I am currently staying at Dover beach hotel . Love this place will definitely be back. The place is immaculate shout out to the cleaning staff . The reception staff just wooooooooo amazing , they go above and beyond to make sure one stay is the best ever . Also every other member of staff is friendly and helpful. The pool is great and you can use two different pools and it’s right on the beach perfect location!
My husband and I used the Dover Beach Hotel for a one night stay both at the beginning and end of our island hopping trip to St Martin and Anguilla. We used Virgin and they fly into Barbados. We were looking for something that was not too expensive and in a good location to the airport and with a beachfront location. The Dover Beach fitted the bill. The hotel was really friendly ...the staff were really helpful and warm. Nothing was too much trouble The rooms were big airy and spotless...very comfortable. The facilities at the hotel were just what we needed. Great bar and resturant. The beds were really comfortable We had a great stay despite having limited time. The beach views are lovely despite the sea being choppy. A good cost effective solid choice.
Breakfast was wonderful, loved the fresh fruit, the staff were very eager to please and helpful
Just one morning when cleaning around the pool area they washed alligator to pool
Staff was very supportive and looked out everyone.
Not much breakfast options
Everything. The location was perfect and the facilities were great. Friendly and helpful staff
The location was good and customer service was good as well. Bathroom felt good as well and I like the kitchenette.
The towels in the room felt old, closet , bed head looked old as well.
It was a nice experience for a tropical Christmas, located on the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even gave us a lovely (and unexpected) Christmas gift. The food was good and the welcome rum punch party included fresh, tasty finger food. The price was so affordable that I'll be going back in August to celebrate my birthday. The room met my requirements to be CLEAN and QUIET! Although I did have to walk up a flight to my room it wasn't too bad. I had a small fridge and microwave. The lock box was a minimal daily charge. I did an in-house massage which was very relaxing. St. Lawrence Gap is loaded with places to go for more entertainment and beaches and a supermarket nearby.

The location of the hotel
Was not clean at all. Housekeeping did a very bad job. They never in my whole stay cleaned thoroughly and were very unfriendly. Was definitely NOT the value for my money
Quiet, comfortable, friendly staff
Nothing
Top Lage Freundliche Mitarbeiter
Extrem instabiles WiFi Extrem-Sparkopf in der Dusche Sehr weiche Betten
The location is what makes us go there.
Poor WiFi in my room. As a self catering room , the kitchen is too small.
Good location
Small pool, sunbeds reserved with towels
Fantastic hotel on a quiet beach, sea view rooms, close to bars but quiet at night. Excellent location for the Gap and short walk to the main road for the bus. Staff are so friendly and helpful, nice restaurant on site, good kitchen facilities and bathroom. Two pools to chose from. Not 5 *luxury but we didn't want or need that and it was a good value for money hotel with everything we needed. Room cleaned every day. Highly recommended and will return.
Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel very well situated close to bars and restaurants in St Lawrence Gap. All staff are lovely, very friendly and welcoming.
There was a group of visitors (time sharers?) who all knew each other and who apparently visit every year, and stay a month. At the time of our arrival they had been there for 10 days. This group totally monopolised the communal areas. Putting towels on the best placed sunbeds, reserving chairs and tables, reserving other sunbeds on the sun terrace at the same time in the early hours of the morning, preventing them from being used by others even when they weren't using them themselves. We wanted a chilled holiday, not confrontation so let it slide although I had to draw the line when they met for a coffee and loud chat by the pool at 6:30am just outside our room. I feel this situation should be better managed by the hotel and ground rules ensuring consideration for others should be laid down. I am sure repeat business will have been lost because of the situation.
Friendly staff and bar /restaurant
Rooms could be better equipped
There wasn't much to like . The front desk staff was courteous that was about it .
The chaos outside of the hotel in terms of finding a parking space to check in was frustrating . I requested that there be something special set up in the room as it was a birthday celebration: Nothing was set up . We went to dinner the night and were literally locked out from getting in to our room through the outer gate. We had to call the front desk to get the access code. What if we were being attacked? The distance from the room to the pool was a no no , so we didn't go. The cleaning staff on the morning were way, way too noisy. They spoke to loudly and too much to each other across the balcony . It was truly disturbing. One lady knocked on the door , we told her we were not ready to check out and someone came again in less than an hr ( we still had plenty of time to check out) . Not to mention her saying out loudly " that man smell real good yah" , to whomever. That was unprofessional. A compliment yes ,but still very very unprofessional. The noise from the adjacent hotel ( as we later found out , whilst checking out); woke me up , gave me an instant migrane. Will I stay at your hotel again or will I recommend it to anyone? The answer is a resounding No
Very clean. Love the 2 pools to use. Staff so nice and helpful. Location on beach, and had access to beach as well for sun loungers. Thank you!!
The construction noise was “there”. But not every day.
Location, breakfasts,and friendly staff.
Everything. Everyone was so nice
The wifi was horrible. The tv kept going out
Location is great. Walking distance to many restaurants and other hotel beaches. Rooms were good. Restaurant on the premises.
Need more chairs to sit at the pool side tables. Usually groups who rent the garden rooms at the pool first floor take all the chairs. Leaving other tables without chairs.
no coffee in room and no dish soap
Flot placering helt ud til havet. God restaurant på stedet
Great location, friendly, professional staff.
Somewhat dated rooms.
We really enjoyed our week long stay at this lovely hotel. The location is perfect, a short walk from St Lawrence Gap but far enough away to be peaceful with just the sounds of the tree frogs at night. The restaurant has amazing sea views and there is easy access to a lovely beach. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning looking at the gorgeous views. We had dinner there twice too. The food was well cooked and delicious and the service was excellent- warm and friendly. We had a standard room which was very clean and was decorated in lovely bright colours, fitting with the island. It had everything we needed. We are really missing Barbados and staying at Dover Beach Hotel and hope to come back soon.
Great location
This is a small, family owned (non-chain) hotel at one end of St. Lawrence Gap. It has a great location right on the beach, and the main pool and restaurant areas both border the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurants, bars and shops of St Lawrence Gap are all within walking distance of the hotel. It may not have all the bells and whistles of a larger hotel but it's got the beach, nicely kept up pools, a great three meal a day restaurant and bar, and it is much less money than the other South Coast hotels. Our one quibble was that the internet access was usually slow.
Rooms were clean but needed updating. Our unit in the main building was facing the pool with an ocean view. There are at least three buildings in the complex that differ in view and layout. Our bedroom was tight to the edges of the bed with a main room that was open and a bit of wasted space with a small pull out couch in one corner and small table in the other. The balcony was nice but the chairs were cheap plastic and uncomfortable. The bathroom needed a gutting. Kitchen was not bad with a gas stove top and new fridge. No smoke detector visible which was concerning given the gas stove top which we never used. No dishwasher, no dish soap, no plug for the kitchen sink so I assume housekeeping simply rinsed your dishes (ugh). The hotel was close to a strip of restaurants and bars. The hotel restaurant was good, located by the pool with open air seating only.
Close to the sea and beaches. Lovely food and drink. Close to local restaurants too
Nothing
Excellent location at the beach and staff were very helpful, nice food and happy hour. well placed for visiting the island
The hotel is nice but in need of some renovation. The pictures are better than real life and our room was opposite a building site.

Beautiful location on the beach. It was nice to have a Bar/Restaurant on sight. Check in was friendly and efficient. The room was large, clean and had the needed essentials.
When we were there, they had two gals working in the Bar/Restaurant. One was very friendly. One not friendly at all. Acted like we were annoying her by being there. Everyone has personal problems, but they need to be left at home. Hopefully things have gotten better for her, therefore better for the guests. It put a bit of a damper on our evening.
Wonderful staff, great service! Will definitely be coming back again. The location was perfect! In walking distance to restaurants and bars to the Gap but far enough to not be disturbed by noise during busy night life. And Dover beach was beautiful! Was it a nice stay? Yes! Yes! Yes! Thank you Dover Beach Hotel.
The lovely cleaner and it's location
Second morning i was there asked for a toaster in my room which all rooms should come with there was no space to even make a cup of coffee the microwave was very old with rust swimming pool was dirty
Stayed a week in Dover beach hotel - block behind the hotel. Lovely room with huge comfy bed, good aircon and hot showers , kettle microwave fridge etc. nothing to worry about with cleanliness room was cleaned daily. Perfect for a hotel to rest your head in! Loungers were fine by the pool but we went out most days. They will move them into the beach but there’s then no shade at all. Lovely beach but the sea was very wavy whilst we were there so needed to go to other calmer beaches along the coast to swim.
Excellent hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are clean and brightly decorated with a kitchenette, which is great for making breakfast and lunch …and some light evening meals. This is adequately stocked for 2 persons with some kitchen utensils, crockery, and a good-sized fridge freezer. There is a 4 ring burner which you need matches for, and a microwave. If you don't want to self-cater, the hotel has a good restaurant that serves some light meals and full dinners: there is also a breakfast menu. Lovely pool area, and the location is on the beach with easy access to St Lawrence Gap and only a short walk to some good beach shacks/restaurants. There is a supermarket close for basic essentials. The hotel is near the Maxwell road, which has buses for access to Bridgetown and Oistins plus other places. Read up on buses in Barbados as there is quite a choice! Staff are pleasant and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this as a mid range hotel, and we will be back. Thank you, Dover beach, for a great stay!
Location was good for where we needed to be, staff were friendly and was good value, bed was comfy but hotel needs some refurbishment.
This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The front desk employee was extremely rude and displayed no sense of service etiquette. The hotel itself was dirty, and on my first night I found pubic hair on my bed sheets. When I called the front desk to report it, the staff member was dismissive and unhelpful. I waited an entire hour before they even attempted to provide a solution. Eventually, she sent a male security guard to change my sheets while I was still in the room. When I questioned why he was sent, she called me back with an attitude, implying that I was wrong to expect her to handle it. The whole situation was unbelievable, and it took nearly two hours to resolve, late at night about 11pm, when all I wanted was to rest. On top of that, the food was terrible and the towels were dingy. Overall, this was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I would not recommend it to anyone.
We just returned from 2-week stay at Dover beach hotel. It's a small standard quiet hotel divided in three blocks. Only block Calais is located directly on the beach. You must choose studio ocean view if you want to see ocean from your balcony. Even if the hotel is old, the room are very clean. The water is always hot and air conditioning works well. The provided articles are limited: towels, toilet paper, shampoo, hand soap and air dryer. Exterior is less well maintained than the interior. There was a bird's nest in the outside lamp on our balcony. So, no exterior light. The beach is small, but you can walk further along the seashore. When it's windy, the waves are very strongs. The parasols of the beach chairs must be change: they are all broken. The pool is small but nice with new chairs. The staff is very helpfull. They clean room every day and they help you with the tours to visit the island. There is a restaurant at the hotel. The food are good. Don't take the breakfast pakage offered on their website: we'll pay more money than "à la carte". If you walk 3 minutes, you'll find many restaurants and a minimarket. You'll find beer, wine, rhum, snaks and cook meals. You can pay in US. We recommand Dover beach hotel if you are not looking for luxury. Odette and Luc Québec Canada
Beautiful environment and ocean view
Loosen faucet and leaking toilet can be. Fixed before customers enter , no talking about roof leaking after rain.
Location was perfect, just a 5 minute walk to St Lawrence gap, close to bars and restaurants. View from the room and by the pool looking on to the beach was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant staff were a little rude and didn’t look like they wanted to be there.
Hotel was quite dated, shower head full of limescale, needs to be modernised a tiny bit, although the hospitality room to shower before going to the airport was perfect the shower was perfect.
Great location and staff. Too much smoking around pool and restaurant. Pot too allover. Pool is good and close to everything one needs. Staff are great. Clean.
Enforce no smoking or start putting up signs especially around the pool and balconies. People coming from the beach covered in sand and not using the shower. Cleaning off in the pool.
Great location beachfront and in walking distance to st Lawrence gap. Friendly & helpful staff. Family suite was spacious enough for three adults.
Our shower had very low pressure. Sometimes the bar and restaurant service was very slow, which may have been due to a shortage of staff.
Looks lovely and has good reviews but did not live up to expectations. This hotel is made up of three buildings. We weren’t in the main building but one next door. I expected a kitchenette but there was only a fridge, microwave and kettle in a tiny alcove - 2 cups and saucers and nothing else! I did get some plates and cutlery when requested but nothing seemed very well planned in the room with loads of wasted space. There are two pool areas - one in main hotel with the bar and restaurant and the other outside the apartments across the way. This was nice and quiet in a garden setting. Only had one breakfast and one lunch in the hotel which was ok but plenty of places to eat nearby. Apart from one evening, there was nothing happening in the bar area and the bar closed about 8 o’clock. Having said that, the staff were great and always happy to help.
Disappointed with the accommodations. Chipped peeling paint on the walls. Mold in the bathroom. Lack of toiletries. Old and dirty pool chairs. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The seagrape staff was excellent. Food and drinks were great.
Attentive staff. Room serviced daily. Great location
Shower upgrade and pressure could be better.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Especially Ms Patrina
Friendly sstaff.
We enjoyed the ocean front. Staff were courtious and positive. Thank you for a great stay!
Beach front property!!
Several bugs that looked like roaches. Rust on bathroom towel rack
Beach was stunning! Staff was great! Room was clean
Perfect spot if you're looking for something safe and comfortable with ease of access to transportation, local dining and a convenience store. 10/10 recommend as always!
Excellent accommodation and service! Highly recommend
No towels in the room. Water leaking through the flooring after flushing the toilet followed by a pungent smell.
The attitude of the staff at the restaurant was absolutely disgusting. Because family and friends felt so upset about the way we were treated by the staff, it ruined part of our vacation. The food as well was really horrible. There was one front desk staff that was really wonderful when we checked in but on the second day the front desk attendant attitude was absolutely horrible. We will never be staying here again.
The spacious room.
The linen needs changing at least every 2 to 3 days and not just making up the bed with the same linen.
I was only there for 1 night. Nothing to really see
Staff was friendly.
I think breakfast is served too late and it should have complimentary coffee for guests.
The property is good. We had a pleasant stay and enjoy our vacation.
My wife and I had a good experience
Renovations going on so the hotel is OK. It’s just a little older hotel but overall, I will give them GOOD.
A good stay for great prices.
Service, location, my room
Stay was to short
Although we arrived late, everything was ready at the front desk, and we were warmly welcomed after hours by the night security. Our stay was smooth and without any issues. The staff were courteous, respectful, and always friendly. The manager even checked in on us personally, which made us feel really valued. We were traveling with a physically challenged adult and had no trouble getting around with a wheelchair, even though some minor renovations were taking place. All in all, a very comfortable and welcoming family stay. We would certainly recommend this hotel.
I was satisfied with the property
B
Hotel room was dirty, outdated, and the bathroom smelled like rotten fish. We only stayed one night but couldn’t wait to be out of there.
I'm not familiar with the area, first tine to the country. I was comfortable enough to stay at the hotel.
The house keeping
The fact that that it wasn't an all inclusive the restaurant was a 5/10,
We enjoyed our stay, hotel staff was helpful in accommodating our requests for a change in room due to construction outside the door of first room. We did request a coffee maker for room first night but they must have forgotten as we never received one, we ended up going out for coffee and breakfast each day. Would definitely stay here again.
The safe was very friendly. I only went to the restaurant twice but the food really good especially their popular fish cakes. It's close to the parties and a the beaxhes plus it was a good location to the Cropover festivities. My only complaint was my room. Toilet, tap and shower needed fixing. I actually had to access the toilet tank to flush it. The a shower left water all over the floor. I had requested it to be fixed but it never happened.
Room interior decor quite dated, also not very clean( other person’s hair found on bed sheets), noise and other people speaking can be heard from adjacent room.
Good hotel, near the beach. Would stay again. Appreciate the laundry on site allowing me to wash my clothes. Staff was very friendly and helpful
The location of the hotel. The staff were tooo good and helpfull. Always ready to help.
For the price I would expect more for a hotel room, seem to be an old hotel, needs make over. The pictures vs reality differs. Breakfast can be better.
Thank you!
The room is a 2 stars in American standards and served our purpose of spending the night before checking into next door sandals next morning. The room is very outdated and AC leaked all night and did not cool the room very well. The room needs deep cleaning.
