Absolutely beautiful setting overlooking lake and mountains. Started our mornings with a marvelous breakfast admiring the breathtaking views and being catered to by the kindest hardworking staff who all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

The hotel was clean, the food was excellent and the shuttle easily got us around town. The best part, tho, was the view of the Lakes of Killarney out of our room’s window.

We reserved the superior suite with a garden view. We liked the suite however the view of the maintenance garage and garbage truck loading right outside our sliding patio door was unacceptable!

In the morning it was very loud with maintenance workers talking and loading up garbage for hours not to mention being able to look through our patio door which was absolutely unacceptable! We asked to move rooms however we were then given a suite that overlooked a cemetery. These views of the expensive suites are NOT disclosed in the advertising!!!

Atendimento excelente na recepção, no restaurante, no pequeno-almoço…. Conforto e ambiente do hotel. Aproveitamos também a piscina, o ginásio, o jacuzzi, o banho turco…

View and the breakfast were amazing

The staff were friendly and professional. Lovely relaxing spa area. Upgraded on arrival to a larger room as there mid week.

The hotel staff are really nice and excellent at their jobs! The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning. There's a walk to a few benches that overlook the lake and mountains to take it in. This view is also from the hotel. The food is very good. We ate in the resteraunt and it was better than I expected in terms of quality and quantity for fine dining. The cooked breakfast and buffet are excellent too

Location and staff

The closing of room doors was quite disturbing with a slow closing system ending with a bang slam that would make you jump in bed. In this day and age there are suitable door closing systems to ensure a restful stay of guests. Shame! Our stay could have just been perfect otherwise.

Mountain View from the room could have been better if it wasn’t blocked off with frosting stuck on to the glass. Some frosting was fine as it blocked off the view of the car park but the higher frosting blocked a lot of the Mountain View.

The views from the Hotel are truly fantastic, must rank as one of the most picturesque hotels in Europe. The overall experience was first class and memorable. The staff are very welcoming and professional nothing was a problem.

It is difficult to highlight anything negative.

The view was amazing. The staff were the friendliest I have experienced. The food/breakfast was perfect. Very hard to find anything negative about this place. We celebrated my wife's birthday here and it was amazing.

There were some repairs happening in the jacuzzi and we could not use it. Would have been great if we could. But other than that it was perfect.

The location, the staff, attention to detail… everything was wonderful!

We booked Aghadoe Heights to celebrate our engagement, and there is a lot to love about the hotel. The location and views are absolutely stunning, overlooking the lakes, mountains and Killarney National Park. Our room was spacious, luxurious and extremely comfortable, with a beautiful balcony facing the lake. The room itself really couldn't be faulted. The food was another highlight. We had an excellent fine-dining experience in the restaurant and the quality of the food was fantastic. Staff throughout reception, the restaurant and bar were always polite and professional. The indoor pool has beautiful views and there is also a lovely outdoor terrace overlooking the surrounding scenery. It is a very relaxing setting.

For the price we paid — we expected a little more in terms of personal service and attention to detail. I had contacted the hotel beforehand to specifically tell them that we were staying to celebrate our engagement, and I paid for a bottle of Prosecco to be waiting in our room. The Prosecco was there as requested, but there was no card, note, congratulations or any small gesture from the hotel acknowledging our engagement. We weren't expecting anything extravagant or expensive, but even a simple handwritten card saying "Congratulations" would have made a huge difference. For a luxury hotel at this price point, these are the little touches that make an occasion feel special. While the staff were professional and polite, the service sometimes felt quite clinical rather than particularly warm or personal. The pool area was nice and very clean, with fantastic views, but we also felt that parts of it looked slightly dated compared with the standard of the bedrooms and other areas of the hotel. Some modernisation would make a significant difference. The hotel also has EV charging spaces, which is very useful, although unfortunately they were all already occupied in the evening when we wanted to charge. Overall, we had a very nice stay. The room was beautiful, the views were exceptional and the food was excellent. However, considering the price and the level of luxury associated with Aghadoe Heights, we came away feeling that something was missing. It was a very good hotel stay, but the lack of those small, thoughtful and personal touches meant our engagement stay didn't feel quite as special as we had hoped.

It’s tired, peeling wall paper, thin walls. Swimming pool and changing area wasn’t clean. Staff don’t say hi as you walk in, no offer of help with luggage. Not very 5*

Beautiful property in a stunning location, with lovely views and good spa facilities. The breakfast was also very good and most of the staff were friendly.

The overall service did not meet the standard we would expect from a five-star hotel, especially considering the significant premium we paid. The biggest disappointment was the spa reception service. We were told the previous evening that there was no availability the following morning due to three large groups and a “busy morning”, with no guarantee regarding the lounges. However, when we returned at 11am the next day, there was initially nobody else in the spa and only four guests in total during our 40-minute visit. We were not offered any proactive solution the previous evening and had to suggest the 11am option ourselves.

Stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon and it was brilliant. Wish we had longer there, amazing views, staff really helpful and food and facilities were excellent

We had the most wonderful time at Aghadoe hotel & spa. The room with view lake was amazing both in the room and the view. Staff was very nice and helpful and we managed to have a delightful spa treatment. We loved the little attentions like the walking guide and the chocolate in the evening

The views and the driver who brought us into the town.

The rooms were poor, feathers falling from pillows, crack in bathroom. Not a 5 star hotel.

Spent six nights here with wife while competing in an International orienteering festival. A lovely hotel, that fully justifies its 5* rating (and prices). We had a superb view from our big, well-appointed bedroom. Restaurant food was excellent, once again with lovely views from the tables, a varied menu, and attentive staff. We had a plumbing problem with the toilet cistern during our stay, which could not be fixed immediately, but we were kept fully informed throughout and the issue was resolved as soon as a spare part arrived the next morning. Staff throughout the whole hotel were extremely helpful and attentive. Would happily return.

We loved staying here. The staff is fantastic and always willing to help. Breakfast was great 🙏 Best place we have stayed in a long while... swimming pool was super and we had treatments too.

My wife and I enjoyed a six night stay. We upgraded to one of the Lake View suites and we weren’t disappointed - incredibly beautiful views of the mountains and lakes which changed by the minute. The hospitality was excellent. Les the Guest Relations Manager was very friendly and we enjoyed his insights. Timmy in the bar was impeccably professional and friendly, and was happy to indulge my curiosity in trying various Irish whiskeys. Breakfast was a delight, excellent food and views to match.

Simply put, a phenomenal experience. 10/10. Myself and my (now) wife had our pre-wedding dinner at Aghadoe Heights. From the first visit to the hotel we knew instantly we’d be lucky to have our family dine here. The views were unbelievable from every angle. Beyond picturesque. However the real gem that makes this venue a must for any event or trip is the staff. They are warm, courteous, effortlessly helpful and consummate hosts. None more so than the most professional and genial concierge named Les. We had the incredible fortune to have Les take care of our every wish and desire with this booking and it was such a pleasure to finally deal with someone during the marriage planning process that made things easier, rather than added to the list of concerns, decisions and problems. His grace, enthusiasm and vivacious personality made the whole process a breeze, so much so that at times it almost seemed that he was more interested in making this event a success than we did! Thank you again Les! The food was second to none and the facilities are exquisite. You simply cannot go wrong choosing this hotel. If Killarney is the cake, Aghadoe Heights is the cherry!

Following our recent stay at Aghadoe Heights, we cannot recommend it enough to anyone thinking about staying there. From the moment we arrived to when we left we felt totally welcomed & relaxed. The staff are amazing in all departments. Had food in the bistro bar which was really tasty. Our evening meal in the Lake restaurant was top class and the staff there were professional, knowledgeable of the food they were serving and friendly with a bit of banter thrown in here and there. Needless to say we will return. If possible, when booking , a stay in a lake view room would be recommended. The ever changing landscape is amazing. The Aghadoe is by the far the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. The views are stunning, rooms are beautiful and luxurious, and the service was unmatched. We will absolutely be returning here on our next trip to Ireland!

We celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary in Killarney and stayed during our trip at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel. The views were incredible from the hotel, so beautifuI, I cannot emphasise enough how all the staff made you feel so special in every way. From the Concierge men, reception and restaurant staff, everyone in the hotel were so professional and kind and lovely. Cannot wait to return. Thank you.

Such a lovely afternoon at Aghadoe Heights. The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious. We were given an intro to each course, we really tasted all the different homemade foods. The views over the lakes were stunning and the whole experience was so relaxing and added to our girls day out. A special thank you to our lovely waitress, Maura, who was so warm, friendly and attentive. She really made our visit that little bit more special. We’ll definitely be back!

Everything. The staff re-defined my understanding of “good hospitality’. Even though the hotel is large, you leave it feeling like you stayed in a small boutique hotel. The staff are brilliant. I was there for an engagement proposal, and I felt like all the staff were rooting for my success, from reservations and check in right through to the waitress and waiter in the restaurant. If you’re looking for a proposal venue, this is your only place. But equally, if you want the beauty of Killarney, but the calm and scenic side of it, this is the place to go!

That I couldn’t stay longer, they were fully booked! I now understand why it’s my parents’ favourite hotel.

The views are exceptional, I booked a room overlooking the lake. The breakfast was amazing, great variety. The staff at all places (Restaurant, reception, etc) were very professional, kind, caring.

Wow what a fantastic experience we had in Aghadoe hotel. 2nd time to stay here. From reception Mai to waiters and waitress. Staff were so kind and did everything right. When you even passed the staff in corridor they said hello. Breakfast was scrumptious. Everything was hot from the kitchen. Tea was served in silver tea pots. Brendan took us to Killarney town 2 nights. He is the concierge and a local man. So much information was given. He recommended restaurants and bars. Weather was beautiful which helps.

We loved the quality of the rooms, the view was outstanding you simply cannot visit this place and not get a lake view room. Unfortunately the food quality and inconsistent service over dinner really let it down. For two nights we eat in the upstairs lounge area, food was delivered to two of our part of three leaving the third hungry for 15 minutes, the food was without exception lukewarm, they managed to achieve the skill of undercooking buttered veg (with no butter flavour) and cremating my chicken burger. I’d love to come back and rave about it to my friends but I don’t know if I would risk another mediocre dining experience Breakfast was good quality and varied.

Het uitzicht is ongelooflijk mooi en dé grote troef voor dit hotel. Ligt uit het dorpscentrum en daardoor veel rustiger dan de hotels aan de grote baan in het dorp. Kamers zijn groot en mooi. Lekker ontbijt. Ideale locatie voor de ring of Kerry, Gap of Dunloe.

Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Quiet and tranquil feeling. Loved the little extras of nice water bottles in your room, great bisap and free coffee and cookies to go. A very special place to stay.
