Double bed mattress in ensuite bedroom had a dip in the Middle and seating provision in the sitting room was not sufficient for five guests.

Reviewed Jul 24, 2026Man ist in Dunfanaghy mitten im Örtchen, kann zum Supermarkt und zum Strand und zu Restaurants/ Cafés laufen. Die Umgebung von Dunfanaghy ist sehr schön, Donagal eine Reise wert. Auf den ersten Blick wirkt das Haus nett, wir bekamen Blumen und Kuchen zur Begrüßung. Im Haus funktioniert alles (Lichter, Waschmaschine, Küchengeräte,...).
Auf den zweiten Blick sieht man dann z.B. dass es im Schlafzimmer weder Nachttische noch Nachttischlämpchen gibt, die Fenster dreckig sind ebenso wie der Backofen, in der Besteckschublade ein Nagelknipser liegt, die Klospülung manchmal funktioniert und manchmal nicht. Ich sag mal so: Wir haben in Dunfanaghy keine andere Unterkunft für den gewünschten Zeitraum gefunden, daher war das Haus ok. Im Vergleich zu allen anderen Unterkünften unserer Reise die teuerste Unterkunft und die am wenigsten überzeugende.

Reviewed Feb 9, 2026Really handy to the village and all the pubs. Close to the fantastic Horn Head cliffs and Miners Trail on Muckish. Nice warm cosy house with everything that was required. The Friday evening music session in Patsy Dans was a bonus.

The size of the tv was a bit of a let down And the bed in the front room was really noisy getting in and out of it but was more the bed frame rather than the mattress as it was really comfortable to sleep in

Through no fault of the house storm Emma arrived and electric went out. We were able to light the fire, but there no lamps or candles. 2 small night lights but no batteries (which we had to go and get). Maybe some emergencies torch or candles could be provided.

Small iron bed in one of the rooms that wasn't very comfortable. The spiral staircase to the loft room wasn't 100% secure. The electrics to the loft room was an extension from the bedroom going through a hole in the floor.

Reviewed Apr 25, 2025The house was well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The back garden is a sun trap 🌞 Just a short stroll to the main street and a great base for exploring Co Donegal. The added bonus is that it is dog friendly as is The Rusty Oven pizzeria at the back of Patsy Dan's pub!

Reviewed Feb 3, 2025Exceptionally clean, bright, comfortable accommodation. A quiet location just 3minuted walk from local shops and pubs. The house is very well equipped. There were even supplies left to light the log burning stove. The host was friendly and generous with local information, and communication was very responsive.
There were no negatives to our stay.

Reviewed Oct 6, 2023Great location, just a couple of minutes from the delights of the main street (no time for the takeaways to go cold on the way home, unless you go via the pub). Easy to find, the house itself was well laid-out and ideal for 5 people. Particularly liked the look on my son's face when he climbed up the spiral staircase to confront his mezzanine sleeping area!
The wooden floors throughout makes the house a tad echoey but you soon get used to it. Squeaky bathroom doors let everyone know who has a weak bladder in the middle of the night!

The owners who live nearby, were helpful and supplied clean linens and towels for the second week of the holiday. The owners also left a welcome pack which was appreciated.

Reviewed Feb 7, 2023Great location, a short walk to town. The house is modern, fresh and nicely decorated throughout. Well equipped kitchen and a bonus to have tea, coffee, etc. The welcome gift was a lovely touch as were the tasteful Christmas decorations which made us feel very welcome 😊
A small thing but we stayed in December and arrived late. The house was very cold and took a long time to warm up. Maybe put the heat on for an hour or so on the day of arrival. But, it was thoughtful of the hosts to provide a firelog and some fuel.
