Beautiful hotel in a great location. The service was wonderful, breakfast and enjoying a drink at the bar were both fantastic.

Great location and wonderful staff
Excellent location in historic buildings but with spacious rooms. Staff were very professional and obviously well - trained. Beds and furniture were comfortable and the A/C functioned well in the heat wave. We also had a very large private terrace that we spent evenings and early mornings on.
My partner did not like the dated appearance of the furniture and fittings but that did not bother me — location and cleanliness more than compensated for me.
Authentique, bien situé, bon petit dejeuner

Staff were great. Hotel still beautiful and well maintained. Good parking and lovely breakfast

Very good hotel in the centre of Beaune. The hotel has got lots of history and the atmosphere and decorations are exceptional and throw you back in the 1600s. King Louis XIV stayed at the hotel for 4 nights during is reign. The rooms are very good, the double were a bit small but the suite are very nice. Breakfast was really good. Also they have a car park (at a small cost) which is really good considering the location Highly recommended
Tout était très bien
Ottima colazione.

Fantastic central location . Lovely period property. Kindly gave us an upgrade . Lovely breakfast
The pillows on the bed were a bit too firm for me . There was a bolster which I find hard to sleep on
Location excellent.
Toilet was minute ( I am not a large man). Didn't have breakfast at the hotel as charge of 26 euros pp ridiculous.
My husband and I have been to Beaune before but this time we wanted to stay a couple nights right in the center to experience the city longer. Beaune is special and Hotel Le Cep pairs beautifully with this special place. The hotel itself is so charming, unique & beautiful but the staff is amazing. They accommodated us with the little things that truly matter and make your stay memorable. From bringing shopping bag to our room without asking to organizing a wine tasting prior to our checkout but also extending our checkout to match the wine tasting. This was also done without asking. The bartender was lovely & the hotel Sommalier Sebastian was a lovely man. We learned a lot about the hotel from him and his wine education & tasting in the hotel cellar was truly enjoyable. The breakfast in the outdoor courtyard was so lovely too. A really romantic and peaceful setting. There was one younger female server 5not very friendly) who clearly didn’t know how to make a cappuccino (was serving it cold with barely any foam & also a surrounding table was telling her their coffee was cold). She was definitely the exception but thankfully a different fellow showed up and made us these beautiful hot cappuccinos. So beautiful I took a photograph. We will certainly return to hotel Le CEP and are grateful for the experience we had and enjoyed the staff immensely!
Ideal hotel to explore the Beaune area. The whole staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel is very comfortable. The hotel helped us to organise two half days visits to wine yards.
the best location in Beaune, by far. The hotel is slightly dated but the service ( and parking) make it the perfect bolthole for exploring the region.
Where to start? The incredibly loud and ineffective air conditioning, which clicked on and off all night despite the thermostat being set to 5°C? The truly awful bathroom fixtures, which appear not to have been updated since the 1980s? (The hairdryer belongs in a one-star Travelodge.) The attitude of most of the reception staff, who often didn’t even bother to greet us? The constant slamming of doors by housekeeping staff, throughout the afternoon, on both days? Housekeeping not bothering to replace empty water bottles? Lumpy pillows filled with what felt like cubes of old foam? Even the PLASTIC flowers in the corridors have wilted. And if you’re going to make a feature of having an Ayurvedic centre on site, why not carry some of that philosophy through to the bedrooms? Instead, the bathrooms have cheap little plastic bottles of toiletries, which were replaced every day even when only partially used — presumably with the remainder simply discarded. It feels completely at odds with the wellness and sustainability message the hotel is trying to project. Perhaps if some of the money spent on gimmicky room tablets, illuminated maps and an F1 simulator were instead invested in decent bathrooms, effective air conditioning, comfortable pillows and modern electrics, this might feel more like the five-star hotel it claims to be. Instead, you can bank on standing in a bathtub to shower, lighting that belongs in the 1980s, sockets from another century, no useful modern charging points, terrible WiFi and, far too often, surly and uninterested staff who seem happier standing around gossiping than engaging with guests. The bar was another bizarre experience. Seven of the nine cocktails we tried to order — from the hotel’s own cocktail menu — were unavailable because they didn’t have the ingredients. To be fair, when we finally found cocktails they *could* make, they were made very well. And whatever you do, avoid Room 306 unless you enjoy hotel staff constantly going in and out of the room next door and slamming the door so hard it shakes the building. This went on for hours during the afternoon. There was one genuinely lovely five-star moment. When we checked out, a member of staff noticed that I was struggling to arrange a taxi and immediately offered to drive us to the station himself. It was thoughtful, spontaneous and exactly the sort of hospitality I would expect from a hotel at this level. Sadly, it stood out precisely because so little else about the service felt that way. Historic and characterful does not have to mean dated, poorly maintained or uncomfortable. Beautiful old hotels can retain all their charm while providing excellent bathrooms, modern essentials and exceptional service. This is not, in my experience, a five-star establishment. It’s a 3.5-star hotel with five-star gimmicks. And, rather fittingly, even the post-stay survey they sent asking for feedback didn’t work.
Location, style of hotel and setting was lovely.
Mould on the bathroom ceiling.
Location, unique family property full of character, nice staff, breakfast good
Spa too busy Decor tired, carpets old, paint job needed Air con units old and noisy
Our stay here was absolutely amazing! From the moment that we arrived, staff were amazing, coming outside to help us with bags and parking. The parking here is inside the hotel, even with charging for electric cars, which was super convenient. The staff were all very helpful and every single request was satisfied! The atmosphere is very cosy and warm with a homely style and the building is picturesque! The rooms were spacious, clean and had amazing complimentary water and snacks. The spa and wellness centre felt like an experience that was set up just for us, with the massages being super comfortable and pleasant and the complimentary cosmetics line had an amazing fragrance and feel on the skin. None of the hotel areas were overcrowded, which was amazing as lots of resorts tend to have many many people. The town is a quiet gem and this hotel was one of our favorite places to stay at this holiday!
The hotel and the staff are lovely. The sommelier is excellent.
The aircon was very noisy
Great location in Beaune. Felt very up market and a very high standard. The breakfast offer and quality was exceptional. Above all the attentiveness of the team at your hotel was of the highest standard. We will definitely visit again and bring other family members with us. Thank you for our lovely stay.
First class hotel … one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. Great breakfast offering, valet parking, beautiful manners of your lovely team.

Service Staff
We had a lovely two night stay at Hotel Le Cep. The hotel is in a great location in the heart of the town. The staff were polite and attentive throughout our visit. We would happily recommend it for a comfortable and convenient stay.
We spent two nights at Hôtel Le Cep and really enjoyed our stay. What makes this hotel special is that it is not really one hotel at all, but a collection of historic houses joined together over decades. The result is a unique and characterful property that feels more like staying in a private Burgundian residence than in a traditional luxury hotel. From arrival onwards, service was excellent. The staff handled our luggage and parking, reception was always available, and everyone was welcoming and professional. The location is perfect, right in the historic centre of Beaune and within walking distance of the Hospices de Beaune, restaurants and wine bars. We stayed in the Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Suite, which was spacious, quiet and full of character, with exposed beams, a large bathroom and a private terrace overlooking the rooftops. The bed was very comfortable and housekeeping was impeccable. Breakfast in the historic courtyard was a highlight. Quality local products, made-to-order eggs and attentive service made for a relaxed start to the day. We also enjoyed dinner at Loiseau des Vignes, where the food was excellent and the Burgundy wine selection by the glass was a major attraction. The hotel's historic layout is part of its charm, with courtyards, salons, staircases and hidden corners everywhere. Wine lovers will appreciate the tasting cellar, while the spa and wellness facilities add another dimension to the stay. Pros: Exceptional location in central Beaune Unique historic character and architecture Spacious, comfortable rooms Excellent service throughout Outstanding wine focus and tasting opportunities Very good breakfast Michelin Guide restaurant on-site Beautiful courtyards and lounges Cons: Air conditioning struggled during very hot weather Historic layout means lots of stairs and corridors Some guests may find the design eclectic rather than cohesive Hôtel Le Cep is one of the most distinctive hotels in Burgundy. If you enjoy history, wine and characterful hotels with a strong sense of place, it is hard to imagine a better base for exploring Beaune and the Côte d'Or. Read the full review on our website.
Posizione magnifica. Struttura molto bella
Location is great. Close to everything. Service is excellent. Each staff member was so nice, kind and welcoming, especially Emma, Gregory and Daniele. Breakfast is great. The only thing is the rooms and overall hotel need some updating.
Super Service!
Excellent hotel in a great location right in the centre of Beaune. Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and you can eat up to noon. Good restaurant in hotel and for our second night we took their recommendation and had a good meal at the le cheval noir, a few minutes walk away
Our stay at Hotel Le Cep in the beautiful town of Beaune was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they even helped arrange reservations at local restaurants and our transportation back to Paris, which made our trip so much easier. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and felt truly luxurious. The food and beverage service was outstanding, and every interaction with the staff was exceptional. The hotel's location was another big plus, located within easy walking distance of Beaune's wonderful shops, restaurants, and charming streets, making it the perfect base for exploring the town. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would gladly stay at Hotel Le Cep again. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Beaune!
No breakfast taken as it was expensive option. Lovely old building with many period features and furniture. Cigar lounge and spa were highlights

The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. We drove to the door where our bags were immediately taken and our car was parked for us . The receptionist took a lot of time marking places on a map of Beaune. The hotel was full of beautiful areas to explore, including a beautiful courtyard and garden where we had our breakfast, one of the best I have had. Our room was extremely spacious. There was a hotel spa but we also had our own spa in our bathroom - a sauna, steam shower and jacuzzi bath. The beds were extremely comfortable with sumptuous mattress toppers. A wonderful, quirky hotel full of character, in a beautiful town, what more could you ask for!
Sehr freundlich, sehr komfortabel, Hat alles gepasst 👍
Sehr guter Service
Hotel Le CEP is a charming hotel with a baroque style architecture.
The location is superb The decoration very cosy Big room
The air conditioning was not fully working. I have to admit that it was during a heat wave week
We stayed at Hotel Le CEP for three nights. The hotel is very charming with an old world feel. The rooms were comfortable and It was also centrally located.
Hotel and service were great. This a solid 4 star. We were there during a heat wave and the AC never truly cooled the room down. That made the experience less than desirable.
The staff was superb. Attentive, cheerful and enthusiastic. Even with temperatures above 40c! The room and the property were delightful. It felt quaint, luxurious and unique while still be full of services and experiences. Walking around the property was and experience, with something new, or historic, or antique around each corner. Bonus: Air conditioning worked wonderfully! Enjoyed handing at the beautiful bar with our bartender, whose name changed frequently and always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye. On top of that, Le Cep is located in the fantastic city of Beaune!

Staff. Breakfast. Ambience
Extra tax for the day we checked out- having already paid for the day we arrived I think that’s a bit ridiculous given we were checking out!
Lovely building, nice reception and relaxing lounges, bed room very nice , staff and service was very good, great location too.
Breakfast wasn’t as good as some we have stayed at before in Beaune, less choice, too much cake but that probably because us British don’t eat cake for breakfast !!
Superb hotel, excellent location, wonderful and very helpful staff who made us feel very welcome and looked after us really well.
This is a very expensive hotel. It did not get close to its 5 star rating and we could not see why it is an SLH. Our room was relatively large but very tired. It was not chic. The fittings and furniture were damaged and dirty and looked cheap. It was not possible to have a bath as the flow of water into the bath was so slow and the leaking from the plug ensured that the bath did not fill. I mentioned this to the staff on departure and was offered 1 day’s parking free despite us staying 2 days. The breakfast buffet was fine. Essentially a standard cold buffet with the offer of cooked eggs. But no wider offering of cooked food. Staff were friendly and location good.
Location of the hotel was perfect, as everything was within walking distance. The breakfast in the courtyard was lovely. All the staff were attentive and genuinely friendly. One small area of improvement is that both showers in our bathrooms did not rest in their holder and so we had to hold the shower in one hand and wash hair with the other. Small issue overall. It’s not a luxury 5 star if that’s what you are after as it’s an old quirky building. Beautiful nonetheless.
Turn down service dissapointing Towels replaced Bed covers etc left is with no attention It was the same outcome each night … the staff need to be told or trained or is this the normal approach now not to remake and tidy the appearance of gve bed ? This is why I rated very good not excellent because I have very high expectations of Le Cep after 20 years Massage in the spa and the service there was fantastic … the manager is very efficient . She is very competent.
Outstanding- service is incredible. Our 2nd visit
A great hotel with wonderful staff! Great food, great wine!!
Excellence.. Service was impeccable. Rooms big and location was right in middle of town.
Excellent hotel in the heart of Beaune. Went for a wine trip and this hotel was ideal.
It’s a lovely hotel with lovely staff in a perfect location. Nothing but the best thing to say about this experience. We enjoyed our room especially! It was very comfortable and quiet. You won’t regret staying at the quality hotel. Beaune is a wonderful gem to explore. Add it on to any trip you have in France.

Furniture could stand a refresh
Good hotel with central location
Wonderful breakfast in lovely patio. They will make you coffees and eggs to order, along with amazing pasteries, smoked salmon, cheeses, fruit, etc. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is quiet and beds are comfortable. They park your car for you. Convenient location to walk around lovely Beaune.
The air conditioning is not very cold.
Our stay here did not disappoint, the room was very nice and spacious with comfortable beds. The breakfast had great choice and cooked options you could order also. The staff were outstanding in particular Adrien and Hicham, they made our stay exceptional. Thank you we will thoroughly recommend to stay at this hotel for great location and quiet as other hotels can be noisy at night.
Delightful stay. Lovely breakfast in the courtyard. Unique decor
Le Cep is excellent. Beautiful room, lovely breakfast, great location and excellent service. The front desk enthusiastically helped with all of our planning needs (wineries, restaurants, sights).
Sehr gute Lage.
Beautifully appointed and furnished. Great location.
I have no idea why this is rated a 5☆hotel. When we arrived the car park (pre booked) was rammed. When we checked in it was as if a cruise ship has just arrived. Chaos in reception and indifferent staff. Eventually we were showed to our room which was decorated in 'traditional' style. Apparently the restaurant was full and unable to accommodate us (it's a franchise). Reception booked us a 'traditional ' restaurant nearby, which turned out to be a burger joint. After much complaining a better restaurant was booked (which was lovely) but we were 'lucky, as it was Saturday night'. There are several better hotels in Beaune, all with much better restaurants. Book wisely !
Breakfast was good and various items, including off-menu options. The hotel is old, as you can imagine, but has been kept up quite well. The room we stayed in was excellent, large, and very comfortable. Charming and historical. The wine cave was exceptional, and so was the private dinner with Leo! Food and wine paired perfectly, and the best snails I ever had. So good, you could literally eat the shells (and we did). You must use the private cigar lounge! The location to shopping, other restaurants, and the Beanue Hospital was within minutes walking distance. The spa was great and private.
Frankly nothing- other than the hotel had a bit of an old aroma.

very nice Place with a fantastic athmosphere. Very well located and super friendly staff

Ligging uitstekend
Redelijk gedateerd
The location was great. It was very convenient and walkable to shops, restaurants, and wineries.
It was not well maintained. Furniture was worn and a bit tattered. We had to move rooms after 1 night due to a broken and unfixable door lock. There was not anything that made you feel like you were staying in a “luxury” hotel.
The suite was roomy and elegant. Big and very comfortable bed. Big bathroom with large bathtub. Staff hospitable and service oriented. Also had lunch @ LOISEAU DES VIGNES restaurant under its management I believe. Very good. See separate review.
Luxurious and relaxed, whilst being in the city centre
Nothing
This is a great hotel with loads of character, excellent staff and a nice mix of facilities in a quiet area right in the centre of the city. The layout is not straightforward but the staff make everything seamless. The secure level parking is in a courtyard (of course). Lots of nearby dining options.
A very warm welcome All the staff were super helpful A real delight
Beautiful old building lovingly maintained - just the right amount of modern to be comfortable and history to enjoy
We had a lovely time! Manager Adrien Dumay made sure we had reservations booked and a beautiful room! I will recommend Le Cep to friends and family.
Wonderful experience, truly memorable. After driving 7 hours slipped into one of the parking spots at the front of this beautiful hotel. We were greeted by Antoine (a true professional) on the door who summarily parked my car in a secure car place and took our bags to our room. We then sat at the bar where Leo the barman prepared us a well earned drink before moving to the restaurant where we had a delicious meal, well priced and really tasty. Our room was stunning and water pressure the best I have had. Breakfast was calm and relaxed, we chose from a buffet and then offered bacon and eggs or basically anything we wanted, I had bacon and scrambled eggs which were cooked to perfection. The hotel is a gem to which we will 100% return in the summer. Thanks so much to the team at Le Cep for a truly memorable night and service. 10/10.
Loved the buildings and the room. The chairs at breakfast were a little bit low for us. We hope to return in the future.
