The beds were very comfortable. The gym was amazing, had a nice washer and dryer. $2 each load really nice. Ice machine snack vending machine drink machine. A very nice games.

The pillows were very uncomfortable The restaurant was not open like expected. As for many hours Not a lot of beverages or snacks to choose from.

The hotel is very outdated and the rooms have a damp smell to them.

Found a cockroach in the bathroom.

The restaurant staff were very pleasant.

Not enough towels. No conditioner. Hot tub not working seems to be a lot of new immigrants hanging about the property. Not a good look when there are families staying with small children.

My family walked into our room and were taken aback by the smell of smoke, flies, and hair on a pillow. We turned around and left the hotel. It has been impossible to speak with staff since as we have attempted to gain a refund. Calls to managers have gone unanswered. Corporate at Booking.com and BW say they cannot help. Avoid.

There were a few things, that were inconvenient at the time , such as the key maker being broken so the staff were helpful

This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have ever experienced. I chose this hotel expecting a comfortable and relaxing stay, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. The property is in desperate need of a full renovation and proper maintenance. The only positive aspect of my stay was the staff. They were polite, friendly, and tried their best, but unfortunately, they cannot make up for the terrible condition of the hotel. The room was in very poor shape. The walls looked extremely old, with wallpaper peeling off in several places. The lighting was so dim that the room felt gloomy and uncomfortable, making it difficult to see properly, especially at night. The carpets were absolutely filthy, with what appeared to be vomit stains in multiple areas. There was also a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the room that never went away. The bathroom was incredibly small and felt unsafe to use. The bathroom door barely opened or closed properly, which was frustrating. To make matters worse, the bathroom fixtures were clearly worn out—the covers on the faucet handles were cracked and falling apart, showing just how neglected the room has become. Sleeping was nearly impossible because the air conditioner did not work properly. Instead of maintaining a comfortable temperature, the fan kept shutting off throughout the night, causing the room to become warm and forcing me to wake up repeatedly. After paying for a hotel room, I expected a good night’s sleep, but that simply didn’t happen. I was also surprised that there was no complimentary drinking water provided in the room, which is a basic amenity offered by many hotels. The breakfast was acceptable but very mediocre. While the food itself tasted fine, there was very little variety, and the selection was disappointing. There were no hot breakfast options available, making the meal feel incomplete and far below what I expected from a hotel.

Currently under construction and no where during booking did it tell you that. Our floor was a construction mess; drywall mud all over the hallway floor, drywall dust everywhere...etc. Hotel is outdated and poorly laid out.

I wasn't happy that I wasn't able to take a bottle of the shampoo and body wash home as the desk clerk was ki d of rude about. I was so willing to pay for it but was rudely told no.

Location to highway was perfect

Not the property’s fault but there were kids running around the hallway until 1am. Kept us awake.

Close to where we needed to go and to hwy 403. Had fish and chips for dinner, very good.

Hard ridge on left side of bed. Sliding door to balcony very hard to open. Breakfast fine but buffet food lukewarm. Elevator broken.

It was located by the highway and the breakfast was very good. Ìt was very clean and the decorating was very modern.

- big clock in pool area was not at the right time, which made us late for funeral one of us was the pallbearer! We were not happy! -room choice by the highway Instead of more quiet area even if hotel was barely full -Floors in my room were very sandy everywhere -i had not brought any shampoo nor conditioner nor soap, i usually do. Got in shower no soap no conditioner, didn’t look my best that day for funeral -there was something like plastic in scrambled eggs -guy beside my room, was fighting early early morning and using cussing words woke me up and i got scared if the banging -dog on other side of room barked several times

The pool

Sparking outlet next to my bed. Then mad to feel stupid for plugging in my iphone charger that only has two prongs because outlets have 3. Than asked to plug in my iphone into a faulty socket so the could see the sparks for themselves. I throw a fit because why would i risk a $2000 iphone so they can see sparks. I got upset left saying i was checking out. The maintenance man and manager than proceeded to talk about while being roughly 20 ft behind me so i got even moree mad turned around and I said just because I’m disabled does not mean I’m retarded you shouldn’t be talking about me like I can’t hear you. Then I was told repeatedly to calm down by the manager like that was gonna work and telling me that the maintenance man didn’t have any customer service skills, but this manager’s customer service skills were calmed down. We didn’t tell you we wouldn’t give you anything. I literally told him I don’t want anything at this point I want to leave. And I told him that if this company didn’t want to make it better that his boss could reach out to me because I did not want to speak to him. Well that was yesterday when I checked out and I still have not heard from them surprise surprise.

The room smelled weird and the air conditioner was very loud so we didn't get a good night's sleep. Overall I think the rooms need to be renovated. There could also be better lighting in the room. The passage way also smelled.

Room was clean & comfortable had coffee and tea which is nice.

No Kleenex in the room. No shower barrier at the bottom for the walk in shower so water was all over the bathroom floor

The hot tub was closed, the pool was dirty. My wife has worked in the aquatic industry all her career and she said the pool was disgusting. The water was so murky you couldn't see the bottom of the pool. The A/C was very noisy. The food for the breakfast buffet was gross.

It was a great location and close to everything I needed to be at or get to. The staff was very polite and awesome when I had some concerns.

I'm thinking in the future like some other hotels hockey teams or big groups should sign a waiver no excess noise after 10pm. Being up from 5 a.m. plus travel and getting to my room at 1030pm to be up and out by 7 a.m. it wasn't ideal to have a parking lot and room under me of screaming kids keeping myself and my 2 kids up who have competitions today and needed rest. But the staff was amazing when I called down it was just the guests themselves who weren't gracious about others.

The pool is OK, old but nice.

The breakfast is very basic, the washroom is very small and not comfortable, there was an unpleasant smell in the room.

Pool area can be busy and it's on the smaller side but for the price not a deal breaker. Balcony rooms in winter can be drafty, so make sure to avoid that in winter.

The hotel booked a block of children for a local dance competition right beside the honeymoon jacuzzi suites….. our jacuzzi was running and at 10:45 we got a noise complaint…. After spending the evening listening to kids running up and down the hallway. We tolerated the commotion, but paying for a fireplace, jacuzzi honeymoon suite… we should not be worried about disturbing the children in the adjoining room. Romantic getaways and children’s dance groups should not be booked in adjoining rooms. This mismanagement leaves booth groups frustrated and upset. If you’re looking for a fireplace/jacuzzi room.. be aware that the “fireplace” is for show only. Do not advertise what does not exist.

Hot tub. Rooms ok.

There was no heat in the room. Controls on heater dont work and hotel keeps daily temp too low to enjoy stay. There was no shampoo or body wash and i asked front desk to fill it on 2nd day. They did not fill containers. Restaurant was understaffed. Obviously hotel is cost cutting but it is too extreme to provide adequate service.

At check-in Varsha ran my credit card three separate times claiming there was a problem. I just wanted to relax in our room and complied expecting the issue would be resolved that night. Our room was in the East wing, which was an L shaped walk from reception to the room near the pool. We learned that our fireplace was not functional when we tried to turn it on, and Joanne Brooks, General Manager must be fully aware by now that the rooms in the East wing have non‑functioning fireplaces and the rooms are in poor, worn, dirty condition. The fireplaces continue to be listed as an amenity on their website in the East wing, which is misleading to customers and was not indicated at time of booking which is what was claimed we were told at reception. We doubt this is the first complaint, and it appears the fireplace photo for these rooms are actually from the Gretzky wing. We were provided an adjusted the rate and bonus points for the non‑functioning fireplace. The accounting team did not address the triple charge on my credit card, which I only discovered after I returned home on Sunday. I expected this was resolved on the day we departed. This reduced my available credit and caused both inconvenience and embarrassment when my card was declined at another point of sale, forcing me to use a different card. This card has a deliberately low limit, so their error had a direct and avoidable impact on me that should have been resolved on the day of check-in. Besides the one on the door, we did not see one NO SMOKING sign in the room next to the detectors as is the norm in other hotels in Canada. This would contribute to the evidence of smoking of cigarettes and marijuana observed from the hallways at various times of day. There are only heat detectors wired to the alarm system. The battery operated smoke/CO detectors can easily be pulled from the wall allowing smoking to go undetected. This is a loophole in Ontario law according to the Brantford Fire Department. We have stayed in the past at the other three major chains in Brantford, and all of these hotels are much newer and cleaner. We have never complained about these hotels as their standards appear higher despite being a budget offering. I can say at least the bathroom is clean though the door makes it hard to get in and out of the room. The pool area had a Grade B rating for the spa earlier that week when inspected by the Grand Erie health department. Everyone raves about the Gretzky wing, and there is no way we would ever stay in the East wing again unless it is fully renovated. The rooms in the East wing are dated and dirty, worn couch and wing chair. I could only plug in to one outlet in the table lamp on the desk as the other lamps in the room did not have outlets. How do you charge more than one cell phone? I was worried about what my wife would say, and she was not very happy with the whole situation and frankly regrets ever choosing Best Western Brantford, and blames me for this poor choice. As compensation for the triple charge, we were offered a discounted rate but Sanesh never disclosed what that discount would be. We won't make the mistake of paying good money only to be disappointed again. The silver lining is that breakfast at Myra's was adequate, and on par with the other hotel chains. I feel bad for not tipping the staff, they were very polite and responsive. Understandably, we were unhappy with the stay.

We had a lovely time at the Best Western in Brantford, Ontario! Our room was rather spacious, had a fireplace, and the bed was comfortable. I loved the generous amount of shampoo and conditioner in the shower. All the hotel staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The hotel's breakfast was nice and lots of parking spaces were open on our side of the building while we were there.

Pool wasn’t clean. Hot tub wasn’t clean had tons of hair and other stuff. Hot tub was broken. For the money the king suite was run down and dirty. Bathroom was dirty, shower head sprayed water everywhere but straight and definitely needed some clean to clean it.

Front desk person was very unfriendly. Not welcoming at all. He seemed impatient and grouchy. Also the mattress NEEDS to be changed. Uncomfortable and it had a sour smell. The woman who was running the breakfast was alone and run off her feet. She had no help.

Front staff was very friendly & welcoming and made the check-in process quick and easy.

Fire alarms went off in the middle of the night. We evacuated the building, but there was no communication on what happened. With that being said .. We would still stay here again. :)

The staff were the most friendly people i've encountered at any hotel in all of canada so far... would stay there any time. I'm relocated to the area and the waitstaff in the breakfast spot absolutely made me feel like home. So much brilliant conversation about the area and the best places to be... LOVE THOSE WOMEN!

The only negative i can say is that when i was there so were many many children's hockey teams and while i love seeing kids enjoy life and have fun... perhaps some control over the ever lasting hallway hockey game would have been prudent as the game nearly took out my sister with mobility issues.

Overall, my stay was quite pleasant, aside from a few minor issues. I did encounter some ants in the bathroom, but that was manageable. However, I was taken aback by a call from the front desk regarding my emotional support dog. Although we have provided the necessary certificates in the past, it seemed there was a mix-up, as they forgot to note it on my reservation. The abrupt nature of the call caught me off guard, especially since this was a complimentary night and we book an extra night with that ,following a previous reservation. During that earlier stay, we had already changed rooms multiple times, so I found it surprising that this issue arose. On the day of our departure, we requested an extended checkout, and the same staff member told me he would call back. When he did return, he mentioned we couldn't extend our stay. I asked for his name, but he declined to provide it. After concluding that conversation, he called me back about 15 minutes later to offer either a 1:00 or 1:30 checkout time, which I found to be somewhat unusual. Regarding breakfast, it could have been warmer and better stocked, but it was acceptable overall. Thank you for your attention to these matters, and I appreciate my overall experience at your establishment.

Stayed there 4 times this year. Money always came off my visa debit card. Went to check in 5pm CHRISTMAS EVE!!!! With my booking and the guy wouldn't check me in because I didnt have a credit card....never have yet somehow I've stayed there 4 times this year including the hot tub jacuzzi suite room. Never again. Absolutely so not acceptable.

The check-in was very easy as I did it on line - easy to navigate. Once arrived, everything was ready at the front desk. Upon entering the room, it was very spacious, 2 queen size beds, and the room and linens and bedding were all very clean.

Breakfast was decent location was good and the room was nice.

The hotel was fine and the facilities were fine. The hotel night manager spied on us and followed me around which in turn made us check out early

The pool was freezing cold could not swim even though it says it's a heated pool..I had a pet friendly room which I payed to have my small poodle there and I got call during my wedding that my dog was barking and my husband had to leave our wedding to go and pick up the dog and when he got there she was not barking..had lots of pet friendly rooms and never had this happen before..very upsetting as we don't live in brantford

Was pretty clean the bathtub wall was a bit gross there was a bug on the bed but not a bed bug problay just a random bug and one in the bathroom too that turned us off the hotel a little. The hot tub didn’t work which was a bit upsettting since we picked the hotel for that purpose . But other wise it was ok. It was loud at night someone was banging on a door yelling let me in the room and that was not pleasant .

Guests were smoking on patios making the area in front of the hotel, the courtyard, and main floor hallway smell of smoke. We requested to be moved away from first floor area due to the strong hallway smell. There was no on site security overnight like most locations we stay at. The neighbours were very loud and we had to call police after hours of disturbances.
