Location on the beach and St.Lawrence Gap was great!
The construction going on at the pool area.
Beach, fish
Older but don't Renos while I was there
Had a great time at this hotel .The staff were all excellent, sorry if we can't remember all their names but Kenneth, Shirley,Michelle sounds familiar, again apologies to ones we missed but we are returning next year. From the staff on the beach to the security, each one spoke to us every day. The room we had was maybe a bit tired but how long do you spend there. The people off Barbados 🇧🇧 are probably the most friendly people we have met. Thank you! Iain Judith Grace and David
My husband and I spent 9 days here attending a wedding and I cannot say enough about the amazing time we had. The entire resort is spotlessly clean and everyone who works there is friendly and attentive to your needs. The beach and pool area are fabulous and the location of having restaurants and bars right on your street means you can walk to most of them. We will definitely be coming back here in the future!!!
Currently staying here and cannot fault the place. The staff from groundsmen, cleaners, bar and restaurant staff are just lovely! I’ve been to Barbados many times as I have family here but not been for 20 years! Perfect location in the gap, taxis outside or we used pickup app. Lots of bars etc and dive bar on sat have fabulous band on! Nothing is too much trouble and if you report an issue it’s dealt with straight away. Beach is beautiful, yes lots of seagrass but you can’t control that. Oistins Friday is just fabulous. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
This place needs knocking down, the service is awful, the staff are hostile and just do not want to be there, awful rude beach guy called Rodney who is miserable as sin, if you want lunch it will take about 2 hours, so many more hotels that will give you what you pay for, avoid Christmas time because a strange type of family who own the property stay there and all the staff tend to them and leave the paying customers to wait 2 hours for the food and drinks that they’ve ordered, the place is a dump and for what it costs just beggers belief.
We booked an ACV supersaver room with Air Canada Vacations, and received room 243. Our package included transfer, we had no issues at customs on arrival (pre-filled our arrival form), and didn't have to wait long to be transferred. It took about 15 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel. Room: Supersaver room 243, faces the gap and has a wee European style balcony (lots of room for one person, just enough room for two). A bit of road noise, but nothing disruptive. We had a king bed, a mini fridge, a kettle. The AC worked wonderfully and there was no trace of dampness or must in the room. The shower worked well and we had no issues with hot water, we were also provided a hair dryer. We had 4 pillows of varying firmness, and the bed was very comfy! We were actually thoroughly impressed with our room, only notes for improvement would be more hangers to hang clothing (lots of storage in drawers, but not much space in the closet), a kettle with a longer cord (we had difficulty finding a good location to plug it in), and 2 sets of towels per person instead of one (we usually only have our room made up twice in a 7 night period, and we know we could have asked for towels at any time, I'm sure they would have accommodated). Note on construction: the hotel is replacing the walkways at this time. The construction is starting at approximately 7:30 am and is ongoing throughout the day. It is not especially disruptive, though depending on where your room is located you might hear some machinery that they use to move the bricks around. Not sure how long this will be ongoing for, but I do believe they plan to replace all the walkways on the property so perhaps over the summer months. The beach: Dover beach is beautiful, but there was quite a bit of seaweed that washed in the week we were here (May 29-June 5). It made swimming in the ocean unappealing, though we are not big ocean swimmers anyways. The sand is beautiful and we had the great privilege of witnessing a sea turtle dig her nest, lay her eggs, and then return to the ocean (please don't approach closely or shine lights on them, it's very disruptive!). We saw evidence of nests on several occasions, and the Barbados Seat Turtle Project volunteers are out documenting the nests as well. They have a hotline you can call to report nesting turtles (246-230-0142). Such a wonderful experience, though we were too early to see hatchlings. :) Hotel grounds: the grounds of this hotel are lovely with lots of loungers and decent shade opportunities. There is mini golf and shuffle board. The two pools on site are well maintained, the main pool is a bit larger and the secondary pool is quite small (we did not try that one out). There are several very friendly cats who will hang out with you, and may even try to follow you up to your room. Restaurants: we ate at the restaurant on several occasions (twice for dinner and twice for lunch, plus drinks on several occasions). The happy hour is a pretty good deal, but the wine here is expensive. Beer is also pricey compared to what you can buy at the local streetfood places or even the convenience stores close by. We brought some wine from home, and there was also wine for sale at the convenience stores close by. All the food that we ate was very tasty. We tried the curry, the flying fish plate (excellent macaroni pie), the flying fish cutter, and the roti. The lunchtime roti are an excellent deal, get the shrimp one it's delicious! It's a little pricy compared to the local streetfood, but on par with the more established sit down restaurants (Mimosas, My Friend's Place, etc.). The service: everyone who we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. We didn't find anyone to be surly (though not everyone was performatively happy). We had wonderful service from the ladies in the restaurants and Eurita even brought me some recipes for local Bajan specialties, which was so kind of her. :) Entertainment: this resort is very chill and that's one of my favourite things about it. No entertainment staff yelling at you to participate in things. No blaring music or people yelling into microphones. There's evening entertainment some nights, which is chill but they were all talented. There's a steel drum band on Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings. There was also a Rum Punch cocktail reception with management on Monday evening. Location: we were about 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Oistins, and 7 minutes from Champers by cab. We were walking distance to a wide variety of food and drink options, ranging from budget to fancy. The Gap can get lively in high season, but we didn't find it too crazy at this time of year. Overall: we loved this hotel and the relaxing chilled vibe. We'd come back in a heartbeat and are already dreaming of our next stay.
4th time at Southern Palms and a great experience again! Highlights - massages at the salon, Sunday Bajan Buffet with the Barbados Steel Band, good room with a sea view, lovely clean pool, the turtles, tasty food and a relaxed vibe. The only disappointing part (and no fault of the hotel) was the large cumulations of seaweed daily. Such a stunning beach but we did not use it because of this. We went to Savvy on the Bay and Pebbles to get our beach fix. However, we had a wonderful stay as always and would love to return one day soon 🇧🇧❤️
This place is beautiful! The beach is incredible and there were turtles everywhere. You could just swim around them. Also - we weren’t mad on our first room as was right next to the pool and they kindly allowed us to move rooms and we were so grateful. The receptionist was so lovely - thank you so much!
Nothing.
The hotel is excellent location. On one off the best beach’s. Never gets busy. The reception staff ( some ) could be more friendly. As there the first port of call. Rest off staff very friendly. Very clean . The rooms are dated but perfect for Barbados. Excellent air conditioning. Fridge freezer in room. Food in restaurant very nice. Don’t be in a rush as it’s so relaxed. On the beach every day. No need to rush for beds as plenty
We have just returned from an amazing holiday at this hotel. The perfect place for visiting bars and restaurants in the Gap. The hotel was located on the beach which was idyllic. The hotel and staff were superb, with special thanks to Kelly, Jennie & Richard who were very helpful and understanding when we had a slight problem with our room. We look forward to our return.
The staff manage to combine indifference with rudeness, offering the bare minimum unless there’s a rule to enforce. In those moments, their enthusiasm is suddenly impressive.
Loved the location and staff was PHENOMENAL!!!
Restroom was extremely small.
My partner and I loved this hotel when booking requested a ground floor terrace as I have mobility issues I have to say southern palms was charming along with friendly staff who went out of there to please betty who worked in the bar restaurant was so full of fun and we didn't have to ask what we wanted knew exactly the relaxed atmosphere with a walk straight onto beach pool was right outside of apartment infact enjoyed so much looking to go back either next year or 2028
My stay at this property exceeded my expectations! The staff members are consummate professionals who extended themselves to accommodate my needs during my stay. A huge “Thank You!” to the following front desk agents: Caroline, Jenni, and Shakeem, and Makayla in Food & Beverage. They ensured that I enjoyed a fantastic stay! This property is located on a quiet, pristine stretch of beach, although the current can be a bit strong occasionally. My room had fantastic views of the ocean and was just steps away from the beach. Overall, I enjoyed a fun and relaxing stay at this property, and highly recommended Southern Palms Beach Club to anyone who visits Barbados! Thanks for a memorable stay! 😁
Struttura favolosa fronte mare ai caraibi
Bagno con tendina nella doccia, un box doccia sarebbe stato più funzionale
Good and bad points listed below; Good * Very clean * Beach (not sea) is beautiful * Situated in the middle of St Lawrence Gap (this could be a double edged sword...) * No problem with getting a sun lounger * Pools OK * Late checkout room great Bad * Staff are generally stand-offish and slow, appreciate that this is the Caribbean way but this was taking it to the extreme. Notable exceptions are Jenni, Richard, the Water sports guy and most of the cleaning staff. * St Lawrence Gap isn't a very nice area in my opinion and there are limited options for things to do in the evening. The bars aren't great and the restaurants shut far too early. There is a general feeling of something potentially kicking off at any moment and lots of locals trying to sell you weed/aloe vera/jewellery/tours. Just doesn't feel 100% safe. * Rooms are dated. * Food and drinks are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. This is a general comment for all of Barbados, bring plenty of money. * Breakfast underwhelming and not worth anywhere near the price charged. * BBQ night hugely overpriced and not very good. * The sea in this area (Dover Beach) is consistently too rough to swim in, we had red flags 10 days out of 11. It is also very windy on the beach. We travelled up the West coast and the sea was far calmer and it was a lot less windy. This isn't the hotel's fault but worth knowing before you book. * Very boring around the hotel of an evening (not that we usually stay in the hotel at night but sometimes it's nice to have a break from going out), entertainment a couple of nights a week but the clientele are mostly older people. Would we return? Yes to Barbados but we would stay on the West coast in a nicer resort. We did have a good time at Southern Palms (believe it or not!) but for the money we spent, we expect more.
This was our 4th visit. The location is incredible. Staff are all fabulous. Great vibe. Wouldn't stay anywhere else
Some of the rooms could do with a bit of updating but the location and staff outweigh it
Took my husband to the Khus Khus Bar at Southern Palms Hotel for his 30th birthday and it was so lovely ! From the atmosphere to the live music to the happy hour ( 6pm-7pm ) , to the Southern Platter ( starter ) to the serrvice , it was absolutely top tier and honestly can’t wait to go again ! We didn’t have mains because we were stuffed tbh . Our server for the evening/night was Ms. Corren and she was such a sweet lady ; also was attended to by Abigail and Suzette and they were also very nice . 100 % would recommend anyone to go and experience there🥰!
Stayed here for 12 nights in a luxury room on a B&B basis, the staff were very friendly and helpful when we needed anything. The hotel is nice but a bit dated and could do with a bit of modernisation but its position on the beach is wow! Room cleaned every day with fresh towels and you change your beach towels at reception or by the mini Golf. The breakfast was fine but really you could do room only as there are plenty of places to eat for breakfast. There are plenty of sunbeds on the beach and if the parasols are gone then you can find a spot under the palms. We saw the beach guy remove sun beds from beneath parasols on two occasions as the towels had been there for hours with no one on them and when the one occasion the people returned to have a go at the people who were on the beds, as they thought they had removed their towels and taken the parasol, the beach guy came over and told them quite firmly that you cant reserve the beds all morning and not be on them, which I though was fair enough. There are plenty of restaurants for lunch and evening meals, we enjoyed Sharkys, Irie Foods, Mimosa, Castaway, Cafe Sol, Harlequin, Rebell (very cheap), Daddys Restaurant, Sand Dollar Cafe and many more. Some of these require reservations in advance. We went to Oistins on the Friday but get there early as it was packed and we struggled to get a seat but it was good fun. We went to see the horses one morning, got there at 6.30am! got a taxi as there uber works very well and then got one of the mini buses to Bridgetown and back only $3.50 per person but they do cram you in LOL, good fun though with loud reggae music blaring out. Never had a meal other than breakfast at the Hotel so cant comment on that. As for the surrounding area when out at night at no point was it ever threatening or did we fell unsafe if anything the locals were very friendly. Would I book this Hotel again? yes I certainly would.
Good location , nice staff and quick resolution to any issues that we had . Full marks to the team for making every effort to keep us comfortable
Slightly dated but any issues were resolved swiftly
All in all had a nice time . Rooms were spacious with good air conditioning (. Some drawers would have been good though ) . The rooms and hotel were also spotlessly clean . The breakfast was the best I have ever eaten . The service was good and very professional but some not all staff lacked friendliness and warmth . a smile goes a long way with customers . They have a complimentary afternoon tea this was appreciated and lovely . The entertainment was good and quite varied and the gift shop was excellent. They had plenty of sun beds dotted around and a lovely private beach although a few more umbrellas would have been nice . The pools were nice . . I felt the prices of food and drink generally were pretty steep although I have to say it was extremely high quality and fresh . We went on a few boat trips and these were great . Book early we missed out on a few good ones because we dawdled The rep was nice and very helpful . They had the friendliest cat in the world called Maxine who I believe is a boy . He followed me to my room and decided to sleep on my bed for a while . They have a few hotel cats and terrapins ( I think ) . These are really well looked after by the staff this was lovely to see . Outside the hotel most of the places we ate were excellent and of very good quality and fresh although a lot of shack type places with wooden benches - so not aesthetically appealing . we ate at Sharkeys and Mimosa and Socialites and can highly recommend all . Of these ( especially Socialites ) . The General surroundings outside the hotel .for me felt a little unsafe lots of young unfriendly men hanging around smoking weed . I wouldn’t go anywhere on my own but this may be a little unfair but it’s just a vibe I got no one said or did anything to me . All in all though was a nice hotel / experience
We chose this hotel based on location since we opted not to rent a car and the Gap definitely delivers. We walked to dinner at a different restaurant every night (Tabu was our absolute favorite), got coffee every morning at the Cake Lady and picked up drinks for the beach at the convenience store. Regarding the beach there was a lot of sargassum which obviously can't be controlled but on the west coast where we went on a tour there is none because of the way the island is situated so just FYI for those who may not know. The lifeguards were setup to the left of the hotel so our area was almost always red flagged which requires you to walk down by them to swim. My wife and son are both guards and didn't love the approach of only patrolling that one small area. The hotel also advertises complimentary windsurfing lessons but we were told the equipment broke so that's no longer available. The pools are tiny...our backyard pool is larger; the drone footage is very deceiving. Would not recommend this spot for those with younger children either as they'd be bored with just basic rectangles and no kid friendly features and the ocean is too rough for little ones. It's unusual for us not to get to know some staff members but no one went out of their way or made an impression on us. We arrived right at the 4PM check-in time and had to wait for our room so we were given rum punch tickets for the bar and found the bartender to be unfriendly right out of the gate and not much changed. The gym is a joke. You need to get a key from the front desk; your room key doesn't give you access and it's the size of a closet. Our third floor room had a great view but we had so much noise pollution from the karaoke across the street and traffic going by. The bathroom is on the street side and the vent is open air so the sounds comes blaring in well past 1AM most nights. The bath is also dimly lit, no exhaust fan so the mirror fogs over and the water pressure is non existent. Beds were lumpy and the pillows were ridiculously oversized. Housekeeping never put the decorative ones back on the beds all week but rather left them in the chairs where we had placed them to sleep. There were also microscopic bugs crawling on both the bath and kitchenette counters. There's one beach towel per person and you're charged $25 up front for each. We like to put one on the lounger and have another to use when swimming so that you're not sitting on a wet towel and finding the towel hut guy wasn't always easy for replacements. The Best of Barbados store on site is one of their better features; it has really nice quality merchandise. The 4PM tea is also a highlight with mini muffins to eat as well. There is a water cooler by the restaurant you can fill up a cup but you need to ask a bartender both for ice and to fill your own bottles with water. The WiFi was down for 2 of the days we were there with no gesture of goodwill, just a memo stuck under the door stating the obvious. Not likely to return due to it being an underwhelming experience.
It’s been 17 years since my last visit to the Southern Palms and naturally, there are some changes - but it still has the best position on a very pretty beach. The sea was rough during our visit so no swimming for us, but it was a delight to see the turtles bobbing in the sea. The hotel is still the same pink, colonial style building with rooms that are very dated - the beachfront makes up for the outdated room and bathroom. I have to admit I was disappointed in our room. The sea view room was on the ground floor near the small swimming pool. Fortunately, not right in front of the pool which isn’t my favorite room location. Being on the “senior” side of life, screaming kids in the pool right outside my room isn’t my first choice , but it ended up being okay . Not sure I’d spend the extra for that room versus a garden view. We were only there for 4 nights so perhaps better located rooms are allocated to longer stays. We enjoyed a few tasty lunches at the hotel - vegetarian options are available. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. There’s the occasional staff member who seems unhappy to be there but on the whole almost everyone we encountered was lovely. Happy hour was a great deal. We enjoyed our stay at the Southern Palms and if you accept the dated rooms - it’s a great choice in the Gap. Near to the restaurants and bars but still quiet.
I saw many good reviews for Southern Palms Beach Club and been wanting to go for a while. I was not disappointed. My room was great (2 floor room) with an awesome view of the beach. The beach itself is incredible. Even got the privilege to see baby turtles. Very grateful as its not the season for them to hatch. Special thank to Allison at the reception who took care of me when my ride back didn't show up. Also to Rodney who was very pleasant and took care of clients very well. Thumbs up SP !
We’ve had a really great stay at Southern Palms overall. The location is fantastic – right on a beautiful beachfront and within easy walking distance to St Lawrence Gap. It’s also directly across from Happy Days Café and My Friends Place which is so handy. The beach itself is absolutely stunning. The staff are genuinely lovely and welcoming. We also went to the BBQ dinner during the week and the food was outstanding – such a great evening. The hotel offers really useful extras too. We were able to hire a car directly from reception which made things so easy, and even hire umbrellas when it was raining. There’s also a mini golf course which we’ve really enjoyed playing. The whole setting is picture perfect, and the view from my balcony is honestly incredible. However, for me personally, the cleanliness of the rooms could be improved. The floors weren’t cleaned daily and if you walk around barefoot your feet get dirty quite quickly. With so many birds around, the balcony fills up with bird mess fast and I do feel that should be mopped away daily. Mirrors (especially the bathroom mirror) should ideally be properly glass-cleaned each day rather than just at the end of a stay. We also returned to our room at 2:30pm one afternoon and it hadn’t yet been serviced. For guests who like to get out of the sun for a while in the afternoon, later cleaning times aren’t ideal. The hotel offers a happy hour which is a great idea and the drinks are lovely, but there are very limited bar staff during that time so waiting times can be quite long. That said, the location and views are fabulous and it really is a beautiful place to stay. With improved room cleaning and a bit more attention to bar staffing, this would easily feel like a five-star experience. We would return.
The location was perfect! The variety of accommodations and buildings made it feel like it was a larger resort. The staff was exceptional. Food/drink options A+! Special thanks to Shirley, Makala, Elisha for great service with a smile.
No complaints.
We returned today from Southern Palms after another fabulous holiday. We love the relaxed atmosphere here staff and guests alike are very friendly. (A shout out to Andre and Shalisa the best bar people, super quick and friendly!!) Can’t wait to return, see you next year.
We ended our holiday at Southern Palms Beach Club with a day pass, as our Airbnb required us to vacate the villa by 11am. We were looking for somewhere to store our luggage, use the facilities, and properly relax before our flight and this was the perfect way to end our week in Barbados. From the moment we arrived, Jenni on front of house was fantastic, really warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The day pass cost 125 BDS per adult, with half redeemable against food and drink, which felt excellent value. The hotel has two lovely pools, and the complimentary afternoon tea, coffee, and delicious muffins were a really nice touch. That said, what absolutely elevated this from a nice experience to a truly memorable one was the service from Ken. He went above and beyond in every way even taking our food order directly from our sunbeds so it arrived at the restaurant within a minute of us sitting down, recommending some superb drinks, and even capturing some brilliant family photos for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Honestly, I’d return just for Ken. His service alone made the experience a full 10/10 and the perfect finale to our holiday.
Just stayed at the Southern Palms Beach club and what a delight it was. Food was great with good portions, stayed half board, we were worried as previously we had stayed at the Sands Hotel and the food was awful, however no need to worry. Rooms are dated but like a number of hotels in Barbados they are old colonial style but spacious. Beach is fantastic with no rocks. Staff are friendly especially Eurita, Francis and Ronaldinho, drinks are a decent quality and a decent price. Happy hour gets busy from 6-7pm. Entertainment is provided some nights and is ok, however the age group does tend to be older. I felt sorry for some younger guests as they must have thought they were in Gods waiting room! Great location on the gap, we loved going to the chattel bars by Daddies and mix with the locals - perfectly safe and great to watch them sing on the Karaoke. Most definitely will return to this Hotel.
Fantastic location right on beautiful beach and close to bars and restaurants Good size, comfortable room and bathroom(with plentiful hot water) and lovely sea view balcony
Decor a little bit ‘tired’ In house restaurant service a bit slow
The hotel is a lovely pink colour what made it for me was the beautiful beach it’s the best beach I’ve ever seen. However I think the food and hotel charges were very expensive. Room was cleaned to a very high standard. Had dinner in the restaurant a few nights and had to wait up to one hour to be served. It was nice not having to fight for a deck chair on a daily basis as there was a lot of seating to choose from. My room had a good view overlooking the pool and the sea.
We had a very wonderful time at this hotel, our view from room 242 was superb, had a early morning cuppa on the balcony, listening to the birds and watching the ocean waves roll. The hotel is very clean, our room was always lovely and clean, our bed on arrival had been decorated with flowers as we were celebrating a belated 20th wedding anniversary. The food in the restaurant was of good quality, priced fairly well in comparison to other restaurants. Drinks were good, only downside was some of the staff did not show they were happy in their jobs. Entertainment was very good , was a shame we didn't hear the steel band. Beach was beautiful but did not see a turtle, sea could be a bit rough at times . Jennie on reception is a credit to the hotel as was the bell porter, how he carried our cases I do not know. We went on a trip to Harrisons Cave which was good and went to Harbour Lights near Carlisle Bay, both were a must. Met some lovely Canadian guests. Would have liked to stay longer, hope to be back sometime.
Strand Mega schön und weitläufig
Sauber ! Toller Strand
Gäste reservieren liegen mit Handtüchern Bereits nachts bzw. früh morgens
Location and beach
Very expensive for room only
Location was good close to amenities easy to get local taxi to every where if not walking . breakfast was adequate but not special tea in a pot tasted like coffee Reception staff helpful and looked after us well
Some of the staff in the dining room at breakfast were abrupt and rude at times however the older staff were lovely This put us off having evening dinner there
This hotel is perfectly located to explore the Island and has the convenience of being in St Lawrence Gap meaning plenty of bars and restaurants a short stroll away! The room we had was a good size, well equipped with kettle, small kitchenette, iron and board plus hairdryer. Shower was excellent and the bathroom was cleaned and restored each day! The beds were so comfortable meaning we slept well. The beach front location is unbeatable and the beach itself is stunning. Plenty of beds meaning you could choose to lounge on the beach or by the pool depending on your mood. Beach towels provided and can be swapped at reception when required. We have been so impressed we have booked to come back again next year!
Nice polite,helpful staff.Nice location,amazing sea views.
Gym 24 hours, but sometimes the key was missing,so I was unable to go to the gym gym. It would have been nice to keep it open with the guests have to get the key.
Location.
Nice sea views. Nice location. Nice helpful staff.
The gym was 24 hours, but you supposed to get a key from the reception to go. Sometimes the key was missing,so I was not able to go. It would have been nice and easier just to leave the gym open so no stress for someone who wanted to go anytime. There was not much in the gym,so I wondered why key and why it was closed all the time and unable to go without a key.
This property exceeded all expectations! Service, room, and the BEACH! The piece of Dover beach this property has makes it a 5-star hotel. It was never crowded, provided natural shade with the palm trees, easy rolling waves where you see turtles and even beach service. We are going back next year. Truly amazing.
Go to the spa across the street hotel. It has good prices too. Blank Canvas the spa i am pleased with my massages has anyone else visited?
Both myself and my mum were put up in this hotel overnight as our flight from Barbados got cancelled. That’s another story! #Aer Lingus We shared a garden view room and for the price we paid we would expect a lovely room. Grubby to say the least. It was dark and cold, the toilet didn’t flush properly and the bath fills up when you have a shower! You also get a kettle and glasses and a noisy fridge but no tea, coffee, water etc! We couldn’t even open the curtains as it was so overlooked. I also had the worst nights sleep EVER. I think the road outside never sleeps. Cars speeding past all night, beeping, shouting, music. And it carried on in the day. I think I must have had a couple of hours sleep. We also decided to have a snack at the bar when we arrived. The waitresses were all so miserable and we waited nearly an hour for TWO omelettes! We noticed every single person here was British too. It felt like Benidorm but in Barbados! We felt so out of place and so uncomfortable. We just couldn’t wait to leave. The hotel needs a full re vamp and nicer staff. Would never recommend it to anyone.
This was our 1st Xmas abroad and to say it hasn’t disappointed would be an understatement. Outstanding hotel and the location is paradise! We are currently in a garden room (117) which is overlooking the pool and garden terrace restaurant and also the beach! The staff are fabulous and the people in Barbados are probably one of the most hospitable and pleasant I have ever encountered. Today is Xmas day and the show they put on this morning with Santa, catapulted everyone into the spirit of the day. The children’s faces were wonderful to see. Our room is not dated as some have suggested it’s authentic to the country we are in and typically Barbadian! Do I want to leave …NO, will I be returning absolutely! The area has plenty of bars and restaurants near by and there is plenty to do here or not if you just wish to soak up the idyllic beach, sunshine and swim with the turtles! Thank you Southern Palms we be leaving to go home and start saving to come back again!
The pool and bar area was lovely and the beach amazing!
The rooms are tired. Bathroom very small and in need of updating
Stunning beach, delightful staff - Linda, Eureka, so kind
Nothing
Just leaving after another fabulous holiday at the Southern Palms. Don’t listen to the gripes about staff - if you take the time to engage then you get bit back in spades. That’s how life works… Yes, the rooms are a little tired but hey, you get what you pay for in this game. If you want a hotel that looks and feels like a million more around the globe then pay twice the price and book yourself into a West coast bubble. We will be back again soon…,,
Great beach front location and lovely pool. Lots of loungers. Water provided by the pool every day for guests to help themselves. Easy access to Lawrence Gap main road with all the bars and restaurants. Room and patio area were large
Extremely tired room. Bath mats used at side of bed instead of rugs. Hairdryer kept flickering the lights. Room at far end of side on ground floor and felt a little isolated. Shutters at side of room door which had no glass and an adult could easily put their arm through and open the door from the inside. We felt it was a security issue.
The hotel is very dated rooms definitely need an upgrade. Most staff are not very friendly, especially the cleaners who never cracked a smile. Shirley in the restaurant area was lovely, the only member of staff who was genuinely friendly. We had an ocean view room all though the view was amazing, the noise from the chattel village across the road every night was loud so loud it sounded like they were singing in the room. If you like to sleep this probably isn’t the hotel for you. I would return to Barbados, but unfortunately wouldn’t stay at southern palms again.
I would give the following scores. Hotel 3/5 The hotel is dated however, it is clean. We were put in the Courtyard area. Perhaps the rooms around the pool area are better? Staff 2/5 This is the part I found the strangest. Every time I’ve visited Barbados I’ve found the locals and hotel staff to be generally happy, visible, and helpful. What was noticeable was that the staff at this hotel seemed unhappy and were noticeable by their absence, especially around the pool area. As an example, it wasn’t until day five did a member of staff ask us if we wanted a drink. I don’t like being harassed when I’m on holiday however, five days to get noticed is a new record for me! This encouraged me and others to venture out and deprive the hotel of revenue. I’m not sure what the problem with the staff is. Are they unhappy or are they encouraged by management to act in a very hands off manner? I’m sure some guests love being totally left alone so they may have a different opinion to mine. Location 5/5 The location was perfect. Right on a great beach where you’ll see plenty of turtles. The hotel is also within touching distance of all the great bars and restaurants on the Gap. Entertainment 2/5 Sketchy. Went out every night but when I did pop my head in the entertainment was non-existent or tame. To be fair to the hotel they may have taken a view that because the entertainment is so good along the Gap, the guests would prefer to venture out. Overall 3/5 Despite the average score I would recommend visiting this hotel due to its great location and the fact that the time spent in your hotel room is minimal. However, I would suggest booking on a room-only basis and enjoy the beach and pool area. Whilst venturing out for the great food, drink and entertainment that the Gap offers. Despite my score of 3/5, I can appreciate why those with a different set of requirements would mark the Southern Palms higher.
3rd time at this hotel, located right on Dover beach, beautiful white sand & turquoise water. Rooms are great, especially sea view ones. Brilliant massage at salon next door and best aqua zumba class ever! Didn't eat at the hotel as lovely cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. Most staff are wonderful, but I've taken off 1 star from the review for the frosty and unwelcoming reception I received, even though I was the only person checking in. Would I return? Hell yeah!
Room was somewhat dated, but clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Also felt safe as there was a security guard 24/7 with lots of cameras being monitored throught the property. AC was excellent, and with remote, very easy to adjust to our comfort level. Pools were well maintained. Restaurant was very nice, with ample choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices were reasonable. Staff were very friendly. Complimentary afternoon tea was a nice added touch. Good location at the southern end of St. Lawrence Gap. This kept us away from the numerous restaurants and bars further to the north, so it was quiet at night. We will be back in Barbados in 2026 and will book again at Southern Palms.
We aren't beach lovers so it didn't matter to us, but the property didn't have any beach chairs or umbrellas on the beach. The resort next door did. We never looked into whether the property would set up seating and shade if requested, as we didn't use the beach.
Adequate - location of restaurant by the beach - perfect. Only had breakfast twice in our 3 day stay.
My family and I have been going to Sunday Buffet at Southern Palms since they had a thatched roof! We used to dive for coins in the pool that my parents threw in, then my nephews dove for coins so pretty much half a century of annual visits. We know we are patient with things on “island time” but our latest visit was very disappointing. After calling to make a specific reservation on the bar side of the restaurant we were advised we needed a cash deposit days before our arrival to secure a reservation which we made a 12:15 reservation barside…. great do we thought….. upon arrival we were told the reservation was made for buffet side which it wasn’t. Ok, we thought, no big deal we will sit on buffet side as long as it’s ok to order bar menu as not everyone wanted to eat at buffet. We had to wait until 12:30 for buffet restaurant to open (which should have been a clue that res was at bar)…..again no big deal, island life…..we were ok with that. They did accommodate us saying we could order from the bar side which is what we wanted in the first place only to have some of the party eat buffet and bar food people waited an hour to get any food!!! When we ordered they did mention it would take some time ….but an hour?? Wouldn’t have been so bad except we felt abandoned! Would have liked some ice water fill up at 30 min intervals but that wasn’t the case. Steal band is what we go for and the boys didn’t disappoint. Always professional, always excellent at their craft. Sorry Southern Palms but you dropped the ball big time. Disappointed in your staff. Guess the automatic addition of service charge to the bill gives no incentive to keep to a standard.
Another fantastic stay at this hotel! Our room was kept spotlessly clean...thank you to Cherry Ann for making sure the room was set up exactly as we wanted. Big shout outs to June ( behind the bar)..always happy to refill our water bottles, Michaela (serving drinks round the pool and on the beach)...always had a smile and continually checked we were ok, and David ( the water sports guy)....couldnt do enough for us! The hotel setting is stunning and completely make this a wonderful place to stay. Agree with others that service for food can be a bit "hit or miss" depending on which waitress/ restaurant manager is working!
We have recently returned from another wonderful holiday at The Southern Palms Hotel . This was our third visit and did not disappoint. The hotel has a laid back vibe right on the beautiful Dover beach . There are no umbrellas on the beach because turtles lay their eggs beneath the sand and the nests are protected but there are lovely palm trees for shade and a flag system ensures you are never without a drink . Breakfast is a leisurely affair with a wonderful view of the beach .There is a good choice of food including a great juice made from spinach and fruit . Omelettes and eggs of every type are made freshly and staff serve tea and coffee . We had a suite with a side sea view which was spacious and kept spotlessly clean with great air con . We feel welcome each time we go back and would not want this charactful hotel to change and become ultra modern . Sunday lunch is a highlight , a buffet accompanied by a Steele band right next to the beach, Just fantastic . The food in general is good although there can be a wait to be served . Jo Anna is particularly welcoming and friendly always smiling and helpful she clearly enjoys her job . The turtles in the sea and the baby hatchlings on the beach make this place very special we will be back again .
Return visit and we love the hotel. The rooms are clean, and there is complete pride in all the work the staff do. The selling feature of this hotel is the beach….. it’s amazing, I could spend all day watching the sea (and hopefully the sea turtles). Michaela was brilliant and a real credit to the hotel , and the new feature of the flags on the beach when you need something ;is one that I love!! David is great at the water sports but, and cherry -Ann (housekeeping) couldn’t do enough when getting us more hangers! It was great to see many of the staff the same as before. The speed of breakfast if ordering of the menu is hit and miss…. Some days it’s quick some days it’s incredibly slow! We are looking at returning again in May.
We had an amazing stay at the Southern Palms Hotel. Our accommodation was spotless and comfortable, and the sea view from our room was absolutely stunning – so picturesque and relaxing. All of the staff were incredibly hard-working and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Johanna in the restaurant deserves a special mention – she’s exceptional, always smiling, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Michaela, who looked after us by the pool, was also fantastic. In fact, every single member of staff we met went above and beyond – we really can’t fault anyone. This was our first time staying here, but it certainly won’t be our last. We noticed that many of the guests we spoke to were returning visitors, which really speaks volumes about the hotel and the team. We’ll definitely be back in a couple of years!
We just wanted to say a huge thank you for the incredible service and care you and your team gave us during our stay — especially for Isabel’s 18th! Everything was perfect — the location of the room, the atmosphere, and the warmth from all the staff at Southern Palms. A special mention also to your newest team member, Michaela — she was wonderful and made us feel so welcome. We’re so grateful for everything you did to make this week unforgettable. Sorry we didn’t get to say goodbye in person today, but please know how much we appreciate you all. We’ll be sure to leave lots of glowing reviews, and we absolutely plan to be back again soon. To top off an already amazing trip, we even got to experience baby turtles hatching at midnight — we helped save around 50 of them! 🐢✨ Was so lovely the staff remembered us from last year also. Please pass this on the restaurant staff too as Izzy really didn’t miss not being home your staff went all out and the cake too. The staff decorated the area and the band even sang to her.. We made amazing memories with your staff :) The suit was perfect and clean and comfy real home from home. Seconds away from the white sands. Food was great and service was always great with a smile. Sandy is great and always around to help and this guy never stops. We will be back again. Thanks to Kelly and her amazing team 🥳
Visited the Southern Palms hotel at the end of September, we had a brilliant holiday and are already looking to return to the hotel. We arrived at 12:30 and were shown to our room straight away which was great after a long flight. We had a Pool View room and although a bit basic it was very clean with a great bed and even better view from the Balcony. The pool area is very nice and relaxing, the only thing to comment on is people reserving loungers and then not using them for large parts of the day, a common problem not unique to this hotel but people really do treat those loungers as their own property and reserve them from 5am etc, ridiculous. Food and drinks in the restaurant were excellent and really good value, the staff also where very good and friendly. The hotel is the best situated in the gap, right on the best beach which is on your doorstep but also convenient for the local bars and restaurants. Already looking to return in 2027.
The trains run from Swanage to Norden, stopping at Corfe Castle on route, takes 17 min's to Corfe Castle. I did this as part of a group visiting Swanage. All the staff very smart in their uniforms. It was strange being back in the old carriages, l remember them well. The train left on time, quite a short journey. Alighting at Corfe Castle we walked up through the little town to the castle and visited the model village and tea shop. It is not very large and steps a bit uneven, but l managed to get around it easily, followed by a cuppa. You can walk up to the castle, but the ground uneven, so didn't attempt it. As it's NT, you pay if not a member. Coming back l needed to be on the other side of the track, not able to do stairs very well, the staff took me across the line, to board the rain back to Swanage. Well worth a visit.
I recently stayed at Southern Palms for 2 nights with my friend who was celebrating her birthday and we both had such a great time. From check in to check out was a great service. The room was clean on arrival. The only issue was the shower - when turned on it makes a constant ringing noise but it wasn’t too overbearing. We had breakfast included in our stay and the service in the restaurant was so good. There was a set menu for our breakfast-included stay, not a huge variety but still good. With that said, the restaurant staff were very accommodating to me. I don’t eat eggs and I was able to substitute that with something else and I really appreciated that. Service by the pool area by KEN was the best. He was very engaging and made sure me and my friend were all set for the day. He found us 2 pool chairs to use for the day and made sure we were comfortable. If you’re the type who likes to sit by the pool, I suggest waking up early and reserving the chairs. They’re all gone by 9am or so. He also set up lunch for us on the beach which was also very nice. The service was great and all the staff were amazing. I can’t remember everyone’s names but I must give a special thank you to Ken at the pool, Kelly(?) I think lol she’s the manager or supervisor by the restaurant, Shirley and Coreen who were our waitresses at breakfast and dinner and Jenni at the front desk. I highly recommend Southern Palms for your vacation/staycation. I look forward to returning here again!
My husband and I spent our first holiday to Barbados at the Southern Palms. Whilst the room (318) was a wee bit dated, it was perfectly adequate for our needs with a lovely big terrace with a partial sea view. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of wardrobe space, but a few more hangers would be useful. There was maid service every day, although I'm not sure how much more than wiping around the bathroom and making the bed they did. There were dirt marks under the bathroom sink that were there for the 2 weeks we were in the room. Maybe it was the marks from the mop! The pool area was spotless with around 14-16 sunbeds at the main pool, with one parasol per two beds. Unfortunately, this meant claiming a pair of beds early or there were none left. There were also a number of hotel sunbeds available on the beach and we did make use of them on a couple of occasions. The only issue with this is that the palm trees then need to be used for shade as there are no hotel parasols on the beach. There was some maintenance work being done on the main restaurant roof which caused some noise but was not overbearing, and we'd been made aware of it the week before by British Airways Holidays. The Reception Staff were helpful and very pleasant, on one occasion, however, my husband questioned the bill and the staff member was a bit rude. The hotel had happy hour every evening from 6.00-7.00 pm, 2 for one on selected cocktails. Oh my goodness, service was slow. Not just everyday Bajan slow, way slower than that. If you don't want customers to make use of Happy Hour, then don't have it. It was difficult to get more than one order of drinks in the 60 minutes. Keep in mind we were there in September and the hotel most definitely was not busy. Whilst this was frustrating, at least the bar staff were relatively pleasant. Water bottles could be filled throughout the day at the bar which was extremely useful (Barbados tap water is delicious). We ate in the restaurant once, for their lobster special. $85 bbd per person, we were not impressed by the meal, it wasn't badly cooked, but portion size for the cost was disappointing. We didn't eat in the hotel again after this. We didn't catch much of the entertainment, we watched a bit of the steel band one night and singers another night, I'm not sure if there was anything else on during our stay. The bar seemed to close early for a hotel bar, most nights by 10.30, so coming back in from a meal etc there was no option for a night cap, this may have been due to the time of year. The location of the hotel is excellent with nice restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. I would suggest it would be helpful for customers staying on a room only basis if some cutlery and dishes were supplied, not quite self-catering but helpful to have. All in all we had a fabulous holiday and would definitely return to Barbados and quite possibly to Southern Palms.
After having a wonderful holiday last year we rebooked directly with the hotel to go again. Whilst we still enjoyed the beach front location, general ambience of the hotel, and the service from most of the staff, we were somewhat upset that no one had contacted us from reservations regarding the works to the restaurant, which carried on each day, including weekends, and as our ocean view room was just across the way caused us some disturbance. Those that had rooms further from the pool/restaurant to be fair probably did not suffer the same noise. When we arrived we received notice in the form of a letter stating that the works were being carried out and unlike other guests who had booked vis tour operators this was the first we heard of it. Now don’t get me wrong the maintenance was absolutely necessary to ensure the structure was sound, but it was particularly galling that others who had booked via tour operators had in some instances, the opportunity to change hotels, and had done so, whether we would have done remains an open question. Booking directly we had the right to cancel our stay up to 7 days beforehand without penalty, you can call me cynical but was this a ploy by the hotel not to lose the booking, because at the time there was availability with many other hotels on the Island. We got a complimentary cocktail and was told by the Management that they would look into the reason we hadn’t been informed and heard nothing more, that just about says it all. We won’t be staying again and a word of warning to others DO NOT BOOK DIRECT as it seems the tour operators have a better attitude towards customer service.
The staff in reception don’t give a toss I have been here many years but I am so upset at moment waiting almost 3 hours for my room after leaving Birmingham at midnight
We have had the best holiday ever at the southern palms hotel in barbados the hotel itself is fantastic rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and clean towels every day including beach towels we had room only but it was very clean and the bed was so comfy ( I don’t sleep well at home and we have an expensive mattress ) but I have slept so well here air conditioning is a godsend, the staff are all great they will help you in anyway they can nothing is too much for them and it’s right on the beach thank you to each of you for making this a perfect holiday if you want a fun filled day go with William’s tours and get rooster as your guide he will have you laughing the whole tour thank you to the receptionist who advised and booked this for us also cool runnings for the moonlight cruise had a blast food was excellent and plenty of drinks swim with the turtles superb we are sad to be going home but with go with love that we have for your beautiful island and we will be back without a doubt Sharon and Wes pears
Our last day here of 14 staff have been absolutely amazing nothing too much trouble right on the beach aswell who could possibly ask for more definitely be back again
Stayed her for 6 nights and have mixed feelings. The Beach sells the Hotel. Its amazing. Had a Luxury Suite with side sea view. Very spacious and clean indeed. Had a Half Board Plan. Breakfast very good with lots of choice. Evening meal not so good. It was hit or miss. Got bored of the same menu. The Service is extremely slow. Got a bit annoying as very quiet. The Management have eexcellent customer service in asking how you are and having a chat however I thought most the majority of staff were miserable and felt they did not want to be there. Such a shame. I would not go back again due to the lack of friendliness but would go back for the Beach.
Love it
The room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view. The facilities and service were excellent and the Hotel was conveniently situated between the beach and St.Lawrence Gap. We could have happily spent longer here.
We stayed at the Southern Palms in June for our honeymoon, this was our 4th stay at this hotel. I was proposed to here on the balcony of our room in January 2023, so we just HAD to come back for our honeymoon. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds along side Dover Beach. We had a garden view room with views over one of the two swimming pools, the beach and the entertainment area/bar The room has all you need, a huge bed, wardrobe, dressing table, safe, air con, a shower in the bathroom. We could not hear any noise from the nearby bars, the only sounds we could hear were the waves lapping on the shore and the whistling frogs, perfect to us. The balcony furniture has been changed, we used to like to sit at the table & chairs on the balcony & play cards & have a drink & food, but the new table does not facilitate this as it is more like a small coffee table, but hey, we managed The staff are friendly & smiley, in the most. Service can be slow at the bar, especially on a Sunday lunchtime when the steelpan band are playing and during happy hour, this time of year, happy hour was not as bad as it was when we have stayed in January. The whole island is a lot quieter in June/July We spent our days relaxing by the pool, overlooking the beautiful beach & sea, we made some wonderful friends, pool towels are changed at the sports hut & the boys who work there are really lovely & kind & funny, they also have a few sunbed mattresses you can use during your stay The hotel has quite a few repeat guests & I would suggest the majority of guests are older, just like us The hotel is in walking distance of the end of the Gap & there are always taxis outside if you need a ride somewhere There is live entertainment a few evenings a week, along with the Sunday lunchtime steel pan band The pink hotel definitely suits our needs & we will be back again Enjoy your stay
Perfect location. Right on the beach. Welcoming staff could have been more informative but otherwise everything perfect! Would stay there again!
Awesome place! We would love to come back!
Well Let me start by saying Southern Hotel is a lovely place the colors of the hotel makes it feel more Caribbean and well presented. The food was on point the and the drinks too, just the service was poor poor poor and this review must question the hotel, our server he had a attitude from the time we was asking him about meals and drinks. He leave the dirty glasses on the table and even the plates as well.the bill was presented before asking if we needed anything else. That was crazy. The supervisor came and try to make things better due to how we acted when he came to the table. But to make things worst she make a small lady came and clean his mess up and other tables around.i work in the industry and if your management team can't get it right with him you would have more reviews. To the young lady that was wearing black and white speak up to your manger bout this when they ask you about this review Hotel 7/10 Clean surroundings 8/10 Food n Drinks 8/10 Service Waiter 0/10 Front Desk 8/10
The beach
Charges for laundry; inconsistent food choices; different cooks and food; bar services slow maybe not have wait staff do both jobs.
We have been coming here since 1996 and love it, it’s a beautiful hotel with a beautiful view of the beach and perfectly situated near St Lawrence Gap which you can walk to. The only problem is (and it is the only one) that the bar shuts at 10.00 every night whether there are people there or not and even if the band is still playing. The other night they shut it at 9.45
This was our second stay at Southern Palms and we have booked for next year too! It really is our happy place! Brilliantly situated on St Lawrence Gap lovely and quiet yet within walking distance of plenty of bars and restaurants. The staff have worked there years and all so lovely. The weekly managers rum punch party each Monday is fabulous and a lovely way to chat to other guests. The rum punch and fish cakes are delicious! We loved happy hour every day too and the times we did eat at the hotel, the food was delicious. Towels for sun beds are provided every day you simply change them and the young man that runs the water sports etc is brilliant! The beach is beautiful and grounds, if you want to relax and unwind from day to day life you won’t get much better! We stay in the supersaver rooms which work well for us. We are only sleeping in there, there’s maid service every day, air con etc. Thank you to the management and staff once again and we look forward to seeing you all May 2026. We just have one issue - it’s so good we keep going back instead of trying different places but Barbados has stolen our hearts since we got married on Dover Beach in 2003 xx
Southern Palms has a rustic charm and is perfectly located on Dover Beach one of our favourite beaches on the island. We stayed in July 2025 and whilst we knew it was ‘out of season’ we were surprised with how quiet the hotel was - this wasn’t a bad thing. The rooms were clean and fitting with the rest of the decor, with plenty of bars and restaurants along the gap only a minutes walk away. We did feel that the staff were slow and disinterested. We received no information on check-in about the facilities or goings on for our ten night stay so missed out on certain things (Managers cocktail party/Teas & Coffees/Gym facilities etc). Ordering a drink from the bar seemed like an inconvenience for the staff and was fairly expensive.. especially the buffet. However, we enjoyed our stay - it was relaxing and we will definitely consider returning to Southern Palms. 4*
So close to the beach, bars, cafes, & restaurants
Nothing
So here I am back in the UK after 14 days at the Southern Palms resort just off the Lawrence gap. Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to all the staff there for making my stay absolutely amazing, especially as this is my first trip to Barbados solo but my seventh trip in total. For travellers, I will always recommend an ocean view however from what I gather of other guests staying at the resort all the rooms are in very good order This was my second time at this resort and I think the main feature of the resort is the fact that it’s so spread out in some beautiful well-maintained grounds and again my heart off to all the maintenance and gardening teams to make it look so beautiful My package was room only so that gave me the flexibility of eating at a number of locations within the gap, but the meals I did have at the resort were very tasty and quite a wide variety of choice, particularly with the all day menu No doubt travellers would’ve noticed comments about the seaweed that turns up every now and again and when I arrived yes there was quite a bit on the shoreline and further up towards Dover Beach however as I’ve experienced over the years the beach and the sea has a habit of reclaiming itself and by the end of the holiday I was still able to go for a really nice swim. One thing I will say about the beaches in general, but especially at Southern Palms is the way that not only the visitors and the gas but everyone respects the beaches it’s quite astonishing really the amount of visitors the island does get and how well the beaches are kept in pristine condition even in the most locations. Coming from the UK it’s very frustrating seeing how the visitors to the seaside resort in the UK treat The beaches like rubbish dumps perhaps I could learn some lessons from Barbados. I did quite a bit of travelling around. I hide a car as I normally do this time. I’ve got a little GPS which really did help as most travellers will note the signposting is not very good but it’s still great fun driving around the island and it’s safe as well.. I used to drive-a-matic this time and their service was really good with the pick up and drop off at the hotel. I managed to get round most of the hotspots rascals fisherman’s pub bats rock Thunder Bay sharks hole and many many other places I think that’s the fun of exploring the island. You never know what’s round the corner the only disappointment was the caboose wasn’t open on the two times I passed there that just means I’ll have to come back to the island and try it again. I also did a day trip down to savvy on the bay, which was a great day out. It was $30.B and the bus picks you up and drop you off at a convenient time for yourselves. Will you get a lounger and an umbrella? The sea is absolutely stunning and the food trucks are absolutely amazing as well as the bar obviously.. they really do know how to look after you down there and it’s a highly recommended visit. As I mentioned, I spent a bit of time in the Lawrence gap and basically I started up at Café Sol and worked my way down , but always might go to place was sharkys , I have a lovely team of staff down there really friendly the food is good and the drinks keep coming. What more can you ask for? Another little point was there is a couple of convenience stores quite close by there is the Dover market where you turn right from the resort and it’s about a 10 minute walk down there however there is another smaller market just before you get to Sharkey’s where the prices are quite reasonable if you just want a small amount of Food and drink for your room. Of course you can always get a further trip bus or a taxi up to the Massey stores. So overall Barbados did not disappoint but I would like to say a big thank you to a lot of the staff at the resort Jenny and Stephen in the reception David the sports guy and many many others who made my stay there memorable so once again thank you very much, and I will be returning without a doubt
Myself and my sister stayed at this hotel in June 25 for 7 nights and we really liked it.. To say that I am a fussy traveller is an understatement, couldn't fault this hotel. On arrival we were checked in quick, and our bags were taken to our room. We had a garden room, the room was very big and a few steps from the beautiful sea, it was quite dated, but we were in Barbados so didn't really matter, when your room has a sea view. The beds we so comfortable, the air-con was brilliant, a must for me when I am travelling, there was enough towels, soap, shower gel in the bathroom. The room had a fridge and a kettle, we bring our own coffee. What we like is that we could hear the sea from our room at night, so chilling to fall asleep to. The food and drink at the hotel were also excellent, and prices were good for hotel bar. We had beers, cocktails etc, super nice, and good quality, again we are rather fussy, the food portions were large and you could have a carry out. Every member of the staff were super, super nice, especially Linda and the other ladies at the bar, sorry can't remember names, but thank you for making our well deserved holiday a memorable one. What can I say about the beach.... WOW!!!!!!! amazing.. We don't usually go to the same places twice, but we will be back.. Thank you for everything...
The beachfront location
