No signage in front of the hotel! Hard to find

Localização excelente, simpatia da equipa, optima insonorização e os quartos tinham boas áreas.

As casa de banho do quarto já mostram algum desgaste. Como o edificio estava em obras a vista estava tapada e isso devial ter sido mencionado por parte do hotel.

Location was excellent, walking distance to everything. Staff were exceptional.

It is a gem of a place, ideally located in the heart of Old town. So many eating places to choose from right around and walking distance to most of the main sights. Atmosphere in the area is buzzing. Breakfast was very good. Room is excellent.

No visible signage of the Hotel name. I walked right past and had to rely on google to find the place. Thankfully the front desk saw me and came out to greet me. Other than that everything else was excellent.

Location and staff made our stay exceed expectations.

We didn't.t realise that the hotel was going under an external renovation. One of our window views was looking into scaffolding.

Βρίσκεται σε εξαιρετικό σημείο της παλιάς πόλης, οι υπάλληλοι στη ρεσεψιόν είναι ιδιαίτερα εξυπηρετικοί, είναι πάρα πολύ καθαρό, διαθέτει ωραίες κλειστές ντουλάπες και μικρό ψυγείο, που το θεωρώ ιδιαίτερα χρήσιμο, το wi fi είναι εξαιρετικό, έχει δωρεάν παροχή καφέ και τσάι και προσφέρει φύλαξη για τις αποσκευές πριν το check in και μετά το check out.

Το στρώμα στο κρεβάτι ήταν αρκετά καλό , τα μαξιλάρια δεν ήταν καθόλου καλά αλλά μας τα άλλαξαν όταν το ζητήσαμε και το πρωινό ήταν βασικό, θα μπορούσε να έχει περισσότερες επιλογές

Beautiful hotel located right in the heart of the old town. Loved reading about its history as a cinema and the bed was super comfy.

The location was great. There was a high school band performance right in the courtyard in from of the hotel, which was great! There are many good restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. The included breakfast buffet was good.

We could have been informed that there was major construction going on around the outside of the building and all the windows were covered so there was no view at all. Also the outside courtyard was closed due to the construction. I don't believe we received the room that we booked. The front desk was not helpful with information regarding attractions nearby and the hotel did not have a concierge.

Супер расположение . В старом городе . Красивые улочки, старинные здания , магазины , кафе , рестораны на любой вкус- все рядом . Улица Банхофштрассе - минуты 3 ходьбы через мост. Комната - у нас на троих-большая , чистая. Кровать удобная.

Нет своей парковки. Нужно ставить машину на парковке Урания. 45 франков сутки. Не разрешили зайти на завтрак на 15 минут раньше- нам нужно было уезжать в аэропорт . Открывается в 7 и точка .

Staff were friendly and helpful

This is not the quality of a 4 star hotel it felt like the conditions of a hostel very run down and there was no mention of construction works all over the building guests were told they could not open their windows in their rooms.

Excellent location! Super helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast. The mattress was amazing - so comfortable and good on the back. We left our luggage in reception as we were early and our room wasn’t ready and the cases were in our rooms when we came back. Would happily stay here again. Thanks to all the staff.

The only downside was that there was major building work during our stay and there was loud drilling and vibration felt in the room from around 8am

Our room was lovely and comfortable. And so quiet! We heard absolutely nothing from outside the room. The hotel location is perfect for exploring Zürich. In a square just off the main road and the river with several restaurant choices and a small convenience store. And an easy walk to the bahnhof. The breakfast was wonderful, with choices to please every palate. The staff were all very friendly and super helpful. And...there is a lovely library room to enjoy some quiet time with a cup of tea or coffee!

Room was supposed to have air conditioning. Room had a very loud mobile unit that blew very little cold air and the room was very stuffy. Pillows were terrible. No fresh water offered daily. Front counter staff were not friendly nor helpful when asking for assistance

Location And the rooms were clean

We booked this hotel about a year in advance, choosing it for its excellent Old Town location and reasonable price. However, when we arrived, the hotel was undergoing renovations. There was scaffolding hanging right outside our room window with workers moving back and forth during the day, so we couldn’t open our curtains or even open the bathroom window—construction workers were walking right in front of us. ​The inner courtyard on the second floor was closed due to the renovations, making it impossible to sit outside or smoke. On our departure day, we asked for a late check-out due to an evening flight. We were told this was impossible, but that we could wait in the first-floor lobby instead. The lobby had no air conditioning, and after sweltering in the heat, we preferred to just head to the airport and wait half a day there. ​We find it completely unacceptable that we were not notified in advance about any of these issues or the severe inconvenience caused by the hotel's massive renovation. Extremely disappointed

Great location in Zurich! Comfortable room

Breakfast was chaotic, no where to sit, running out of food but be patient and you’ll get something. The hotel sign was covered by construction so the hotel is hard to locate!!! The hotel can’t control the city construction but they could add a sign at their door so people aren’t wandering and wondering where the hotel is.

Fantastic location with friendly helpful staff. Reserved a superior double room was a great size and clean. Very good breakfast included. Highly recommend

The location of the hotel is in a nice part of the old city. high concentration of places to eat for all budgets. Theres a small convenience store across from the hotel that caters for most things. sandwiches, ice cream, gum etc.

It started with the uber dropping us off on the main road and we had to walk with 3x large bags, a carry on bag and a stroller with my son. This was also not included in the in the hotel description. The hotel staff are well aware of this and wont assist you with luggage where you are dropped off. Also the hotel decides to renovate the facade in peak season when the temps are in the high 80s. We were not able to open the windows or draw the curtains because it was an active renovation. So the hotel brings a portable ac that pipes out the hot air through a window but the pipe wasnt fixed properly so the pipe kept falling out releasing the hot air into the room. I informed, rather reigned complaints upon the hotel and they never fixed it. oh and netflix doesn't work. I thought I was stuck in a third world country !! seriously it was that bad. Thankfully we were only there for 2 nights. We now at the novotel geneva, very nice hotel. Still no netflix BUT everything works including the AC !!!

Great location, close to everything. Staff are friendly and promptly assisted with anything we needed. Breakfast is awesome and the hotel library is amazing.

Rooms a bit warm if the weather is nice, but they provided a fan.

Para ser un hotel de cuatro estrellas estaba limpio pero muy descuidado ,el aire un aparato en medio de la habitación con salida por la ventana que hacía un ruido insoportable y eso no se puede admitir en un hotel así..el tamaño de la habitación tampoco se correspondía..vamos como mucho 20/21 metros no 28 como decía la publicidad..y el desayuno justito…

The location of Hotel Wellenberg is fantastic as it is within walking distance of major public transport hubs and places of interest. There are lots of beautiful shops, restaurants and bars within a few metres of the hotel, yet it still felt quiet and intimate. My wife and I liked the selection of food and drinks on offer at breakfast and the staff in the dining room were very welcoming and friendly. We had less interaction with the reception staff but they were also very professional and friendly.

The room was a little tired and in need of a refresh but it was very clean and tidy and towels were changed every day. We found the room a little stuffy as the windows couldn't be opened due to ongoing building works. The provided mobile air conditioning unit was a bit noisy and not particularly effective.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht. Die Lage ist optimal. Frühstück vielfältige und ausreichend.

Leider war zum Zeitpunkt unseres Aufenthaltes das Gebäude eingerüstet und es wurden Sanierungsarbeiten durchgeführt. Ein Punkt warum ich dieses Hotel ausgewählt habe, war dass es über eine Klimaanlage verfügt. Diese "Klimaanlage" war als Standgerät zwar vorhanden, jedoch so laut, dass es für den Betrieb in der Nacht nicht genützt werden konnte. Und aufgrund der Sanierung wurde man gebeten die Fenster geschlossen zu halten......

The location is excellent. In the old town and close to everything.

The property was undergoing renovations - something we were not informed about. The pillows were awful , the bathroom dated and the breakfast area tired. The air conditioning sounded like we were on a plane. This hotel lacks warmth and needs to pay more attention to the needs of guests.

Air conditioning was a stand alone and it kept defaulting to 25 . It wasn’t cool and it also had a pipe out the window which was hot to touch hence the room still warm

The location was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit and hot freshly baked croissants and pastries. Loved our stay

We stayed at the Wellenberg for 4 nights at the end of July 2026. While we greatly appreciated the reception staff allowing us to utilise our allotted room a little earlier, we have to say the appreciation ended there. Our room was small, dark and in a great need of updating. Our curtains (to block out the unbearable heat and direct sunlight) were threadbare and had numerous holes throughout the curtains. Our pillows were dreadful and we shuddered to know what was beneath the pillowcases. Our towels were grey and threadbare. There was no such thing as an amenity of any sort in the bathroom. Please bear in mind this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. The skirting board was falling off, the coffee table surface was peeling badly. The outside shutters were stuck half down and hence the portable air conditioner (4 star hotel)?So all up the air conditioner was incredibly deficient in providing any relief from the very hot summer we were having. All up we would NEVER stay in this terrible hotel again. Please people read some of the reviews carefully as some of the reviews written of this hotel did not match our terrible, horrible experience. We had breakfast provided and at least the staff were cheery.

Hello, Your hotel was not up to standards of a 4-star boutique hotel. The pictures online are completely different than what the hotel actual is. The room was 26 degrees the entire time. We were told we could not open our windows bc of the construction outside. There was no lobby with a restaurant or bar. The bathroom was rusty and in bad shape. The ceiling is very low (<6’4”) Please address these issues or accurately represent your hotel online.

The staff helped where they can and they wanted us to feel welcome.

The owner didn’t tell us there will be maintenance during our stay - and we didn’t have any view from our room with the exception of covers for the maintenance being done at the time. Was not cool …..

Sono rimasta un po' male per la colazione senza glutine! Mi hanno portato solo 2 panini minuscoli!non c'era null altro per me ! Per chi non soffre di celiachia v era una colazione semplice ma completa di tutto ! L unica cosa fastidiosa una cameriera un po caciarosa! Parlava a tono molto alto , ed era un po ingombrante ! La colazione ,sarebbe bello rilassarsi e organizzare le idee per la giornata ! Parlava troppo forte ed era un po' invadente !ma poi questo è soggettivo ,magari c'è a chi non dà fastidio appena svegli sentire una che parla a tono alto e ride in modo rumoroso !!

The scaffolding which was erected outside our window , with plastic wrapping on our windows, very small room and shower was about two feet step up and had a plastic shower curtain

Fabulous location, good size room.

As it was hot for our visit the in room air conditioner was too noisy to keep on for sleeping so was quite warm. I would stay there again, it is just something to put up with.

The location was excellent and right near the river

As they are renovating there was scaffolding right outside our window therefore had to leave the drapes closed and the enrolment was very dark and hot. We opened drapes and window of an evening to be rudely awaken at 7am with workers on the scaffolding outside our room

We just completed a 15 day vacation in Switzerland. We spent 4 days at Hotel Welllenberg in 3 different rooms .The picture to the left does not look like where we stayed . It was in old town . A regular room was very small , and a family room was comfortable. It was very hot outside and the air-conditioning barely worked. The hotel has a great location .Ruth runs the kitchen and she is fabulous . You will have an outstanding breakfast served by a very friendly staff. The front desk staff is also excellent . We stayed in 6 hotels in Switzerland this was our 3rd best .

מיקום מצויין בעיר העתיקה של ציריך, החדרים נוחים ונקיים. ארוחת הבוקר טובה. צוות המלון מצויין, עוזר מאוד ומקצועי. יש מלא מסעדות וחנויות ממש למטה.

הזמנו חדר עם מזגן והיה מזגן נייד שעושה המון רעש. המלון בשיפוץ ובפתיחת החלון רואים רק פיגומים.

Nada, habitación sin aire acondicionado, solo un tipo pingüino con un ruido ensordecedor !! Baño de plástico y antiguo, presión del agua insuficiente. Fachada en obras, no se podía abrir ventanas. Hab sucia, con mucho polvo. Pedí cambio de habitación pero no fue posible.

Es un buen hotel, bien ubicado, las habitaciones son lindas pero el baño no es muy cómodo y hay muy poca luz en todos lados. Tiene un patio muy agradable, el desayuno es bueno y el personal correcto.

Very central location with lots of restaurants in the same street. One street away from the river and short 10 min walk away from the train station. Breakfast was really great and the room was very clean. Staff and Manager were very friendly and helpful

La ubicación , que realmente es lo que pagas , porque por el resto no vale la pena . Después de estar allí una semana , hay hoteles mas centricos y mejor acondicionados y preparados.

La preciredad del sofa cama y la falta de descanso . El estado del sofà cama és precario. La primera noche , nos tubieron que acomodar un trozo de espuma porque se marcaban todos los muelles y no disponían de más habitaciones. La segunda noche el sofa cama que nos dieron a penas había colchon y chirriaba en todo momento , a más a más quedaba curvado , sin estar recto. Vergonzoso po el precio que cobran . A destacar también el aire acondicionado de todas las habitaciones, usan aparatos moviles por lo que el ruido de la máquina es desmesurado para el descanso. Muy lamentable la experiencia y la inactividad por arreglar la situación.

The hotel is well located near the old town and the main shopping street, Bahnhof Strasse.

This was our first time staying at this hotel. I would give it 3 stars. There was no coffee in the room, and water was only provided on the first day. The double bed for two was small. The room for two had only one chair. There were no toiletries in the shower except soap, shampoo, and towels. The breakfast was very poor. When I asked about fish, they said it was only available on Fridays. We had previously stayed at a three-star hotel in Zurich, where the breakfasts were excellent and the egg selection was varied. This was the first time I learned that you have to pay extra for fried eggs. It seemed like the hotel was cutting corners. When we checked out, they called us every time we asked for time to pack, and it felt like we were being kicked out. Compared to other hotels in Switzerland, this one left us perplexed. I agree with another guest that the hotel deserves three stars. When we booked our room, we saw photos of a large bathroom and spacious room. The photos provided didn't match the original. We were given a room with a small shower. It felt like the two of us were being accommodated in a room designed for one person.

Property was fine, Clean and reasonable size room

Breakfast was included but not bacon and eggs only scrambled eggs you had to pay extra for that, which a lot of other hotels give you in our past travels. I was very concerned at an incident where after the cleaner came and did her job in am, but about 3 pm, there was a knock on door but I thought it might’ve been for next door as I hadn’t requested anything,so I ignored it, then a woman with a white blouse opened the door and about to enter the room, when she realised we were in there she said sorry and left. I asked to see the manager about this but he obviously didn’t care to see me at all about the situation and just sent the reception staff, who was smirking all the time thinking this was a joke, so be very careful with your valuable and even the safe, because they all know the default code I didn’t feel safe after this incident, as there was absolutely NO reason, for a staff to enter our room. And even more disappointed that the duty manager couldn’t be bothered addressing me or reassuring me, so I wouldn’t recommend this to my family or friends for this reason,

Nice hotel in the old town, pleasant staff, newly comfortable decorated room, rich buffet and near to tram stop and main station.

Bar unavailable for some time (perhaps due to renovations???) would have been good if we were notified of the situation. Air conditioning unit very noisy (as reported by many) but we found if you turned the machine to fan only prior to going to sleep, the noise was much reduced.

The location is ideal and I have stayed here many times in the past and always had an excellent experience the staff was more than helpful and assisted me with some train issues that I was having I would recommend this lovely little boutique hotel always. I expect to stay there again on my next visit to Zurich

Die Lage ist einfach super.

Der aufdringliche Hotelpage, welcher sich für die letzten drei Meter im 4. OG die Koffer schnappte und dann einen Obolus einforderte. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung aber auch nicht mehr. Die Anfahrt zum Hotel ist am Nachmittag/Abend auf Grund der vielen umliegenden gastronomischen Angebote schwierig und unübersichtlich. Die Einrichtung ist an mehreren Stellen in die Jahre gekommen.
