1) All was fine just that the room was a bit small for a single bed. I felt like staying in a prison cell but exclusive 2) Cafe should open earlier than 7.30am. 7.30am is too late. 6.30 or at least 7am based on my experience with other hotels.

The location was ok only because of the Food Festival during our stay.

The breakfast system is unacceptable. You receive MYR 25 in breakfast vouchers per person, per day, but the cheapest main dish costs MYR 28. This means that, no matter what you order, you have to pay extra. In my opinion, this cannot really be advertised as breakfast included. We raised the issue and were eventually given additional vouchers, but we should not have had to complain in the first place to receive an actual included breakfast. Another major issue was the room itself. As it had no windows, we expected some form of ventilation to deal with humidity, but there was none. The damp smell in the room was terrible. We also asked for a second key card so we could leave the air conditioning running during the day to reduce the humidity and sleep more comfortably at night, but this was refused. The room was also poorly soundproofed, the bed was broken so it was very uncomfortable. We asked for another room. But they said the hotel was fully booked. The staff were not particularly friendly and rarely even said hello. Finally, the hotel is around a 30-minute walk from the city centre, which made the location less convenient than expected. Overall, this was a major disappointment. The stay was uncomfortable, and we definitely would not choose this hotel again.

Room could do with deep clean and some refurbishment. Breakfast voucher for downstairs cafe doesn’t really cover food and a coffee- either/ you need to pay to top up.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im ROXY :) Sehr nettes Personal und die Lage war sehr gut... nicht mitten im Trubel, fussläufig ca. 15 Minuten bis zur Waterfront und Chinatown auch gleich um die Ecke. Wir hatten ein Zimmer ohne Fenster was auch völlig ausreichend, ruhig und sauber war. Sehr gute Ausstattung und bequeme Betten. Wir können das Hotel empfehlen :)

I like the location. It is just next to St Peter Catholic Church. Eateries and shops are just across the road.

The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the location is close to the city centre. "The breakfast was delicious, but you need to place an order instead of having a buffet. The wait for the order was quite long, and an additional charge was applied."

The room was not cleaned and the trash was not disposed of. There was no water hose in the toilet. The bathroom door could also be seen from the outside.

RARE finding, clean, spacious, bathroom very clean and all looked new, smells good. In house cafe, i Find it very reasonable. On top of everything, hotel gave RM25/each coupon to claim at cafe.!! I had next day very early flight, not able to use the voucher for breakfast ,but they let me use it on the same day I check in. Very accommodating too.

Strategic location, near to everything

The pillowcase doesn’t seem washed. It smells of socks. Lights from the corridor was bright, coming in from the window in the bathroom. Hard to sleep as the bathroom door was translucent

The breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. The environment was quiet.

The hotel location was far from eateries. Limited restaurants nearby.

Hotel provided breakfast voucher at Ember coffee shop in the lobby which was good and convenient. King size room was big ,spacious , but its lighting was a little shortcomings. The bed was fine. The pillows were clean and nice. The bathroom was good size , clean ,and equipped with essential toiletries. Hotel staff were nice and accomodative . The same went for the cleaning staff and Ember coffee shop.

The location is good. Walking distance to most of the popular attractions. The hotel is generous, they gave us MYR50 value of voucher per day to use at the cafe to exchange any food and drink we like.

Hotel located in front of traffic light. Sound proof of the building is really bad especially during the night. The loud noise of vehicles felt like you are sleeping by the road side.

Por ponerle una pega mejorar la insonorizacion ya que esta en una zona con bastante trafico y se escucha. El desayuno incluido es en una cafetería dentro del lobby pero solo te cubre 25 MYR, y tienes que pagar la diferencia.

Good location on a main route. Room is neat and felt safe. Could leave luggage at reception. Nice café with voucher for breakfast on the ground floor.

Mattress was hard, with base sagging a bit in the middle.

1. Room and bed was ok. But room wasn't cleaned properly when I asked them to. Bed sheets were not changed, only towels. 2. Front office staff always helpful and nice.

1. There is no free breakfast. The hotel provides a voucher of RM25/day/pax to be used in their cafe. Alll ala carte items and expensive. You have to top up if you exceed the value of purchase. This shld be made clear on their info. 2. I had food poisoning after eating one of the pastries on the first day, a flan egg tart. Fell sick for 2 days. I told the restaurant twice, but I don't think k they removed the item after my complaints. It was still there when I checked out today. 3. But the coffee is good in this cafe despite the high price. Best to book this hotel without breakfast, as plenty of local food shops around the corner in Padungan, literally a tourist street.

El hotel estaba muy bien, era bastante nuevo, habitación grande y cómoda. Estaba cerca de una calle con muchos restaurantes y no se escuchaba mucho ruido de la calle.

Lo que no nos gusto fue el engaño con el desayuno incluido. Al hacer la reserva ponía que tenia desayuno incluido pero al llegar nos dieron unos vales por 25 ringgits por persona y dia, que no eran suficientes para un desayuno completo, ya que la mayoria de desayunos de la carta eran superiores a 25 ringgits y eso sin la bebida. Con esos 25 ringgits de daba para un cafe y un croissant, cosa que no considero un desayuno completo. En la calle con 25 ringgits desayunabamos 2 personas con bebida incluida y aqui con 50 ringgits para dos personas te daba para bien poco. Cuando preguntamos en recepcion nos dijeron que era asi y no habia posiblidad de tener mas vales o de usar varios vales el mismo dia. La verdad eso me parecio una estafa, porque en cualquier lugar que ofrezcan desayuno te dan tipo buffet o te dan opciones mas nutritivas, un croissant no es un desayuno optimo, tampoco pedimos un banquete, pero almenos unas tostadas con huevos hubieran estado bien.

Aircond is cold enough

Cleanliness of the hotel room especially bathroom area. Even my house’s bathroom is not dirty as that. And fyi, there is a cockroach in the bathroom, my 7 years old daughter is screaming seeking for help.

I love the fact that my deluxe triple room is big enough to accommodate 3 adults and 1 kid.

The staff at the cafe need to smile a bit.

Das Hotel liegt gut am Eingang von Chinatown. Das Frühstück im angeschlossenen Restaurant "Ember" ist herausragend gut. Taxis können bequem vorfahren und abholen, insgesamt ein überzeugendes Gesamtkonzept.

The opposite building plays loud music until morning. Not suitable for light sleepers,I couldn’t sleep the whole night.

Overall it was a great experience to stay here. This is my second time staying at Roxy Padungan. The location is great. The staff is so helpful and friendly. If i got the chance to visit Kuching again, i will definitely stay here.

I think can do something about the breakfast. I know it’s ok to give people the rm25 voucher to eat whenever u want from 8am to 8pm. But i guess i prefer the breakfast to be like simple ‘hotel-style-buffet’. I don’t mind to get like scrambled eggs, sausages, baked beans or potatos, fried rice or noodles or bread toast and unlimited black coffee for breakfast. But the rm25 voucher per day for breakfast is just not for me and some of the menu are more than rm25 and u have to pay extra if the menu exceeded than rm25. That is only for food, i had to pay extra for my coffee which is a bum for me. But overall the food taste quite good.

The location was supreme, the staff was exceptionally co-operative, to Mention Mr. Vincent at Ember Roasters, Shadaan and Ehsan and Scott aswell. The room keepers were very active and my stay was comfortable. 11 out of 10. Loved it

The new commode bowls are a hassle, Please have them changed
