We stayed in the original hotel. We like its quaint character and old english style. Our room was at the back and the decor is more modern than the hotel exterior. It had everything we needed and was lovely and clean. The beds were really comfortable and got a thumbs up from our son. The air con was a must to keep the room warm. Parking is at the back and was easy to get to and from our room.

Very spacious for a studio unit. Nice breakfast bench. Good wifi. Great security with privacy button on front door. Door hook to keep door open. Quiet despite being by main road. Clean andNice decor

Room cold despite heat pump running all night, noticed big gaps around the door frame letter constant draft in. Also shower temperature was not hot enough at the highest temperature it could go.

The staff here were absolutely amazing. I hadn't yet booked and called koz I had a couple questions. And I was greated so kind and info was given. Easy to book online. And great to deal with onsite too! Thanks team. The room i had was spacious and had all that we needed. The pool is a bonus! So great for the cost. And the location was great. Shops down the road etc.

Our kids loves the space they had in the family unit, the heated floor in bathroom was great, shower great, beds were comfy, staff were accommodating and friendly.

It was charming and old worldy. A welcoming feel. Cool pool for the kids. Room was spacious and lovely and clean bathroom and surfaces.

The t.v wasn't a smart t.v, no sky, the remote for the heat pump didn't work. Net curtians could do with a soak

The beef burger meal at the in-house restaurant was super delish 😋 room service.

During my stay the noise level from a NZ mens footy sports team staying few nights, with pool and echo desined area of the pool area beside my room windows.. cant see clearly out as chlorine on the outside affected the window views.

The indoor pool! My kids loved it a lot.

The window in our room caused the light from inside the hotel which was on all night to shine in even when the curtain was closed, I sleep best in a dark room because light wakes me up.

Good value for money. It was near the place we need to go to. We booked the studio room and the facilities were complete and clean. We asked for extra towels on day 2 and it was given right away. The receptionist was also very welcoming despite our baby crying loudly.

The location was just beside the road so it’s a bit noisy but other than that it was very good.

The room was very basic and we seemed to get one that was the closest to the road. The hot water from the shower turned lukewarm after 3-4 minutes for my husband and then my son.

Our room had a distinctive smell, we couldn't get rid of, beds were semi uncomfortable. Also our bathroom had bit of awkward layout so if your plus size maybe uncomfortable to get to toilet

Staff are amazing - very friendly and helpful! Rooms are simple but had everything we needed. Private spa and swimming pool were a hit with the kids! Location - close to the CBD. Comfy beds! FREE parking!

Limited car parks. The decor is quite dated. Elevator doesn't go up to the second floor...this was explained prior to arrival though.

The staff were wonderful. Meal at restaurant was lovely. Room comfortable and warm .

The toilet seat needs replacing . The bathroom mirror was not clean and hair in the sink .

Good value and great breaky

Felt like we’d stepped into a cottage somewhere in Europe while in the Lobby, then the rooms were surprisingly modern, they felt new and fresh. Our room was kindly upgraded and we were able to share a private communal space with our family next door, which felt like an added lounge area that we very much appreciated. Nice heating, comfy beds, friendly staff. Free parking always nice. Easy access to motorways.

Nothing major, a few extra towels would’ve been nice. Could hear the air conditioning unit outside and our window, just a low hum. Would’ve loved a microwave. While we found parks easy enough when we arrived, after a night out to dinner one of us had to park on the street. Nothing off putting, will be back!

The Smell on the lift,corridor even on the stairs. Also their is no garbage bin in the toilet.

Our room was near the stairwell and quite noisy but not a major. The worst thing was arriving back to the hotel in the early hours of the morning and having no way to get into the building as they do not have access using your room key. You must be let in my the reception. I waited outside in the rain for 15 minutes trying to call the reception desk, before eventually waking my wife up who then had to open up a side door to allow me into the building. If I had been staying there by myself I have no idea how long I would have had to wait to get access seven though it is advertised that the reception is manned 24/7, it definitely isn’t.

I stayed across the road and only thing was the parking layout. If it was full I think some cars would get boxed in

Delightful quirky but also so lovely and comforting. Central. Great bar and restaurant. Really gracious staff who put up with our unusual needs. During a family time of duress not only was the surrey a reprieve for us but a great mellow place for our family to get together. Huge shout out to all the staff for making it such a great stay. Thanks you !

Had a wee battle with moderating the heat but we found a balance. Not a lot to complain about. Really on point stay all around .

Very enjoyable stay. Central location and ideal for the Eden Park games. Room very clean and awesome to have a restaurant too.

The hotel was fully booked for the All Blacks and the staff went above and beyond to cater for everyone. Great communication, efficient checking in etc, offered free van to the game and location was perfect. Thank you.

Nothing is good here or works. The air conditioning machine is way too noisy. So, in winter you don’t have heat while sleeping, if you want to sleep at all. The kettle, first time I used it I nearly got poisoned multiple “black specks” in the water. I’ve had to clean it to make it barely usable with still a risk of intoxication. And the staff, they tried to trick me changing me to another with the same level of noise. I am with an 8 years kid and they denied me a late check out complimentary or paying. This is with a De Luxe room I don’t want to even think about the regular ones. For a 4 stars no working restaurant and in the pub there isn’t food neither in noon nor later than 5pm. Leaving tomorrow morning to another hotel same price five stars.

We always stay here when we go to auckland... staff are amazing. According to my daughter the bar makes the best long Island iced tea.

The lift door does not automatically open ehen you try to stop it... I got my arm trapped.. just so everyone is aware.

Room was great for our family. Indoor pool looked great and nice for winter. Check in team was polite and helpful

Very disappointed in the restaurant. We asked for Gluten free meals. Checked when meals arrived and was assured food was GF. Upon paying the bill, was told it wasn't - very poor as mum is coelac.

Location was great for my needs - visiting relatives who live nearby. On bus route so easy transport.

Minor details - TV remote needs to be replaced. Had to turn TV off at the wall. No compendium advising of WiFi code, QR code for restaurant menu, etc.

Always stay at the Surrey when in Auckland. Everything one needs is close by - cafes are a short walk, its central and a good meeting point for friends/extended family, staff (esp Housekeeping!) considerate and kind.
