Competent staff

The room was damp, and the bathroom was yucky. It had a tiny sink, a leaking shower, and a rusty soap holder. The toilet was kind of falling apart.

Location is very good

Great location, clean and shower/toilet facilities clean and functional. Breakfast was very nice- half decent coffee Reasonably priced and courteous Staff. Recommend the ‘iced tea’ after a long day in the heat- at Restaurant 1916- easy 10min walk from this hotel.

If you are looking for a comfortable hotel with location advantage, then this is the right place. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Annapurna Temple are nearby. The Dasashwamedh Ghat is also within walking distance, in fact the hotel is closely located to the Ganga river bank with ghats at every step. What made my rating at 4 instead of 5, was the rooftop restaurant! Most of the serving staff (supposedly waiters), attended to seemed reluctantly and the waiting time also seemed endless! We didn’t get “fish” even though it was mentioned in the menu! The taste was also bland! The rooftop is not really accessible and open because it is inhabited by monkeys! So we couldn’t really enjoy the riverside view. One other thing, this hotel is not accessible upto the doorstep by any vehicle, you have to walk through narrow lanes/by-lanes. It is recommended that you don’t have heavy luggage. Though the hotel provides staff to carry luggage from the hotel to nearest transport point. The saving grace of this hotel is their manager Shri Mithilesh Pandey. He is courteous and helpful. There is also a staff boy called Sarju - he is there to serve with smile. Such people made our stay comfortable.

Had a great stay in this hotel...it is near to ghat and Kashi Vishwanath temple their rooftop cafe and it's view is beautiful!...the staff are great and welcoming ..over all had a very good time ....highly recommend 👌 special thanks Mirhlesh ji...

The location is good so to walk 60 yds to go to Ganges river. Staff were helpful , restaurant food was great.

Getting to the hotel is difficult , as no auto s can go in those alleyways. But hotel staff are good enough to send a member to carry our luggage . Good walk. On the whole it's a good stay.

Service at Bachchan palace is really good. Staffs are polite. Overall our stay at Bachchan palace hotel is quite overwhelming. Approx walking distance of dashawamedh ghat from hotel is 5mins which is really convenient and one can avail boat service from there only to visit famous manikarnika ghat

I didn’t realize that it couldn’t be reached by taxi, and my taxi driver, who spoke no English, repeatedly tried to make me get out of the cab. Not at all the hotel’s fault; it was mine for not researching that and making transfer accommodations accordingly. They sent a gentleman on a motor bike to get me, and to take me back, which was awesome and so appreciated.

Wonderful stay at all time... Im visited last 4 times... Every time The owner staff all of theme are so good, very helpful and great person. The views over roof top restaraunt are amazing. There food are very reasonable and tasty. .Beautiful seen as sun rising and morning views are fantastic.

My personal experience is very good with this hotel. My stay at Hotel Bachchan Palace was great. The Baba Vishwanath Temple, Golden Temple, and ghats were all nearby. The Ganga Aarti was amazing. The service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. The food was tasty, and the rooftop had a beautiful view of the river and city. Thanks to Mithlesh Ji for organizing my Varanasi trip. Stay was comfortable and staff was vey cordial…We visited Kashi Viswanath Tepmle 3 times and it was splendid.. Food quality was nice and especially roof top arrangement.. Ghat Arrati was good and room was very clean food delicious visit again

This hotel is owned by a very gracious gentleman who went above and beyond to help me out since I was traveling alone. The location is in a very narrow alley near the most popular ghat (due to the evening aarti ceremony). My taxi driver was unable to find it; we called the hotel, and someone calmed my driver down and sent Somnath on a motorbike to retrieve me and my luggage. (He also took me a central meeting point for my return transfer to the airport, which was INCREDIBLY appreciated.) The accommodations are simple but clean. I can’t imagine anything closer to the Ganges and the Dasaswamedh Ghat being better. And there’s a clean restaurant on the top floor. Points to note - bring AirPods or ear plugs. The walls are thin, and my floor mates loud. Flushing, coughing, even burping … fortunately I sleep soundly almost anywhere. Varanasi is a magical place, and I’m so grateful I had a chance to experience it so close to the main historical points of interest.

Before planning this trip, we knew our day would start at the break of dawn, we would take a dip in the Ganges, watch the beautiful sunrise/ sunset on the boat, experience the Ganga Aarati by the Ghats and snooze between two different locations when the temples are closed, so we chose to be as close to the ghats as possible. Hotel Bachchan Palace was our perfect pick and rightly so cos it’s inexpensive and very close to the Dashaswamedh Ghat! Also, it’s a straight alley to Gate No 2 of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Loved the connectivity from the hotel to most religious sites & cultural landmarks! Mithilesh Pandeyji at the hotel was courteous and helpful. He offered porter service to & from the hotel to the nearest vehicle zone which is a 15 min walk, arranged airport drop service at a reasonable cost. This truly made our travel and stay hassle-free! He shared cultural insights and guided us whenever we needed support. Also, helped us draw a suitable 2 1/2 day itinerary. What would have made this a 5 star rating is complimentary water bottles per day (they missed giving us those as we had ordered a 2l Bisleri on the first day), basic toiletries (only a small bar of soap & toilet roll provided), basic cleaning of room on day 2. PS: Owing to narrow lanes, access is difficult for people with disability and senior citizens. the nearest vehicle zone is Nandi sthup circle. There are cycle rickshaws which help ferry people but climbing up these can also be challenging for some. Having said that, the hotel can arrange for a wheelchair with assistant (a third party vendor at an extra cost) and has an elevator inside with very helpful staff. So if you’re someone who loves to explore the city on foot, you’ll love this experience!

During my vist to Varanasi I stayed in the hotel bachhan palace near daswamedh ghat.The hote is in very good location ,safe and the receptionists are very helpful in all respect.The rooms are very neat and clean. We are very pleased and enjoyed a lot in Varanasi.

Nice experience of stay at Bachchan Palace , Varanashi. Good rooms, good room service and very good behavious of the Desk Staff. The special feature of this hotel is it is one minute walking distance from Dashaswamedh Ghat and three minutes away from the Temple Galli. The rooftop cafeteria is very good therefrom the river Ganges is visible. We enjoyed it.

Excellent hospitality by the Hotel Bachchan Palace during my and my family's stay in Varanasi 19th Oct for 4 days. Mithilesh and Somnath just rocks, they have made my stay experience just like home and with their outstanding guidance and suggestion my trip in Varanasi is done superbly. Also would like to mention service of Suraj and Ayush there were always there for you with a smile in face and never said no for anything.... Kudos to the entire team of Hotel Bachchan Palace. It's a great location! They have a well coordinated system to meet you (because the cars can't go any further). Unfortunately the power (Air Conditioner) went out a couple of times. This meant the plugs (no phone charging) and AC didn't work. The fans still worked, though. Thank goodness! Upon check-out I discovered that breakfast was not included. I thought that it was. Perhaps it depends what platform you use to book? Not sure. I would recommend checking so you don't have the same misunderstanding.

The people there were extremely welcoming and extremely helpful arranging tours and taxis etc. Ayush even gave me his number to call if I got lost in the city which is very easy in Varanasi.

Good clean hotel with lots of hot water. Excellent location in the heart of Varanasi down an alleyway but with lots of restaurants and street food. Hotel staff friendly and very helpful. A Tuk Tuk cannot drop you directly at the hotel but at top of the road and you walk for 200/300m, but it’s not far, it’s a pedestrian street.

Quite noisy with barking dogs and squealing monkeys but not the hotels fault. Good hotel in great location.

Location is so poor and getting down from car and walking 1.2 km from Girjaghar Chouraha to hotel through narrow and dirty lanes make life horrible for everyone...hotel sent their staff to carry luggage but staff ask money after reaching, tip is not enough. Hotel room has zero vantilation, but rate is too high and project as good hotel..... It spoilt our mood for walking so long in narrow and cow dung prone lanes.... 😡😡

The location is amazing, its very close to the main attractions, ghat and temple are walking. The staff and management are very polite and helpfull. Breakfast was sumptuous. Beds were comfortable and clean. Clean bathrooms.

Hotel is good but bed sheets are not getting change when old customer is leaving room. They are using used bed sheet for new customer. If you insist then they will replace it with used bed sheet of other room.

The hotel helped us getting a train ticket and they got us a boat for the deepdivwali. Was an amazing experience and if it wasn't for them we would have missed out on the best show of lights

The behavior is all that matters and stays in the memory. The wowed away with that. Surely knows customer service and how to manage things addressing things timely. I had elderly with me and they took more care of the accessibility then me.

Even though that was not a major concern but yes the hotel room hot water supply was troubling us a bit but workable.

Location, no vehicle access from 500 meters or so. Some staff just don't understand customer needs. Our room was noisy - picked up all noise from kitchen.

Very helpful staff. They proactively reached out on day of arrival and escorted us from the point of cab drop. Very good location - right next to ghaat and mandir. One of the few hotels which have a lift. Would heartily recommend.

Room Cleanliness, Behavior of the Staffs

No hot water was available at Bathroom. Food quality and place of eating should be improved. We were allotted Ground Floor Room and noise from reception and corridor was very much there.

The property is decent for a solo traveller's. Staff is very friendly and supportive. They came to pick up from the drop location because the property is quite interior and 4 wheelers can not enter.

You have to walk a lot to reach this temple. It's close to 2 kms from the temple..

Good place to stay in Varanasi. Situated in quiet streets, very close to the ghats, room was fine. Good value for money.

Be aware that you cannot come here by car, but hotel has a pickup service so they can show you the way and help you with your bags.

This hotel is located in one of the best hotspots of the city of Varanasi just 5 minutes walking to the most famous Ghat, the Dashashwamedh. Also there is a lot of shops nearby like souvenir shops, convenience stores and street food. Managers are always helpful for any enquiry and staff friendly and very helpful anytime. From the receptionis to the housekeepers, an 11 over 10.
