We've stayed only for one night but can't fault it at all. We've enjoyed the pool and breakfast. Room was clean, bed comfy. National Trust park right next door but the weather wasn't good enough to go for a walk. Generally a pleasant stay
The room was not clean and smelt of damp. The food was also very poor and it was hard to find clean glasses.
Found check in somewhat hard work. Checked in online through the email sent and had a confirmation of the check in but when came to the front desk it appeared that the check in wasn’t done and the receptionist had to re-do it but he did appear to have some sort of an attitude to be honest so that could have been a bit more pleasant but overall can’t complain.
Extremely Basic hotel rooms. Our room was not clean there were marks on walls & the one chair in the "double room' was marked and dust around edges there was cobwebs in corners and cieling with spiders and blood & stains on curtains. I asked reception if we could upgrade & was told NO because you have dogs. I told him the room is dirty and there is cobwebs and spiders everywhere can we change rooms. We were given another very small room which was much cleaner. The tv didnt work in there. Not impressed we definitely wont be staying there again.
Lovely location and hotel just old and tired but perfect place for going to see Man United at Old Trafford
Stayed for 2 nights ,being convenient for what i needed , unfortunately the hotel can be noisy due to other guest banging about and talking in corridor! Small rooms but you have everything you need and good amount of coffee and tea !
Lovely base to stay before and after holiday
Easy does it
I stayed at this hotel recently and found it clean and comfortable, though it feels quite dated, like stepping into a hotel from the past. The room had a few useful features I appreciated, including an iron and ironing board, a good shower, and a very comfortable bed. The food served at the bar was surprisingly good, and the location is convenient, close to the airport and easy to reach. One thing to be aware of is the parking situation. When I arrived, I saw a sign in the car park saying you needed to pay within fifteen minutes. I downloaded the parking app and paid, only to be told at reception that parking is actually free for hotel guests. Unfortunately, they could not refund me because the parking company is separate from the hotel. So make sure to check with reception before paying for parking. Overall, it was a decent stay with a few quirks. If the hotel updates its décor and clears up the parking confusion, it could be a solid choice for airport travellers.
Friendly staff and nice hotel. Only downside was no lift to part of floor 2 where my elderly mams room was
Only stayed overnight. Didn't use much of the amenities. Beds comfortable slept well and the room was clean and tidy
Comfortable and quiet rooms, friendly staff and decent bar area. Handy if flying from Manchester or spotting at Southside. Cheap parking, which is a rarity these days.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Swimming pool and spa facilities were a definite plus. The food was good to average. The room was very small for a double room. The hotel was “tired”. We were on the second floor - carpets were worn, paintwork and decor needed refreshed. Large car park but the bays were too narrow for most vehicles to park safely. Convenient for airport.
It is comfortable enough for my needs. I stay there as ut us close to where i work. Restaurant is excellent and the majority of staff are friendly.
Perfect for a close location to the airport but without airport prices. Staff were very helpful and great to have a pool next door. Quiet and convenient.
Nice clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, bedroom could of been bigger, only real negative was being woken at 5.30am with residents clattering along the corrodor and down the stairs maybe catching early flight
Basic hotel. Ok for a one nighter for airport travel.
Everything about this booking was easy and really convenient for the airport
We stayed the night before our early flight from Manchester check in staff were lovely and friendly the hotel was clean would deffo stay there again.
The property was average and quite dated. The bed was comfortable, we also had no issues with noise.
I have no idea why the bad reviews. For the price and close proximity to the airport , you can’t expect any better. If you want better , dig your pockets and pay £200 / night. It’s clean, plenty parking, free toiletries ( enough for few nights), smart tv , kettle in the room.. what else you need for less than £80 a night …I will defo come again. And yes, we stayed one night and they didn’t even charge for parking .. absolutely 5 star ..
Exactly what was required for a pre-holiday stay as a family of four. Cheap and cheerful. The pool facility was great to tire out 2 kids. The parking set-up worked great for a week away with transfer to the airport included. Not the most luxurious hotel but you get what you pay for. Would be happy to return for future flights.
Only stayed one night due to are flight leaving from Manchester suited are needs
Hotel was quite a distance from main hotel. Shuttle bus wasnt available as flight came in late so taxi was expensive. Gentlemen on checkin was rude and miserable, Not a greeting id expect no explanation of facilities, breakfast etc . Hotel is dirty, room was not clean, windows barely opened no /c just a small dirty fan in a matchbox with a HUGE TV. Chamber lady was miserable lady in morning on reception little better but just as miserable The atmosphere of the hit is awful. Id never stay there again id rather pay £30 extra and stay at Premier Inn
We stayed overnight before our holiday in the executive room which was definitely worth the extra and booked the 3 course meal which was fantastic. Booked to stay on the way back but couldn’t stay overnight so the manager let us have a room to have a sleep until we were ready to leave which was so lovely of her as we were driving back to Cornwall and had already been up 24 hours. Super easy to find and pool was amazing. Will definitely stay again thank you
My stay was not very good, I heard absolutely everything about the rooms I had on both sides and they do not specify that you have to make an extra payment for the use of the pool
Hotel looks very tired, almost unkempt. No air con working in the room on a very hot day. Very out of date on most things.
Everything was perfect for overnight stay
Hotel was ideal for what we needed. Close to airport you can hear the planes taking off and landing
Did the job everything we needed
Only stayed a couple of hours before flying off on holiday but would stay longer another time
Good value for money
Great value for money ! Staff very friendly ! Food was lovely ! Room very clean and comfortable - thank you
Meeting a relative off flight at Manchester. All worked well. Thanks.
Food was fine in the restaurant, the bed was not comfortable and the matress was very hard. The sofa bed looked more comfortable that our son slept on. We folded the sofa bed up as our son wanted to sit on the sofa, there was rubbish under the sofa. The gym is a little tired aswell. Staff were friendly and helpful. Theres no lift so if you have a heavy suitcase it will be fun lifting it up the staircase, the signage directing you to the rooms is also confusing.
Honestly dont know why people leave bad reviews, if you want a 5 star experience, put your hand in your pocket and pay the 200 quid a night at the hilton, instead of wanting to pay 50 quid and get luxury! The staff on check in were FANTASTIC! The restaurant does decent well priced food, the rooms are adequate, the shower in ours was great. There is a shuttle to the airport, however we booked an uber. Parked our car there for 2 weeks, great prices! Overall a great experience, also its the third time we have stopped her over the years
Great hotel close to Manchester airport, anything you could need for a short stay!
Had to book this last minute due to our original hotel was awful and I have nothing but positive things to say clean comfy and chill would recommend to anyone
We enjoyed staying here. The service was great, room was lovely and facilities were good. We used the pool and sauna and had a relaxing stay ahead of our holiday.
Very tired looking room in need of refurbishment. It was clean and I was only in for one night but wouldn’t like for more than this
Was okay needs to be updated feels abit old
Very reasonable price
Hotel looks the part from the outside, inside is dated, very soft bed and pillows but that’s personal preference, the bed and toilet was clean, however could do with some attention in the corners, wall were thin and there was a lot of noise throughout the night. Was some white mould under the window in the room. All in all, a good stay for the price. Good location for the airport and train stations in the area. Would stay again if we were travelling from the airport and were flying out early.
The area was great
Good A lot of things to do Very pleasant
Excellent and comfy
Very good hotel very clean
Booked last minute, road shut right outside , 20 minutes delay, this was known about Ignored at check in Room poor Extra charges for pool and wifi in room that were not stated on Expedia website
It was a short stay over between flights, staff were friendly and room very comfotable.
Good hotel if you are getting an early morning flight from Manchester Airport. I use it to stop the night when I go up there plane spotting. You can park overnight for free when you stop there.
Paid for upgrade the room was fine The reception area and bar areas are in desperate need of a refurbishment
The hotel is very run down and the courtesy bus is £8 each way or £28 in a taxi EACH WAY!! The breakfast was very poor as food was over cooked
Hotel exceeded expectations. Very comfortable for a one night stay.
Lovely room spotlessly clean food very good but I only had a sandwich but well presented who use this hotel again for
Its basically 5 mins away from the airport and viewing park. Nice as you walk to the entrance. Some of the staff seemed to be arguing with each at the bar. Asked about my room being to warm said that maintenance would check for me but still no ventilation very uncomfortable. Pizza was good for what you pay. Some of
My room was okay, bed was comfy. However there was a loud noise in my room all night. Complained to reception but did nothing. Also my TV had date of 1980 so could not get any channels
Great location for a family party in Wilmslow 6mins taxi ride away
Very helpful staff clean and comfortable room, very decent food and plenty of amenities if you need them
The hotel is the best value and at the cost considering its location, it’s fine ! . I have read the reviews and at the price you’re paying why are people moaning about painting & decorative finish . It’s an airport hotel in a perfect location for travellers. If you expect 5 star then pay £400/£500 a night . It’s clean tidy & comfy with spa and bar. Bargain in my eyes. They could charge more and still be a bargain.
Tired
We stayed here for a night before an early flight. Its ok, but nothing special. Rooms felt a little dated and worn. Beds ok but not amazing. Walls were annoyingly thin so a lot of noise comes through. It would have been nice if guests could use the hotel pool for free and not have to pay more. The food in the bar/restaurant is good though. You'll definitely be full! Overall it is a serviceable hotel but could do with an update. The staff and food and good.
Standard double is very small. One of you has to sleep up against the wall. So if that person was to get up at night they would have to climb over the other person. Room is small and the view was over a roof.
Very reasonable airport hotel. Always stay here when flying out from Manchester early. Excellent shuttle bus to the airport, same cost as last year. The insulation must be superb as there is never any noise.
Disappointed. There was no way of adjusting the room temperature, and no heating at all in the bathroom (which had a window, so lost a lot of any room heat that way). The bath had a mixer tap/shower head, but there was no way to support the shower head, therefore had to have a handheld shower. The spa closes ridiculously early at 8pm on a week day. One positive… Breakfast !! The morning receptionist was too busy on the phone, and simply pointed at a box for the room cards, so was unable to voice my opinions. Not planning a re-visit.
Lovely stay but was right now to the stairs so could hear everyone coming up them part from that rooms are Comfortable
Cheap to book
Ideal for our use, visiting friend in hospital
Perfect for a little stopover - is a little further out than i thought from the, airport and unwalkable - but they do a shuttle bus . Pre book if you can.
The room was cold! Cannot put heat on in the room yourself.
Lovely place definitely coming back the staff welcome me as well
Really got hotel for your stay and fly 👍
I booked this hotel for an early flight the next morning. It's so convenient being 19 mins from the Airport. We are a family with 12 year old twins. The room had a double bed and a sofa bed which was way to small for my children. We loved that the hotel has a swimming pool and it was lovely and quiet. It isn't part of the hotel so it does carry an extra charge. £19 per family. We ate in the bar for convenience and found the food okay and reasonably priced. It was very busy and we had to wait for a table. I would recommend this hotel for a night stay if using the Airport.
Quite handy for the airport, The best Britannia property I have stayed in (making it average). Not much different from when it was a holiday inn
Excellent value stop over. Check in was quick. Very friendly staff.
Facility is old and not well maintained, but the staff were courteous and friendly. Loved the shuttle service to the airport though. Driver was very helpful.
Quick check in and just what we needed before flying on holiday as close to airport
In need of a little TLC, but great for an overnight stay near the airport.
Stayed at one of the newly renovated rooms. Much better than the rooms upstairs with old carpets. 12 minutes to airport. 8 pounds with hotel shuttle. When you arrive at the airport you need to make arrangement so you don’t wait too long for the shuttle
For the price i paid its brilliant. Staff lovely room has two singke beds pushed together so kingsize double. Comfy . Fridge to hold drinks
No wifi in the rooms (have to come to the lobby to use it or otherwise pay for it). Also shuttle service is paid too.nothing around the hotel to eat
Bathroom was filthy there was rven a discarded contact lens in there
Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time here. Stayed one night, had fantastic facilities, amazing size comfy beds. Had a brilliant selection of waters and hot drinks in the room. Took some time for our quires to be answered from staff but they were nice enough. Definitely would stay again if flying from Manchester airport
Lovely clean and comfortable room. Nice bar area. We didn’t have time to eat there but the menu looked nice
The only thing I would suggest is the mattress are turned every now and then. Mine was lob sided due to sitting on one available edge by many. Outside of that great spot (from train station airport to here £24 which I thought was a lot and checked with different cab drivers and written down. IF a transport was a viable you could earn a lot more perhaps?
Everything worked as advertised. Good food, good service
Clean sheets and bathroom but carpet has heavy odor. Hallway odor was resolved with air freshener.
Excellent and i said everything
Bedroom was filthy bed was dusty and had hairs in it. Really not happy at all I will be seeking a refund for my stay.
We booked a double room and its so small it felt like a cruise ship cabin. Very tired and there was ear wigs pottering around the bathroom.
Ideal for what we wnted
The hotel was rather out of the way, virtually all services were to be paid for; WIFI, pool, gym all came at an extra fee.
Check out was 10am. Was not told this at reception when checking in. Had a 10£ late check out fee.
Clean, comfortable airport hotel
Clean, friendly staff, a bit dated. Food wasn’t great, and smoke was wafting into the bar area from the main door, which as non smokers put us off our too.
If you're looking for a hotel close to the airport, this one is not it. The hotel is well-marketed and you may think you're getting a deal if you're travelling to the airport. Plot twist: you need to pay extra for the internet (£7 for each device) and pay for the airport transfer (£8 per person). If I had known about this, I wouldn't have stayed here. There are better hotels in the area that are comparably priced, closer to the airport, and don't charge hidden extras. Save yourself time, money and hassle... stay somewhere else.
It was difficult to get through to the reception on the phone. Directions for the shuttle bus service were poor and I was surprised I had to pay for this especially as the driver was pretty grumpy . The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the man on reception in the evening was pleasant. There were good tea making facilities in the room and the bed was comfy. There was no-one on reception early morning and the lift was broken down so had to carry a heavy case up and down to the room. Didn't eat as arrived at 9.20 pm and left at 5.45am so the restaurant was closed. Glad I had brought sandwiches.
Nice hotel, lovely stay.
I arrived at 2:15 just ahead of checkin. I was dismissed by the front desk, told to go sit and wait (don’t bother me was more the attitude). By 3:15pm I was advised I could now checkin. I asked about wifi…was told to just go online and purchase it. I did so, wifi did not work in room 109. I called the wifi provider, surprise, no answer and no return. I again attempted to email the wifi provider, no response. Three elevator (lift) was marked out of service but several times saw staff using it….I had to carry my bags up the stairs to 1st floor. Rm109 has an appalling view of a dirty roof where alll the smokers use the rooms to smoke in and throw butts outside….disgusting. Big mistake, staff were entirely indifferent to customer needs, only bar staff very pleasant. Would pay a few £$ more and go elsewhere.
Price petty fair, but room require a bit of TLC. Reception not manned all the time. Gust had to wait 5-10 minutes for somebody turned up.
Convenient for airport & reasonable prices however the entire hotel, carpets & bathrooms need to be redone as outdated & filthy.
