Loved the people here, and the attempt to host activities. The room was very luxurious.

Loud music for a whole day when nobody shows up to the pool party is a bit weird. And there was construction going on next door, for a party hostel you cant have people start drilling at 6am. Reception promised it wouldnt happen, and then it does, they refunded and apologised after it did, but this is a bit too late then.

Top notch hostel! Probably the best hostel on the island, especially after the renovation. I’ve been here last year for 4 weeks in total and came back this year. The place, the staff and the owners are superb. I will come back for sure!

המקום הכי טוב למי שמטייל לבד בעיניי. עברתי בין הרבה הוסטלים באי וזה היה המקום הכי טוב שמצאתי. הייתי שם שבועיים והיה לי קשה לעזוב. הצוות היה מדהים הם דאגו להכל באותו רגע שביקשתי. יש הרגשת קהילה מאוד נעימה שמהצד השני אם בא לך שקט אתה יכול לחוות גם את זה. ממש נהנתי מהשהות שלי שם! אין לי ספק שאני אחזור לשם! ממש ממש ממליץ.

בזמן השהות שלי שם הם שיפצו חלק מהמקום אז היה רעש מאוד חזק של בנייה כל יום. זה היה ביולי 2026 אז כנראה שאם תגיעו אחרי אוגוסט לא תחוו את הרעש.

De toiletten zijn te laag. Ik ben 1,90m en ik was zat in een diep squad positie op het toilet.

Badkamers waren niet heel hygiënisch ondanks dat ze elke dag schoongemaakt werden.

Clean dorms, great staff, pool and shared spaces great for socialising - daily events and activities helped. Would def recommend for fellow solo travellers

De prive kamers zijn erg fijn, goede badkamer met een redelijk goed bed.

Houd er rekening mee dat er 1x per week een pool party is waardoor je flink veel overlast hebt als je een privé kamer hebt.

Great hostel with amazing private rooms. Staff was amazing! The private room was also recently built so the facilities were absolutely the best compared to everywhere I stayed in the Phils.

The hostel was amazing, awesome staff, clean and very social. Games each night and sometime family dinners. Great for solo travellers to meet others

The social area upstairs was great, liked the pool table always met lots of people there! The bathrooms were cleaned regularly but hot water ran out quick so I suggest showering before the rush. Good kitchen area and shared fridge if needed. Staff were super kind and remembered my name which was thoughtful. The hostel is next to a nice breakfast place called low tide and you can walk to other cafes/ shops, but recommend a scooter.

My room was super cramped as I was placed in the top bunk right next to the door so my locker (underneath the bed) would open and stop people opening the main door or the main door would get opened onto me by accident, so slight problem with room logistics. Wish the bed lamp was adjustable but it just faced down onto my pillow. For the price of the stay I would expect these little things to be though about

Pool was clean, private rooms were gorgeous.

Dorm rooms didn’t have keys or locks on the doors. Toilets never had toilet roll every morning I had to find staff to open storage and give us some.

Very nice, social Hostel with a great pool and nice chilling areas. Bathroom is outside of the rooms and gets cleaned everyday. They also offer many activities and the staff, especially Listher, was so friendly and kind!

the rooms (I was in a 10 dorm) were a bit small (especially if you have a big backpack) but it was still fine

Loved all the different areas around the hostel - upstairs bar and chill areas during the day, beautiful pool area, chill lobby area. Rooms were comfortable, deluxe rooms were nice and spacious (definitely recommend booking over the standard room if you can afford it!). Family dinners were really nice, good way to meet people and good value too (although there's also so many delicious places to eat in Siargao too so lots of options). SUPER nice vegan restaurant across the road. Nice balance of social activities if you're up for it but not pressured if you're not. One of the best hostels I've stayed in, I'd say!

The drawers in the standard rooms were a bit awkwardly placed for what bed you were assigned - if you were in the top bunk, your locker was right by the one below's face! Quite awkward when getting your stuff in the morning if they're still asleep 😂 AC was also really cold and staff had the controls, but I understand it's hard accomodating temperature to lots of different people

Ich hatte ein Privatzimmer und kam sogar noch mal zurück, weil es mir sehr gut gefallen hat. Schönes Zimmer und Bad + Zimmer am Pool. Die Dusche hat einen guten Druck.

Es ist nicht ganz zentral. Mit Tuktuk oder Roller ist man aber sehr schnell im Zentrum.

This hostel is amazing! The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome right away. The rooms are spacious and very clean. There is a great outdoor area with a pool and a convenient space for laundry. The common area is huge, with bean bags, hammocks, a pool table and table tennis. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. There are daily activities, so there is always something going on, but it is still quiet at night. The bathrooms are big and separated by gender, and everything is kept extremely clean.

All in all a great place, I don't have a single complaint.

They have activities every day, so it's really easy to meet people there as a solo traveler. The staff is really nice and friendly, if they can they will help you however you need. When you are there it feels like a big family

The team here are lovely and the rooms are immaculate. Great air conditioning, great internet, nice pool and general atmosphere is really good. Easy to get around from and they have a generator / run on solar so they don’t lose power when the rest of the island does!

Not the hostel’s fault, but hard to sleep at night due to people back from partying and being noisy in the room late at night. Make sure you photograph every scratch on your motorbike if you’re renting one from them as they will check absolute every corner of the bike and will ask you for evidence that any damage was there before

De locatie is ideaal, net wat rustiger gelegen maar nog steeds centraal. Het zwembad is prachtig en precies goed om wat baantjes te trekken en om te ontspannen in het bubbelbad. De sfeer is heel prettig, mede dankzij het vriendelijke en behulpzame personeel. Het beste hostel waar ik ooit verbleven heb.

Ik zou het niet kunnen bedenken. Dat ik mijn boeking niet kon verlengen omdat er geen beschikbaarheid was..

Pool fantastic, upstairs has a pool table, darts and ping pong. Best hostel in phillipines. Lester is a legend and will always make sure you have a red horse in hand.

Er hing een erg muffige lucht in de kamer. Het water uit de douche rook ook niet lekker, maar dat is volgensmij overal in siargao.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und der Pool aussergewöhnlich gut. Das Personal ist unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit. Das Hostel organisiert täglich Aktivitäten, an welchen man teilnehmen kann.

Das Hostel ist ziemlich auf Party ausgelegt. Das muss man mögen, da die Gäste jeweils alle erst am Morgen früh nach Hause kommen. Da man sehr viel Privatsfähre im Mehrbettzimmer Bett hat, lädt es ein, die Nacht zu zweit im Dorm zu verbringen, was störend ist für andere Gäste. Ausserdem sind die Matratzen extrem durchgelegen und unbequem.

Das Bad und die Poolanlage sind schön.

Beim Rollerverleih probieren die Angestellten einen über den Tisch zu ziehen. Es wurden Kratzer gesucht und ein Gast hatte ebenfalls die gleiche Erfahrung an der Rezeption. Zudem ging unser Privatzimmer nicht zu, wir konnten sie nicht verschließen. Es hieße bei Ankunft, dass es repariert wird. Es wurde nie repariert. Somit war unser Privatzimmer immer offen.

Locatie was uitstekend

Geen opmerkingen, heerlijk zwembad en personeel wat heel vriendelijk is.

A really great hostel with very friendly staff who make an effort to learn everyone’s names from the beginning and often check in on how you’re doing and what your plans are. The atmosphere is social, and there are lots of nice people staying there. The common area is great, with a pool table, ping-pong table and darts. There’s also a beautiful pool with sunbeds. You can easily go out and party with people from the hostel in the evenings, but it gets very quiet around 10 PM, so you can still sleep well.

The AC didn’t work during the first two nights because of the typhoon, but that wasn’t the hostel’s fault and they tried to repair it as quickly as possible. Also, there are two dorms with better beds and more space, while one of the dorms (Room 5) feels a bit cramped.

Location wise it was pretty perfect! Quick tuk tuk or scooter ride to cloud 9 and all the other surf spots.

It’s a hostel so it’s quite loud, also they left the air con blasting all night that I started to get sick and needed to wear a sweater to sleep. The towels are also quite gross tbh.

Kamers zijn erg klein, ze lijken veel groter op de foto’s. Er zijn kamers met 10 bedden, maar er is ongeveer plek voor maar 5 backpacks.. Airco staat snachts erg hoog (automatisch). Helaas zijn er geen dekens, enkel lakens. Het huren van een scooter is duurder dan op de meeste andere plekken.

Estupenda opción cuando viajas solo. Hostal súper sociable con buena vibra. El equilibrio perfecto entre planes y tranquilidad.

I stayed in the private rooms and it was one of the very few places in the philippines that had no mold in the aircon nor anywhere else in the room. Comfy bed and well renovated bathroom.

Get a dehumidifier so the rooms stay as mold free and clean as they are now.

Leider entsprach unser Zimmer nicht dem, was auf den Bildern gezeigt wurde. Wir hatten einen großen fast leeren Raum, an den "weißen" Wänden waren überall Flecken, ansonsten stand lieblos ein Bett darin und ein Sitzsack. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte die erste Nacht nicht, beim Einchecken wurden wir leider nicht darauf hingewiesen! Im Raum stand noch ein Entfeuchter, dieser hat sehr schlecht gerochen! Die Bäder waren sehr sauber!

I stayed at Sunlit for 1,5 weeks and had a great time! I extended my stay once. I stayed in a dorm but my friends (a couple) stayed in a private room. The dorm beds were nice. I enjoyed having a privacy curtain, a small shelf and a plug next to my bed, and the beds were comfortable. The staff were super friendly and actively invited people to the hostel's events (family dinner, pool party, pingpong tournament - all really fun!). I also appreciated that whilst the hostel has a social vibe, it's very chill and not a party hostel. It always got quiet around 10 PM but you can definitely find people to go out with. This is a good place for those who enjoy the social aspect of hostels but also appreciate a good night sleep haha! The pool was super nice and upstairs they had a hangout area, which was nice for chilling, getting work done, and playing different games. They also have a bar upstairs that serves beer (it closes at 10 PM too). There's also a common kitchen and free drinking water available. They have scooter rentals at a fair price as well. The location is tucked away from the main spots which is nice because of the quiet, but it's not very walkable. However, I would recommend renting a scooter in Siargao anyway since it makes it much easier to get around, but there are tuktuks available at a super cheap price just outside the hostel if you can't drive. I do think the location is great if you have a scooter :)

It got a bit cold in the dorms during nights. I did get a second sheet/blanket upon asking but they normally only provide one sheet for guests. Just something to note if you get cold easily when you sleep.

Nadat er iets niet goed ging met de boeking bij mijn andere verblijf. Heb ik gelukkig op het laatste moment hier nog een slaapplek kunnen regelen. De sfeer die hier gecreëerd wordt door het personeel voelde ik me meteen helemaal thuis. Super fijn en comfortabel! Het zwembad was ook zeker een hele mooie bijkomstigheid. Kan niet anders dan hiervoor de volle 10 punten te geven.
