Breakfast was great! thanks for GF toast! Fitness was perfect,
Window would not stay open, too hot at night! Could have been bigger room
Excellent location and really friendly staff
Hotel is very tired and showing its age. Could do with refurbishment. Breakfast was buffet style but food was lukewarm at best
Location staff and breakfast
View onto River Tay
Shower didn’t work properly. Had to stand in cold water whilst showering
Central. Old charm Lovely receptionist Spacious rooms
Parking-very lucky to get a space No view
Great location for the golf course
Nothing
Fantastic location, clean, comfortable good value for money no complaints
Sausages at breakfast
Lovely place to stay, so close to all restaurants and pubs, easy walking distance.
Had to wedge room window to get air during the night
Location, hotel building and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good too.
Dinner was disappointing for price , battered fish and home made chips , batter not cooked properly and chips were more French fries , takeaway chips. Room wasn't very clean leaves etc on floor , and throw on bed was badly stained.
The atmoshere and the team were great. The food was really good, we had meals 2 nights and they were really good..great location.
The mattress was a bit soft for us, we are used to a firmer one,. The breakfast in the morning was warm, it could have been a bit hotter. Overall tho we had a great stay.
My bed was comfy, I had a hot shower and the room was clean. The location was central and we managed to get parked in the carpark both evenings.
My room was noisy - there were pigeons nesting on the windowsill that kept me awake. I had to sleep with white noise to drown them out. We needed to leave very early with work so we asked if they could do a breakfast to go, they said yes and it would be on the reception desk - we got up at 5.30, it wasn't there - I wandered around in the dark and eventually found someone who had it in the kitchen - we were given a tuna sandwich and a chicken sandwich. My bread was mouldy. Cooked breakfast the next day was ok but the sausages were awful - surely there's no actual meat in them!
Beautiful old historic building.
Staff were all first class
Unfortunately the bed mattress was smaller than the base kept hitting my ankles when getting up not a major issue but should not be a problem when you’re paying the room rate the hotel is asking
Everything
No lift 🤔
The location is fantastic. Very close to the concert hall and walking distance to most shops / amenities.
When I arrived the staff just seemed too busy to help, there was a hectic atmosphere. When I did get checked in, the receptionist gave me the completely wrong directions to my room - so I ended up lugging my bags around and up the narrow stairs cases to find it. She also didn't tell me if there was a restaurant, didn't tell me when breakfast was and seemed very rushed in general. My room was really nice and spacious. I enjoyed the room and the bathroom was spacious. I was looking forward to a hot shower. Then I was very disappointed to discover the shower thermostat was broken and the temperature kept flicking between freezing cold and scorching hot to a point I couldn't get under it at all. When I phoned reception to report it, they didn't seem particularly bothered. And said they'd get a technician in the morning (ie. After my checkout) not very helpful again!
Location in the town is good close to shops museum etc. room was spacious on 2nd floor. There is no lift. Breakfast in the room looking towards the river. Food was replenished promptly. Buffet style. In general hotel is a bit old fashioned but nice.
Not that easy to find the entrance for the small car park. Once you work out the 1 way streets the entrance is under an arch and down a slight slope. Car park is tight and hold around 12+ cars.
Very central. Food and staff excellent
Rooms a little dated
Lovely location by the river Tay with easy access to the concert hall, museums , shops and eateries. Our room on the top floor was freshly decorated with a large bathroom and separate sitting area which we appreciated.
The hotel is tired and lacklustre throughout. Breakfast was an uninspiring luke warm self serve buffet selection with no cooked to order options.
The public areas of the hotel were pretty good and the staff were excellent. A more than decent breakfast, and the light meal I had in the evening (mushroom soup!) was particularly good.
My single room had old furniture and was notably tired. One example: on the bedside chest of drawers one of the drawers would not stay closed, which worried me as a possible cause of an accident getting up in the night. However, my main concern was the smell of bad drains in the bathroom, which really put me off the hotel.
Gutes Frühstück. Sehr zentrale Lage.
Kein Lift. Hotelbetten sehr unbequem (Matratzen müssten erneuert werden). Dusche sehr veraltet (Duschvorhang, kein abnehmbarer Duschkopf, zwei getrennte Warm-/Kalt-Wasserhähne).
Excellent hotel. Second time and I will be back again soon.
Hotel location, room size with view of the River Tay, breakfast and friendlessness of staff
Nothing
Staff very friebdly abd helpful
Furnishings a littke old but clean however.
L’absence d’ascenseur
Location and ambiance where good, staff was great and very warm. The bathroom was great, super hot water anwater pressure amazing..
Room was fine but little airflow, no ac andcwindow only opened a few inches. The mattress was quite hard..
Stunning Riverview and all De Luxe suites guaranteed a perfect peaceful stay
If a standard room… as in past.. TRG needs to reinvest and freshen all.. including garden furnishings etc such a wonderful opportunity especially with location in Perthshire 🏴🏰🇬🇧
Convenient location
A bit tired and pillows and mattress not comfortable
Room very comfortable. Breakfast really good and at 7am perfect time for me then head to work.
Lovely hotel right in the centre of Perth. We had a room looking over the river with 3 windows. The staff were all lovely and so helpful.
No shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.
Staff attention to detail and courteous ,
No lift access but older property ,
Old-fashioned but fine.
Small car park !
Overall good location and hotel with excellent staff
Unfortunately had problems with shower and TV small and working well
Helpful staff, nice breakfast buffet and comfortable bed. Hotel also in great location
Shower basin in bathroom filled up and pressure not adjustable
Large room, friendly staff & good choice at breakfast. We always stay here when we visit Perth & have a warm & welcoming stay every time.
Nothing
Position, parking and breakfast was incredible
Needs air on as room was very hot.
Large rooms Great breakfast choice Friendly staff Free parking at hotel if you get there early
Bathroom extractor fans very noisy, we got woken up several times in middle of the night by other rooms extractor fans! If they fix those I would give it 10/10
Friendly staff
Excellent location for restaurants, bars, shops, and grocery. Very walkable.
The room was a little warm and we could only open the window a small amount.
Breakfast the room was ok
Air conditioning
Gorgeous lobby; Historic, well-appointed public spaces. The breakfast was good.
The rooms do not have air conditioning, which is fairly normal in the UK. Our room was very hot, though it was cool outside, because the window could only be opened about 2 inches. There was a mechanism that limited how far the window could be opened. Our room was up three flights of stairs. There are no lifts in the hotel, which is also normal for most UK hotels.
Meget lidt parkering
Just perfection
Decor
The hot full Scottish breakfast provided an excellent start to the day. Fueled for hours and was often enough to take me through until dinner. Offered was scrambled or fried eggs over easy, cooked mushrooms, cooked tomatoes, Scottish breakfast beans, bacon, sausage, toast, yogurt, cereal, coffee of course-all hot, excellent and on a breakfast buffet for portions of your own control. The staff recognized me when entering, the dining room servers do their job with a smile and deserve special acknowledgment there. The front desk staff was responsive to every question, and arranged for a cab even on days where local events would have accounted for a shortage. I trusted that I could count on them for anything with a prompt response. The location was directly on the River Tay. My room overlooked the river and it was a delight to pull a chair to the window and do my laptop work with the lovely view right outside. For access to the "City Center" of Perth, it was perfectly located. This trip was without a car rental, and everything was walkable within a short distance. Wonderful restaurants, a small convenience store to pick up snacks to carry on a hike. The Perth Museum is a very short walk from the hotel, as well as two art museums which were not visited. The train and the bus stations are about a fifteen minute walk from the hotel. The location is worth staying at this hotel, even without all of the other plusses.
I cannot think of anything that I didn't like
Location and staff
Shower was tricky and water cold
Friendly staff. Nothing any problem for them
Nothing
Great central location, luckily managed to get parked in their car park. Was able to walk everywhere we needed. Staff were efficient and friendly. Breakfast was good. Lovely room.
hotel wsa ok
the parking and the breakfast
Staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was comfortable, clean and relaxing.
NA
Very accommodating let us check in 1.5 hours early! Nice friendly staff Lovely old hotel
Parking is a little but tight in their car park but managed to get a spot The shower was difficult to work but nice
Lovely older style hotel and breakfast - great value for money.
The entire hotel was just depressing...musty, dusty and dark. The only positive was it's location--right in the centre of town and on the River Tay.
The room was small , dark and hot. There was a window, but it was covered with a drape and you could not open it. No fan was provided, like all other hotels I have stayed at in Scotland. There was little light in the bathroom making it hard to 'put on one's face', and the room was not well cleaned, as I stepped barefoot on the rug and stepped on a pierced earring (not my own but a earring from a previous lodger), also a piece of plastic on the carpet. The restaurant food was not good, and was costly. I had dinner my first night which was a lukewarm, watery macaroni and cheese for 17 pounds--just bad. As I said before, it was just depressing--I was so happy to get out of Perth!
Proximity to town and parking.
Room was a mini suite with city views. It was a 3 bed family room with side alley views. There as no lift, which is my fault for not checking. There is a newly fitted bathroom with no shelf in the shower cubicle. This is not a difficult thing to resolve. We had a meal on our first night of our 2-night stay. Chicken in cream sauce was on the menu but when it came it was chicken in watery milk. I asked the waitress about the cream and she looked at me blank. She then wandered off and returned with a mini jug of what appeared to be cold cream. I went to the bar and ordered a pint of beer. The waitress left the bar without saying anything. A barman or manager appeared and so I asked him for a pint of beer only to be told that there was no beer because of the heatwave 2 weeks previously when temperatures reached 82 degrees. I was astonished so asked for 2 wines. He was about to pour them when the waitress returned with a pint of beer. She said something to him and he wandered off. Very confusing and so disappointing. Not the way to treat a hotel guest. I cancelled my evening meal reservation for my second night.
Cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and personal service was excellent the staff made it so. It is an old hotel, and all that comes with that- but there are few places that still have charm, welcome and personal feel. It won’t be for everyone- but it is less anonymous than a chain. Central location, and views across the river were fabulous quirky features and creaky floorboards
A lift would be good Air con/ better fans would be good
Parking a problem, only 5 for the whole place. So I had to find a car park building for the night, it was 3 blocks away, and just take a ‘grab’ bag instead of my suitcase.
The location was ok
The place is a bit rundown, in need of some spend; creaky floorboards and you can hear people in other rooms. Parking is extremely limited ànd tight; there is a large car park within 5min which we used, more space and not expensive. Breakfast was 5/10 at best
Very central location, staff were very helpful and the room was a nice size. Decent bathroom too.
The bed wasn't the most comfortable.
Location and history
Price was a little steep
Hotel old style, molto affascinante e ben tenuto Ristorante con piatti tipici (cena)
Great location and nice room
Food was amazing, scrambled eggs were to die for. Good choice on breakfast and dinner/high tea menu. Comfortable clean room.
Hot water could have been hotter. Cleaners didnt take away dirty plates and glasses from room. Car parking is awful, small and tight, didnt help works vans were parked in and obstucting spaces, meters on road expensive if parking all day. Asked staff which of the 2 bars were ipen and reply was "i dont know" and left me standing to get served which toom 10 mins for someone else to show up. Wardrobe in room positioned wring, as with door opening away from wall, was difficult to get access into it, all that needs done is door to be hung to open other way.
Pulizia, gentilezza
Loved the place Staff very friendly nice atmosphere. Food was exellent
Breakfast buffet and everything on my plate was cold only my coffee that was hot. Bed was bit hard but thats my preference
Location for event participating in
Interior in need of refurbishment
The staff and the junior suite were lovely. Good location in the town centre. The offer to carry our luggage was much appreciated as we were on the third floor (being an older building, there is no lift)
Very small car park difficult to find. If you can book a space that would be great. We were in the junior suite, lovely room, however one thing missing. Hotel please, put up a shelf or two in the bathroom. We had to put our toiletries on the floor… a bit silly. Some à la carte choices for breakfast would be nice. For the price changed, I believe these things are not unreasonable.
The location was excellent , staff were great and had beautiful view onto the river and a nice walking area .
The mattress was possibly the most uncomfortable one I’ve ever come across in a hotel . Misshapen with springs right below the thin sheets. Shower was a little temperamental either way burn your skin off hot , or cold . Seems a pity as these small details are really important before it goes to far .
The hotel is average nothing special , staff pleasant , central .
No lifts , we had to walk up 2 fights of narrow stairs , floor boards very noisy, can hear people outside the room moving about . Breakfast wasn’t replenished, cold and greasy. Couldn’t eat it .
Location and staff went out of their way to be helpful. Thank you .
expensive
Friendly staff. Enjoyable night sleep. Recommend if you have a dog
Great location easy to get everywhere
There is no lift in the hotel and no one to help with cases
Location ,breakfast
Evening meal bit disappointing macaroni very bland
Staff were friendly and very attentive.
The hotel was tired and dated. The room was extremely hot with no fan provided. Bed was almost non existent mattress far to thin/old. Didn't get a good sleep due to this. The shower was good with power and hot temperature if needed. TV too small to even see and no basics in the room.
Lovely stay in Royal George Hotel, a warm welcome from very helpful friendly staff. Delicious breakfast in the perfect location overlooking river. All staff were exceptional.
Lots of stair climbing with luggage. The room was very hot. Very Noisy extractor fan in the bathroom
Locatie
BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT Staff very helpful
Parking
Great location
A bit tired, but acceptable.
Lovely comfortable bed with wonderful view of the river. Nice clean bathroom - staff superfriendly and breakfast delicisiou
Could the soap be accessible when you are having a bath - not just in teh shower!
The staff were very welcoming
We had very little sleep, our bathroom radiator was red hot and we couldn’t turn it off. We were given keys to another room at 2.45 am, it was much more comfortable but by then it was hard to settle down again
Our room was larger and better furnished than in many more expensive hotels. The corner location gave us fine views of the River Tay. Breakfast was very good - I asked for porridge, which was then freshly prepared and served.
There is only parking for 15 cars. This is a minor inconvenience, but there is plenty of local parking available (for a price).
Wunderschönes sauberes altes Hotel mit sehr netten hilfsbereiten Angestellten
The staff were very good, its a little dated and hope you never want to watch tv,it did not work, and was tiny
Staff
Centrally located
Disappointing decor, the hotel generally looks tired. Breakfast poorly presented, with limited choices for this standard of hotel.
Room was clean and comfy with a nice river view
Evening meal was of a basic standard. The teenage waiting staff really need some customer service training.
Wi-Fi
Location was perfect for the centre.
No lift to second floor
The location was brilliant and we even had a river view! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Nothing
Old style of the hotel made the athmosphere so cozy. We loved it. The restaurant has a great view on the river.
Nothing.
Staff fantastico.
Staff very pleasant. Best location.
Tighter housekeeping could take it to a 9. Bedroom carpet needs a good clean. Dusty corners...
The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the breakfast was good/adequate. Good location in the centre of town, we were able to park in the hotel car park, which was a bonus, they only have a few places.
We stayed on the second floor. The room had a very low ceiling and windows that only opened a small amount due to double glazing design. The towel rail was permanently on without any way to shut it off. Don’t know if that was the cause but the room was very warm and stifling (outside was around 14C). We managed to get a fan from reception but it didn’t make much difference to a very uncomfortable night’s lack of sleep.
Breakfast was fine
Poor WiFi Lift
