Alvin was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, quiet and functional. Suiting our needs for a one night stop over. Would book again
Very kind and helpful service from Alwin at the front desk! He sorted out our booking immediately upon arrival and was very fast with checking us in! Our room was very clean and it had all the amenities including kettle and selection of teas and coffee, tv and hairdryer! Definitely good value for money for our 1 night stop over.
Friendly, helpful staff. Basic but clean room. Good value for the price. Comfortable bed, extra pillows in room if needed. Various fast food options a short walk away. £5 parking charge if you don’t book direct - I thought I had booked direct so watch this. 4/5 as the bathroom needs some TLC but perfectly fine for 1 night stopover. I would stay again as excellent value.
Excellent value. Option for early in and English breakfast option. Great location in nature doesn't give a feel of being on a service station.large size rooms, clean and tidy.
Nice stay very surprised about all
Clean room, comfortable bed, all required facilities (including microwave and toaster available from reception) and a very friendly helpful gentleman (Alwin) on reception.
After my car broke down at Membury Services, I was left waiting from 1pm for the RAC to recover me. By 11pm, with no sign of assistance and little hope of being collected that night, I decided to check in to Days Inn so I could get some rest. I was helped by one receptionist when I arrived late that evening and another the following morning, both of whom were exceptionally kind and understanding. After an incredibly stressful day, their warmth and compassion genuinely restored my faith in humanity - thank you! The hotel is a little tired in places, but it was clean and comfortable. Free parking is included with your stay. It represented good value and was exactly what I needed in a last minute emergency. Note to anyone reading this: NEVER USE RAC FOR BREAKDOWN COVER. It's now 48 hours on and my vehicle is still stranded at Membury Services.
Good location and super friendly and helpful staff. Toilet re-filling all night which was noisy.
This hotel is well run & very clean & comfortable. Feels very safe for a lady travelling alone to visit family. Alwin on reception always polite & very helpful as are all the staff. I always enjoy my stay here. Your staff are your greatest asset, treat them like the gold they are.
Amazing hotel Very clean and comfortable Very friendly and helpful staff Most comfortable beds Nice and quite. Use of microwave and toaster
Very nice place to stay all lot is scholar for food The staff was welcoming and professional The room was clean and had everything you need
Bathroom clearly not been cleaned. Reception smelled like a cess pit. £47 to stay here not worth more than £30 for the cleanliness of the place
Peaceful and quiet stay. Friendly staff. Place has restaurant in the service area. Most restaurant and store close by 10pm.
NIce clean room, and ideal location. Food is limited and mainly fast food. Needs a decent restaurant. Quiet bearing in mind its a Motorway service station. Reasonable facilities though.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Room 121 my fav I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality service, and a great overall experience.
In the dark it's difficult to find, I got out of my car and went and had a look around, the couple checking in behind me said the same thing. Apparently the signage isn't worth repairing/illuminating. I was late booking and got hopefully the worst room in the place, behind reception room 18? Sad doesn't begin to describe the neglect, it's not that housekeeping aren't doing their job, it's years of neglect. Rust around taps, hot water takes a while to come thru, the bath anti slip looked so disgusting I covered it with the hand towel before using shower. The loo seat was yellow from years of staining, a massive pube on the edge of the bath, yuk. On one of the mugs there was a sticker 'For rectal use only', one of the other guests sense of humour I guess. I removed it. Duvet cover had a couple of blood spots, I checked under the sheet for signs of bedbugs, it was that bad in the room. The bed was uncomfortable, however, the creaking floorboards above and a whistling .... in the corridor late at night, the outside noise were more irritating than the uncomfortable bed. The whole experience puts me off Days Inn after a previously good experience. The TV didn't have hygienic style controls that every other budget hotel seems to have, in the circumstances that was probably the least troubling part of the room. Obviously I wiped every touch surface around.
The stay was everything I needed it to be. Somewhere to put my head down with the facilities I needed. As I checked in of an evening and actually extended my stay, I met a young and very conscientious woman called Steffi. She wore a smile which was contagious and greeted me in a friendly manner. I needed a few bits and bobs in my room replacing/topping up during the time I was there and she was only too happy to help. I would go as far as booking this same hotel again having received such great service. For me it is things like this that resonate and leave a lasting imprint. So Steffi, keep up the good work, keep doing what your doing and you take a pleasant stay to a brilliant stay!
My wife and I found ourselves unexpectedly staying at the Days Inn Membury after an accident on the M4. Receptionist and front desk Alwin de Melo was understanding of our situation and incredibly helpful throughout, advising us of places to eat etc. He made a difficult situation much easier with his advice, empathy and professionalism. A lovely man who went above and beyond his job description and we truly grateful. Adrian rondel
I want to commend Alwiy for his excellent customer service during my business trip last week. I had a booking issue that Alwiy sorted for me, and his friendliness and can-do attitude was a pleasure to deal with. He provided a warm welcome and I will now stay in Membury services over Chievely when working in the area as his service was a difference-maker.
Nice big family room with new beds. Great value for money. Especially Alwin was very friendly and helpful, directing me to some vegan options for breakfast and helping with the heating in the evening :)
All very nice and pleasant The rooms was clean and had everything you need plus extras available on the reception desk The staff was welcoming and professional
Hi my mum was very very good The rumor spotlessly clean The shower was baking hot The downside is you had to pay £5 parking But that's not much downside The reception staff of friendly And is in a good location I could not give this hotel a 10 star review
Stayed to put my head down for a night before heading overseas on a trip. Really comfortable bed and the team were friendly.
It was difficult to find the hotel in the dark within the service station. Receptionist was good but everything else was very poor. Rooms lacked comfort. Our room was cold and heater did not work. Breakfast voucher was for adjacent services and only redeemable for a cooked breakfast. They would not swap for a far cheaper toasted tea cake so we had to buy that on top of the £10 already paid. Car park £5 fee was not included in the hotel price (obviously guests staying in a motorway service station would need transport to get there? ) and the rooms were far more expensive than our previous night's stay over 200 miles away. Other guests inconsiderately were drinking in the lobby till 3am then continued the party in rooms above us meaning we had very little sleep. Receptionist apologised but it clearly was not her fault.
Very convenient for a break of journey after time in London . It’s about an hour from Heathrow. You might wonder why the rooms have wide doors- the answer is that this is apparently a former military hospital which has been repurposed. Worth remembering that if you book on the Wyndham website car parking is free but MUST register at reception. This property could use a refresh of things like the beds. Caution advised with their use of dynamic pricing- there are regular functions locally that drive up the room rate. Any shortcomings were amply compensated for by Alwin in reception. I hope the management realise what an asset he is to their business.
The room was very clean, check in was quick. enjoyable stay would stay again. Location was brilliant just what i needed would recommend
Nice place to stay overnight and rest at the Welcome Break in Membury services on the M4. Both staff at the reception - Alvin and Steffi - were very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Steffi kindly showed us a few of the empty rooms before we could made up our mind whether to stay or not. The place is very decent, clean and quiet to stay. Alvin gave us a discount on the advertised price and we stayed comfortably for one night. Thank you.
Days Inn at Membury was an ideal stay for business trip. The reception upon arrival was really great; Sheffield and Alvin made me feel welcome, and very kind. My room was decent enough though tired decorations but neat and well layed out. The only complaint was that there was no body wash in the bathroom. Would I repeat my stay for same purpose? It’s a yes.
Just wanted to say how well the place is run and especially the help from Alwin & Steffi who was on her first day..!! Easy to park..!! Room was clean and tidy.
All excelkent
I would like to share great experience with Day Inn Membury M4. Very convenient for us to go work early morning and not far away from Eboladrome for supercar driving experience(our job). Even though we have to pay parking £10 for 2 nights but still cheaper than others competitors for 3 of us. Simple room and slightly warm in ours during our stay but member staff of Alwin & Steffi providing good services. Highly recommended and we will be back next year !
Our band, B.A.D. Has been on tour in the UK and beyond since the 3rd of September. We’ve encountered nothing but incredibly welcoming fans and gracious people in general. Maria, the manager of this establishment was certainly no exception. She got my guitar player/best friend Ron and I in immediately, even though we had arrived well before check in. i’ve had several meaningful conversations with her from everything about Naples, Italy, where she’s from to Travel, food, and everything else in between. What a pleasure it has been meeting her. Exceptional service and kindness. She even helped with with my Italian I’ve been learning!
Amazing stay, clean fresh bedding and the room was clean and fresh. Will recommend and use again
Amazing stay check in easy, bed and room smelt fresh. Room clean and tidy. Did not hear no motor way traffic. Will use again
I traveled with my family to the Cotswolds. When we arrived at the hotel, I had made a mistake with the booking. Alwin was at the front desk. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and assisted us at every turn. It's very rare to find someone as kind as Alwin. The room was very comfortable for the 3 of us. We highly recommend it. Thank you so much, Alwin.
A pleasant, quiet and clean room with everything we needed. Breakfast if needed in adjacent services. Alwin at reception is a credit to the hotel who goes above and beyond to give guests help and guidance. We certainly had a happy experience and heartily recommend this for a basic overnight stay. Thank you.
Excellent Stay
Very comfortable stay for my partner and I over a few weeks, great customer service. Shout out to Alwin at the front desk, very accommodating chap!
We had a lovely stay recently. Great parking facilities next to services. The bed and pillows were lovely the breakfast was stunning. Alwin the receptionist was helpful. I would recommend the hotel to my colleagues and friends.
Alwin went above and beyond to ensure I had an easy walk in booking experience. Thank you so much Alwin, I had been travelling all day and was exhausted so I was very grateful for his helpfulness and high level of professionalism.
We booked a one night stay to break our late night journey from Heathrow to our home in South west Wales. Great price was the attraction as well as location,Owing to delay in leaving Heathrow I was concerned about a late arrival. We rang the hotel and they said there was no problem as they wait until 3am to register a no-show. My sat nav got totally confused and directed us to the service area on the east bound side of the M4. We were instructed that there was an unofficial route to cross the motor way but we got confused and again spoke to the the hotel , the member of staff on duty , Manuel , was so helpful and he stayed on the phone and talked us through the rote and we managed to find the hotel. Prior check-in online made our arrival painless . Our room, 116, was clean with the normal range of free extras however the room was a bit tired, the curtains need rehanging and one of the light shades on the bed lights had a damaged shade and a large crack in the hand basin in the bathroom. The whole hotel could do with a make-over as it's definitely showing it's age, I must mention Manuel again as he showed exceptional customer service skills and deserves some recognition from his employer.
Fantastuc trip to the days inn at membury we always stay there as the hotel staff are amazing. Alwin and Elise are just wonderful there was nothing that wasnt too much trouble for them. We asked a iron board and iron instead of waiting Alwin came up to our room and handed it to us. Thank you for all the help during our stay. We will be coming back soon.
Would recommend booking direct to avoid additional car park charges. Basic but clean and good value for 1 ngt stay. Reception staff very friendly and helpful
Wonderful staff, especially Maria Very pleased with the whole experience and what an amazing price. Beds were so comfortable. Rooms very clean. I paid very less compared to other place. This is family friendly and pet friendly place there is a small change for pets I would definitely return and recommend to friends and family
I returned to this lovely hotel after a wonderful experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful, creating an almost family like atmosphere. I will definitely return and would recommend it to my friends and family
We stayed a week for work The rooms are very comfortable and customers service was excellent. We were initially allocated an upstairs room. But the man at reception (Alwin) quick reallocated us ground floor as i have mobility issues. Definitely a kind and helpful man and is a gem to the team
Receptionist (Alwin) very friendly and helpful, esp re parking situation and my dissatisfaction at being asked to pay, so would not use hotels.com again for causing this misunderstanding. Room as expected, basic but clean and perfectly fine for our 1 ngt stay
From the outside it looks shabby and unwelcoming. Room was dirty and very worn, walls marked and scuffed, furniture unclean. Towels in bathroom were not fresh and obviously previously used. Luckily there were spares folded on the shelf. One pillow case was dirty with a footprint on it! Instant coffee and tea, but no milk or creamer. Being charged £5 to park at a motorway service station motel is utterly ridiculous. Booking.com charged £10 for breakfast but at the reception it's advertised as £8.95. But, it's the worst full English breakfast I've ever had, served by the fast food outlet inside the service station. The only thing good was the friendly staff on reception, a small mercy. I will definitely never return to this place, it's absolutely not value for money, almost abhorrent.
We stopped by in this hotel and it is not the first time…. The staff is lovely and the rooms have all you need. It is very quiet place even if it is on the motorway
Don’t buy the breakfast, my mushrooms tasted of bleach!
Staff were great and very helpful and friendly highly recommend
DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION. I have never stayed in such a filthy hotel room in my life. There was dirt, scuff and repaint marks on the walls, thick dust collected along the floor edge, paint on the curtains, TV unit and mirror, broken and unusable plug sockets (of which there was only one available in the entire room), stain marks on the floor and chair, broken and rotten shirting board and door frame around the bathroom, stained and filthy toilet fixtures, thick, chunky clumps of dust in the extractor fan and grime everywhere in general. This room was disgusting. The only nice element was leaving. I highly advise you find somewhere else to stay.

This room was disgusting. The only nice element was leaving. I have complained directly to the hotel (as nobody was around on check-out), and am awaiting a reply and resolution. I will update my review, if I can, on how my complaint was handled. For the time being, I highly advise you find somewhere else to stay. I was only there for one night, but massively regret it and wished I had paid more and stayed somewhere else. I am aware that Days Inn is more toward the budget end of the hotel scale, but what I experienced was unacceptable and I do not believe (at least my room) is fit for guests to stay in. Note - this review relates only to the Days Inn hotel itself (and specifically room 3). The Welcome Break amenities are completely separate and were perfectly fine.
A really warm welcome from friendly staff. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. We had everything we needed such as tea coffee, kettle, t.v and towels. We had breakfast at The Good Breakfast at the services was amazing. Highly recommended. A particular thank you to Alwin, Manuel and the manager Maria
We travelled for work and had a good stay at days inn membury. The room was spacious and well cleaned. We had a lovely sleep over the night we would definitely recommend the place to friends and family The receptionist Alwin is a helpful men and has lots knowledge of the job. Helped us to book direct with hotel and offered free parking, and told us to book direct always.
Wonderful staff, especially Alwin, who went extra mile to meet my particular needs. The reception and housekeeping team us very friendly. About the room, the beds arw comfortable and large. And been cleaned daily based. The place is economic priced but some nights can be expensive but not a rip off. There is a microwave and toaster in the reception free to use. I would be definitely staying here again for my work and would recommend for other colleagues and friends
Amazing stay. Check in was quick. Always welcome with a smile. The room was clean and fresh will use again and will recommend
Amazing stay, easy check in. Room was clean and fresh. Will recommend. Easy to find. No motorway noise
Bed was comfortable, WiFi was good a quick. Check in was easy. Room was fresh and clean will recommend
The hotel is in a fantastic location to where I needed to be. Room is clean, bedding is clean. Service is always amazing. The room that I had had a sofa in it very comfortable. Check in fast and easy. Staff are amazing

Amazing stay like always, easy check in quick nice and friendly. Room was clean and fresh, bedding was clean and fresh. Bathroom very clean. No motorway noise. Very easy to find. Will recommend and will stay again
We travelled for an event and had a good short stay at days inn membury. The staff is so friendly. The rooms was spacious and clean. Economically priced and you get what you pay for. Non interrupted sleep, very quite and peace. Comfortable beds and shower was powerful. The receptionist Alwin was really wonderful. Has the best knowledge about the job and surrounding areas. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family
The staff member that I know of are absolutely brilliant! They have made me and my family welcome like Alwin very polite, formal always willing to help with needs without complaints a very nice man to help out,Rachael always making sure that we had everything we needed polite, friendly always smiling very professional I can't say nothing about her, Maria a great manager!! Couldn't ask for a better manager also polite and happy, Manuel always happy never complains again always willing to help with no negativity and emilano brilliant housekeeper!! Very polite and makes sure everything is what we want or need I really praise this place with the staff mentioned highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to stay!! Brilliant service!!
Was a very enjoyable stay and great service by the Receptionist Alwin Helped out with any information we needed with directions and times aswell as parking
The friendly helpful man on reception was this hotels saving grace. There was no internet or loo roll and the cleanliness of the place left a lot to be desired!
Hotel is in a fantastic location, very quiet you don’t hear no traffic, bedding was clean and fresh, room smelt fresh and was very clean. The lady night porter very rude. The lady checking us out was lovely and amazing. Will definitely use again. The hotel does need updating but it does the job.
Amazing stay, hotel in brilliant location, clean and fresh bedding and the room was clean and fresh, the weather was very hot but the room was cool and the windows were left open and fan was on. Checking in was quick, easy brilliant. Rooms do need updating but for what I needed it for was brilliant. Will definitely recommend. Bathroom was clean and tidy.
The staff were fabulous. Greeting us in arrival and when i requestsd a 2nd pillow despite advising this may be different as they were fully booked. The receptionist managed to get 2 extra pillow's. Was also very helpful advising us how to get out by car when we were going out for dinner. The rooms themselves were very tired and need an update the bathroom especially. There is no free wifi, qe originally onlt had 1 pillow each. The corridor smelt very strongly of cannabis. We mentioned this to the receptionist..We paid over the odds for the night in our opinion and for the things mentioned we would expect more.
We stayed one night at the Days Inn hotel, and I’m very glad it was only for one night. While the staff were friendly and helpful, the rest of the experience was quite poor. The entire hotel, including the rooms and shared areas, felt very outdated and had an unpleasant smell throughout. The so-called "full great breakfast" was a complete letdown – the selection was underwhelming, and the cleanliness of the cutlery was truly shocking. It made us question the overall hygiene standards. There is no dedicated hotel parking either. Instead, you have to use the general Welcome Break car park, which you must pay for separately – quite inconvenient for hotel guests. To add to the disappointment, WiFi isn’t free, which feels out of touch with basic modern expectations. For the price we paid, the experience offered very little in terms of comfort or satisfaction. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return and cannot recommend this hotel.
Alwin checked us in quick (and sold me beers) and was great. Lovely stay and enjoyed it for an inexpensive night while traveling.
There is no elevator and no air conditioning
The property as usual was lovely, the room was fresh and clean. Bedding was fresh. The room had been aired and smelt lovey. The bathroom was clean and tidy and my room had a fridge in it. Check was quick and simple.
Check in was easy and fast, have to pay for parking. The room is clean fresh. Comfortable bed. Fresh linen. The rooms is dated and does need updating but for the price it’s brilliant. Snacks and drinks are served at reception. No motorway noise
Cheap and good. Mind you, not that easy to find in the dark. Manuel, who checked me in very late, was about as friendly and efficient as you can possibly imagine.
Check-in was seamless, with the receptionist greeting me with a warm welcome. The room was immaculate and smelled freshly laundered. Does require a general facelift but beds were comfy and had a pleasant stay.
Like always smooth check in, room was clean and fresh. There was a fridge in our room and it was very clean. The rooms do need updating but for what we paid it was all good. Good location
Tucked away at Membury services. Great for travelling with dogs. I got lost down the back lanes and phoned. Alwin directed me back on track and stayed on the line until I entered the car park and had everything ready for speedy check in. Very professional and helpful.
I know it’s a budget hotel, but just had to say a few things about this place, Room was filthy pull down sofa bed full of weird stains, also the chair was absolutely filthy again with weird stains, approached the staff at the reception just shrugged his shoulders not bothered, also people with big dogs eating takeaway food sitting down at reception area with staff, also under my window drunken yobs drinking and shouting until 3 o’clock in morning, would rather sleep in my car!
Basic motel but did the job for a stopover. Bed was comfortable. Staff polite. We were in room 3 and when using the double socket, the right socket crackled so we didnt use this one. The lest side was ok.
Very helpful. I arrived late and left very early and he Staff at reception were super kind and helpful. I appreciated the time and effort they gave my requests.
Room was fresh clean and tidy. Check in was easy convenient to where I need to be. Lovely staff always friendly. Would recommend
Hotel was clean check in was quick and friendly, rooms clean fresh and very tidy we had a fridge in our room which was good as we were there for a few days would use again
V quiet place
Terrible from having to pay to park the car tv didn’t work staff not nice apart from one staff member
Like always smooth check in, room was clean and fresh. There was a fridge in our room and it was very clean. The rooms do need updating but for what we paid it was all good. Good location
Not being informed about parking charges before arriving.new stealth tax not charged by Travelodge or ibis at motorway services.i will not be using these hotels in future if they expect me to pay for the car to sleep
Booking with expedia was a mistake. The room cost is more and i was not even booked in. Had to wait outside with my 3 young kids till i got it sorted on the phone (after 45 mins)
Lovely stay rooms clean and fresh. Bedding was clean. Check was easy and quick. No problems. The hotel does need updating but for the price it’s all good
