I had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île. The highlight was definitely the Front Office team. From arrival to departure, everyone was welcoming, professional, smiling, and genuinely helpful. A very special thanks to Sami, the Director of Rooms, for being so welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. He kindly offered me a room upgrade and even arranged a room change when I needed one, which I really appreciated. The breakfast service was also excellent, and the team was very friendly and attentive. The only small downside was that some of the rooms could benefit from renovation, but I was pleased to hear that renovations are planned for the future. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely come back. Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île is now my place to stay whenever I’m in Strasbourg. Thank you to the whole team for your warm hospitality!

What can I say it has been an amazing experience from the start. I have to start with Lou on reception, she has been fabulous and so helpful on many occasions, she is a credit to the hotel. Then there is the concierge Matthias amazingly attentive and very helpful in arranging trips. What blew us away was the thoughtfulness of Lou and Matthias, it was mine and my partners birthday and they gave us such a personalised surprise in our room by creating a map of our road trip we have been on and leaving it in our room with a ribbon round but it didn't end there. We went out for dinner and came back to champagne and treats in our room. All I can say is thank you a million times for making our birthdays so special. The location is perfect, the carpark is under the hotel. We were staying in a junior suite and could not fault it. We will definitely be back.

The hotel itself was nice and had good potential. The smart TV in the room was excellent and very convenient to use.

I had high expectations, but unfortunately, the reality was disappointing. The cleanliness was below expectations, with a lot of dust, the bathroom was smelly. The breakfast was very basic, with limited variety and almost no hot food apart from the omelette. Some cups and plates had an unpleasant smell and did not seem properly clean. There were too few staff members for the number of guests, which resulted in slower service.

As usual we got a warm welcome! Unfortunately I did an error in my booking but the reception team found me a free room which we directly could access! Always when we are in this hotel we feel like home and for us it’s the best place to stay in the city center of Strasbourg….

I give this place 5 stars. Everything was perfect. The location is very nice, and the staff at the front desk and room management were so kind and ready to help. We would like to thank Mr. Sammy the rooms manager for his ongoing support as well.

Die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen und wirken zeitlich etwas überholt. Selbst in der Junior-Suite gab es keine Dusche, sondern eine Badewanne mit Duschtrennwand. Das ist mäßig komfortabel für den Zimmerpreis.

Très mauvais accueil par le réceptionniste de nuit Léo qui ne voulait pas nous donner de chambre standard pour 1 adulte et mon fils mais qu’une très grande chambre très cher ! Il s’est trompé de plus dans la catégorie de chambre et nous a donné une chambre petite inférieure alors qu’il y avait de la place et que je suis Client depuis 20 ans !

Die Ausstattung die klima funktioniert nicht alle Sachen in Zimmer waren defekt und anscheinend hatten das mehrere Leute schon in den Rezensionen geschrieben nur interessiert sich keiner dafür die Garage ist überteuert.. anscheinend ist es so gedacht dass man das Fahrzeug vor Hotel lässt und dann das es jemand von Personal abholt und es in der Garage bringt nur das Problem ist wenn vor dem Hotel keine Möglichkeit gibt stehen zu bleiben dann bleibt man auf die Straße stehen keiner kommt von Hotel zu Auto und man muss jemanden holen dann ist das Ganze eher gestresst als entspannt mit fünf Sterne hat das Hotel nichts zu tun außer der Eingang und vielleicht das Restaurant wobei teilweise die Kinder sehr gut sind und teilweise schrecklich es gibt kein Ende was daran alles schlecht ist

We stayed two nights in June during heat wave. Best thing about this hotel is location. Near to Cathedral. Central. Beyond that, it is difficult to understand a five-star rating. Rooms are somewhat outdated. Air conditioning did not cool room during heat wave. Bath with shower combo unsafe for many guests. No grab bar at all to enter and exit deep tub. Two elevators which hold only four persons. One was out of order during our stay. Brasserie understaffed and getting a cup of coffee in the morning was not simple. Cleanliness mixed. Rooms have minibar, not fridge space. Credit card deposit required for “bar” to be unlocked. No space for anything guest might wish to refrigerate.

334,- € für ein kleines Zimmer, dessen Einrichtung nicht mehr besonders gut in Stand war, sind einfach unverhältnismäßig teuer. Beim Frühstück laufen 7 Angestellte herum, von denen nur zwei sich nicht in Zeitlupe bewegen. Wenn man Kaffee bestellt (kann man nicht selber an einer Maschine zapfen) dauert es lange und irgendwann fragt sich eine schlafmützige Angestellte von Tisch zu Tisch, wer den Kaffe bestellt hat. Das ist nicht würdig eines fünf Sterne Hauses!

Very disappointed with our stay at Sofitel Strasbourg. We booked the Imperial Suite for 3 nights, expecting the comfort and service of a 5-star hotel. The air conditioning in the suite was not working properly. For the first two days, we were repeatedly told that the issue was being fixed. However, when it could not be resolved, we were told that the two bedrooms did not have AC vents and that only the master bedroom was air-conditioned—despite both rooms having visible vents and temperature controllers. Instead of fixing the issue, we were advised to open the windows, given portable fans, and even told that family members could sleep on the sofa beds. We did not book an Imperial Suite to sleep on sofa beds because the bedrooms were too hot to use comfortably. The lack of a proper solution and the poor handling of the situation were extremely disappointing and far below the standards expected from a 5-star hotel.

The location is absolutely excellent. However, unfortunately, the negative experiences we encountered overshadowed this.

The room service certainly did not deliver a 5-star hotel experience. A dirty room, missing towels, and unreplenished water—it was absolutely terrible. Is the breakfast worth the cost? I don't think so. We had to remind the staff repeatedly—and wait half an hour—just to get the cheese platter refilled, almost every single day. The service staff were extremely surly. The telephone in the room wasn't working. Furthermore, they locked the refrigerator at the end of the second day. In summary: It is highly questionable how this hotel managed to earn its 5-star rating with this level of service.

I stayed at Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île and the experience was far below expectations for a hotel of this category. The room was advertised as air conditioned, yet no cooling was available. I was told the system is “seasonal,” which is misleading—especially since the room faced direct sunlight and became uncomfortably hot, making it difficult to sleep. There were also several additional charges: * €50 for early check-in at 12:30 noon instead of 30 * €10 to empty the minibar The overall service made things worse. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt uncomfortable and somewhat alienated during my stay. From a hygiene and comfort perspective, the bathroom facilities were also limited when are we introducing bidet . For a hotel in this price range, more modern hygiene features would be expected by many international travelers. Overall, the combination of misleading information, lack of comfort, and poor service made this stay disappointing and uncomfortable . I would not recommend this hotel to my enemies .

Das Bett war sehr bequem. Die Mitarbeiter außerordentlich freundlich. Auch der Eingangsbereich ist sehr schön. Die Lage ist fantastisch. Eine sehr große Parkgarage.

Die Zimmer sind leider sehr klein und nicht mehr gut in Schuss. Im Flur hat es stark nach Fäkalien gerochen. Auch die Bäder sind sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Dusche in der Badewanne ist nicht zeitgemäß und komfortabel.

Das Personal war sehr ,sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die Zimmer sind schon in die Jahre gekommen.

Booked this hotel through amex The hotel collection. If they had the hotel listed as a 2 or 3 stars I wouldn't be writing this review, however when a hotel is listed as 5 stars it needs to provide a 5 star service. Part of the hotel collection benefits is an upgraded room and breakfast, this hotel does not provide any of that. The room is small which is typical for the European hotel room but this one was dirty. The carpets are stained and gross. The shower is old and molded and corroded. Our bed sheet had wine stains on it. It was probably one of the worst hotel rooms I have ever stayed at and it should definitely not be listed as five star! The only good thing about the hotel is the location!

تنقلنا في عدة في مدن اوربية ولكننا هذه المره فوجئنا من تصرف طاقم الاستقبال اثناء وصولنا لهذا الفندق ، حيث تم اعطائنا اربع غرف في طابق فيه التكييف لا يعمل . ابلاغناهم و تم نقلنا الى غرف اخرى في طابق اخر ولا تعمل ايضاً وتم تزويدنا بمراوح اضافية ، و لم نتمكن من الاقامة في تلك الغرف . و ابلغناهم مرة ثالثه بضرورة تغيير الغرف لن الوضع لا يستحمل،حيث اكتشفنا بالصدفة ان هناك غرف ذات تكييف جيد . و تم اخبارهم بذلك ، و بعد معاناه قاموا بنقلنا للغرف المقبولة . و قد افسد هذا التعامل جو الاقامة في ستراسبورغ و اضاع وقتنا في التنقل بين الغرف . وللعلم وهل يعقل لفتح ثلاجة الغرفة فقط، يستوجب دفع مبلغ و قدره 10 يورو

كانت من اسواء الاقامات في حياتي ، اعطونا غرف في طابق لا يوجد به تكييف، حيث العامل افاد بان لايوجد تكييف يعمل في هذا الطابق ويتوجب تغيير الغرف ، وكنا اصحاب مرض ضغط وقد نمنا في الحر ، ونقلونا لغرف اخرى في طابق اخر و ايضاً لا يعمل التكييف، و بعد 24 ساعه تم نقلنا للمره الثالثه ، حيث تم اضاعه يومين من الحبه فقط في التنقل بين الغرف وكنا عائلة كبيرة.

The help to buy flowers on a Sunday and also reserve a very restaurant perfectly adapted to us on a period with not so many restaurants open, plus extra towels in case i needed. All was truly perfect. Very friendly service.

After reading some of the previous negative reviews, I thought this hotel was going to a fleabitten, rundown dive. I needn't have worried! Sure, the hotel is a bit on the older side, but so what, not all hotels can be sparkly and new. Check in was efficient and friendly, with a good description of the town and a map provided (my favourite!). The arrangement to use the in room fridge was a bit weird though, you have to pay a 100 Euro deposit per night to be able to open the fridge.....I couldn't quite understand this. First world problem though. Rooms were a good standard, and the connecting arrangement works well (we had 2 rooms). Breakfast is pretty decent, they make a nice omelette and there's a good selection of hot and cold foods. Bar was quite impressive, a wide selection of champagnes on ice, with friendly bar service. I think best of all is the location of this hotel, walking distance to everything, and less than a 10 minute walk to the cathedral. Plus a 3 minute walk to Primark if you're in the market for a bargain! Happy to stay here again.

As usual we booked this hotel and as usual our experience was great and this since more than 30 years where I’m customer of this place. We were at l’y welcomed by the concierge who took care of our car. Once at the reception desk the great experience went on and our room was directly ready. Our room was very cosy, clean and well decorated…. In the morning we could enjoy an excellent breakfast, the choice on the buffet of local and standard dishes were more than enough and the stuff took very care of us. All in one, nothing to add than just book your room and enjoy ….

I am an Accor Gold (now Platinum) member because I have stayed at a lot of Accor group hotels around the world. Earlier this year I stayed in half a dozen in France and was shocked to find that the hotels in the chain’s home country were in the worst shape. But none have been so bad as the Sofitel in Strasbourg. This was particularly disappointing as we splurged for what we hoped would be a special new year’s week. We usually stay in Mercures but while travelling the last two months we stayed at a number of 5-star hotels. I was shocked that this Sofitel calls itself that. My heart fell and I was so depressed when I saw our room. I booked a luxury king room for 6 nights at 457 euros/night. The room was awful! - Tired looking, scratched and worn woodwork - old, ugly furniture - A crappy, uncomfortable little sofa - Nothing on the walls, no decor to make the room seem homey and inviting - Old, ugly carpet - Poor lighting - No cushions - Bathroom is tiny but even so there is room for what’s missing: - Hooks are on the back of shower wall, where things hung there get wet, instead of on the outside wall (there is room) or on the back of the door - NO towel racks. At all. Just a small handle like thing on the shower glass. But they want you to reuse towels! Where are we to hang them to dry? - Very little storage area and the glass shelf they added is tilted so everything slides off. There is plenty of room under the very poorly designed sink for a little cabinet - Bathroom fan doesn’t work - Shower drains very slowly, fills up while you are showering so by the end you are standing in 5 cm of water The hotel was very busy but the breakfast area, and the staff, could not handle the volume. We had very long waits for a table for the first few days. The Buffet area is tiny and poorly designed, it could not fit the number of people. Food was not refilled fast enough. Waiters were running, cleaning tables, but not taking coffee orders. There were hot items available at no extra charge but this was never conveyed. By the third morning, when we saw others getting omelettes, we asked. We felt bad for the staff who were not managed well or there weren’t enough of them. When we arrived there was no acknowledgment of Accor membership or Gold status and no welcome drink as has always been the case at Accor hotels. Overall service was friendly, when they had the time. But I feel that my New Year was ruined by staying in a run down, poorly maintained hotel when I expected the luxury that is promoted by the Sofitel brand. I will be thinking seriously about future stays in Accor group hotels. I’ll certainly not stay in a French one again.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at your hotel a few days ago. While the main lobby entrance itself was acceptable, there was a very strong and unpleasant odor throughout the lobby area, which appeared to be coming from the restaurant. The smell was overwhelming—similar to strong cheese or worn shoes—and made it extremely uncomfortable to spend any time in the lobby. The suite we booked for four people was far below expectations. It consisted of one king-size bed and a very small sofa bed that could barely accommodate two people. The overall room size was smaller than standard, including the bathroom facilities, which were poorly designed and awkwardly divided. The bathtub and standing shower were located in the master room, while the toilet and sink were placed in a separate room with no mirror. Additionally, the toilet flush did not function properly. The hotel, in general, appears very old and in urgent need of renovation. The room was not clean, particularly the carpet, which was extremely dirty and unpleasant. The wallpaper was worn, and the WC area—especially the water closet—had visible cracks. Overall, the rooms seem to require complete restructuring and refurbishment. Due to these issues, my stay was far from comfortable and did not meet reasonable standards or expectations. I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider making the necessary improvements.

We enjoyed our two nights' stay at the Sofitel Grade Ile, though as other reviewers stated, the infrastructure is quite dated and in need of a renovation. Pros: - The location was fantastic, especially if you're in Strasbourg for the Christmas markets. The hotel is at the heart of the Grande Ile, but close to the bridges and tram stop to the rest of the city. - The service was generally good and in line with a five star hotel. We had a great check-in, and the bartender was brilliant and made us some very lovely mocktails. - Although the rooms and common areas look dated and worn, the bed was still superb (as with all Sofitels) and the five star amenities were still that (e.g. top quality bedroom slippers). They also installed a lovely ice rink for the winter. - We had dinner at the Sofitel Brasserie, and the food and service were excellent. The decor and condition of the Brasserie was also markedly better than the rest of the hotel. Cons: - For the price, the hotel looks dated and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom also needs a redesign and is not the most user friendly. - The rooms are pretty small for the price.

This hotel is set in a perfect location and the employees who work there are wonderful. The issue with this hotel is the rooms. They are small. Carpet is worn and dust and mold on vents. This is not a 5 star hotel and you pay quite a bit of money to stay here.
