Have stayed here previously, for a wedding in 2016. As we were back in the area, last weekend, for two nights, we stayed at the Copthorne again. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms comfortable and warm. Excellent beds and bathroom facilities. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff very professional, and also friendly. We are planning on visiting the area again in Spring '27. Will definitely stay here again.

Parking on site is charged extra, no AC in the rooms.

Very nice room on the third floor major scaffolding work going on to replace windows but didn’t impact us. Breakfast was good we did have dinner on the Fri with our friends which was good.

Plenty of decaf coffee but no decaf tea available also in our room we only had whole milk but the nice chap on reception gave us some semi skimmed. Also had to order meals at the bar instead of at the table bit odd especially as there were 6 of us but with pen & paper all good.

Rooms are very dated and in need of modernising. Hotel reception area is so lovely but when you walk into your room you are disappointed.

The Hotel had no Air Con. manager at time offered to do a refund which was kind of him but I’ve been chasing for 1 month as not received money. Still no reply although Booking.com confirmed refund.

Fridge was filthy but rest of the room was immaculate. Restaurant is great for breakfast but very hit and miss in the evenings and chef is gone by 20:45

Staff were friendly and the room was clean and tidy.

However the bed was so hard, it really could have been more comfortable. The location is nothing like you expect from the photos. It's surrounded by office buildings and small industrial estates . Breakfast was plentiful but only of average quality. The coffee comes from a machine and is truly terrible.

Clean and comfy

The blonde lady on the reception was very friendly, informative and welcoming. Sorry we didn't get her name but she was on duty the late afternoon that we arrived and the following morning. Vicky the Restaurant Manager was also good and her staff were pleasant. The room was good and breakfast choice is decent.

The fact that there is now a private car parking company who have taken over the hotel carpark and is charging hotel guests £6 a night. Used to be complimentary for staying hotel guests. Still should be.

As soon as we got to reception we were greeted with a big smile. It was a gentleman who was on reception desk around 3pm. Sorry to say this but he had a round face baldish head but he was fantastic

Breakfast continues to let this hotel down. At this visit, coffee machines didn't work and when they were sorted the coffee was only Luke warm. Cereal bowls weren't clean.

The desk in the room covered the plug sockets. I had to move it forward to access them, then bend over the desk to put a plug in the socket.

Excellent location, good value for money, good food and the early bird and happy hour is great value your money.

The room was not topped up with toilet rolls, Tea and coffee facilities or clean towels for the 3 nights we stayed.

Attended a event on Sunday night at the hotel and the staff was so kind to both myself & my partner we are both disabled & in wheelchairs. Especially receptionist Donna & a young lad in didn't get his name.

Excellent location, very friendly staff who went out of their way to help. We didnt have any shampoo in the container. My partner mentioned it when we went down for breakfast, when we went back up to the room it had been filled.

We requested 2 x rooms next to each other and at the last minute we were told that this was not possible we received a text just after 8am in the morning asking what time we were leaving our room which was not appreciated and very poor customer service.

The rooms are always comfortable, the staff are always amazing. The breakfast is always good value- although as a vegetarian, I was disappointed that there were no mushrooms this visit. Big shout out to the chap at reception who managed to find us some scales so we could weigh our luggage before heading to Heathrow Airport!

The place is clean, in a good location, it was too warm at night so couldn't sleep due to the warm weather.

There is no air-conditioning and couldn't sleep well,due to the heat.

Friendly staff, comfy big bed, fluffy towels, excellent food. The Copthorne is situated very close to Merry Hill shopping centre which is enormous with hundreds of shops. It is also within easy reach of several attractions such as the Black Country museum, Safari park and Zoo.

Parking can be difficult on a busy Saturday night.

The staff were amazing, my room allocated was beautiful and the view was so pretty. My first time staying here.

The tiredness of decor all paint chipped. The ventilation was poor and I think the in room drink facilities could be better so basic and the kettle was tired. Packet sauce sachets in the restaurant were horrible but beautiful cloth napkins!!!

Bedding wasn’t clean

Staff were helpful throughout. They gave an option of how to avoid paying £18 car parking fee. The pool, steam room and sauna allowed us the chance to relax and the view of the canal from our room was lovely.

The Waterfront was deserted. A few eateries were open but otherwise there was nothing going on directly outside the hotel. It is great if you like quiet. The spa was fully booked from Friday to Monday so could not get any treatments. And the wifi was sporadic so had to use my data throughout the stay.

Breakfast - 8.30 and everything empty, no yoghurts, crossiants, bananas, pancake mixture, mugs, small plates, no jam, staff did their very best but our breakfast was ruined by having to continually ask putting ladies under more pressure, would possibly look elsewhere as a leisurely good breakfast is so important when on a rest break.

It was advertised that the room has a Air-condition unit but nothing of such and I can not imagine if my stay was few weeks ago when the weather was very hot. Though the staff provided me with a mobile A/c unit but I have to go to the bar to get ice which it is still not effective despite the fair weather.

The room was nice and spacious, as was the bathroom. The reception and dining area were very well presented, and the fact that there was a pool and leisure facility was a nice bonus. The bed was comfortable, and the room contained a fridge that was handy for storing purchased supplies. The staff were all really friendly, welcoming and helpful; and the breakfast had excellent choice - exceeding the usual expectations on its continental selection.

I feel like the rooms (or at least our room) would have benefitted from a more thorough clean in between guests. On one of the days of our week long stay we opted for the "clean" room option instead of the "refresh" option, and we both struggled to notice any difference other than the pillow cases had been changed (although it is possible that the toiletries were restocked at that point). The rooms also feel like they would benefit from modernisation - just a simple redecoration and improving the usability of the facilities would do, although installation of air conditioning would be amazing (a quite good electric fan was provided by the hotel, but air con would be ideal if possible).

Thre Hotel is well run. Clean . Always an easy stress free stay. We have used this hotel many times. Always good value

The price variation. Sometimes out of the blue the rooms become very expensive. Ime sure the hotel has their reasons. It's normally a very competitive price. Which we like . Just had a few grips now and then

The location was great the staff were great the food was very enjoyable we ate in the evening and breakfast. The rooms as requested were adjacent to each other the rooms were clean and our view was over the marina

Unfortunately the executive suite which was adjacent to one of our rooms with a connecting door was occupied by a couple who were having very loud and audible sex. Our 11 year old went to the room alone and came back not knowing what he heard saying he could hear groaning and people slapping each other we dismissed this and he wanted to sleep in his grandmas room so heard nothing further. His parents however were subjected to a prolonged audio version well into the night of what appeared to be very noisy and violent sex. Not the best start to our holiday but difficult to know who to tell

Access to the leisure facilities - swimming, sauna, steam and jacuzzi The staff are very welcoming and hospitable. A problem with a malfunctioning safe in my room was sorted quickly I enjoyed 2 good meals in the restaurant on the evenings - an excellent steak and a tasty curry

Disliked · I think that the hotel group should consider seriously investing in air conditioning in bedrooms. This is standard in many hotels. I stayed during the latest heatwave (temperatures up to 36 degrees on second day). The provision of fans helped but not enough. The bathrooms could do with refurbishing. Modern walk-in showers are par in many hotels of a similar price. The shower was over the bath - was okay, but could have been better. The toilet flush was very poor.

Good location, great staff. Room 107 a decent size with a comfortable bed. However, no air conditioning, wallpaper peeling in places and sink tap mismatched with the sink. Fan provided in the room but only one of two turn and tilt windows could open, not great in a room with no aircon on a really hot day.

Appreciated midday check out and 2 key cards. Enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room - at many hotels one is out of action. Staff efficient and polite.

Lovely welcome at reception. Comfy, clean room with fridge, which helped as it was hot weather. Great view of canal and easy access to Merry Hill. A very enjoyable and memorable stay.

Location was ok.

I advised Booking.com to advise the hotel that I am short in stature (4ft 2inches) and that I would require a room to access the basin and shower along with a bed of suitable height. Copthorne had not received this notification and had to change my room to a disabled access one. However, they could not provide a step to assist me to get in to bed. I had to use an upturned rubbish bin. This is not acceptable.

Room too hot. It faced west and window can only be open a crack. Some people may have difficulty getting in and out of shower, which is over the bath. No hand rail to assist

Location was amazing ! View from our room was amazing. The gym was not bad. Breakfast had a good selection of items

The rooms were a bit tired with some rough finishes, but it was completely adequate and the bed was comfy and the tv had access to Netflix so that was amazing. The noise from the bar directly opposite was very loud on the Saturday night!

Room was a nice size and the toiletries of good quality. There were empty beer bottles on the floor outside our room when we arrived and they were till there overnight. The tap in the bathroom sink was poorly located in that tfor the ewater to fall into the sink, the tap had to be turned on full.

Was not keen on the coffee in the breakfast room and the toaster took a very long time resulting in a queue for toast. Otherwise the breakfast was great.
