L'emplacement, magnifique architecture, décor
Auberge Knowlton is conveniently located. We were greeted by friendly staff who made us feel welcome. The inn is beautiful with original wood plank floors. We were on the third floor. We loved the high ceiling of our room which made it feel very open. Again, wood floors throughout. Two comfortable beds in an appropriate sized room for 2 people. We felt like we had lots of room. An antique wardrobe provided lots of space for hanging clothes and we loved that the door was older with an actual key! We were offered free coffee at a station in the hallway and also use of a well appointed communal room on the second floor. The beds were very comfortable.
Nothing. We liked everything.
Location in middle of Knowlton.
Stairs to carry luggage up.
No breakfast included.

The location is perfect- central in Knowlton-walking distance to most shops. Room was cozy and well decorated
No complaints
Location is excellent. Property has a rustic charm but was still comfortable. Nice veranda to enjoy outdoors.
The facilities are aging. There was no hot water in the morning and the shower head was not working. Not worth it for the price
The bed was uncomfortable and nothing was working well in the bathroom
The Auberge was in the best spot possible in Knowlton.
We never met a staff member, disappointing. We could not find a place to have breakfast nearby.
Location was perfect for us.
Stairs, but understand a hotel of that vintage did not have elevator. Twice staff helped me with our suitcases.
Walking distance to places we wanted to visit.
Historical. Good location. Pleasant staff.
tres bien situé. Belle organisation. Belle terrasse
Location. We wanted to stay right in Knowlton. The property is on the Main Street and on a busy corner.
It’s a very old property. Some charm, but mostly old. The bistro was very good.
A nice historic inn albeit this 'premium' room was small with a small window overlooking a roof. A/C worked well and room was clean.
This 'premium suite' was small with a small window overlooking a roof. Only a queen-sized bed.
I loved the convenience of the EV charging. A very pleasant surprise. I also loved the common room. A great place to socialize.
The outdoor porch is wonderful but the truck noise is non stop. Is is possible to have somewhere to sit outside that isnt exposed to the constant truck noise?
Second time I’ve stayed in this historic inn. Staff is great, rooms are comfortable and the decor is charming.
Nothing to dislike!
Gentillesse du personnel
Rien, c’était parfait
L'emplacement.
Emplacement
Climatisation un peu bruyante
Even though the road was super busy and noisy we couldn't hear a thing in the room. Beds were comfortable and the location was great
Loved the location and the room
Great location, good bed
Comfortable room, well-located, perfect as a base from which to go skiing. Delicious bistro downstairs.
Our room had a sewagey smell, the bathroom sink and tub were clogged with hair.
Location excellent. The town is somewhat void of morning eating establishments. Food at Aubere de Relais - excellent.
Not much.
Very friendly staff
We arrived late and left early, so didn't spend much time at the hotel. The hotel itself is pretty cool if you like old buildings. The room was clean and had the basics. Never saw staff, but they were helpful and clear in communicating in advance of our stay. It was a good value and we would consider staying there again.
Shower in room 12 was a bit of an adventure, but no big deal. Room was smallish but again, it worked for our needs just fine.
Location was perfect. Staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Very dog-friendly as well. Restaurant downstairs was excellent.
Loved the location!
L’emplacement parfaite
Le lit vraiment du à être changer.
No breakfast, or on Relais next door but tea/coffee, milk sugar hot water and 2 fridges in common room. Very handy location made up for odd facilities .

A light breakfast made available would have been appreciated.. but not a show stopper
There was no breakfast
Water was just worm in the morning and no hot water in the evening and one day it was completely cold food in restaurant was dreadful on Mondays Tuesday and Wednesday. Bed was not changed in the 10 days we were there . If we wonted clean Tails we were told to leave dirty ones in Bath which we did no clean Tails and dirty ones were still in bath when we got back from being out all day.no one ever on reception . And no phone number to contact anyone
there was no breakfast at the Knowlton Auberge
the beds were a bit smaill
Charming inn in the heart of Knowlton, aka Three Pines of the Louise Penny series of detective novels, dating to 1849 but fully modern. Restaurant serves delicious meals. Stairs leading to rooms from street level. Did not see elevator so check re accessibility.
All good.
The room and bathroom were really clean and very nice. They gave us a 10% discount to use at the restaurant downstairs. All of the staff we spoke with were friendly and nice.
The only issue we found was that the bed and the couch in our room were very stiff and so it made for a sleepless night.
Location and ease of access. Relatively cheap stay.
No staff around really. Granted it was during Christmas but there was noone around except other guests. Nobody by the front desk no matter how early or late. No housekeeping at all during the stay. Also no elavators so had to lug luggage up 3 flights of stairs. For the price it provided the basics of a room with 2 beds and a bath. But anything beyond that is non existant.
We stayed at the Auberge Knowlton in early November and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint hotel. We arrived after 5 pm and made our way upstairs (the hotel is above the Le Relais restaurant and a boutique) to find a welcome letter together with our room key. As we entered our Junior Suite, there was a charming living room with sofa, TV, small fridge and wardrobe. The washroom had everything we needed and the bedroom was down a small hallway. The queen size bed was very comfortable. Coffee is readily available in a central area. We had no issues walking the 20 feet to the lovely dining/games/sitting room to make a coffee or two. The hotel is centrally located with loads of choices for cafes, book stores, restaurants. If you’re a fan of Louise Penny’s books, Café Three Pines and Brome Lake Books is right around the corner. But, don’t just go there, this is a lovely community worthy of a stroll or two. Parking is free and there are two level 2 chargers. We'd stay there again.
The hotel is so old, historic and unique. The decor is lovely. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom had everything we needed.
The restaurant in the auberge doesn't open for breakfast. We walked around the corner to 3 Pines Cafe for superb coffee and fresh croissants. The hotel is on the second floor with no elevator and the steps are quite steep. There is no concierge service so be aware when packing. It is on the crossroads with traffic 24 hours. It was noisy at certain times of the day.
Small room. Uncomfortable bed. Steep stairs. Self check-in. No breakfast available on site. Le Relais is only open for lunch and dinner. On the whole, it was hard to get breakfast before 0900 unless one drove to Tim Horton's. Convenient location for Louise Penny fans.
The location was excellent, center of town. Quaint historic property. Free parking.
2nd floor reception with no elevator made it difficult for one of our guests with mobility issues.
L accueil et l ambiance chaleureuse et authentique
La douche usagée
Historic, location, staff
Stuff was rather old
Rien
Location was excellent Room was very clean
Room was very small. No host was available for most of the time. Only a set of steep stairs to access the room. No one was available to give advice about surrounding restaurants etc
Excellent location. Beautiful little town. Just right if you want to relax in stunning surroundings.
Vieux charme, excellente location, bon rapport qualité-prix
Wonderful location and wonderful room.
We loved the historical aspect of the building. Our room was small but extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff was super friendly. The restaurant in the building was wonderful. Great place to stay in Knowlton!
Only thing we didn’t like was stairs (no elevator).
Location. Small discount on meals at Le Relais, although it was not 10% as the voucher stated.
Saggy mattress. Thin pillows. Steep stairs. Self check-in. No maid service. No soap dispenser in shower/tub.
Central location. Coffee station was good
No staff for any issues. Unable to find controls to regulate heating in the room. No soap in the shower
Quaint
The location in the center of town was perfect! So easy to walk to the bookstore/cafe and other local shops. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Antique furnishings added to the charm. And it is attached to the Relais Cafe for great meals.
The Auberge is an older building so people should not expect updated, modern facilities. We were fine with the antique furnishings. It would have been nice to have a microwave, but there was one in a common room down the hall. People need to be aware there is a long flight of stairs to the actual hotel and no elevator.
This historic auberge is in the center of the town of Knowlton. It is close to cafes and shops. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a long porch across the front and a common room for coffee or games. We had a wonderful time.
Difficult to find outlets for charging near me in bed. No elevator so difficult on the stairs with bad knees.
The balcony! We had a lovely dinner out there, in the wonderful sunshine. Gorgeous flowering baskets. We also enjoyed the bright breakfast room, that was a bonus.
We didn't appreciate the stairs - it is hard hauling everything up, at my age! Thankfully, there was someone at the desk in the morning to help us get it all down. I didn't see anything identified as an accessible parking spot. In the room, there was a little drop of a few inches from the bedroom to the bathroom - it should have been better marked. I missed it once and almost fell. My friend missed it several times. Especially in the night-time. Dangerous.
Would have liked some decaf options in the morning. Only shampoo and conditioner in shower-no soap. Bed and pillows comfortable.
Room was great except on the third floor - two sets of steps. Also shower water luke warm not hot and faucet difficult to move
We really enjoyed staying here and dining at Le Relais just downstairs. The stairs were not as steep as mentioned on Trip Advisor by other guests. Our keys were waiting at reception for us. The rooms are nice and reminded us of our stays in Europe.
Quaint, older auberge. Our room was lovely and clean. It was, however, very noisy on the outside as it was at a busy intersection. Not only loud pick ups and school buses, but also construction vehicles working several blocks away. There is a really special cafe and bookstore a few buildings away. Three Pines-ish (see Louise Penny) cafe and if you ask, the barista will add a cinnamon or cocoa three pines. Almost too beautiful to drink.
Run down and very uncomfortable mattress. Loud traffic noise.
Wonderful stay! Hotel was great and very conveniently located. Staff at the restaurant was extremely busy, but very nice! Had a great stay in Knowlton!
The ambiance, old furniture decor.
No fridge like in Room 2. Not made aware of the common room upon check-in. No glasses in room; had to get them from the server in restaurant.
area was perfect to visiting around the village. Room was very clean . I am on the 3th floor, no escalator. street very noise during the day! Balcony on a second floor with many seat and hammock are perfect in the evening!
This was a great place to spend the night while travelling from Nova Scotia to Ontario. I loved it!
Inconvenient, goin up the stairs with luggage
Love this hotel-second time staying. Charming and beautiful - there was hair in the tub-huge turn off and the "twin" bed was horrendous to sleep on. Extremely uncomfortable. Service is extremely friendly as always!
