The Royal Sonesta Boston

Clean, size of the room, Quality of breakfast

Noise during the night, aircondition ?

It was just okay.

They charge luxury prices for out of date and snarky staff. We were all woken up at 3 am because their sprinkler system failed and it was clear none of the staff had training on what to do in case of emergency.

Location was very great and staff were very friendly

The hotel rooms were not very comfortable for the given price. The smoke detector light lit up the whole room at night and flushing the toilet would wake up the whole room. I was not able to sleep well unfortunately and therefore couldn’t enjoy such a pricey hotel

Comodidad

Precio exageradamente elevado

Great location. The suite was spacious.

Staff communication was poor. We'd asked for a roll-away bed and were told it would be sent shortly. Had to call multiple times and when the staff showed up they were still confused about it and didn't quite get it. The batch tub side cover was falling apart/not properly fixed. There was a light bulb out in the room (which we called to have replaced).

We really liked the size of the room, the location with relation to the train/subway stop, and the location on the Charles River which made for nice morning walks.

View was terrible for what I payed and I payed in advance for the best deals I've stayed in a lot of hotels. In Boston this was the worst contruction going on no ac in lobby it was in the high 90 s thought I was getting a suite for the price I payed 2months before iam total dissatisfied.

Room service was good the parking was great.

Lovely area of Boston & very convenient location.

Ubicacion muy buena

It’s simple, clean and comfortable

The breakfast at the first day was excellent, while from the second day all breakfast staff had been changed, it wasn’t good at all

The location was fantastic for what I wanted to experience. The amenities were amazing. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. And the facility was extremely clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. I think four pillows should be mandatory in all hotels

There were only two negatives to my whole experience. One was that my room was right next to elevators but luckily I had my sound machine so it drowned out the noise. Second was that my shower was extremely hard to turn on and I had to really crank on it to turn it off so it didn't drip.

Staff was very helpful and accommodating, and the location was fantastic

Good location on the river

Bed was hard as a rock. New bed side tables reeked of a chemical smell. Varnish, glue, I don’t know what. Hit you like a wall as you entered the room. Stomach turning.

We upgraded to a river view. It was in part of the hotel that hasn’t yet been upgraded but boy, was the view worth it. Room was fine anyway!!

It was all good.

Staff are amazing! Rooms are clean

WI-FI …. 2026 and 1mbps??? And it barely works? Ironically if you pay for premium Wi-Fi, then it’s even worse.

The convenience to shopping and restaurants was wonderful!

I can’t think of any!

Staff, space in bedroom and bathroom, design, cleanliness, food, the view, shops nearby, felt safe in area, quiet and reapectful in hotel, starbucks

Need more plugs both sides of bed, coffee machine that doesnt leak

Nice facility

One of the days no one cleaned our room And the phone was not working

Location, staff, view

Clean and convenient.

The internet was awful and slow. When traveling for work (or anything frankly) in this day and age-- who has slow internet? That was unacceptable.

My son wasn't able to check in, and he was not able to stay at this hotel because he was not allowed to check in. We had to find another hotel, and now we had to pay for two hotels. I wouldn't recommend it because this should have been shared before booking. When we called the property, they said they would waive the cost, and then we still got charged. When I followed up, I received no response.

The view from the room.

Pool water could be cleaner,

Lovely hotel, great staff and a good location. Would definitely come back.

The hotel was lovely. A really good location, close to the city centre. I really like the gym and pool facilities. An early swim each day was a must.?

I had no complaints.

Lovely location right on river and close to transport system. Great staff.

No issues.

Location

Thank you to booking.com I had my confirmation for the exact room type I booked by name, description and photos. Yet, at check-in I was handed a key to a different tower ( a clear red flag) than the one my reserved room was in. I asked, is this the room I booked? At this point, not before, front desk guy confessed - no, your room isn’t ready. So I said I’d take a look and if it’s equivalent to the one I booked I will take it. But it wasn’t. Not even close. A clear down grade. So I returned to the front desk and was told my room would be ready in 4 hours. I return. Was given another wrong room. Same down grade. At this point I said either give me the room I booked and paid for or refund me. I finally got the room. As booked, it was a fresh renovated room with floor to ceiling views of the Charles river - not the dark tired smaller bad view rooms they kept trying to down grade me to. The next day I noticed on booking that they change the description in these lesser rooms to match the same description of the skyline renovated room I booked. Which will make it much easier to bait and switch the next guests who aren’t as demanding as me. I am a delta diamond medallion traveler. Meaning, I travel a lot and happy to pay for quality. I used to often stay at sonesta hotels around the world. It was a trusted brand. My daughter staid in a sonesta suites in Dallas recently that was horrific. Dirty, loud, sketchy. Wow. The brand has fallen hard. What a shame.

Conveniently located next to the Cambridgeside Galleria and near T stops. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel decor was nice.

Sleep quality was quite poor. The fire alarm went off one night in a false alarm and the hotel was very noisy at night. Hotel also didn’t have earplugs.

Shower

Great location. Easy parking. Beautiful lobby.

The rooms were very clean and it’s by the water! Only 10-15 min uber ride into Boston

The only thing I would say is the pool wasn’t heated very well. So we didn’t stay long in the pool.

location is great -- very close to shops and restaurants, and is within walking distance to MIT; very nice view of Charles river and Boston

the power outlets are placed in weird locations; some worked, some didn't

Nice river view and close to shops and Harvard

Coffee and tea can improve and provide crockery rather than paper cups. I don’t like being force to get my coffee from Starbucks The shower taps are so difficult to operate , you need a muscles to be able to turn the knob around And if you don’t turn it off hard it will be leaking keeping you awake The windows can do a bit of a spring clean to see the beautiful river view

Loved the view

Father in law had problems getting issued fixed in his room quickly (clogged toilet and faulty light)

The whole place, I loved how it was decorated!

The view is spectacular. Front desk is very attentive and friendly. The free cookies in the afternoon are amazing! Liked the avalsbility of on site restaurants and the promptnesd of staff to address problems and requests. I looked the indoor pool for my kids and self service parking is decently priced for Boston

The toilet leaked in our room. Not something that could've been predicted and it was addressed very very quickly. There was a film of dust around lamps behind the beds, resolved after I asked housekeeping to take care of it when they came to my room but would've been nice to not have to ask. The pool was lukewarm, not pleasant to get in. My kids didn't mind too much but i did. The desk in the room is worn out and has visible wear and year. I think it's time to change or at least fix this. While the room did not feel royal, the stay was overall good , the staff is excellent and the view is unparalleled.

Good pillows

First, the parking was challenging. Guests had parked across two spaces and it was hard to find a space. My check in was by a staff member who could just barely be bothered. The room was 75 degrees when I arrived. The tub was an odd configuration and had two shower heads that I kept bumping into and they were mounted very low. (Beware tall people.) Pool was fine but not the cleanest…

Very clean and friendly welcoming 😊

I loved everything

The location and the stuff.

Very disappointing experience at The Royal Sonesta Boston. Parking was not free and cost about $46 per day, plus a $75 daily deposit, which added up to $300 for two rooms over two nights. One room was not the river view room I booked, and they could not provide a similar replacement. The two rooms were also far from each other. My room was dusty, had insects inside, and the window had been left open from previous guests. I was shocked to find a huge spider in the room. Definitely not the level of service or cleanliness expected for the price.

It was an overall great experience.

Nothing

Everything. Very clean, rooms super spacious, comfortable bed, beautiful view to the Charles river, and just steps from the mall.

location

the rooms doors noisy when someone closes and staff talking in the morning in the corridor. The shower water with no power, a very draining water.

Posizione e vista

Great fit for our family trip. We only stayed one night, so the airport proximity was convenient. We caught a game at TD Garden just around the corner. Having two nearby rooms was perfect—clean, comfortable, and the double-bed room was spacious. We’d definitely return when we’re back in Boston.

No complaints, really.

Location & accesibility

-No gym open or main restaurant open (both under renovation) - Beds are way too soft and pillows way to firm and bulky

Very clean and very friendly staff!!!

Good location room’s were perfect and staff lovely

One of the restaurants was closed for refurbishment which we were not advised about
