Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The check in process was rough as rooms were not ready when promised, however the staff made it right & were incredible after that! Jess & Hannah at the front desk were amazing & accommodating, and Trey & Andrew at valet were super friendly.
Location is fine. Atmosphere well, just think it could be better, hotel is definitely showing age. They did have a fire in the hotel lobby last week, we weren’t informed of that. So there was about 6 chairs set in the very hot lobby for guests. The room was nice but the air wasn’t keeping it cool. Value was fine, although they don’t tell you there is an additional 35.00 a day added upon check in. Not including parking. The room was clean, the halls and restaurant need a little freshening . Food was good though. Front desk really didn’t want to hear anything about it. That’s it.
Topline: Location is decent. Hotel in general very nice. Lobby is under construction. Rooms are HIGHLY VARIABLE. Checked in with a confirmed upgrade, upgrade was given to another family due to their length of stay. Ended up in a top-priced room that had half of the square-footage consumed by the adjacent emergency stairwell (anything ending in *27 should be avoided). Small room. No coffee machine. Comfy-ish bed. If you are used to other Kimpton properties or only stay at 3-Diamond or 5-Star hotels as we typically do, this will be a disappointment. I was excited to use this as our new Red Rock's base as we live in a resort town in the mountains, however my search continues. If you have never stayed anywhere nice, this might be a breath a fresh air. If you are a bit more seasoned, as I assumed most Kimpton hotel travelers are, you might be best served to stay in a suite at the Residence Inn next door for less money. My folks stayed there with a full suite for half of the price that I paid for a room a quarter of the size with slightly more snazzy wallpaper and a wine happy hour. Kimpton Denver: I'm gonna be honest - tighten it up.
So I will start by saying I was in Denver for a conference but traveling with 3 of my children, ages 22, 26, and 11. This was their first time In Colorado but not our first traveling experience. I’m going to start withe the boring and move on to the essentials 1- location is optimal to downtown and. Denver amenities. As with many city accommodations there is no street parking, valet is available and was what we used. 2- Rooms and cleanliness I wi list as 1. The entire hotel was clean but also going through renovations. Our room was large and comfortably appointed. The available complimentary items are fabulous. There was quite a bit of chipped paint and the guest elevators were on again off again so employees elevators had to be used. It definitely added to the adventure and memories! 3- value was comparable to the other local hotels, actually seemed less expensive. Again the complementary options were excellent. 4- atmosphere! This is my most important measure and thankfully, also my kids and peers. Some of my peers were in other hotels and NONE of them enjoyed the atmosphere as much as we did!! They left their hotels to hang at mine because the staff, Especially Hannah, Nick and the young blond who looked amazing in emerald green, were so welcoming, personable and always fun. They asked about what we enjoyed and didn’t, they engaged with each of us and made amazing food recommendations as well as things to see. You can’t renovate staff into amazing human beings that is something innate and the Kimpton Monaco has that!!
Great place we had 4 puppers with us for eye appointments for 2 of them! They were so accommodating and kind! If your fury best friend is with you this is the place you want to stay! We forgot their bowls and they lent us some. Great place ! Weill be staying there again!
We stayed there due to unforeseen circumstances at another hotel this past Friday evening. It was quite busy. Nate remained patient, calm and was quite understanding. He went above and beyond to help us out. Hotel had great vibes and ambiance. Rooms were excellent, spacious, very well maintained with nice views and comfortable beds. It was centrally located with walking distance to restaurants and other businesses. I would stay here, again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quality place to stay.
Accommodated special requests and very helpful bellhop.
Sign and lights guys blocking sidewalk all morning and was nowhere to be found! Had to detour around the cones and equipment! Fire at Hotel, I was on 6th floor and never heard any alarms! I had a coworker on the 5th floor and he didn’t hear anything either! Door guys were on it, did a great job! Housekeeping did a great job! Wallpaper coming off the walls in the bathroom! I LOVED the bigger towels!
Engaged and attentive staff, beautifully appointed rooms and a wonderful on-site restaurant - all within steps of the 16th Street entertainment corridor.
Denver treated me very well. I also want to mention that this hotel is very close to the Denver shopping District.I enjoyed my solo trip very well. All the accommodations were excellent. I especially enjoyed the red rocks amphitheater bus to pick us up and take you there and drop you off at the hotel. It was very convenient.
Excellent stay! Just hosted a three day business meeting with lunch and afternoon catering. Everything was perfect! My guest room was updated, and very clean. It was also quiet! Great staff, great location.
The Kimpton Monaco! What a great stay. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The staff always helpful and kind with a smile. Coffee service in the mornings with really good coffee. All around an amazing stay.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the valet staff. They worked tirelessly to make sure everyone that walked into the hotel was taken care of.
The room was clean, and the staff were friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The male staff member who checked us in last night was especially helpful. He made the check-in process smooth and took the time to answer our questions about the hotel benefits. We also really appreciated another staff member who kindly heated up our food before we left to catch our train so we could eat on the way. That thoughtful gesture made our morning much easier and showed excellent customer service. The only suggestion I have is that it would be nice if the rooms were remodeled or updated to give them a more modern feel.
Hotel Monaco was chosen for us for a package, but I would certainly stay here again. Our room was quite large and in great condition. We loved the location near the 26th Street mall.
A clean room. Odd hours for hotel bar and restaurant (didn’t bother to open for World Cup. Would come again, but wouldn’t go out of my way.
Great room size with comfortable couch. Excellent access to walk to great restaurants & Coors Field.
Power next to bed was spotty making cpap use difficult. Elevators were out of order - a minor inconvenience since we could use the service elevator.
Excellent location and friendly Staff! The amenities and room were great.
The staff and facilities were comfortable and welcoming! I loved how they asked how things were during time there. Their happy hour was a great treat. Anything we needed was taken care of!
Gracious hospitality, centrally located, clean and elegant rooms - I strongly recommend this hotel for any and all of your Downtown Denver stays.
Came home late from a concert then got stuck in their elevator for about 20-30 min. They were quick to help get us out, not sure how, but the security guy helped & we hurried out before it closed again. The next step would have been the fire dept but luckily he managed to get the doors open. We were told free breakfast as a consolation but we overslept & missed the opportunity. It’s the thought that counts I guess! Otherwise we really loved this hotel stay.
We stayed here for one night a couple of weeks ago. It is an older hotel with nice decor. The room was comfortable but dated (carpeted floors, old bath tile). It would have been adequate except for the hidden costs I was not aware of when booking. If you have a car, there is no parking available at the hotel so Valet is your only option. We were there for literally 26 hours. The car cost us $63! In addition, we were charged $30 per night for a Guest Amenity Fee. We have no idea what that was for. During our stay I received a text from the front desk asking if we were comfortable or needed anything. I did have a couple of questions pertaining to check-out time, dinner in the area, etc and my multiple messages were unanswered. For what it’s worth, i found the front desk staff to be aloof as well.
We had a late arrival coming from a far distance, only needed one night to recharge and continue our journey. The check-in process was awful, as machines to run the card were down. I was sent a form to fill out for incidentals to my email. Parking is awful and confusing. The lot next to the hotel is shared with the Marriott and even though signage indicated parking for both hotels, and parking space was available for 15 min to check in according to the posted signs, the parking attendant for the Marriott was aggressive, rude, intimidating, confrontational, impatient, and wouldn’t allow parking for 10min to check in. Nothing special about the “premium” room at an additional cost, no amenities, no ice machine and a view right into the parking garage. Walking from the parking garage to the hotel entrance felt unsafe. Since the parking lot was not connected to the hotel, we had to exit the lot and walk the street level past many homeless individuals engaged in open drug use around the property. We also would have expected more from such a pet friendly property. While we appreciated no pet fee for our dog, there were no safe areas to take her to relieve herself. It was an extremely stressful experience when all we needed was a comfortable night’s stay. As a tourist in the area for the first time, I wouldn’t consider either property for a stay after this experience. The parking attendant at the Marriott is better suited as a bouncer for a dive bar, rather than any position related to hospitality in anyway.
My reviews are based on: - Welcome Cleanliness Comfort and sleep So let's get to it. To Hannah, Cody, Nate and Zoltan a huge thank you! Our genuine welcome has been so appreciated and the help you have given us during our way to our short stay in Denver has made our visit memorable. Thank you each and every one of you! Your help has been invaluable and your welcome appreciated more than words can convey. This was a special stop as it marked the end of our 2nd USA road trip from the UK. We will remember this NOT for the end of a trip but the possible start of our next travel adventure in the USA. It is said that the journey is not about the destination but on a road trip there has to be a destination and we are so very happy for this stop point we stayed here. So thats the welcome covered. Cleanliness - 100% on point. The room could do with a lick of paint and the wallpaper certainly needs looking at. Comfort and sleep. We are both super early risers so can you imagine waking up at 09:30? A small bed compared to our home but we slept like babies.I cannot count how many times we have slept in that late in 15 years!!! The water offering was a god send because we visited through a high heat period. The evening wine was a great thought and thank you. To IHG - whoever is running this hotel has the right staff, the right outlook and offers a great place to sleep at night. We will be back and thats a promise. All in all a perfect stay just less than perfect because we had to leave.
Excellent stay. I would stay here again.
This is a nice personable hotel. Everyone was very helpful and gracious. They communicate well, I had a lamp problem in my room/ I informed via text and it was fixed before I returned. It’s a bit dark in the entire hotel, and room lighting does not get very bright if you are trying to locate things in your suitcase. I used phone flashlight a lot. Also no beverage service in the room - I could not make coffee or tea - complementary coffee only offered in short AM window. The fridge in my room was not on or not working / warm inside. Minor things, but they are what makes it not a 5 star. Beds very comfy, housekeeping very good
We spent 9 nights and the service was great! Hannah at the front desk is awesome. The brussel sprouts in Panzana are phenomenal.
Love staying at Hotel Monaco and doing date weekend.
A very clean and modern hotel with nice amenities located centrally in Denver. An easy walk to Union Station, Mile High Stadium, the Convention Center and many restaurants in the vicinity.
Truly dog friendly and the Front Desk staff and manager were very helpful. Nightcap at Front Desk was also nice touch.
Zoltan is awesome. He is the head valet at the hotel. He went above and beyond today to help me get my car fixed. My battery went dead overnight. He tried to jump it for me and RAN back and forth trying to get it done. This is while he is super busy with other guests. I really appreciate his kindness. What a great gentleman.
I stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver for two nights on a last-minute trip and chose it because the rate was attractive for a downtown location. The location is excellent and makes it easy to explore downtown Denver on foot. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and the shower had excellent water pressure with consistently hot water. The hotel’s signature moody aesthetic creates a unique atmosphere, although some guests may find the room lighting a bit too dim. There are a few areas where the experience fell short. The standard rooms are quite small unless you opt for an upgraded room category. The television is not a true smart TV and instead relies on Google Chromecast, which may matter to travelers who prefer built-in streaming apps. More concerning was the cleanliness of the bathroom. There was noticeable hair in several areas, and the cracked area at the bottom of the shower did not appear particularly clean. Noise was not a major issue during my stay, but the overall room condition could benefit from more attention to detail. As an IHG Platinum member, I was also disappointed that no room upgrade was offered and that late checkout was unavailable. One of the reasons I remain loyal to hotel brands is for the elite benefits, so that was a missed opportunity. Overall, if you’re looking for an affordable, well-located hotel in downtown Denver with comfortable accommodations, Hotel Monaco is a solid option. While there are some areas that could be improved, I would likely stay here again for a short trip.
Every time we come to Denver we stay at the Kimpton. Always a pleasant experience with great service and hospitality. Great location in Denver to get to everything .
Needs some updating. Two towels in a suite for four people. Had to change rooms to get a decent WiFi signal.
TOP NOTCH STAFF AND LOCATION!!! The staff was very much accommodating and verything was within minutes of the hotel!!! It was especially important to me for accommodations to be trustworthy since this was my first solo trip!
Quiet hotel, perfect for business travel. Polite rent desk staff who are all extremely helpful! Coffee set up in the lobby each morning is a nice touch!!
Great location and decor plus happy hour.
Had to get in somewhere last minute, the room was comfortable and overall a good stay. Nate was very impressive as the sole night agent on duty, though it was evident another person really needs to be scheduled to manage the duties he was swinging (nightcap bartender, check-in, answering calls, and drink and snack bar attendant. Also finder of the valet.). He dealt with some rude/impatient customers on the phone with the utmost diplomacy while also checking a line of people in. Kudos to him and recommend the Kimpton overall.
The people working here were incredibly friendly. Place was clean and quiet. Very comfortable! The shuttle to red rocks finished this off for a perfect stay.
We love the Monaco! The service is amazing. This was the first time that we didn't love the bed. The room was exactly what we needed. They go above and beyond to meet your needs. Definitely recommend and will return.
Room very comfortable. Reservation was very good!
Staff was great! They helped me out quite a few items and I was very appreciative.
Excellent hotel near many bars and restaurants Much fun
So nice and a very beautiful hotel. The staff was amazing, especially Drake at the front desk!
Drake was amazing at customer service and helping with everything
My experience at the Kimpton was great. The parking situation wasn’t the best but I still enjoyed my stay.
The location was good, not perfect
Stayed here for a week during a work trip to Denver, and while the location is excellent for downtown access, the overall experience was disappointing for the price point. Check-in was smooth, and I appreciated that the hotel offers a happy hour and nightcap, though unfortunately I couldn’t take advantage of them because of my work schedule. The biggest issue was the WiFi (1mbps). Since I was splitting time between working from the office and remotely from the hotel, reliable internet was essential. The connection was extremely slow throughout my stay, to the point where even basic browsing struggled. The hotel even has a dedicated internet support button on the room phone, but support was limited to resetting the router, which never solved the problem. I eventually had to work from nearby cafés instead, which was frustrating for a business stay. The room itself also felt dated. The headboard looked worn out and gave off more of a budget motel vibe than a hotel in this price range. Housekeeping was inconsistent as well. Service only happened after reminders to the front desk, and even then it lasted just a few minutes. Towels and glasses were sometimes not replaced. One positive was the onsite restaurant. The food was good, although the menu could use more variety. Like everything else at the hotel, it was also fairly expensive. Overall, I regret booking this hotel for a 7-night stay. For the price, there are likely much better options in downtown Denver.
Awesome hotel, great coffee, small rooms. Slow elevators—plan accordingly.
Hotel is not perfect location explore downtown Denver. Like many people have mentioned, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. They especially have excellent staff members. We use their bikes and had a flat on our ride. Jessica, the receptionist, was quick to help us out and had Allen, their maintenance/mechanic, pick us up in his personal vehicle to help us during a time of need. Super friendly, i’m very apologetic about the whole situation. I would definitely stay here again!
I have been a regular guest at the Monaco for over 15 years. It has always excelled, but when I was there a year ago, I noticed a dip in the level of service, especially to platinum and Diamond level members. So although i was reluctant to book again I thought I’d give it another shot. Glad that I did. The front desk was top-notch. They made sure I was in a room that was suited to me. I couldn’t have been happier. The upgraded rooms were definite plus. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. It was a very pleasant day with no issues whatsoever and I will definitely book there the next time i am in Denver. Thank you for hiring great Customer Service at the front desk. It makes all the difference in the world.
The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was wonderful and very cozy. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The Panzano restaurant onsite was absolutely amazing as well.
Comfortable, quiet, walk in shower. Only wish they had a shuttle to Union Station. Valet was very helpful getting elderly into Lyft vehicle.
Great experience and fun low key vibe stay
Denver location offers the most vibrant energy. The staff is SO friendly and helpful. The restoration of this age building leaves you comfortable and imaginative-
Hotel is located close to convention center and music centers. Room was clean and all at the front desk were super nice. Loved breakfast and dinner at Panama.
Fantastic location with excellent service, spacious clean rooms and accommodating staff
From the moment I arrived, I knew this stay was going to be something special. The staff went above and beyond in every way—starting with a surprise upgrade to a beautiful suite. The room was spacious, stylish, and incredibly comfortable, with all the thoughtful touches that make Kimpton properties feel like home. What truly impressed me, though, was the personalized hospitality. Shortly after settling in, the team delivered a handwritten note along with a bag of goodies—an unexpected and genuinely touching gesture that made me feel sincerely welcomed and appreciated. Every interaction with the staff was warm and effortless, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is both chic and inviting. Between the exceptional service, the stunning suite, and the little moments of personalized care, this was easily one of my best hotel experiences in Denver. I can’t recommend this property highly enough. I’ll absolutely be back!
Great hotel and terrific location.
Fantastic. Great property, great staff, and superb restaurant attached.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to stay because of some of the reviews in times past. I can confirm elevators are working fine. The room was clean and air conditioning works. Staff are the hotel’s greatest asset, they weee superb and the restaurant lived up to expectations
Waited over 45 minutes for room to be cleaned. Arrived around 1610 and didn't get checked in until 1700.
I have stayed at many IHG properties to earn Diamond status. This is by far the worst and most exp property I have stayed at to date. My husband and I are full-time caregivers to a bed ridden parent along with our full time careers. So we decided to spurge and stay at a lux boutique style hotel. I think we paid around $300 a night after trading in some points. Regular price for our king executive suite was around $4-450 per night. When checking in it was pointed out that I had used points for the stay. But in a manner like I had my room comped. Or something. Made me feel less than. Blake could have been nicer. We walked into our room. It was very spacious and nicely appointed. But it was hot and muggy. The a/c was off. So. I turned it on. After 2-3 hours, the room was still pretty warm. So I texted the front desk to ask for two fans. One for each large room. They said no problem and that they would let engineering know. Housekeeping brought up a small desk fan. That would just have to do. We received a note from the engineer that the units are old, they need replaced, nothing they could do. Even if we moved to another room. Probably would not be better. So we stayed. See attached photo of note. The pillows go completely flat when you lay on them. Even stacked up. The mattress is worn out. Gets thin when you lay on it and you can feel the springs. There is also black mold in the bathroom. Not sure why that hasn’t just been bleached and cleaned. problem solved. The bathroom linens were frayed and thin. The elevators also went out while we were there for the last two days. There was a service elevator where you had to walk through the staff areas of a restaurant to get to it. Very weird. The signs telling us about this issue were worn so it must happen regularly. I don’t understand how a hotel brand such aa this let’s it hotel become so run down. I have stayed at $80-90 a night hotels that were better. I did reply to a text message from Hannah asking to rate my stay to that point. I said 3. She asked me to explain my review. I provided all this feedback minus the black mold. Forgot to include it. Zero response. 99% of the time we stay at Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Great hotel. Nice linens. Pillows. Best mattress. How can a company like IHG operate a lower scale brand so much better than a much higher brand hotel like Kimpton. So sad. I will not stay at this brand hotel again.
Great location to be in Denver with quick accees to downtown
Great location, friendly staff.
Was a little noisy. Rooms feel outdated
Stayed a night here. It was okay. The options here are quite limited, food options are not too great, building is dated but room has been refurbished. I slept well. Coffee is in the lobby, which was something I didn't expect. But good options so well done. The staff are fantastic. Great service at the front desk and concierge.
Beautiful rooms and excellent customer service. I will definitely stay here when I'm back in Denver.
Great location, clean rooms, nice coffee and cocktail hours, friendly staff! Would recommend and visit again. HOWEVER - I hope that the exec level team sees this - this location needs to hire more staff coverage and/or managers. I came with a group of my employees for business and they were unable to check in prior to my arrival, despite there being a card already on file. The reason given was that the manager was off on a comp day (this was the middle of the day on a weekday) and they couldn’t access the card information without a manager present. This is a huge issue when it comes to corporate travel, with everyone arriving at different times. Additionally, I ordered breakfast delivery to my room the night before, and it arrived almost 45 minutes after the window with no heads up on how late it would be. When I called down they said they were short staffed. When it was delivered, it was 1) incorrect and 2) brought by a manager which to me indicates a staffing issue. Everyone I interacted with was kind and courteous! I just wish that they had the coverage and support they need to ensure proper guest service.
We just stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our experience! Every front desk staff member was extremely friendly and accommodating and room was spacious.
Beautiful hotel! We loved our room
Its was clean
The staff when i called one night wasnt helpful. The guy at the desk at night. The day time staff was nice and super helpful
I booked through my Travel Agent bed and breakfast. Every hotel requests a credit card upon booking in. I booked out after staying 1 night, to my disgust I was charged for my breakfast and $30 for an amenity fee! I didn’t use the gym or anything else in the hotel, I even moved my own luggage, this hidden cost is very deceitful. I had handed back the card to the room and was not told about these costs. The hotel does not have an email address to send a request for a refund. There is only one service lift operating, the restaurant was closed for a private function which resulted in me having to walk through congregating people near the only lift which is next to the restaurant. The bed was comfortable, good wifi, nice staff.
Probably not what you would expect from a Kimpton, but everything was solidly average. Staff and service were exceptionally nice though and helpful. On a positive note, they are replacing their guest elevators so all of the complaints on previous reviews would likely not apply in the future. The bad news is, we had to use the service elevator or the stairs. That’s fine. I can excuse them for that. Shower pressure was a bit weak or the showerhead was a little too water saving. They promptly placed our pillows upon request with more comfortable ones so that was great. However, the view is absolutely abysmal at least from our room, onto another office building, which was maybe 15 feet from our window. It just made the whole roof seem very dark and dreary.
Loved the ambiance and style - our room was so nice and spacious

Night staff
Excellent stay all around. The customer service was top-notch, the room was comfortable and spotless, and the extra amenities made the experience even better. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about their guests. Highly recommend and would gladly return.
Location is perfect for walking downtown
Getting older
Drake at the front desk was wonderful and so helpful! and the wine hour and bourbon hour and happy hour plus dinner and drink credit are really cool too!
Now I'm loathed to leave a negative review but here we are. I have platinum status with IHG. This was not recognised at check in which isn't the end of the world as I do find it a bit cringey when they thank you for your loyalty. On checking in I requested a 2pm check out. Which on the day of check out I verified, and it had not been actioned. Now I was only able to get a 1pm check out which caused me to have rearrange my plans. Quite inconvenient. My room had a lot of road noise, quite considerably dark, opening the curtains meant the offices next door could look straight into my room. The heating in my suite did not work, or was entirely inadequate for its sole purpose of heating the room. I informed reception of this issue who promised me it would be sorted out. It was not. So was rather cold in a large suite. My keycard stopped working at midday which required FOUR trips to reception from my room to rectify wasting another 15 minutes of my time. All in all this was my worst stay in any IHG hotel in the world. I would say maybe it's a Kimpton thing as I prefer staying in Intercontinental's but the Kimpton Bloomsbury in London is exceptional. I suspect it's this hotel and its rather lackadasical approach to their customers. Others have seemed to enjoy, and good on them. I'll never stay here again, and my next trip in a week to Canada has been switched from IHG to a competing chain based solely on this experience. Also only one lift works! Genuinely a shambles of a hotel, very poorly run. No doubt there will be a generic feedback statement after this apologising and offering to reach out. To make it better... for all concerned, I'll just stay somewhere else..
I felt ostracized. I’m gay and it was obvious they don’t like gay. To my fellow family, find a property where you are welcomed.
We had a great stay thanks to Hannah at the front desk. She was SO understanding, friendly, kind and helpful. If it hadn’t been for her I don’t know if we would have had as good of a trip. Thank you again!
Great location and comfortable stay!
The food was great and the room was perfect

The room was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant had great Italian food. The event spaces downstairs were functional and well appointed!. I really liked the wine tasting in the lobby at the end of the day! 😊. I would definitely stay here again.
Great staff. However, watch out for the amenity fees. I thought there was a new law on transparent pricing and was surprised but not shocked when they mentioned the extra charge and "what I get for it" which is just what I expect from the brand. My room was not in tip top shape (carpet frayed, shower cracked, bed needs a new mattress but great pillows). It might be time to abandon the brand.
There was a surprise $30 a night hotel fee which was very annoying.
Sitting in my room on the 5th floor listening to the conversation of two. Strangers in the next room on other side of room door. They could be sitting next to my bed that’s how loud it is and they are just having a normal conversation. Don’t stay here.
We had a short in the wiring by the coffee pot and the light and keep going out off and on while you were making coffee a little scary. I’m sure they’ll get it fixed. Other than that. It was really nice.
