There was nothing we did not like.
Lovely location. ... very clean ... breakfast fantastic.
Everything
Great breakfast
Beautiful decor, garden, view of the lake, excellent selections for breakfast in a lovely breakfast room.
We enjoyed everything about this place.
The noisy road
Beautiful grounds, spacious and fabulous location.
Nothing
The Mill is an outstanding location..Breakfast there is totally amazing..wide choice of menu including overnight oats, freshly made porridge, fresh fruits and juices. Extensive cooked menu to choose from also.
Nothing at all..
The staff were so lovely the place itself was very cute …so well kept and so well run!
It’s quite a dangerous road to walk into town.
Beautiful location which was just out of town, so perfect for us with a hire car. Weathewr was perfect for us to sit in the sun in the garden too. The breakfast was superb - plenty of choices and really tasty. Would also thoroughly recommend The Cove restaurant in Portnablagh - excellent food and service, although quite expensive. Take the walk to Tramore Beach - a hidden treasure.
Safer walk into the village would help if not using a car. There are no pavements.
The facility was great; the setting was beautiful; Susan was a great host. The breakfast presentation and food were top of the line!!!
Great location overlooking a beautiful lake very close to the town of Dunfanaghy. The property was very homely and authentic. The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic.
Nothing really.
Everything!
Breakfast excellent. Beautiful location. Very comfortable.
Best breakfast ever. Superb place to stay
Breakfast exceptional
We thought the bed was larger, also over priced
Everything… the location, the garden, the welcome, a beautiful room, exceptional food, outstanding customer service and most of all the relaxed atmosphere.
Maybe the power of the shower
Breakfast excellent… multiple choices freshly cooked in beautiful surroundings.
It was all excellent.
Beautiful house overlooking lake.
Bit out of town
Beautiful property surrounded by lovely gardens and views over the lake.
Nothing
Beautiful house and gardens. Lovely room with tea making facilities. Very friendly hosts. Delicious breakfast.

I rarely rate a facility as “exceptional”, but The Mill qualifies. Every aspect of the inn was fantastic. The drive to Dunfanaghy is worth it if only to stay at The Mill. First class all the way!
Leaving after two nights
The breakfast was fantastic, a huge choice of both cold and cooked food. The house looked out over a lovely view of green countryside, a mountain and a lake. And the hosts were very welcoming but took care not to be intrusive.

Amazing breakfast, so much variety. Really cosy and comfy room. Beautiful views.
Beautiful location, quiet as it's away from the road but easy enough to get to the main town. The hosts were amazing, so accommodating and lovely to chat to. The building and gardens were meticulously maintained and very enjoyable to be in the property. Would recommend to anyone traveling through the area!

There is nothing we didn’t like.
Great location to explore beautiful Donegal. Very comfortable room. Delicious breakfast.
The location was fantastic in lovely surroundings overlooking a lake with the mountains in the distance. The room was spacious , clean and quiet equipped with everything you might need. Breakfast was excellent , with a varied menu. We received a warm welcome from Susan and it seemed that nothing would be too much trouble. We would highly recommend staying here.
Nothing.
Breakfast was lovely. Nice location not too far from town.
Room was at top of the stairs and could hear everyone returning late at night
The question is "what did you think of the breakfast" and the answer is "I can't STOP thinking about the breakfast we had". I've put on my bucket list "Try every single thing on The Mill breakfast menu"
What didn't I like? Hmmm....having to leave!
All round lovely accommodation.
Nothing
wonderful breakfast - top notch. Beautiful inn, lovely grounds, view can't be beat. We enjoyed the conservatory for eating and reading. Quiet comfortable room, character. Derek and Susan were wonderful, great advice on where to hike and what to see, very warm and helpful hosts. And Liz took great care of us also, loved talking with her. The Mill was the Highlight of our trip. We plan to return!
