Ein Hotel mit Geschichte. Die Lage in der Innenstadt ist prima. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Das Gebäude ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und das Zimmer, in dem wir wohnten, könnte eine Renovierung vertragen.

The staff were friendly

The room shook and rumbled every time a large vehichle went past on the main road. With a night bus passing every hour, we got no sleep. There was no room temperature control. There is no direct hotel parking. The bath had hairs in and a dusty radiator and a very noisy ectraxtor fan. There was only one towel with two guests.

Live carpet beetles in room eating carpet. Noisy could hear every movement in other rooms and corridors, everywhere creaked. Breakfasts awful, cold and greasy with very little choice for fruit, yoghurts etc. Decor tired and dated. No attached carpark.

Great location for the city. Lovely building. The staff were all great & very helpful.

Breakfast wasn't the best but did the job. Hotel obviously hasn't had much investment over the last few years which let's it down a little. Still overall a good place to lay your head in the city.

Nothing covered in scaffolding, very noisy and terrible dark bedroom miles of complicated stairs and narrow corridors. Left without staying

I love this hotel there's nothing not to like..staff are friendly... location to town centre is a 2 min walk away...food is fantastic...plenty to choose from on drinks menu...place is very clean and tidy....that's why we keep coming back.

Clean room, nice staff, breakfast okay. While the street is not the nicest, the building is beautiful, and easy access to restaurants etc.

Decor is dated, looks a little down at heel, needs a refresh. My room door did not lock automatically, so had to manually lock it - this is a safety concern. The hallways were confusing, as a number of other buildings had been attached to the original building. .

La posizione centrale, a dieci minuti a piedi dalla stazione del treno.

Da una struttura con più di 300 anni di storia, mi aspettavo l'eccellenza dell'hotellerie scozzese. Invece ho soggiornato in una struttura datata, sporca e poco confortevole. Ma andiamo con ordine. Al momento della prenotazione, vengo avvisato che l'ascensore non è funzionante: ebbene dopo più di 15 giorni, al momento del mio arrivo, l'ascensore continuava ad essere non funzionante! La camera che mi è stata assegnata (al terzo piano, con rampe di scale da fare con i bagagli) affacciava su un vicolo rumoroso (per via delle ventole di un vicino risperante), era sporca con polvere sopra le mostre delle porte o agli angoli delle pareti, priva di impianto di climatizzazione e frigobar, con un mobilio e un arredamento assai vetusto e frusto. A colazione poi non è stato possibile avere un espresso o un cappuccino. Passi per la poca scelta di prodotti dolciari (disponibili solo una tipologia di cornetto e marmellate) e una colazione per lo più salata, ma possibile che nel 2026 non ci si possa dotare di una macchina professionale per caffè che possa accontentare i gusti e i palati di tutti gli ospiti dell'hotel? Spiace dover lasciare una recensione così negativa ma in rapporto a quanto pagato, l'esperienza è stata del tutto insoddisfacente.

We had booked superior double which would have been on 3rd floor but as lift wasn't working and with a mobility issue we were given standard twin on 1st floor.

Though old, the common areas are well maintained, genteel elegance. Room was clean and well maintained.The best thing? Very quiet!

The lift didn’t work and it was confusing finding my room.

Easy to find in the center. Quick check in at reception. No lift at the moment. Not a problem for me. Rooms well signposted. Door key. Small single room. Opening window bed 2 pillows wardrobe . Fan. Shower. Table . Chair. Tea/coffee. But not at electric socket. Good nights sleep. Evening meal in the bar saturday reasonable priced.. Breakfast. Good choice fruit yogarts. Full english. The best breakfast ive seen. Self service. A good clean hotel helpfull staff.

Booked this hotel for my parents in their 70s and they really enjoyed their stay. Liked how it was central and easy to get to. Clean and comfortable. They will definitely want to return to this hotel.

All the staff we had dealings with were great and everything they could influence they did really positively. Room was very large, newly decorated bathroom

Outside of the room the hotel is a bit like Perth - you can tell it was an affluent, prosperous place at some point in history but is now in decline. Very dated decor, old fashioned room key like a Yale lock, lift was out of order, carpets dated, scaffolding up outside the hotel, very dark bar and reception area, dinning room and corridors creaky and on a slant

Good central location. Traditional atmosphere. The staff were all great. We were warmly greeted on arrival and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful.

Our room was very dated. It was described as a superior double but we were disappointed. We usually stay at this hotel whenever we are in Perth, but felt let down this time.

Lift was not working. Room was difficult to access due to the amount of stairs. It was not an enjoyable stay. Based on this i would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues. It was terrible.

The location is ideal. Walking distance to the town centre. 10 minute walk to the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location for The theatre ,Museum,Art Gallery etc. Lots going on here. Train Station,Bus Station as well. Staff were helpful took my case up to my room as the lift was out of order. The Hotel sent me an email to inform me it was not working,which was helpful. Room was nice and clean and bed comfortable that's a plus for me.good choice on the menus.

My room was overlooking the road at the front of the Hotel so it could be a bit noisy but was not too bad .

Bed sheets were not made of cotton, water in bathroom difficult to turn on, breakfast too expensive for what it was, hotel very old and run down, internet very bad on third floor and I needed it for work so that was not very good.

Convenient and decent breakfast. Bar and restaurant looked fine but didnt use.

No hot water. Was given a key for a room with water but we couldn't get a new room so had to travel between rooms to use in another part of the hotel. No lift working bit cant be helped. Smell in the room and big wet patch and discolouration on the floor where someone had been sick or an animal person had an accident. Bit shabby but could have overlooked that if the facilities and room had been better.

Cleanliness Condition of hotel

In the spirit of openness I go to this hotel every week to a regular dance class (Ceroc). Notwithstanding that I do also stay once or twice a year for dance weekenders even though it’s on my doorstep. This is a gem of a place. It’s over 300 years old. Where else can boast that Bonnie Prince Charlie AND David Bowie have walked through those ancient doors. It has squinty floors, creaks, probably a ghost but it’s the Sally and I love it. It’s got personality and character. It’s not been painted grey and featureless. It has the most magnificent ballroom with air con. It has a beautiful restaurant behind that glorious window at the front. The breakfasts are brilliant, so much better than other hotels with more stars. The haggis is particularly stand out. They serve the best chips but the food in general is good and wholesome. The rooms are clean and housekeeping do it right - I’ve slept in other hotels where a sheet has been chucked in the general direction of a bed and told to make itself. Not the Sally. It’s perfect sheets and hospital corners at the Sally. And last but never least, the staff. They are awesome. Helpful, on it, it’s a joy to watch such hospitality professionals at the top of their game. Right in the centre of Perth, near the river with plenty parking nearby, the Sally is Perth. It’s fabulous!

Siamo arrivati e l'ascensore era fuori servizio. Ci hanno dato una stanza al 3 piano che abbiamo dovuto raggiungere a piedi e con le valigie. Tutti i piani hanno la moquette quindi immaginatevi lo sporco. Al 3 piano ci accoglie un caldo terribile. La stanza era bollente con una finestra rotta che non poteva aprirsi. Siamo scese in reception e quando abbiamo esposto il problema ci hanno detto: "tutto l'hotel è così, è estate! Se volete c'è un ventilatore nell'armadio (info non fornita al checkin). Non ci tornerò più

Prachtig hotel aan de binnenkant. Heel oud en kraakt maar dat geeft charme. Ontbijt was goed! Personeel heel vriendelijk! De buitenkant stond in de steigers en er was een bruiloft maar we hebben totaal geen hinder of overlast ervaren.

Familie kamer met stapelbed, de matrassen in het stapelbed waren niet goed. Prima voor kinderen tot 8 jaar maar niet ouder...

Everything was lovely, I personally don't have the cooked breakfast so having porridge and having other options that was very well presented was a plus on account, my husband had the cooked and found it was very well presented with fresh eggs being cooked to order. Room was lovely and large, view from window wasn't great but we weren't in the room that long for it to worry us.

Broken lift which has been broken for a while as it was mentioned on the time of booking. The car park which is owned or run by Ringo, it would be better to pay for the carpark space at the hotel, like a one off payment at the time of collecting the room key, we had to keep setting reminders as the charge was for only 4 hours at a time.

Have stayed here several times before. An old tired hotel but a great location and has all that you need for a short stay. Rooms are very clean and tidy with all the usual facilities. Food is good and reasonably priced. Breakfast is great and all you can eat Buffet.

Real shame that many hotels are now doing this!! I like a double room even if on my own. A Double room needs a Double bed - BUT why are there 2 beds pushed together....this is NOT a double bed. It is tacky and not comfortable with a great gap down the middle....completely spoils the stay. If you are going to do this it needs a good thick matress topper....But here...nothing . Just double sheets over 2 single beds. NOT GOOD. In addition the walls in this hotel are very thin and expect to hear your neighbours...shame that so many folks are so selfish and inconsiderate these days and do not have the decency to keep the noise down and not stomp about and slam doors.

I liked the old world charm of the place and the staff were very good. The food was good value for money.

I didn't like that there was no hotel parking so we had to pay to park in a public car park which was £7 for four hours. Not very convenient and all adds to the cost of the hotel stay

A grand old building in the middle off town . The buffet breakfast is fantastic plenty off choice and everything spot on . The staff all did a good job nice bar downstairs and the dinning room is very grand with 3 chandeliers, The bedrooms were a good size and clean if a little dated . There is no car park but was able to park in the multistorey about 5 minutes away and not to expensive.

Breakfast was really underwhelming, no sweet options provided (I'm not counting cereal in). I don't mind the dated look of the hotel, that is a part of it, but the floors are extremely creeky and it woke me up every time the guests above us would get up. I find it tacky to have everywhere signs of telling you what to and what not to do, but I guess that's a part of the British culture.
