Quiet room with all the amenities. Staff was extremely nice and helpful.
I booked ocean front, but was sent to a 4th floor with obstructed view room. Asked to change room. They did. Much better after.
Everything about the resort was excellent. The staffs are extremely attentive and friendly, and the food at Orchid is great!
ハネムーンで利用しました 景色もサービスも最高でした また是非宿泊したいと思えました
Location ia at center of everything and hotel room size was very good.
The restaurants are disappointed. Pool side restaurant is too hot as it is outdoor premises and foods are not delicious. 2 other top rated restaurants’ food quality are not upto par compared to the prices as I am from NYC and NJ.
とても綺麗で最高に居心地が良かったです。 Hawaiiに来たら絶対泊まりたい。 プール横のビーチではアザラシにも出会えました。

Great location, and the food was great!
Checking in we were not greeted as friendly as the other two customers before us, we found it to be quite odd however we brushed it off. Our rooms AC made some noise throughout the night, but didnt want to report it. Our rooms were made a few times but certain things were missed ( a trash can still full, they left a banana peel and papaya on the dirty plates there for 2 days, but made our beds. The staff was very friendly and kind, which made the stay comfortable.
Everything! Staff are fantastic and it’s very unpretentious
Nothing

Truly truly 5 star hotel. The facilities were clean, the food excellent at all three restaurants, the pool is clean and not overcrowded, lovely guests and good access to the pool and surfing services.
AMAZING as always. I’ll forever have my heart here.
The Halekulani is an oasis of perfection in Hawaii. We booked an ocean view room for our last two nights in Hawaii. What a great decision. We enjoyed our lanai, the superior restaurants, pool/services, spa appointments & location for exploring Honolulu. Superior quality in Hawaii!
Returning to Halekulani is always a pleasure, but this year's visit was unlike any other. Our family gathered from California and Arizona to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday, and from the moment we arrived until the day we reluctantly departed, the Halekulani team made what was already an extraordinary occasion truly unforgettable. Before we even arrived, the hotel graciously honored my request to have our family's rooms located close together—a thoughtful detail that made the entire week feel connected from the very beginning. My mother's room welcomed her with beautiful flowers, birthday gifts, and special amenities, immediately setting the tone for a celebration that felt warm, personal, and heartfelt. What impressed us most was not a single grand gesture, but the remarkable way the entire hotel embraced the occasion. The Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, Orchids, House Without a Key, and every member of the restaurant teams seemed to know they were helping celebrate an important milestone. My mother was greeted with birthday wishes everywhere she went, often by name, and every interaction felt genuine rather than rehearsed. At one point, even another guest stopped to wish her a happy birthday. Somehow, that simple moment captured the spirit of Halekulani perfectly. The property itself remains as elegant and timeless as ever. Our rooms overlooking Diamond Head and the Pacific provided a spectacular setting, while evenings beside the kiawe tree at House Without a Key became the highlight of each day. Listening to Hawaiian music as Kanoe Miller danced through the sunset was unforgettable, made even more meaningful when the musicians remembered my mother's favorite song and dedicated it to her each evening, a moment she looked forward to with great anticipation throughout our stay. Breakfasts at Orchids, the thoughtful turn-down gifts each evening, and the peaceful beauty of the grounds all contributed to an atmosphere that is luxurious without ever feeling pretentious. There are so many people we would like to thank. Justin and Donna at the Front Desk made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Chief Concierge David and his outstanding Team helped with special requests and anticipated every detail with effortless professionalism. Justice and Tom at the pool always seemed to know exactly what we needed before we had to ask. At Orchids, Darlyn greeted us each morning with warmth and kindness, while the team thoughtfully remembered to have a cushion waiting at my mother's chair so she could comfortably enjoy the magnificent view of Diamond Head and the Pacific. At House Without a Key, Lorenzo, Jan, Rage, Melissa, Melony, and their wonderful colleagues made every breakfast, lunch, and sunset dinner feel like dining among friends. Halekulani's famous coconut cake made several memorable appearances during the week, each presentation as beautiful as the last. What began as a thoughtful birthday surprise soon became one of our family's favorite traditions of the celebration, always greeted with smiles, laughter, and eager anticipation. As we prepared to leave, my mother quietly remarked that she wished she could stay another week. I cannot imagine a finer compliment. Beautiful hotels can be found throughout the world. What is far more difficult to find is a hotel where genuine kindness is simply part of the culture. Thanks to the extraordinary people of Halekulani, my mother's 90th birthday became a celebration our family will treasure forever. That is Halekulani's greatest luxury. Until we meet again, mahalo for welcoming our family as though we were part of yours.
Wonderful hotel and staff. Location is ideal to get around to the beach and shops. The hotel is peaceful and the rooms are immaculate. Exceptional pool and guest service. Thanks Yubi, Cenon and Marylin! Can’t wait to be back!
There was always a staff member nearby to answer questions. Room service was very fast and attentive. The pool area was clean, service was good and overall very relaxing.
We had a wonderful experience - great location and service and our room was superb . Shout out to Carlos serving us at the pool, with his great service!!
We waited for a while to get a table in the causal restaurant and eventually gave up and went to a venue down the road. Would be good to know when checking in that guests don’t get priority in using the on site restaurants.
It was very relaxing and comfortable

An upscale boutique hotel with long history on the beach in Waikiki. Central but quiet, immediate access to the beach, and an excellent service.

I analysed every hotel before booking and given the cost I wanted to be sure I’d be happy… wow what an oasis, you are in your own world. Staff were amazing - from Alfredo by the pool, to John and Marisha at breakfast to the lovely check in staff and house keeping they are all so pleasant and courteous. Close to everything but quiet too. Surreal to have experienced such a hotel. Thank you.
We loved our stay here! We stayed for 4 nights for a total of 5 days, and we brought our little ones with us. The thoughtfulness and service provided at this hotel was one of a kind! The staff were very nice and accommodating, and the hotel rooms were clean and spacious. We really enjoyed the oceanfront view and the time spent relaxing at the lanai - hearing the music and the sound of the ocean. The location is amazing, the center of Waikiki and walking distance to the Hawaiian Royal Center. My kiddos enjoyed the pool and miss this hotel already. We can't wait to come back!
Ocean view was spectacular
cost too much
We travelled as a couple and had a recent three night stay at the legendary Halekulani. Elegant, restrained, peaceful, oceanfront property with beautiful views and luxury hospitality. Rooms are large and spacious and extremely comfortable. The staff are warm and welcoming and you can tell many have worked on the property for years. The Mai Tai at the Halekulani exemplifies the heritage of the property, proudly being made the traditional way with plenty of lime and is definitely the best in all of Hawaii. Hawaii is the most magical place and the Halekulani is the perfect hotel to enjoy your time there.
Second stay in three years. Love this place. Very relaxing atmosphere. Very accommodating staff. Nice quiet retreat from the noise of Waikiki. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend
If excellence in all areas is your goal Halekulani is the only place to stay. After 30 plus years it is still the gold standard.
Location is great- close to lots of shopping and restaurants in Waikiki. The hotel is on the ocean but there are no chairs to sit on at the beach because there really isn't an area. The rooms we had were nice and had great air conditioning during the hot and humid weather.
A serene and elegant hotel with marvelous views & protected from the noise and business of Waikiki but close walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. The staff go above and beyond to greet you and offer assistance daily.
Great one week stay . This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. We had no complaints , everything was perfect . We opted out of the breakfast package as it was a bit more reasonable. The pool area was our favourite. We ate dinner at House Without A Key three times and loved it. We also ate dinner at Monkeypod , Yardhouse , Mortons , and Dukes . We cant wait to return again to Halekalani.
We love coming to the Halekulani each year for our anniversary. Mark Miyashiro, is a gem, always makes our guest experience amazing. Your new addition Deni Ohlsen-Dukic as Executive Assistant Manager really steps up the customer relations with the guests, he was very personable and responsive to our needs. Debbie head of housekeeping is always there to say hello, 48 Years at Halekulani!!! Melissa and the staff up front staff are a pleasure. The pool manager Tom and Justice and the gang are always so helpful The pool wait staff Kyle, Alfredo, Carlos, Jill and all the others are just great and always makes our stay so memorable. Jack, David, John and all the rest at "The House Without a Key" are great with our breakfast each morning. It is really a wonderful team and we look forward to next year for our return to the "House Befitting Heaven".

This was our first stay in downtown Waikiki and we were glad we chose the Halekulani. Great service (especially by the pool), good restaurants and a great location. You really are separated from the main, hectic part of Waikiki beach which you can easily get to via a short walk. No issues getting good chairs/locations by the pool although the hotel was far from full when we were there. The beach area is very small (especially at high tide) and you need your room key to enter and exit but it is good enough if you prefer cooling off in the ocean vs the pool.
Halekulani is the finest hotel on Waikiki, and there is no close second. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary, our first stay there being for our 25th. The facilities and accommodations are timeless, an elegant oasis of calm in the frenetic bustle of Waikiki. Attention to detail, and an amazing staff at every level from housekeeping to management render it without peer on Oahu and perhaps in all the islands as well. There are simply not enough superlatives to describe the Halekulani experience. La Mer is our favorite restaurant in the world, and the dining experience there is unlike any other we’ve ever experienced. Halekulani is all about service, and pampering its guests, and in my view, nobody does it better.
Chambre très bien, personnel au petits soins
Prix du valet parking plus cher que la location de la voiture
Hotel was super schoon en netjes! Goed gelegen en alles top verzorgd!
Prijzen in restaurants waren best hoog.
The pool beds and service
The tiny beach area, the inability to have a drink in either bar area as they were full!! The bath towels were too small The hotel is significantly overpriced for what it is
Everything!

It is the peaceful calm that makes this hotel stand out. The staff are very respectful and friendly. Their role is to make your stay as good as it can be.
Our bathroom setup where the shower over bath, not good as we age
We had very high expectations of our stay at the Halekulani. We had eaten here numerous times over the past few years and always had good experiences which had tempted us in to staying at the Hotel on our next visit. The Rates are high and so we did worry whether we should consider the stay good value for money but immediately we arrived our minds were put at rest. Check in was friendly fast and efficient and we were given a lovely room overlooking the pool and Pacific Ocean. The room was clean and comfortable and had a luxury feel. The air conditioning was working well and the bathroom was large and well supplied. Each day House Keeping took care of all the details and we felt very well looked after. We ate in House without a Key multiple times where we thoroughly enjoyed the evening entertainment (and the Mai Tai's) and the Sunday Buffet at Orchids restaurant was as good as we remembered (though a little disappointed the price did not now include a welcome glass of Prosecco though we had booked it before they changed this option. Minor detail though and it did not spoil our experience. The pool staff are very attentive and although a busy hotel there seemed to be enough sun beds each day. The staff generally were very professional and friendly and the entire Hotel felt quiet and relaxed the entire time despite being busy and being in one of the busiest parts of Waikiki. We cannot wait to go back !
We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The housekeeping staff were exceptional — so warm, attentive and professional, they really made our stay feel special. Beautiful atmosphere, lovely facilities and overall a really relaxing experience. Thank you to the team for looking after us so well.
Luxury and quiet accommodation at the heart of Waikiki. Great service, very good cleanliness, friendly personal, pools are nice with chairs always avaialble and a great jazz bar.
Such a wonderful stay at this hotel - words alone cannot describe the beautiful setting and excellent accommodations, much less the food at the restaurants. We will definitely be back as this is the best hotel in the Honolulu area.
Always best experience in Waikiki. The uniquely elegant atmosphere-found only at Halekulani-is simply superb.
My wife and I are full-time Big Island residents. We have been traveling to the various Hawaiian islands for decades and have stayed at all of the best hotels on all of the islands. The Halekulani Hotel is definitely the best hotel in Waikiki and certainly one of the best hotels in the entire state. The accommodations, facilities, service as well as the location are simply outstanding. This hotel truly offers the guest a 5 star experience. For Hawaiian citizens there are even kamaaina discounts.
Twice a year is not enough, is like being in heaven!!🌈⭐️
I don't often say that a Hotel can enhance your stay. Meaning I usually find a quality hotel and assume it will be clean, efficient and provide peaceful sleep. Halekulani goes beyond that. It hits the mark on all the requirements, but it actually provides a peaceful place to stay that balances out the busy Waikiki area. I had never been to Hawaii, so Halekulani turned out to be a great choice. You could do your activity early in the day and then enjoy the pool area and the small beach area it provides. This was a huge plus because the Waikiki beach area is very busy and noisy. The on-site food is great and the House Without a Key is a special experience. The buffet breakfast is outstanding. Enjoy Jazz in the evening at the Lewers Lounge. I loved the fact that you could stay here and feel miles away from Waikiki main drag, but if you wanted to go shopping or get dinner, it was literally just a block away. Its the outcome of the natural location of this hotel on a dead end street, buffered from Waikiki beach by the Sheraton and a jetty. It also turns out that 'Turtle Cove' is just about 200-300 yards straight out from the hotel, so if you are snorkelling person, you could just swim out and do some amazing snorkelling without doing a tour.
Facilities and accommodations are exceptional. Seem to have recently undergone a significant update. The location is great if you want to be in Waikiki. Service and staff are outstanding. Staff helped with a variety of requests, dinner reservations off property, shopping recommendations and shuttle service.
My husband and I stay at the Halekulani often. The peacefulness, attention to detail and restaurants are spectacular.
Not much
I had an upgrade but the automatic blinds didn’t work and the lights didn’t work. Also, when we did turn lights on the Gnatts came as well (small little Insects attracted to the light) so it didn’t end well

Inkompetenz des Personals. Horrende Preise für Neben Leistungen. Nie wieder, reine Abzocke!!!!
This is a legendary resort, probably the third oldest hotel in Waikiki. It is beautifully appointed with excellent facilities, ranging from the spa to the dining facilities. Made service, concierge, front desk, the gentleman at the driveway near the lobby, everyone was so cordial and helpful. The food and service at La Mer and the orchid were outstanding. We had got a couples massage at the spa, which was also excellent.
Great hotel! Nice staff, awesome views, very clean and comfortable. Perfect days!
everything
From now on, this is the only hotel I'll stay at in Honolulu. Hands down, the loveliest experience. Charming room, while not the largest, certainly well appointed and the softest sheets of any hotel I've ever stayed at. State-of-the-art toilets with automatic open/close when you enter and heated seats. The patio furniture has baby socks on the "feet" of the furniture so it does't scrape the surface and make noise. You can't tell from the street, but once you enter the hotel premises, it's very zen. Staff is lovely. Restaurants are nice. Rooms are quiet. Truly a lovely hotel and a lovely guest experience.
The Halekulani is truly one of a kind. What a fabulous property! Every detail is perfection. The facilities, the rooms, the dining, the entertainment, the staff, the location. You name it. Everything we were looking for in a Hawaiian vacation was under one roof. I love that they are a member of Leading Hotels of the World as well. I use that as my guide to pick the best resorts. 10/10. Hope to come back one day!
Do not recommend. There is no beach, there was a homeless person who lived next to the hotel and you could see him during the breakfast. The ocean from room was not the truly oceanfront, it had the obstructed view. The room does not have what is needed to be the 5 stars hotel. There was only one chair inside, no minibar, nothing. A very disappointing experience considering the cost and the expectation. A very unsafe environment considering the dirty homeless watching you every minute when we were near the pool.
Many years ago we could only afford to have fabulous Mai Tai's at the House of the Key at the Halekulani and vowed to stay here someday. After years in Maui, made our way back to Oahu and stayed at the venerable Halekulani. The Mai Tais and music were as perfect as ever and our stay was lovely. In the busy, crowded, hub bud of Waikiki, the Halekulani is a quiet, understated but elegant respite from the noise. Amazing staff, every person, and quiet luxury, classic and timeless. It isn't the blingiest hotel and some of the finishes like the cream bathroom tile are a bit dated, but it doesn't matter. The vibe is soothing and calm and lovely. We had an oceanfront room and it is definitely worth it. The sound of the waves from your lanai and view is perfect. The partial ocean view room our family member had, enjoyed a nice lanai, but our full ocean front view room was the choice if you can swing it. Breakfast in the Orchid Lounge was preferable we found to the buffet. Plenty of food and great choices, from the delicious Japanese breakfast with miso black cod, to the perfectly cooked scrambled eggs in the American breakfast. The only thing that missed was a small thing, the gift shop. We went to look for a small gifts to bring back, but poorly stocked, empty shelves and unappealing. It seems like a small thing they could make curated nicely and serve guests and be good for their bottom line. I had a hair spa service and the spa space, while compact, was redone and very nice too. All in all, I can't think of another hotel I'd want to stay at on Oahu, including other big name luxury brands. The Halekulani is worth it, and sign up for their loyalty program too for some helpful extras.
Beautiful, excellent staff and customer service
We had a wonderful stay at Halekulani. It’s a beautiful property with wonderful staff. The room was very quiet at night and we really enjoyed drinking our coffee each morning on the balcony with a direct view of Diamond Head. The hotel location is also great. It is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach and most importantly away from high crowds.
Excellent service through out our stay. Great restaurants. My wife and I had a fabulous weekend getaway. Highly recommended.

Great location, great service, quieter than the other Waikiki hotels
No jacuzzi!
The Halekulani Hotel is a luxury hotel on the beach in Waikiki. Most hotel rooms are set back a little from the ocean and overlook the pool area with the ocean beyond. But wyou can still easily hear the ocean and can walk to the beach without crossing any streets or public areas. THe beach area for the Halekulani is fairly small, but consequently it is somewhat quieter and more private than the larger beaches on either side of the hotel. The Halekulani facilities and rooms are very nice though not as "over the top" as some luxury hotels we have stayed in. Everything was clean and well-maintained. But what really stood out to us was the high level of service and the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff we encountered. One example of the high level of service was the nightly "turn down" service, which was essentially a second daily housekeeping, with garbage removed, new towels provided, ice bucket filled, and so on. As another, when we mentioned to a housekeeper that we were having trouble drawing the spring-loaded clothesline across the tub, she radioed for maintenance and a gentleman was there to fix the line within minutes. As a third, when the hotel was unable to extend our checkout time due to an incoming reservation, they made a hospitality room available to us where we could stay until it was time for us to head to the airport. And finally, when we wanted to sit in the chaise lounges around the pool (no charge for using these, as there are at some hotels) a staff member ran over to wipe off the dew and stretch a terry cloth cover over the chairs to make them more comfortable in the heat. There were also free cookies and ice water at poolside (along with food and drinks if one wanted to order them). Our room was modern and well-equipped, with a nice balcony and a great view of the ocean. We have had fancier rooms at some hotels, but our room here had all the amenities we needed, including a lovely wide balcony with a table, chairs and chaise. We were provided with fresh water bottles every day along with an assortment of souvenirs, there was an empty refrigerator for our use, bathrobes, slippers, etc. The room was not inexpensive, but then nothing in Waikiki is, expecially around the time of spring break. Some of the best high-end restaurants in Waikiki are also on the premises, but these too are expensive, and we had made reservations at a number of other nearby restaurants instead. However we did regularly avail ourselves of the Halekulani bakery, which is right across the street from the hotel entrance and we recommend it highly. (I tried a salted caramel roll on the first day, despite its nondescript appearance, and ended up having one every day we were there!) It is probably also worth mentioning that the Halekulani Hotel is within walking distance of a large number of restaurants, shopping areas and tourist attractions in Waikiki. Given the high cost of parking at the hotel and in the area, and the difficulty of finding parking spots, we elected not to rent a car for the week, but instead to take an Uber to and from the airport and to walk around town. There are good tours available if you want to see the sights outside of town. But for convenience and cost, I recommend skipping the car rental and relying a little more on one's legs. If we return to the Waikiki area again, I think we would probably want to stay at this same hotel and to skip the car rental once again. It made for a great week for us!

三个餐厅各有千秋,非常不错!退房后,还专门给旅客保留短暂的休息空间,能存储小件行李的储物柜。让我对夏威夷有了更美的感觉。我们还会再来!

Resort is well above other hotels in Waikiki. Service, quality and ambiance is impeccable. Staff are always helpful and polite. It is on the expansive side for Honolulu but worth it. Perfect location, not far from the main strip of restaurants and shopping but enough so you don’t get the noise of the hustle and bustle of that strip.
I booked a king ocean view room but I felt we had a partial ocean view.
The Halekulani isolated at the beginning of Waikiki, so one frequently finds oneself looking down the beach at Diamondhead. It is a calm, wonderful place. The staff is wonderfully attentive. You frequently sit on your balcony, watching a wedding ceremony on the lawn below. Their fancy restaurant La Mer is this Wonderfull multi course extravaganza with excellent wines.
Everything was so perfect! The staff were so kind and welcoming. The atmosphere and facilities were excellent🩵 Dinner at Orchids was stunning, especially with the sunset view🌅
Highly recommend a stay at this beautiful hotel on the beach, which really has it all - amazing views, great amenities, beach access and excellent restaurants. It’s in a great location and we so enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to return.
My wife & I spent another vacation here at The Halekulani. From the moment we arrived at this beautiful hotel, we were warmly greeted and were treated as if we were family. The décor in this hotel is stunning with fresh flowers throughout. This hotel offers a wonderful breakfast at Orchids. Everything was fresh and delicious and the staff are pleasant as well. We had dinner one evening at Le Mer, and it was outstanding with impeccable service! Worthy of a Michelin star. The service both in the hotel and restaurants was very friendly and professional. It is in a great location that is only a short walk from the shopping area. This hotel offers a lovely tour of their property, so if you have time take it. We had Donna one year giving the tour, and she is fantastic. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.
Spectacular hotel. I used to think Ritz and Four Seasons were the very top of the hotel world. Halekulani sets even a higher standard. It is absolutely incredible. The staff is warm, welcoming, helpful and fantastic. The hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are perfect. The Mai Tais are the best we had in Hawaii and probably the best ever. Sitting by the beach in the evening listening to live Hawaiian music with a cocktail is about as good as life gets. The breakfast is absolutely delicious. The pool is serene and plenty of chaise lounges in the sun or shade for all. Absolutely no need to reserve a lounge and if you leave one unattended for a long period of time they will collect the towels. Great service by the pool. Easily walkable to great shops and restaurants but the restaurants at the hotel are amazing. Every aspect of the hotel is an A+. They approach perfection in every category. It was an anniversary vacation with my husband and I. I can’t imagine a better place to have spent it. We didn’t want to leave.
