Rostrevor was like coming home. Have been to Barbados over a dozen times, normally in the St Lawrence Gap area as it is convenient. We have stayed at Rostrevor three times previously and two years ago took a friends advice to try another hotel in "The Gap" that had good reviews and she had enjoyed. So we did and regretted it!! So this year back to Rostrevor and we had room 309 from the 1st May for ten days. Although the Almond Tree Restaurant does breakfast, as the room has its own kitchenette we make our own breakfast, with cereal, fruit juice and omelettes and there is pure pleasure in sitting out on the balcony looking over the ocean and being joined by the numerous birds who seem to live around the hotel and fly in for their breakfast. One small bird was so fearless that one day whilst I was relaxing on the bed he came in via the balcony and hopped onto the bed. That deserved some cooked rice we had! Given that May is generally a quiet month there was no issue getting a sunbed, as others had previously reported, and the only downside was when we last visited the hotel had its own small beach, but that has disappeared under water now following the 2024 hurricane. So if you want a beach to swim in the sea then either a walk to Worthing beach or Dover beach. Recommend Oistins on a Friday night and most fortnights horse racing at the Garrison Savannah which is enjoyable. Bridgetown has lost some of its previous sparkle with the once vibrant Broad Street now a shadow of its former self. Covid has clearly taken its toll on many shop keepers and trade with a number of now empty premises. The pool at the hotel is a good size and impressed with the renovated reception area. Staff as always very helpful and was again able to catch up with an old school friend who lives on the island. Rostrevor is a great hotel for position, facilities, and relaxation, so much so that we have already booked to return next May. Very happy to recommend.
Sea view room 309 beautiful to sit on the balcony every morning looking at the turquoise sea beautiful Our room was self catering and everything we needed includes beech towels Cleaners came in every day and they work hard in that heat. Reception staff are very helpful. They organised a catamaran trip and was picked up from hotel had a lovely time would recommend this Went to Hole town and oistins Did a 5 hour tour of the island with a taxi driver was good. Saw Rihannas childhood house. 5th time in barbados 1st time at this hotel And will return Bar staff Berna and Mark (Easy boy) and very lovely looked after everyone. Happy hour 12pm to 1pm and 5pm to 6pm Could do with bar being open abi longer Had a really lovely time here and missing it already Met some lovely people See you soon Barbados
Lovely staff excellent location. Breakfast lovely
Very loud in rooms at night from the karaoke bar across the road.

No beach
This holiday was initially booked by my now husband as a 50th birthday gift for me. We then got engaged in october 2025 and decided to double up and get married at the hotel as well. Jennifer and Toree made all the necessary arrangements for the wedding for us before we arrived. When we arrived our room (202) was amazing with a kitchen living area with TV dining room table and a good size balcony that had the most amazing sea views. The bedroom was a good size with a decent sized bathroom with shower. The overall hotel was big enough with a good amount of sun beds for everyone and it never felt crowded even at breakfast. We were bed and breakfast so every morning it was a joy to go and see the team an older man some days and an older lady the other days, they always greeted us with a smile and a good morning. The rooms could do with a little bit of TLC but overall they were fine. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh clean towels provided if you needed them. There was a decent sized pool and steps down to a rocky area where you were able to swim in the sea and see turtles of they were about. the hotel overall is good value for money. The location of the hotel is perfect on St. Lawrence gap, bars and restaurants a plenty, Sharkeys Bar was one of our favourites, Beautiful beaches everywhere all within walking distance of the hotel. I had read reviews about the noise from the bars, it is a bit noisy but if you shut the windows and the bathroom door that solves the problem. There is a massys supermarket 20 minutes walk away that has a great range of fresh produce including waitrose products if you want a bit of home but as you can imagine expensive. There is a good bus service and lots of taxis, including the reggae buses which are fun. The island itself is not massive but we hired a car which the hotel arranged for about £30 a day and we were then able to drive to some of the other places like Bathsheba, Speightstown, Sandy Lane and Bridgetown, you could probably drive around the whole island in a day. A big shout out to Toree from rostrevor who was there for our wedding and made sure everything was on track. The wedding day was very relaxed and went off smoothly, we were married in front of the sea in the hotel grounds a simple service, surrounded by our dear friends.
Fantastic holiday I travelled solo and didn’t feel out of place, the room was comfortable and clean staff very friendly and helpful, great location, lots to do in walking distance
the Rostrevor is in an ideal spot on the Gap. the staff were lovely and even found the manchester derby for me to watch at breakfast one day. the rooms are large and airy and the balcony is ideal for having a glass of wine on while listening to the sea and watching the beautiful sunset. the only reason it hasn't got 5 stars is because the pool area is a little tired and people were putting towels on sunbeds at 6am and not getting to the pool till late morning and despite notices there was never any action taken to remove them. all in all though thanks for a great stay
The hotel was excellent, staff were so helpful, the views were amazing and the hotel and rooms were spotless. This is a great hotel. In particular the customer service from the reception was so helpful to a solo traveller and Janise who worked on reception is an asset to this hotel. She has a 5 star customer service attitude, she could not have been more friendly and helpful and courteous.
Good location for exploring as near to amenities, the local ZR raggae buses run regularly to other locations on West Coast. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby to eat out. Recommend Sharkeys opposite The Rostrevor and Harlequin, next door and Tabu up the road. Our room was clean and comfortable and cleaned daily. We stayed in room 418 looking directly out to the ocean from our balcony. The balcony was private and not overlooked. The shower was hit and miss and had to keep it running for a while before warm water came through but managed by showering between 5-5.30 every evening. We stayed B&B but wished we had self catered as bought cereal and bread from convenience store. Breakfast was limited menu and processed food. The omelette was nice but dont want that every day. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Great hotel in a great location. Lots of room outside to find your own space on a sunbed. The bar and pool restaurant are basic but perfectly fine. Some parts of the hotel are a little dated but the photos make that clear. It was great value and the usual high standards of staff and cleanliness you expect in Barbados. There are plenty of sunbeds and the view is incredible. The Harlequin Restaurant is part of the hotel and is always very good.
Breakfast and bar service can be a little slow. There is a lovely small piece of beach you can gain direct access to from the gardens but be aware, there can be some strong currents at this point of the sea. If the sea is at all rough, it covers the beach so can't be used. No problem, the amazing safe Dover Beach is 300m away
Die Lage direkt am Meer. Das freundliche Personal. Die Sauberkeit.
Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstücksangebot könnte Abwechslungsreicher sein.
Lovely location on the seafront. Huge rooms.
Nothing.
The location was excellent & having a room with a beach front view was the cherry on top!
Not enough pillows & noise from the restaurants to the front at night.
Rostrevor hotel has stunning views of the sea. The service was excellent and the staff are so helpful. The accommodation is spotlessly clean with everything you could need. The location is ideal as within walking distance of lots of restaurants and ,bars and Dover beach is a short walk away. Would definitely stay again.
Tout C était la troisième fois que nous venions et nous reviendrons l année prochaine Le cadre, la proximité des animations et restaurants, les plages et les membres du personnel Nous nous sentons comme à la maison et n aimerions pour rien au monde dormir ailleurs
Loved the ocean view and right on the strip. Store next door and felt totally safe.
Karaoke was noisy first night but stopped hearing it after that! Able to sleep fine.
Fabulous not fancy but very comfortable fabulous view from balcony all staff we came across were lovely. Booked again for next year!
Nothing
Location, room size, pool

Nettes Hotel in belebter Gegend. Trotzdem ruhig. Frühstück war gut. Sehr sauber. Abends tolle Unterhaltung in der Nähe.
Sehr kleiner Wasserzugang.
Location
Limited dining hours
We had 12 nights here in a one bedroom apartment with Ocean view, it was absolutely brilliant, all staff were so were great, nothing any trouble for them. Our apartment was spacious, fresh towels every day, bedrooms cleaned every day too. We are planning to revisit next year, location was spot on. Thank you to all staff for making our holiday so special
Room size, kitchenette, close to restaurants and walkable to the Main Road.
Great location in St. Lawrence Gap. Good breakfast (for which we paid extra). Lovely spacious room with balcony and seaview.
Bar lacked any atmosphere
The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean.
Ideally located in the centre of st Lawrence gap leaving everywhere in walking distance
Clean hotel. Easy access to the pool area. One of the reception staff with glasses was very nice and helpful. House keeping staff were helpful especially when we requested extra cooking utensils. Hotel located by the sea and one could hear the waves all. night! Made for a restful sleep. Room was spacious. Looked exactly like the photos on the website!
Location of our room, directly opposite the car park. Noisy trolleys and staff in the mornings! Hotel billed as on the beach however the usable beach is a 5 minute walk down the street. Expensive shops on the street! Best to get a taxi to the closest supermarket and stock up on necessities.
We have just got back from a great stay at The Rostrevor. For our first time on this amazing island it was the perfect hotel for us. All the hotel staff were just so amazing, but a big shout out to Verna, you really are a diamond Love the Liverpool Ladies. Until next time.
Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable accommodation .walking distance to local restaurants
Lovely clean comfortable room and bed. Large balcony with a sea view. Car parking space. Most of the staff were very jolly and helpful. Late check out available.
I requested an early check in and were not told no, so we arrived early only to be told we could not check in until after 4pm. As we were only staying 1 night I would have appreciated a reminder to book the restaurant at least a week in advance as it was fully booked when we tried to book 3 days before.
Clean, fab location and lovely staff
Nothing
Closer to beach and easier to park
Some staffs are okay, when we got into the restaurant, most of the waiters are rude or disinterested. For breakfast, they have given a seat with an unwelcoming behavior and made us to wait around 30 mins, none came to take the order and even when I asked the waiters they told they will come back and none came back. Finally walked off. While coming out a waiter came running behind us shouting that you need to sign the check before you leave. So I have explained to her that we have waited 30 mins and none took the order and we have not eaten anything. She has given a cold look and we left from there and need to go out a different breakfast place and things were good there. Stayed 2 nights and both days we went out and eat. Stayed at Rostrevor and experience was much better than this.
We loved the location and the beds for sleeping - does need a refurbished but we understand that is coming later in the year almond tree is fab - we couldn't get a booking at the harlequin
Just need the door to.fit snuggly so the noise is reduced from the street - 3am noise is coming from the strip
First time at the Rostrevor hotel and we had a great stay here - right in the middle of St Lawrence Gap, clean spotless hotel and rooms, large beds, ocean view 4th floor room with a lovely balcony ! Great staff too - special shout out to Verna and Mark (AKA Easyboy) in the almond tree restaurant and bar - so attentive and smiley all throughout our stay :)
Fantastic room with direct view over ocean. Spacious, clean and with friendly staff. Great location with restaurants and pubs all around, and easy walking distance to nearby beaches. Highy recommend, great value for money.
It worked
Room position on side of hotel
Staff were helpful.
Good for 1 night on layover. Not for extended stay. Not in a good state of repair.
The swimming pool was beautiful, other guests very friendly and nice to talk to, location near a small shop to buy groceries and couple of nice restaurants nearby. Felt very safe to walk on my own during the evening in surrounding area. Music from karaoke bar was loud, but I got used to it and made me even giggle.
.
.
Good location on ocean, nice pool, good restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Comfortable room, not fancy but clean. Good restaurants nearby for dinner. Staff was always helpful and friendly. Good for pre-cruise stayover
Street noisy at night, lots of partying. Not a big put off.
We were on the fourth floor with a lift in a nice studio with a small well equipped kitchenette The view from the spacious balcony was absolutely beautiful over the pool to the left and the gorgeous turquoise sea with crashing waves ahead. Perfect for just relaxing. There was a small convenience store 100 metres away which doesn’t look anything but seems to sell everything and a few bars and restaurants across the road. Pick up from thee airport and transfer to the cruise port was organised through the hotel and perfect
The hotel is well-maintained and well-located - convenient to restaurants, has its own small beach and within a five minute walk to a large beach, nice decor. All staff was helpful and most were friendly. The Almond Tree is a great amenity and we enjoyed the twice-daily happy hours.
Noise from the unit above was annoying and could be easily be reduced by applying felt stick-on pads to the bottoms of the legs of the wooden tables and chairs that were often dragged across the ceramic floor above us. The quality of pillows could be improved.
Good position, great sea views, very clean, comfortable beds excellent, friendly staff. Near good restaurants.
Property dated and in need of a refurbishment
View Fantastic
It’s location to everything
The location and the pool area. Friendly, helpful staff.
Big room. Beautiful view. Clean
The room was not ready when we arrived at 3pm although 2pm was the advertised check in. We only waited 15 minutes, but i was very tired from the flight and wanted a shower.
Comfortable convenient hotel - we stayed 3 nights en route to another Caribbean Island and one night on the return journey. Lovely and clean, friendly helpful staff. Great freshly cooked breakfasts on the terrace at reasonable prices. Close to a number of good local restaurants.
Not enough sun loungers and there seemed to be a lot of hotel guests 'reserving' them by putting towels out early and then never using them until much later in the morning or even nearer lunchtime!!! Soooo annoying - and selfish!
Great location & very helpful, friendly staff.
A bit dated and could do with a bit of renovation . Everything operational just old.
Location is fantastic. Our Room was cleaned daily and towels changed
A little dated
Läget!!! Sjöutsikten! Stranden!
Lite slitet på sina ställen….. typ solsängar skulle behöva uppdateras. Många gäster som bokat upp solsängar mycket tidigt….
The two restaurants had good food and very nice associates. The kitchen dinnerware and cookware were all in new condition and matched sets. The location was great.
People reserving the lounge chairs but many not using them. Management needs to address this. Mattresses are saggy and bed pillows lumpy. These need replacement.
Good location. Great views
Small beachfront
Been here many times but fear it will be our last the hotel has imported the benidorm mob people putting towels on sunbeds at 5 in morning then not returning till 1030 shame because hotel has nice rooms are good and views are stunning staff nice and bar area good all in all a nice trip ruined by selfish guests
Liked the location.
Was disappointed in the beach. They need more sun loumgers and newer sun loungers.
We loved this hotel and i cannot recommend it enough. We had an ocean front suite, the view was stunning and the room was clean and comfortable. You cannot beat the location, walkable distance to everything but still nice and quiet. Staff were all incredibly friendly and offered recommendations. We are already looking to return and I will recommend this to my clients.
All staff were lovely. Felt very safe as night time security on front gate. Large room, good shower
The view of the ocean was stunning. I liked the availability of bars and restaurants close to the hotel and the small beach and chance to swim in the ocean.
We requested an early check in as we had just left a ship at Bridgetown. We were told it was possible dependent on availability. Unfortunately we were waiting around until after 4pm and had to make a complaint. We were let into the room after that.
lovely hotel with good size rooms excellent views and great location on strip staff lovely and helpful where ever in hotel nice menu in bar and reasonable prices especially happy hour bar staff excellent and so friendly they also change Monet at reception lovely decent size my only fault would be more sun loungers but apart from that I would highly recommend this hotel and before I forget stunning views
Breakfast was amazing. Staff superb. Room facilities and comfort superb
pool towels more readily available. More sunbeds
We had 2 separate visits pre and post cruise. The first visit we had room 412 which was a very nice sea facing room, well appointed. The post cruise visit not so good in room 112, room not as well appointed, despite being same category
There is no safe sea access and the hotels photos are misleading on this. Some sun loungers need replacing and unless you are up before 7am loungers are all "reserved", (and not used for some time) hotel should do something to stop this.
This was a very convenient place to stay with a lot of bars and restaurants nearby. The room was nice and spacious but not luxurious. The hotel had a good pool and lounging area with a pool bar as well. The access to the sea was small and rocky and with the water being rough we did not attempt it. The staff was fine to us not overly friendly but nice enough to deal with.
Good for a one night stay after a late landing flight,
Noises from bars
Everything about this stay was fantastic. The staff were so helpful and the rooms were exactly as described. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed spending time around the pool area. The breakfast was fresh each morning and cooked very well. We'll definitely be back!
The hotel is in a great location but there is some noise from neighbouring properties late at night - but this is of course to be expected.
Location very central, staff very friendly and rooms overlook the oceans. The beach was just about swimmable, the chairs by the pool were all reserved by people leaving towels (but almost no-one using them) from about 8:30am but some did become available later in the day.
Quite noisy at night.
Very clean and ocean front with very small swimming area
Small beds, a bit dated and ambient noise from bars across road
Spotlessly clean and lovely friendly staff. Great comfortable room although slightly noisy from nearby bars / restaurants. Close to local bars and good restaurants. We will be staying there again.
Sun loungers !! A very few new ones but mainly old ones that sagged so much you got stuck in them and not enough sun umbrellas!
Location was fabulous easy access to everything
Nothing
Location and comfort
I have stayed in a lot of hotels throughout the years but the Rostrevor Hotel has definitely the most unfriendly, unhelpful reception staff I have ever encountered. In particular there were 2-3 more mature members of reception staff who were exceptionally rude, unwelcoming and very hostile. The younger reception staff were more pleasant. When we arrived, I politely requested some complimentary blue pool towels, as I could see the other guests had them. I then was instructed (ordered sternly) to go to the hotel laundry by the receptionist. For someone arriving for the first time to this hotel, I had absolutely no idea where the laundry was. Yet other guests who arrived just after us were given blue complimentary hotel towels at the reception desk. When I tried to return the white towels from the laundry later that day, the laundry was closed. I explained that at the reception desk and was shouted at by the receptionist to go back to the laundry (for a 3rd time)! I explained the laundry was closed and she refused to accept return of the towels. The hotel is in a good location but quite dated. First impressions count, and unfortunately the unfriendly, frosty and hostile reception staff have put me off ever returning to the Rostrevor Hotel. I grew up in the hospitality industry and there is absolutely I would never have greeted or treated a hotel guest the way I was spoken to.
Close to shops and restaurants.
Insects
Bra utrymme- fantastisk utsikt
Solstolar i dåligt skick och många britter som ”paxade” alla solsängar tidigt. Hög musik från andra sidan gatan.
the hotel is in a fabulous position by the sea and within walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants in the gap...good value for money and the little pool bar is very reasonable and they even found manchester derby for me. Only one downside is the fact that sunbeds are all gone by about 6.30am and people just wander off to have breakfast etc...not a huge issue as there is a fantastic beach 5 mins away
Fantastic stay in Barbados for the first time. Definitely recommend St Lawrence Gap for good restaurants and bars on the strip. The private beach was great at Rostrevor with a larger public beach just 5mins walk.
Cleanliness, Facilities and Location.
N/A
Great location with the beach and nightlife right on your doorstep. Clean and spacious rooms - modest but comfortable. Lovely poolside area and a small cove for sea bathing.
Property is in a good Location, great staff
Can be noisy late at night
Rymliga rum, fin miljö, perfekt lokaliserat med ett litet men bra utrustat gym
views were amazing beds were comfy good cooking facilities
sometimes hard to get a sun lounger bar times and food times at the pool
Very kind hotel staff, nice furnished hotel even kind older style but very well maintained. Amazing view and we liked the location which is the best in Barbados. Hotel is located only 300 metres from the best public beach in Barbados where u can swimm with turtles. We had a car so no problem with parking at all.
Swimming pool area need to be renovated and no beach at all. Hotel has just small access to the sea. For us it was not a problem because 300 metres was amazing white sand beach and we walked there every day if we did not travel cross the island.
All of the higher rooms have excellent sea views. We were on the 4th floor and although we've been several times before, this was the best room we'd been in. Rostrevor overlooks a tiny beach surrounded by rocks but this elevated position is part of the attraction. Huge sandy beaches are a 2 minute walk away for those preferring beach to pool, and you're surrounded by restaurants in walking so definitely don't need a car. 15-20minute taxi from the airport - it's a brilliant location!
Nothing!
location was nice
They will tell you on the phone that they will send a shuttle to the airport for you. They will not!!!!! they don't have a shuttle. the charge will not be reimbursed to you either., for a taxi.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Near plenty bars and restaurants. Staff in the hotel bar are just lovely so so friendly. Food in there is nice too. Stayed here a few times. My only down side is the pool. Always scummy so puts me off going in. Otherwise it’s great. Rooms are pleasant
