Our family of five had a wonderful stay here! Fun, elegant & unpretentious vibe with 5star service! The staff, especially Matthew, was so professional & helpful, going above and beyond to make us all comfortable. Great location with easy accessibility to walk to some of the best spots in the city. love the amenities including free bikes/kayaks, the cocktail social hour and the beds/linens were very nice.
The Kimpton Marlowe is a lovely boutique hotel in Cambridge. The staff were all very nice, the restaurant breakfast/brunches were excellent, and my room was comfortable and well-appointed. I enjoy staying in smaller hotels, so this was a great fit for me. The only small negative is that I was in a connecting room, and my neighbor came over to complain about how loud my audiobook was. Personally, I didn't have issues with other guests being loud. The hotel is comparably priced to others in the area. It is a little ways away from the green line of the T, and the red line is a bit further of a walk. The little courtyard area, where there was some seating, was also a place for hired rides to pull in, and to have your car valet parked. There are also kayaks and bikes to use free of charge. Every evening, there is a wine and cocktail social hour with a snack served. In the morning, there is coffee, then later in the day they have iced water and herbal tea. There is also a new mall next door that shares a parking deck with the hotel. I would definitely stay at the Kimpton again when I visit Boston!
This hotel is among Amex’ Fine Hotels and Resorts so I was excited for this July 4 stay. The stay was generally ok, except the AC would stop cooling every hour or two. This wasn’t acceptable for a July in Cambridge so I called down the next morning and ask for a repair while we were out. Not sure whether anyone came (the front desk seemed to have forgotten about it) and the room was still warm for the remainder of the stay. Even worse, however, was that they were unable to find my MagSafe device, which is the size of a credit card and was in the safe. When I alerted them of the issue, they said that they’d check and get back to me. No returned call that day or the next. I re-explained. They said they’d call back. Same thing happened. It’s now been a few more days and I haven’t heard back. I wanted someone to grab it before the next occupants were checked in. That didn’t happen because of the delays. The workers were nice and polite. I just don’t know how to get someone to grab the card, which is laying in the tiny safe. Also housekeeping didn’t clean during my visit. The front desk says that the default is to not clean unless requested. My experience was in room 636 July 3-5. The room was quiet and relatively clean.
Sam at the front desk was knowledge, friendly and efficient. He gave us the absolute warmest welcome.
clean rooms, upkept property
elevator was broken, had to lug luggage up stairs. not much urgency to fix it
My wife and I had a marvelous time staying at this hotel over the weekend. Big SHOUT OUT to MATTHEW and SAM at the front desk as well as the manager, TARA. Thanks for making our stay memorable.
A huge shoutout to our doormen Aklilu and Teddy who took exceptional care of my husband and I while we were in attendance for our daughter’s wedding. Thank you so much!!
I travel to Lahey in Burlington every two months. I usually stay in Burlington close to 'Lahey'. I decided to treat myself as I am platinum/ambassador and have only stayed at 'Intercontinental hotels' for the last twenty years. My first time at a Kimpton was better than I expected. 5*+. Recognition of Club status, upgrade and a hotel that has a wonderful staff. After so many years of staying only at IHG, I am acquainted with many of the General Directors in Europe.I saw the same results when the GM and his staff cover all facets of the hotel prodigiously. The final result is an exemplary stay. The hotel restaurant was marvelous. No need to go out searching for a restaurant. The breakfast was of the same caliber . The rooms were well appointed and sparkling clean. Cozy and top line modern. I just loved the hotel. BTW, I brought my Golden Retriever 'Skye' , who is usually more polite and well-behaved than most people when staying at a hotel. She was in her glory by the attention she recieved. I am coming back this month and I've already booked my stay at my new favorite hotel when I go to Burlington, The Kimpton. I notice everything at an IHG hotel and the professional team with a dash of warmth was the perfect combination. See you next week.
Excellent stay. I loved the social hour from 5 to 6pm, where they give out free wine and you get to meet other guests
I called several times to try and get a pair of shoes I had left from a stay a few weeks prior. The phone was kept on hold and I was not given a definitive answer, so I went to the hotel in person. All of the Front Desk staff were truly very sweet, patient, and accommodating- with the exception of the manager. Sophie was inmediately very short and impatient. She spoke down to me when I provided the dates of my stay, and was clearly very frustrated when she could not find me in the system. Once she found my reservation, I was given the wrong pair of shoes- with another room number on the label of the bag. I told her that these were not my shoes- and her answer was “Well this is all we have.” I told her I left my shoes with one of her colleagues, and she proceeded to raise her voice- I even had to ask for her not to talk to me like that This was after they had already confirmed my name and prior room number. I asked her to please check the bell closet, so she went to look for them there as well. While she walked away, one of the agents at the desk was kind enough to offer me some water, she was very polite. Please ensure that Sophie knows not to speak to a guest like that ever again. It was frankly very disappointing- the stay itself had been fantastic and everyone else was really kind. The shoes were ultimately found, however, I should have not been spoken to like that.
Alcune persone al desk molto gentili… altre no!
The location is great, and the facilities were in good condition. The room was overall comfortable - good bed, hot shower, etc. Some of the front desk staff were super helpful. We would probably stay here again if the price is right.
Our experiences with the reception desk staff were uneven. Two staff members were *super* helpful - above and beyond, while the rest seemed annoyed or indifferent - not quite the 4-star service expected for a Kimpton. The only downside of the room itself was that the blackout curtains didn't really hold back the light very well around the margins.
I recently stayed at Kimpton Marlowe Hotel and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional, and every staff member was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. A special thank you to Mike at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Before I even arrived, I called on the day of check-in and they had already blocked a room for me, arranged an early check-in, and even upgraded my room. For my birthday, the team surprised me with champagne, strawberries, and cookies, which was such a thoughtful and generous touch. My party felt truly welcomed throughout the entire stay. Even when I noticed my shower was not working properly, they sent an engineer right away to fix the issue and followed up afterward to make sure everything was resolved. It is rare to find a hotel with both excellent service and such personal care. I will definitely be back again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cambridge.
Stayed at the Kimpton while celebrating our daughter’s college graduation this past weekend. Huge thank you to Tara and Ben for making it extra special!
We didn't have breakfast there
Very disappointed. Hotel is ok, no microwave in rooms, no tea offered, 1 bar of soap for the whole room. Breakfast is horrible on weekends. Line over 50 people long at 9.30 on weekends…was expecting more for this hotel and will not be back. For a Kimpton, it’s not well managed…
Second time staying here. Chose this hotel again because our first time in the previous summer was awesome and because we are IHG Diamond Elite members. Second time was lackluster. The room that they put us in was right next to the gym. People on the treadmill could see directly into our room. We had to have the curtains closed during our entire stay. Plus, you could hear the heavy weights being dropped to the floor. The hallway also had this greasy smell. We could not pinpoint why since the rooms are regular hotel rooms and not suites with kitchens.
Rooms were nice, restaurant nice and close to where I had to go. Plus parking
My husband is a patient at a local hospital in Boston sudden admission. So I had to bring the dog! Really PET friendly. But the staff, every single one, KIND. Helped us through this troubling time. I will never forget this hotel or all the kind staff
Hotel was clean, modern and located convenient to things. Food from the restaurant was good, but the hostess was not friendly at all. Just about threw the to go bag and walked away.
We only had 1 towel and no wash clothes in our room. The shower handle was broken and barely worked and there was mold in the shower mortar.
Location was great because it was next door to a small, nice mall with stores like Aldo, Victoria’s Secret, TJMaxx, Footlocker, CVS, etc. it also had a Cheesecake Factory where we had brunch and dinner. Convenient if you have forgotten to bring things with you as you can buy them from those stores!
I am not sure why the second night, both my kids and I had severe asthmatic symptoms requiring us to take our inhalers every 2 hours. I had noticed condensation on the window sills, windows obviously were unable to open, no balcony, and once we turned the heat on a little, we felt suffocated. I’m not sure if it was the carpeting- which I specifically look for hotels with no carpeting especially being pet friendly- or dust since I noticed it in the vent above the shower, or possible mold we could not see. It was very difficult to pinpoint because the hotel seemed so clean and nice/upscale. I’m really not sure what did it, but it took us a good 10 hours after leaving the hotel to start feeling better but my chest is still a bit tight. I am allergic to dust mites, pet dander (I have a toy poodle that does not cause allergies), and mold. This was the main downfall of the hotel. The other would be that there isn’t much else to walk to and eat if it’s cold outside. I would probably prefer to stay in Boston next time. Otherwise, the hotel had great staff, chargers for our phones if forgotten. They also charge 30$ per day “amenity fee” which I think is a little ridiculous because it should be included in the stay! Out of that fee, they give you a 10$ per day credit that you can use at the restaurant inside the hotel or the snack bar they have available.
To the Management Team at Kimpton Marlowe, I am writing to share our wonderful experience during our first visit to Boston. As Chase partners, we chose your hotel for our stay and were impressed from the very beginning. Despite our early arrival, the staff handled our luggage seamlessly so we could explore the city. We would like to especially commend Sara for her professional check-in service and helpful local tips. We also thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience; the quality of the food at both breakfast and dinner was exceptional. Most notably, we want to recognize your doorman, Aklilu. His passion for his work is inspiring. He went above and beyond to ensure our rental bikes were in perfect condition, carefully checking every detail and inflating the tires. Such dedicated service is rare and deeply appreciated. We hope the hotel recognizes his hard work. We look forward to staying with you again in the future!
The hotel is spotless and welcoming. Great staff, and the location is also excellent. It's near public transportation and also right next to a nice mall.

Perfect location to walk around, with the Help of Garret at front desk explained everything with so much calm and professionally, outstanding customer service. Will definitely stay at this hotel 100% recommended.
We had the most enjoyable time staying at the Kimpton Marlowe in Cambridge. Parking and check-in was simple and we received a welcome gift at check in with bottles of water and some snacks as well. The rooms are newly updated and very nice. The breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic! Not to mention the complimentary coffee in the lobby was the best coffee we had all weekend! The hotel is connected through the garage to a small shopping mall where we did “mall walking” and browsing one afternoon. There is a food hall in the mall as well that also looked fantastic. We will absolutely stay here again, as we had a memorable and wonderful time!
Great location, easy access to North Station on Green Line. Front desk, Sophie in particular, was super helpful/attentive but everyone we encountered was great! Very accommodating, nicely decorated and very clean. On site restaurant was very convenient. Would stay again next time we are in Boston!
Had a great time at this Kimpton. Stayed over the weekend with our dog. The staff are the most welcoming folks we’d ever had. They were very accommodating to our request to clean our room at a specific time. There is a parking garage close by that had $15/day parking during the weekend that worked out for us. The area is within walking distance of cafes and downtown Boston. We’d stay again.
Everyone was extremely pleasant and so helpful. Rooms were nice. One of our bathroom mirror lights did not work. Every single staff member was extremely kind. I would 100 percent go back. Breakfast was very good and the cocktail social in the main lobby was a great bonus! A huge thank you to “Sophie” at the front desk, as well as the others at the desk! Thank you.
Great location near my office. I like to walk when the weather is agreeable. My room was clean and roomy. Comfortable bed, nice desk, accent chair with ottoman. Front desk is friendly and helpful. Hotel offers a daily wine tasting in the lobby at 5pm. The restaurant has nice options for B/L/D and great service. I look forward to my next stay.
We had a lovely two-night stay at the Kimpton Marlowe. The hotel is very conveniently located, about an 8-minute walk from the Lechmere and Science Park stops on the Green Line, making it easy to get into Boston. It’s also not far from TD Garden, Harvard Square, the North End, and many major tourist spots. We were upgraded to a spacious king suite with a sofa bed and a rollaway, which was a pleasant surprise. Thanks to the front desk team for being so attentive whenever we needed assistance. The text messaging service was very easy to use and extremely convenient. Special thanks to Irina, Sean, Michael, Matthew, Sophie, and Cassandra for their excellent service. The hotel is also pet-friendly, which we appreciated. We enjoyed the daily happy hour with complimentary wine from 5–6 pm, and breakfast at Bambara was very good. The hotel is right next to the CambridgeSide Galleria Mall, which is handy if you need anything, CVS, food court, and other shops are just steps away. Overall, a great stay and we would happily return.
The hotel is immaculate and very nicely decorated. The location is convenient for the Green Line into Boston,or walk to Kendall Square Service was great.it's also next to Cambridgeside, which has a CVS,restaurants, and stores.
This is literally the only thing tht was wrong . One of the charging outlets on one of the night stands didn't work properly. That is a very small thing indeed and I only mention it to show how great everything was. If that's all that isn't perfect, you are doing great! Even the bed was comfy.
We love this hotel, we’re been coming every December! The hotel is always decorated beautifully for the holiday! The staff are all so friendly, welcoming & professional! Special shout out to ‘Baxter’ the Christmas pup! Thanks for a wonderful stay, loved our room, it was very comfortable and tastefully appointed.
Staff was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to welcome us and our pets!
No complaints…it was inconvenient to have to log in to WiFi every day of our visit. And the outlets and lights were only on one side of the bed. Both sides would be nice for charging phones, reading and setting an alarm
We stayed here this weekend using Chase’s The Edit program. The staff was well-versed in the details of the program, even though it’s fairly new. We were upgraded to a gorgeous suite, spoiled with bubbly and chocolate strawberries (celebrating an occasion), enjoyed early check-in, great breakfasts and cocktails, evening social hour with complimentary wine, and the holiday decor in Miracle, and the hotel in general. Beautiful property and excellent location. Michael, at the front desk, was exceptionally helpful and kind. He really deserves a special shout-out. The entire staff was great, though. Can’t wait to stay here again!
After a long drive, the nicest spot to stay. From the start with doorman Akililu, who helped to valet my car and make me feel at home right at arrival. His service and warmth is one of the reasons I would return here. Additionally, beautiful view of Boston over the river and a well needed rest.
We had such a great experience celebrating my son's birthday at the Kimpton Marlowe, and the hotel staff could not have been more kind and attentive. Sam and Matthew went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and even threw in some extra surprises like a gift for the birthday boy. The room was lovely, the restaurant delicious, and the atmosphere perfect. We will definitely be visiting again!
Deram US$60 pelo inconveniente.
As a Hilton Diamond and Marriott Platinum member, I’ve stayed at many top hotels but the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts has quickly become my new favorite. The rooms are elegant, spotless, and comfortable, with stunning views of the Charles River. The staff went above and beyond with warm, genuine, and attentive from my check-in especially Matt and Sam at the front desk. Plus, the location was perfect and peaceful yet close to Boston attractions. In addition, the Bambara Kitchen & Bar offers fantastic cocktails and food selections that truly impressed me. Every detail by the staffs made my stay memorable. The Kimpton Marlowe delivers luxury with heart, and I can’t wait to return.
Felt very luxurious! Staff was very kind as well!
Very good, well designed modern hotel which manages to make public areas feel intimate and private areas spacious. Excellent staff and great location both for public transport and those with cars. We had a lovely room overlooking the canal.
Can’t think of anything.
The location is great - walking distance to several sights in Cambridge and the Charles River and close to Boston. Fun nostalgic details. Our bathroom light was out, for the very expensive rate, this is a disappointment, also the service was not quite as good as I would expect at that price.
From the moment of arrival to departure the doorman Aklilu made the experience fabulous! He greeted me with a smile, set me up with a bicycle and directions to enjoy the Charles river path to watch the regatta. Upon departure he helped me return the bike, collect my luggage and get to the airport. What a nice man! Kimpton is lucky to have him! Thank you Aklilu❣️
Clean room didn’t eat there thiugh.
If your temp concerns per night and a decent bed, this will do the trick but
Great stay! Beautiful property
Everything was very nice.
Maid service did not come. Asked for a hairdryer with a nozzle to atta h. Had to ask 3 X and finally the answer was no. Room was so dark because lights were very small and low. Had a wedding couldn’t see to do my makeup. Really ark in bathroom.
Nice
Great stay!
This hotel is completely fine. The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. It lacked the personality that many Kimpton Hotels have. It felt a bit generic. With so many hotels in Boston, I would probably not stay here again, but there was nothing really wrong; just nothing really great.
Shower curtain very dirty. Both sets of sheets had stains. Missing tile in shower, and hair on bathroom counter. Also, very warm, unable to lower below 65, wife was warm all night
Very comfortable hotel in Cambridge. Great location and easily accessible to city. Restaurant for breakfast was convenient and very good. Staff at hotel and restaurant/bar were very pleasant. Stayed 2 nights for wedding. Lounge with free coffee and water was nice space. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Access to walkway behind hotel, Lechmere Canal was a pleasant place to walk
There were a couple of small hairs that weren't mine at the corner of the tub but the rest was great.
Great suite room design awesome bathtub size (extra deep)
Awesome
Lovely facility nice location
Nothing comes to mind
Chic. Comfortable. Kind, helpful staff.
This was my first stay at a Kimpton property and suffice to say it would not make me inclined to return to this brand. Pros 1. The location was reasonable enough and fairly convenient for public transport / walking into Boston. There’s not much of significance nearby though, and the adjacent Cambridgeside shopping mall offers relatively limited dining and retail options. 2. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and reasonably clean. Cons 1. The check in process was slow and seemed very clunky. 2. I wasn’t impressed to find that, despite having been told in writing prior to my Rewards Night stay that I would not be charged the property’s $30 nightly ‘Amenity Fee’, the person checking me in tried to insist that I had got this wrong and that I would be charged this ridiculous fee which seems to offer nothing of any real value to a guest. I mean who the hell wants to borrow a Polaroid camera or a vinyl record player, anyway?! Seriously, this was stated as one of the so-called perks attached to this additional charge. When I showed the front desk clerk the email confirming that a reward stay would not attract the fee (sent only 10 days prior to my check in date), he tried to have me believe that I was mistaken and the policy had changed since then. However, I held my ground and he conceded saying that ‘as a gesture of goodwill’ he would remove the charge. How incredibly patronising! 3. The service at check in was pretty typical of the service at every other point of my stay; slightly aloof and a little dismissive, and not at all genial. This dog friendly hotel seemed to pamper pooches far more than human guests in my opinion. By the way, if you’re not a dog lover, be aware - there were lots of them staying at the Kimpton Marlow! 3. The lighting in the bedrooms is woefully poor, with no central light controls for the floor and table lamps used to light the space. To have to get out of bed and turn out all the individual lights in this day and age is unheard of. 4. Maintenance of the room and bathroom was only average. There was unsightly limescale build up on the black taps and the shower head which was not great. 5. The breakfast welcome amenity for IHG Diamond Elite customers is really quite poor for what is meant to be an upscale brand. The ‘choose one item’ ruling is not at all generous compared to other IHG brands with buffet offerings, and the counter service ordering arrangement on weekdays felt like having breakfast at McDonalds. Overall, I was largely unimpressed and wouldn’t choose to stay here again. Neither would I choose another Kimpton Hotel as it seemed to me that this brand was triumph of style over substance, practicality and customer focus.
Front desk guy was really nice when I talked about my moms recent brain surgery. He helped me through a tough moment by being empathetic. Very much appreciated.
Just loved it. The location, the staff, the room. It is hard to find a place with proactive staff, kind and very efficient.
nothing
Loved everything here. Amazing view, with a nice park near by. Would definitely stay again.
Property and staff was amazing nothing to complain about, I will be staying again.
הכל. נקי, מעוצב, חשבו על כל פרט בחדר. צוות מקסים. מסעדה טובה. שעת יין חופשי כל יום אחהצ.
The breakfast brunch served by Bambara was excellent. The staff were lovely, attentive, kind and smiling, and the coffee was perfect.
We just returned from our first visit to the Kimpton Marlowe and it won't be our last! We had such a great time - super pet friendly (we brought our cat!) the room was extremely clean and really beautiful, and it was in walking distance (or a short drive) to a bunch of great Cambridge and Boston spots. This was our first time ever traveling and staying at a hotel with our cat, and we were really nervous about how it was going to go. This stay solidified that we will be seeking out Kimpton locations for any future cat vacations! The staff was so nice, we signed a cute "pet contract" in which our pet promised to pay for any extreme damage to the room, and otherwise she was just welcome to enjoy her stay! They have "pet in room" signs to put on the door to warn housekeeping, and on checkout they gave us some cat treats made by a local pet bakery!! So cute and sweet. The room was so nice - really clean for a pet-friendly hotel and so beautiful! We were in an exterior king and I highly recommend - the view of the canal and park was stunning, the windows were huge and clean, and the bed was SO comfy. Location was great - we walked from the hotel into Boston (Quincy Market area) which was a kind of long but nice and definitely doable walk, and we also went to some great spots closer to the hotel (HIGHLY recommend Bom Dough for incredible breakfast and coffee, as well as Cafe Beatrice which had great salads and pastries). Behind the hotel is a lovely park and canal, and we couldn't get over how quiet and relaxing the whole area was. We loved being near enough to the Boston area for when we wanted that vibe BUT staying in such a calm quiet escape was definitely the move so you can pick what kind of energy you want...for fun nights out we took quick rides to Fenway and the Seaport area, and then for chill nights we took walks along the canal near the hotel and got takeout from nearby dinner spots so we could enjoy quiet, relaxing nights in with our kitty :) Perfect balance. We loved our stay and can't wait to return!
Lovely rooms, so spacious. Great front desk staff and recommendations. Tatte walking distance!.
Very nice hotel. Walkimg distance to TD Garden and plenty of shopping.
We had a pleasant stay at the Kimpton Marlowe. Everybody on staff was super friendly and helpful, even to the kids! (Thanks for the bubbles!) Nice activities offered to guests like kayaking, bikes, wine tasting. Great parking shared with the mall next door, which had dining options if you didn't feel like walking too far. Not that far of a walk to Boston. Will definitely stay again!
Wine hour, clean comfortable rooms, pictures
Parking
Wonderful suite and view of the city and river. It was great to be by the river walk and nice neighborhood. Lovely Boutique style hotel.
Hotel was nice, clean walking distance to shops and restaurants.
The staff here is excellent. So helpful. I will try to stay here every time I'm in Boston
The staff was friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. I attended the daily Mixology class at 5 PM (included in the amenity fee), which was a fun experience. The bartender—who was very nice, though I didn’t catch his name—prepared a cocktail and shared some interesting tips on mixing drinks. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
The view from the rooms on the 8th floor were amazing. The restaurant, Bambara, was phenomenal; and the staff there were exceptional. I don't think we can stop raving about the coffee; my wife and I fell in love with it. The front desk were prompt and professional and very easy to work with. We enjoyed being able to use the hotel's bikes *with* helmets!
The bathroom did not have a fan and was located on the same wall as the bed; there wasn't much privacy between these locations in the room. The lack of fan made the bathroom steamy. The closet in room 820 was particularly narrow; it was hard to share the space with my wife. The N'spresso machine was a nice touch, but could use a small placard to explain its use.
Great
The very best hotel on our tour of the Northeastern states, and we are happy to recommend it! We found The Kimpton Marlowe to be modern and spotless, our rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. We were impressed with all the amenities the hotel offered. Facing the inner courtyard, our rooms were quiet, which we greatly appreciated. The staff both at the front desk and the restaurant were very kind and accommodating. We had easy access to our car in the basement below, and as two of our suitcases were lost be the airline, the mall next door was a bonus. In our view (European tourists) a minor downside to the hotel was the location. Walking to the interesting parts of Boston was a bit uninteresting as we had to cross several roads with a lot of traffic.
The Marlowe is a great hotel sitting on The Charles with a great view of Boston, especially Beacon Hill . Walking the Charles is something everyone should experience. Walking over the Longfellow Bridge is an experience we should all be able to talk about The rooms are nice and updated. The concierge will guide you on getting all the information on Boston and Cambridge historical attractions. Last time I checked, their rates were too good to pass.
