Incredibly steep stairs and a long way down to flat land. Absolutely nothing close by without having to go down the stairs. In the heat and humidity ( no air conditioning) it took quite an effort to go anywhere.
THE VIEW FROM ANY OF THEIR ROOMS IS AMAZING!!!
The hotel was nice, the room was clean. The view from the room was magnificent and breath taken. The was one issue and tgst was that there was no air conditioning available and it was so hot. Staff was great they even got us a fan but tgere was almost nothing we could do as it was so uncomfortable.
The staff is wonderful very welcoming and attentive. The property has an amazing view and the pool is nice the rooms are pleasant. The only big bummers were NO AC and it was sooo hot when I went so it was horrible trying to sleep at night in the hot weather. WiFi doesn’t reach up to the other floors of the hotel so basically no WiFi. The elevator didn’t work for the first couple of days when we got there so it was a hassle going up a bunch of flight of stairs everyday. And plus to get to the hotel walking to the hotel you have to go up a hill/ a bunch of stairs. And I think they were doing some exterminating as well when we were there. Besides that though our stay wasn’t too bad.
Me agrada quedarme al hotel la siesta. Una de las mejores vistas hacía al Mar si se quiere quedarse al centro de Vsllarta
All the staff were excellent! Beautiful property.
The stay was what i expected. Did not expect to be insulted by the woman at the front desk named Carol. Referring to me and Americans as dumb.......( in her exact words) for electing Trump. Also water pressure in room was poor. Difficult to take a good shower when spending the day on the beach.
Had to 15 to 20 minutes for hot water, kitchen was dirty and only had two dishes, internet was non existent and tv was broken
I enjoyed my stay here. It’s a quirky slightly rundown place that has perhaps seen better days. But it has character. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The views are amazing. It’s a bit noisy, so keep that in mind. The penthouse restaurant was very enjoyable. The pool is small and cold, but you can still do laps. great deal for the money. I would stay again
Nice relaxing place
The property was nice but getting to it is terrible. Climbing up and down all those stairs to get to town is quite challenging. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant up stairs was wonderful! Great food and views. They should have coffee somewhere in the building though,
Pros: beautiful view, close to the Malecon and friendly staff. Cons: no AC, very noisy at night, uncomfortable beds and the property is very dated. We paid more than we thought it was worth. Unfortunately we ended our trip here and had to go home for some rest and relaxation.
First off, I hate big shiny resorts. This building if rather old and is showing her age. If you are a resort/cruise ship kind of person, this may not be the place for you. The staff was super helpful whenever I needed anything. It is close enough to the Malecon that it is an easy walk down, but a requires a bit more effort on the way up the hill. The payoff is great views of Bay of Banderas. As many have stated, the beds are rather hard, but bearable.
This property was everything we had expected. We knew it was an older Mexican hotel and that is exactly what we were looking for when we booked. It was very quiet except at night as we had read in reviews you could hear the bars down the hill but this did not affect us. We still slept with the patio doors open. We again read that it did have 100 stairs to climb on your way up from the beach but we just made it part of our day and had no issues. The staff was great answering any questions but we are pretty independent travellers that like to figure things out on our own. They could do some minor repairs to the building and look at replacing dishes and cookware etc but that is what we expect to find in these old hotels… just part of the Mexican charm lol. Water pressure and temperature was a little fun to keep consistent but we never had a cold shower. There is no A/C but we didn’t require any with the breeze at the top of the hill. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back. A big thank you to the staff
We never stayed. The beds were like concrete and we left one hour after we checked in for a more comfortable hotel.
We enjoyed our stay here. The place looks like traditional Mexico. The view was amazing! The air blowing through the open windows was refreshing and it always felt great no matter what the temp outside. Walking up the hill at first was a workout but you find ways around the back and down the road into much easier. There is no ac and you won’t need it here as the wall of window opens up and air blows all day. If you want the traditional look and good people serving you then this is your spot! On another note they have El Panorama restaurant up top and the view there is magical. Get some good food and enjoy the view of Puerto Vallarta!
Management agreeable and flexible
Loved helpful and friendly Yasmina at the front desk. Wifi was not reliable. Lovely traditional hotel with great views and staff but is badly in need of renovations.
Carol & Jasmin went above and beyond regular service. They made me feel like family! The pool is nice, the rooms are great. Close to the Malecon, but those 100 (I counted!) stairs are a bit of a bother so if you have groceries you need a cab. But once you get there you are rewarded with fabulous views.
Wonderful view and suite. Outstanding 5 star restaurant. All the staff were incredibly nice.
After a minor problem with the water, they were cordial and offered us a complimentary meal.
The pictures do not accurately portray the hotel. 1) there is no balcony, it was a planter box of flowers, no where to sit. 2) No A/C, didn't realize that was something to have to look for, so this is just a PSA on the A/C. 3) Shower was horrible - low water pressure and the water was only cold, couldn't even take the cold edge off so you didn't shiver through a morning shower. There was a full kitchenette and the view was nice. When I say 3 stars for the area around the property, it's just because it is not the best area of town, but we didn't expect a 5 star location as we do like to explore older areas. The property is about 4 blocks from the Boardwalk and the restaurant at the top had a great view. We ended up moving hotels after spending 2 nights at the Hotel Suite La Siesta.
Have to be able to walk up and down hills. First time we’ve been w/o hot water. Great view if bay. Staff very friendly.
The staff are very kind and are very attentive and I feel very safe. There has a solo, single female traveler. I will continue staying at this location because I don’t like the big fancy commercial resorts right on the water when it’s just a couple minutes walk
Quiet hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Large rooms that are well maintained. Walkable to the malecon and many restaurants.
Large clean rooms and walking distance to the malecon. Friendly staff.
The property had a magnificent view of Puerto Vallarta but the only downfall is that it has no A/C. Most of Puerto is standard with very little A/C.
No ac
Walking out road are up and down hard on leg, internet connection in the room loose and no connection, have to go to lobby to connect to internet. Sometimes run out of hot water means cold shower, noise can be heard from bars loud music every night until 3am
Nice location
Guess service cleanliness was very good hotel was close to shopping...Things I didnt like about this property, No Airconditioner in Room only Big Fan above the bed , not good when Puerto Vallarta gets very Hot and Humid In addition this Hotel is in need of serious updates and maintenance (exterior painting/ buidings paint was peeling) I would be very cautious with children on the higher floors juliet balconies big sliding doors that open/ dont close latch properly, no safety .
Every staff member were extremely accommodating, polite and very helpful. The hotel is very old. But for the price I can’t complain
Completely awesome, second time staying there and didn't disappoint. The people, the views , the restaurant staff, excellent. No A/C no problem opened the sliding doors and let the outside in. Cool breeze coming from the ocean. Low water pressure in the shower but managable.
Muy cómodo y exquisito descanso
Totally enjoyable stay in a traditional vallarten style hotel.
Great views of the bay, and convenient location for walking. Amazing parking lot if you have a larger vehicle. That being said, our room only had fans and the ceiling ones were sketchy and the floor fan was insanely loud. You can hear señor frogs music until 4am on the weekend, even with the balcony door closed
This place has an unbelievable view on the city and ocean. My room was very clean, it was like living in a one bedroom apartment. Very cozy. The restaurant on top floor "El Panorama", has a variety of dishes with amazing flavor and beautiful presentation. You pay the price for the quality of food.. I'll definitely go back. Take a nice walk to the Malecón. Simply beautiful and relaxing before sunset.
Beautiful hotel, great location
The location and view are fantastic. They should upgrade their beds and mattresses. They are the weak link to this lovely old Mexican hotel. It's hard to recommend with only double beds and poor mattresses.
No safetybox.
A great little hotel with great Mexican flair. Awesome staff. Good walking area if you are fit. Lots of stairs to the Melvin
Amazing sunset ocean view big window studio. Amazing couch and bath tub. Good location. Easy hiking nearby. Nice view from window and rooftop. No AC. It can be really loud because of nightclub nearby and fireworks around 8:45pm and restaurant upstairs. Amazing stay
Beautiful views. Super friendly staff. The beds couldbe morecomfortable.
The property is one of the earliest constructed hotels in the area, and so it has a lot of genuine character. The view is unparalleled; we could see boats and fireworks and even whales!
This horrible. First and foremost no AC. Poor location. Old bed linens and towels. Terrible.
I wish i could post a picture. There was a fence above my door. So instead of a wall it was wood fencing. I could hear everything. No privacy. There was also false advertising. The room i picked said there was a patio and panoramic view. There was a gross film on the floor and the bed was super hard.
Have been to Puerto Vallarta many times. Spent time at this hotel many years ago. Wife had problems with her knee, so walking to the property was not easy, as it is almost 200 ft above sea level. According to other guests we spoke to, the property is for sale. It appears that not much money is being used for improvements. Hotel staff was pleasant and friendly.
This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my entire life, and I am no stranger to budget hotels. When I checked in there was BLOOD ON THE SHEETS. I had to scream to even get them changed. They didn't seem to think this was an issue. This should have been my sign to leave the hotel. I spoke to a couple that had been there for 11 days with no hot water, when I got to the room there wasnt even any water. Imagine staying somewhere you couldn't shower. I demanded a refund and they would not give one so I'm taking it up with my credit card. They're lucky they are not in America as I would be putting in a small claims case. DO NOT STAY HERE. This will ruin your vacation.
It was dated not clean room don’t have a way to lock them in the inside and there’s also no coffee no food nearby
The view was spectacular!!! It’s up on the hill, not easy to get to. You definitely need a taxi to get to the town or good shoes to make the 15 min walk. Unfortunately the day we reserved the hotel had no running water. We were out of water at 11:00pm, we had to make a new reservation.
No A C
We had to leave early due to fights being cancelled. Must rent a car or truck , it is the hight point of PVR
Great location and wonderful people. Unparalleled views and refreshing pool. Ocean breeze and ceiling fans work for me. El Panorama restaurant is nice too.
Probably nicest people working at front desk and restaurant I have ever met. Only complaint was no air conditioning. Restaurant was so hot was not in mood to eat. Fans throughout the restaurant would fix the problem.
Good area everything is within walking distance great ocean view, friendly staff I totally recommend
No Wifi and no AC. They say the Wifi connection is bad, but we were never able to connect, not from any area of the hotel and not even with the signal extender was right outside of our room. Definitely not a place for digital nomads. There is no AC, the fan broke after a few hours of having been on and then they took it and we didn't have one until next day. Bathroom was licking water all the time. On the bright side, the room had an amazing view, it was spacious, had a gallon of water, fridge, microwave and coffee maker, staff is friendly.
Great property in a great location! The staff was friendly and check-in was simple. The rooms are large and have a great view. A quick walk to the malecon, restaurants, and shopping.
No ac and very nosie people to making noise to 6 am
This is such a special hotel! Beautiful views, friendly staff, and charming rooms. Stayed for 4 nights and will come back on my next trip to PV. The neighborhood is walkable and in a great location in the city close to the Malecón. The 2 bedroom suite had a great layout. Pool was quiet and has a great view. A nice change from the loud energy of a resort. A read and return library, wifi, and water jug in the room were great. Super easy to catch buses near by or grab a cab/Uber. Drawback: The pool chairs need to be replaced. They are basically unusable.
Cool people. Hill is no joke
La Siesta is a Nostalgic unique place to stay. Our room was spacious and suitable. There is room for improvement a little more attention to minor repairs and deep cleaning would improve the ratings. The Panoramic Restaurant is second to none food, entertainment, ambiance, service and the spectacular PANORAMIC VIEW. Minimizes the small imperfections. We would definitely stay again.
Great customer service, excellent staff service, great location, awesome views
Excellent location. Walk down the hill cab up. No problem. Very clean and large rooms. Well equipped kitchen with a table. Comfortable sitting room. The restaurant is the best in paurto vallarta. Great staff, great food and perfect view. The staff went above everything to please us. Stayed three nights and ate there two times.
Lovely hotel, amazing views and location. It is right downtown, close to restaurants, transportation and the beach. You do hear the sounds of the city at night, especially when leaving the windows open, wifi is not consistent and the stairs can be a challenge, but if these things are not an issue for you, it is a perfect place to stay.
Upon my arrival I was notified the hotel was full, and no rooms available, regardles of having a paid reservation and confirmation available. Some areas of room not clean. Remotes for tv dont work, only one tv channel was available. Lots of trash bags outside building. I found mice poop on the cushion of sofa. Poor customer service.
View is off the hook.
The hotel staff was fantastic. My room view was amazing! Very happy with my stay and will be coming back again soon. The location was very convenient for all I needed to do and see in the area.
Excellent location walking distance to everything. My room had gorgeous views of the city and beach. The furniture is older and the hotel had not been remolded in a while but over all views and location is great.
Excellent location Very clean too Awesome view of the city Will stay again no problem
No air condition, no lockbox, elevator no working, tel not working
Excellent location to be on the malecon, awesome view of the bay. Music can be loud at night!
The views were amazing.
Perfect location. Beautiful views. Cons: the pool is in shade most of the day and icy cold. The beds are torture. They need new mattresses and the loungers by the pool badly need replacing. The hotel suffers from neglect. That said, it has a certain charm. My first instinct was to find another hotel but after a few days it grew on me. Walking to the Malecon, you have the option of steep stairs or a steep road. The road is easier and after a few days the climb becomes a non issue. The restaurant and bar don’t open until 5:00 and there are no amenities.
The hotel is in disrepair. There were switches that did not work, also the telephone. I left after 4 days because I needed the WiFi and theirs did not work.
Pros: great view, large balcony, room is very large. Staff clean as well as they can given the condition of the property Cons: very noisy until as late as 4am from dance clubs on malecon. A lot of steep steps or very steep street to access by foot. Hotel is very dated and run down. Hallways are poorly lit. Pool loungers and chairs falling apart, no umbrellas. Elevator noisy and kinda scary. Most of outlets in room are only 2 prong. No AC and fans in room are noisy. Wi-Fi is hit and miss in room but ok in lobby. No safe in room. The advertised "complete kitchen" is an old fridge, microwave dishes, cutlery & small coffee maker but no coffee. Weird obsession with guests abusing towels, we had to sign a paper agreeing to a penalty for abused towels, this was emphasised by a notice in the room Bring your own shampoo, non supplied No bar on site, restaurant opens at 5pm
Staff was wonderful, restaurant is well run with fantastic waiters and great food-open for dinner only. We loved being away from the beach front scene. The view was fabulous and we saw lots of whales. The pirate ship set off fireworks every night right in front which was fun. The pool area was low key and very clean-not heated but pleasant temperature for swimming (January). The hike up from the malecon is delightful but very steep on a brick lined staircase-4 blocks pretty straight up from the ocean but felt old world. Our only real negative was the 2 bars on the malecon-4 blocks away that play LOUD techno-beat music every night until 3:30-4:00 which was really annoying so if you are a light sleeper may not like it. Surprised that the business and neighbors allow that because it was so heavy base that you felt the beat. We were on the 5th floor so maybe it’s louder there.
Wonderful view and great restaurant overlooking the bay. Nice room and very happy there is an elevator!
We were not expecting all the amenities! Our room had a full kitchen with pots/pans and plates/glassware. The view from the room was incredible and we loved how close we were to the beach. The service was excellent, our room always looked great and office staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We also loved the option of going up to the roof for dinner or drinks! Overall a very lovely stay!
Not hot water after running for 20 minutes. Horrible bed and hurt my back. Mold kitchen appliants and cups. Huge noise at night, bugs are in the bathroom. I will never return, what a disappointment..
Great views.
It was set up in a beautiful hill over looking the whole coastline of Puerto Vallarta and a resteraunt in the 7th floor also overlooking Spectacular View
Older, quaint building with roof top fine dining restaurant and authentic Mexican style rooms with kitchenettes decorated with hand painted tiles. Beds firm as almost all beds in Mexico are, beautiful balcony with incredible ocean views!
This is our 4th stay at this property. Me and my family love it. We always stay in their suite with two bedrooms (each with a king bed and their own bathroom), full kitchen, living room and a veranda, and there is a nice pool. The veranda glass doors open almost entirely so we have an unobstructed view of the ocean. The pirate ship tour shoots off fireworks every night which is like a free show right in front of the hotel. The hotel is a bit dated and some things don't always work properly, however. During one stay our refrigerator stopped working, and this trip the hotel elevator broke. The Panorama Restaurant on the roof of this hotel is amazing and you can see the entire city from inside. Food, I hear, is spectacular even though we have never eaten there because it's very expensive. The suite we stay in isn't expensive though, less than a benjamin per night. No air conditioning needed because the cool breezes blow through the entire hotel day and night. We visit in late fall and the temperature is always perfect. I highly recommend this property if you work within a budget, like us, and want the most bang for your buck.
Stayed for 4 nights.. hotel is up a hill and is very quiet and clean.. customer service was very good.. be ready walk a steep hill if not driving.. has excellent view of town
The property is dated but that's kind of the charm about it. Absolutely love that the restaurant is on site and is so fantastic! Our favorite waiter by far was Bruno. Every time we come here we love to see him. Hold on to that one. Hotel la siesta! The whole staff is absolutely fantastic! We bring our guests here several times a year. You may have some issues with having hot water in some of the suites, but they are fully accommodated with everything you need in a kitchen and a view that is to die for!! Love that it has on site parking because that is hard to find in the area.
Good area deep in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, nice ocean view.
Great view nice clean room only sad thing is no air conditioning
Amazing ppl
Nothing to praise
The hotel was hard to find and was up a steep hill but did have an amazing view
Excellent staff.
Love this place and the views only drawback is the long high hill to it and no air conditioning
very friendly staff and really appreciated there very good english and helpfulness
Cute hotel. Reminded me of old Spanish style. Beds were so hard but the pillows were great. Amazing views. Nice restaurant on top floor. Would stay again.
The hotel is clean but very basic and a bit rundown; the bathroom especially needs updating. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The short walk down to the Malecon was ok but the walk up was challenging - worth the taxi cost for us. We ended up switching to an all inclusive resort after 3 days.
Really nice view and apartment like features. Nice kitchen.
Location is great and safe walk down to Malecon. Beautiful view from the balcony with amazing sunsets. The restaurant upstairs is great with amazing views as well. Highly recommend for the price. It’s a cute little suite. Lots of options for any kind of meal you’re looking for within a short walk.
room was dirty, broken handles on most of the drawers and the beds were horrible.
It was good
