Great traveling advice from Anna during breakfast in the mornings. She was so nice and helpful. Great customer service definitely recommend.
Good Breakfast, evening meal not so good, had to send it back as it was not hot. Alternative meal provided which was good. Nikki at front desk was super, nice welcome and information given.
Really good stay.
No hot water couldnt get shower to go out complained twice. Got hot water hours later then No shower gel by this point we had gave up. Asked for some ice told no at bar . Went to reception got shannon who got me bucket with ice and apologised. tbh Shannon only one in hotel with any customer service skills very efficient well mannered girl. Usually use premier inn honestly wasnt worth the money
We’ve stayed here on many occasions but this time was very disappointing. Wi-Fi was hopeless and the receptionist said I could use
Tired hotel useful for shopping centre and restaurants
Clean and good food
Just a short walk from the local shopping centres. Free parking at hotel Room tired looking with threadbare carpets. Only one bedside table. On the plus the bed was comfortable, bath & shower were fine and we had a delicious help yourself breakfast.
Do not risk staying here: our first room was tiny, dark, noisy, and only fit for a budget listing. It was linked to another guest’s room with paper-thin walls, so we could hear everything. After complaining, we were moved to a proper room—raising the question why we weren’t given it from the start. Staff refused a later checkout despite our disrupted stay. Décor was dated, facilities advertised (spa/pool) no longer exist, and the whole place felt more like a motel or hostel than a Mercure.
Standard but nothing special chain hotel Breakfast pretty average - as usual in chain hotels you get rubber fried eggs and dried bacon
The hotel needs money spent on it as it is very tired.
It is ok to stay there, no fireworks. Really nice and helpful staff
Very friendly great breakfast !
A usual venue when visiting family. Carpet was in poor condition.
Fantastic service especially from Rebecca at reception. We travelled very far and she was able to get our rooms ready for us so that we could enjoy Edinburgh! Excellent service and was very happy with our stay. Many thanks
The mattress on the bed was too firm and uncomfortable. Did not get a good sleep. The food in the restaurant wasn't very good.
Staff members very good made welcome from start , parking good restaurant staff very nice and friendly people
Dreadful property, with everything dated. AVOID
The shopping centre
Staff extremely helpful and friendly, particularly in the restaurant in the evening.
I have stayed here before. Very convenient for either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Easy and secure parking. Friendly reception staff. Large room with bath tub. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Will stay again.
Clean room, comfortable bed, breakfast was good. 10 minute taxi from hotel to station.
Delightful full breakfast and very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable.
Lovely staff easy to find and convenient will be using again thank you
Will definitely use again! 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Just stayed one night but will be back again.
A bit dated but comfortable
This place requires taxis to anywhere assuming they are running and then a train to access other places. The restaurant is overpriced and the coffee terrible. The young lass who made the coffee was rude and took an awfully long time. The desk staff were friendly and welcoming and the shower was good. No fridge or microwave.
The hotel is very very dated. The room while clean enough had an odour like a public swimming pool changing room. The decor is very dated. The bathroom, again clean but not renovated since at least the 90's. Plastic countertops old fashioned huge cistern behind the toilet and a shower over bath with a hose to head! I'd expect to see it in your grannies house! The staff were very nice and friendly and service was good.
Enjoyed breakfast and breakfast staff helpful.
The Mercure is clean but the decor is tired and in need of refurbishment. The reception staff are worth the 5 stars in my review - they are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Truly wonderful staff. Even the cleaners were friendly - so refreshing.
Good value out of Edinburgh hotel
Food average Drinks terrible - was srrved the worst aperol spritz ever. Ratio of liquids wrong, flat soda and flat prosecco. Barman said it was correct first time I complained thrn in the end I just couldn't drink it so went to the bar again and barman had to get the manager. Quite a lot of fuss just to get a crap dtink replaced. Staff were pleasant This place is way overpriced at nearly £140 a night and a wine at £12.50 Not even city centre. Rooms were so dated and pretty scruffy. Curtajns discoloured and woodwork and walls stained and damaged. Walls are wafer thin too. Wouldn't stay again.
Musty smell in the room. Stains on the bed lining, creaking noise when switching on lights. The building should be flattened totally to the ground and rebuilt from zero.
Staff at reception were excellent, the bar staff were friendly and the cleaners were not only polite but also very friendly. They all are a credit to the company. The hotel itself while clean could do with a little revamp but otherwise can’t be faulted.
Would’ve been a decent budget hotel, but the bed bugs are the reason for my review.
Great
Thanks
Friendly and helpful staff. Halls and room smelled musty, worried that our clothes would carry the odour to our meeting the following day.
Ideal location for visiting five sisters zoo and the alpine coaster. Room was dated but was spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed. Check in staff were lovely as were the bar staff. Our room was on the ground floor and we were not disturbed from the car park or other guests. Would definitely visit again
Would not stay again needs updated and the spa area needs 2 b opened up again
Only had 1 lager on tap all other beers were unavailable. Limited menu for food. Outside tables were basic you couldn't eat out thete.only 6 small tables. Outside area not tidy very poor.
Receptionist was fantastic when we were checking in. Hotel was in a good location for everything that needed done, shopping trip and a quick visit to Edinburgh. For a small friendly hotel the restaurant was decent value, the bar wasn't expensive and breakfast was good.
Room booked was unavailable. Wanted to move me to a twin. Curtains in room had holes in. No room keys available so needed reception to let me back into the room. Breakfast staff were friendly
Value for money, easy check in and out. Nice clean spacious rooms. Close to the shopping centre, and perfectly situated near to sightseeing areas.
Amazing
Hotel has certainly seen better days and it didn't seem very wheelchair accessible but the staff was friendly.
Room was dated for the price needs am upgrade.
Staff went above and beyond for us
A good stay. Only 3 nights though but the food as always was super. Good value, good choice. The staff always willing to help.
The hotel is in desperate need of a refurbished, or to be demolished, as it looks more like a dilapidated old folks home with threadbare floral carpets, damaged furniture, antique bathrooms , dust hanging from the roof….the list goes on. The grounds need to be looked at as full of dead plants, filthy slabs, dead leaves and cigarette ends gathered. Reception staff need a customer service course as all came across as if they didn’t want to be there.
Está muy lejos de la estación de tren, no hay buses cercanos ni tampoco taxis. Dejando de lado eso, el hotel es excelente, la atención del personal es muy buena y el desayuno también.
The whole place was dated, and the decor was tired. But they seem to be upgrading the place room, by room..pay a bit extra and get one of the newer rooms. It was quiet and the staff were delightful
Considering the price, the room that I stayed in was OK, however the bathroom en suite wasnt great as the shower did not work, the restaurant was overpriced 6 out of 10
Staff great
The staff were very good and helpful. Yes,the property could do with a upgrade but it was clean.
I enjoyed my stay.
The staff was exceptionally helpful and kind. The hallways, rooms, and bathrooms need some serious work and attention for modernization and safety.
Housekeeping left a lot to be desired
Staff were very friendly, the room was very tired but clean
Clean property but limited transport
The staff and cleanliness of the hotel was great. However, the building is old (1950s) and in need of a remodel. The parking lot needs repaving.
Check in process was very bad! I asked for extra 1hr for check out as I have a Teams meeting to attend but got declined. Very Bad service
The staff really make this place. We stayed 3 nights. The breakfast and dinners were good. Room was quiet and comfortable. Only issue was the stairs, no lift. But overall really good stay.
Great priced hotel for a great location. Close to shopping center and transport links
Just back from a lovely girls weekend away, Lovely hotel, rooms clean and spacious beds very comfortable, all hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and a variety for all. Short walk away from Livingston mall so didn’t need car. Will definitely be back
Little bit run down but ok for what it was
Welcome gift room large and adequate
There's no lift to the first floor. So ensure you are downstairs if you have poor mobility. Room was very clean and comfy but dated. room was spacious.
Loved staying here, so convenient for the shopping outlets. Had a lovely 3 course meal in tge hotel restaurant. Waiter was lovely. Sat at a cosy fire at night. Will return.
Basic, but suitable for kour particular stay.
Old fashioned dated building, food is terrible. Paid £17.50 for a microwaved ‘steak pie’ that had no meat in and was just gravy and pastry.
Great team just a little run down
Lovely staff Clean room Breakfast choice excellent
Only thing that was not good for me was the heat in room, when we checked in the thermostart was on full in our room, we had to open the windows to try get it to cool down and by time we went to bed was still roasting, we stayed the 2 nights and the 2cd night the room was more comfortable for us to sleep in.
I like every thing about this hotel do not take my word for it come and stay.
The Hotel is located in a business park. It has easy access to the shops( Designer Outlet, Asda and restaurant). The check in process was easy and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The hotel has a bar, and a restaurant. Even though, I didn't use the facility, it was busy with hotel guests. The rooms in the hotel was good and spacious. This is not a hotel in not in the city central but reasonably priced and not to miss it. I will recommend the hotel , driving to Stirling castle and Edinburgh is workable from the hotel.
1. Arrived at 21:35 and checked in, was told food orders in restaurant closes in 5 mins so I immediately dropped bags and was at the restaurant to be told it was closed. I challenged this and was then able to order. 2. £17 for that burger and chips was not worth the money or wait. 9 chips and what was an average burger meat, ok sauce but minimal salad and cheese made it not worth the money. 3. Whilst still chewing the last bite, was asked to settle up teh bill as they wanted to close up the till, although i was sat in the bar and was told it was 24 hour. Felt like I had to leave. 4. The hotel is grotty and walking to the rooms shows the corridors are poorly maintained, every door has marks all over them. 5. Dirty toilet 6. Dirty leaky Iron (that had to be requested) 7. Asked if they had a take away cup for a coffee in the morning, quite basic for most hotels I visit, but this is not something they had or did. Not saying there are not worse hotels than this, but those hotels would not charge anywhere near what I paid per night.
Comfortable, location is fantastic for main shopping area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Grandchildren loved it
Overall a good stay, rate is reasonable.
Good
Lady at front desk very friendly and helpful to us. Got ironong board and iron no bother. Got free pint for joining hotel app. Lovely roaring fire going in. All downstairs and easy to navigate. Rooms basic but big and good prices. We slept really well.
Easy to check in and staff were great
Hotel clean tidy and staff very helpf
Old Folks Home vibes, rooms very dated. Could do with a major renovation. That being said staff are great and location perfect.
Excellent for what we wanted, great price
The stay was really good, and will recommend to anyone. will be going back 2025.
Really helpful staff
Very nice
Staff are lovely..very helpful and it was a great stay!
Nice place, close to Livingston Shopping Centre, and a good size car park.
Was a lovely stay and comfortable bed
Great hotel
Everything was amazing, no hassles, had a great time
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room outdated, with spider web hanging down the sealing. Heating was turned off so room was cold on arrival but heats up quickly after turning thermostat on. Difficult to adjust shower, most hot water was running through tap, where cold tap supplied shower head :/, easier to take bath then shower.
I would recommend it to friends and family
A very tired hotel, needs to be closed down and called a hostel. Absolute rip off for the price i paid. Full of non paying residents
As good as before
Staying only one night but comfortable central to amenities
Just don't. Expensive and in desperate need of repair and modernisation
