The Hue Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Das Hotel ist recht neu, die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gut eingerichtet sogar mit kleiner Küche. Frühstück gibt es keines aber Kaffee gibt es kostenlos an der Rezeption. Die Lage ist je nachdem was man sucht, sehr gut. Wir waren auf der Durchreise, dafür ist es prima, Tankstelle und Supermarkt in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Man kann leider nicht wirklich lüften (wie üblich). Preis ist eher hoch.

Room was huge. Room was clean. Location was very easy to get to.

Bett war sehr unbequem. Fitnessraum war mit Möbeln zugestellt.

Es war sehr sauber und hatte alles was man braucht und wir kamen auch mit dem Auto super hin auch zu den malls und Restaurants.

Es gab nicht viel auszusetzen. Die Klimaanlage war recht stark auch der sanftere Modus hat zum Teil einen Zug gemacht.

In general the city. Not a touristic attraction as far as I saw. I booked more than 4 months in advance and not to getting rooms together or at least in the same floor was not convenient, in particular because seeing some of the other customers, I worried somehow about my children.

We found parking was not good

Location of the hotel was easy to access from the highway. The room was exceptionally clean, perhaps because it is still quite new. Checking out was made pleasant because of the very friendly desk clerk.

This is a budget hotel, so some corners have been cut - small lobby, only one elevator, outdated low toilets, very few television channels. The room was very large but that made the television a long distance from seating. The desk clerk at check in was very quiet and seemingly unfriendly.

The room was exceptionally clean, the room had good quality drapes, the air conditioner was quiet and efficient, the bed was super comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. To our surprise, the room had a full kitchen. For us, the location was ideal.

Unfortunately, there weren't any bedside lamps! It would have been nice to have had a coffee maker in the room as well. Although we didn't use the kitchen facilities that were there, it would have needed to be better equiped for cooking meals.

Asked for main floor on booking didn’t get on arrival. They gave 1 small bag of chips and 1 bottle of water for two people. Comforter on bed was so heavy made it uncomfortable. Breakfast was not included they offered coffee and a cookie at checkout.

The hotel was clean and welcoming. It’s apparent that the management prioritizes keeping the facility in good condition and clean.

The fitness room was not operational.

Exceptionally clean bright and modern, the staff at the desk were very polite and helpful when I needed assistance arranging a taxi for the airport.

No access to a microwave or hot water when you book a standard room. There should be access to those basic amenities in common area.

Man at the front desk was very friendly. Good location and easy to get to. A room that fits our family of 5 is rare, and this room was huge! We could have fit two more people easily and comfortably.

The gentleman at the front desk was so kind and instantly accommodating when we needed a washroom before we checked in after a very long drive in. We were given two fresh bottles of water and two bags of chips upon arrival. I thought that was a very nice gesture. Polite, friendly and very welcoming. The room was exactly as advertised and expected. Close to a lot of amenities. Most walkable.

Don't think I had breakfast, lobby was pretty plain. But for what it cost and met expectations.

The front desk employees were not helpful. When I arrived and found out the hotel is claiming the accomodation has breakfast on Booking site, I wanted to cancel the accomodation. I’ve been told that is not possible and was told they already removed breakfast from booking website. And that it was Booking fault not theirs, when I showed them they still advertise breakfast as part fo the rate. I felt that they do not bother at all and the next morning the new employee did not even know about the issue and my complain. This was terrible customer experience, would never stay in the hotel again.

The bed was soooo comfortable and the hotel is relatively new.

The I love you drawback is that there is no coffee in the rooms. But they do have complimentary coffee in the lobby.

The front desk gave another guest the key to our room and our room number and that guest entered our room without knowing it was already occupied. The property did not really do anything to rectify the situation, although the front desk did apologize. It really violated our trust and sense of safety at this location.

Location was very good and close to everything in Kamloops most especially the Casino and Costco. The bed was very soft and comfortable but the pillows were just a bit too firm.

The only problem that came up was with the stopper in the handbasin. The mechanism to operate it was disconnected below the sink. We reported it to the desk but it went unfixed during our short two night stay, and was really not too hard to overcome with a bit of inventiveness.

The Hue was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The front desk associate was friendly and professional.

The "queen bed" was definitely not a queen size. I'm pretty sure it was a double. The gym was serving as a storage area. Other than the nonfunctioning gym, there were really no extras, no hot tub, no pool, no breakfast, etc. I don't mind a no-frills experience but it was not a no-frills price. The city was short on hotel rooms so we paid a premium. I understand the way it goes. I just was not happy about it.

On the positive side, we enjoyed a big room with a big view, clean, quiet. Chipped foam pillows, meh. Thin towels (okay, I can go with Turkish towel style). One bedside lamp for the comfortable-enough king bed; sounds like an improvement over other reviews. There was coffee available at the front desk in the morning. Amenities were limited to an iron and ironing board and two hangers, plus random-ish individually packaged toiletries, and the TV which we did not use. The two of us were offered one bottle of water and one package of Doritos on check in (okay, the formula is one room, one bag of chips). Parking was fine. So far so good. However, there was a big, watch-out negative. Our phones connected to the wifi with just a little delay. But we got warning messages when trying to connect our laptops. When I notified the front desk, the friendly young man popped right up to our room to help. After a little poking around on my laptop he said that I was preventing their system from accessing my device because I had unnecessary security features enabled, which he said was very appropriate for public wi-fi but not for this hotel. I turned off a firewall to see if that worked, but got the same warning, so I turned it back on. He assured me that they had people monitoring guests' internet use to prevent "bad movies" and such, and this team would prevent anything malevolent from occurring while I was online with their system with my usual security features turned off. Um, no. During several weeks of travel all around BC we have had internet security warnings at no other hotel, including the subsequent one from which I am writing this review.

Lack of amenities….had to go down for kettle, no hair dryer in room, no in room coffee, no extra towels, fridge and all other electrical items unplugged on arrival, a single reading lamp on one of the bedside tables that didn’t work, no breakfast options at the hotel. Would be possible to overlook a few of the limitations, but we paid over $600 for a 2 night stay.

The location, easy check in, clean. Very close to everything needed. Felt safe and comfortable.

The is average, but still quiet high. $300 / night without any amenities is a steep. There said there was a den / gym but no access. Great idea if actually accessible.

Rooms were beautiful with city view. Amazing comfy beds and great experience.

Good location with tons of shops and places to eat nearby, clean, good amount of parking, very comfortable bed and the fridge in the room was a bonus. We booked a standard king room and it was HUGE. Aside from that it is fairly basic but great for a short trip.

The TV wasn't smart tv and my kids only like to watch youtube and that wasn't working on tv. Cable was there but kids dont watch those channels. Other than that everything was good.

no coffee in rooms, no breakfast restaurant, very basic with no real amenities, but the price was fair. The check in clerk had the personality of a potato, stood alone at the front desk for 5 minutes before he even looked up from the computer! then just said i need id and credit card...didn't even say hello. 10 minutes later, he gives me the room key and goes back to his computer like I was an inconvenience lol...Morning guy was good and cheerful and more like I'm used to.

It was cozy, and I would stay here again. Its fairly close to downtown and if you like to walk it is a nice walk to downtown. You have a lot of choices to eat.

It was good value for the advertised price. However, I was charged an extra $150 for incidentals. It was supposed to be credited To my card at check out. It’s been over a week and I haven’t had this done. I have contacted the hotel several times without any response

We were by the staircase so we heard the door slam whenever someone used it.

Very nice, new hotel. Everything was in good working order, unlike other hotels I stayed in.

I like that they had walk in showers as I could not use a tub the walk in shower was fabulous. Thank you for looking after us . We will be back soon.

I just had a one night stay, but I will be back forsure! The rooms were super clean and new, great place to stop in too! Only thing, ladies if you need a hair drier, they don’t have in the room, but that’s a minor detail!

There was no breakfast included even though the room rate wasn't cheap. The door didn’t close on its own when we left the room so was a bit risky.

We were pleasantly surprised at this property. Clean, newer, stylish and convenient location. Casino is adjacent to the hotel with 2 upscale restaurants. There is also a McDonalds, DQ, etc within walking distance.

Love the convenient location, the room and decor in it. Didn’t love no coffee in room… had to go to lobby for it. Some weeding and cleaning of broken glass in parking areas would be huge jmptovement
