Great location. Quiet location (double glazed x 2). Hungry horse next door. Spotless room, even had USB and USB C sockets by each side of the bed. Couldn’t fault it for the money.
We had a family room with 3 beds. The room was very clean room and also the bathroom had a shower which is better than a bath. The water pressure was not strong but I suppose it to save water. It was in a quiet area. The weather was really hot so we used the fan in the room all night. We had a great price and try to book another night but it was fully booked. We had to book one in Lancaster which was not as clean as the one in Preston. We will come again in need it.
Great hotel very clean and tidy, on check in the lad was very helpful and really chatty. Pillows were lumpy and need replacement I’d say that’s only negative. Breakfast was unlimited and was as you’d expect from these hotels nowt fancy but does the job perfectly.
From checking in the stay was really nice. Mike at reception went above and beyond in customer care. Would recommend
Half the hotel rooms border a dual carriageway so it's really noisy. The secondary glazing they have installed is useless. Expect a sleepless night.
Mike And Terri checked us in. Smooth check-in, huge restaurant and lovely rooms. Probably best travelodge I have stayed in. Would recommend.
Stayed here with work for a week and was impresssed all around. Have stayed in Travelodge before and not had great experiences but Preston North is a lovely, modern, refurbed and quiet hotel. Was checked in by Sam upon arrival who was great, he was helpful, professional and friendly. All staff I spoke to across days and nights were polite and helpful. Room was quiet, no noise from outside or the corridor and the bed was surprisingly comfy for a hotel bed, I slept perfectly each night. Shower a little basic and room a little hot but nothing unfixable. Only negative was the Lift being out of use and the 6 flights of stairs upto the 3rd floor being a pain.
Handy location just off the motorway. Staff friendly and helpful. Reasonable sized car park. Room nice and quiet even though it overlooked the motorway. Nice and clean, bed very hard. Breakfast a good choice of food , however no orange juice , just apple or apple and orange.
Mike and Teri were so helpful and lovely.
Amazing time, thanks Terri & Mike
Would definitely recommend this hotel,I need to recommend two members of staff that made us feel so welcome and they are called Terri and Sam .They made our stay very nice ,lovely manners and very friendly, went out of there way to make us feel welcome .would definitely recommend this hotel and top two members of staff Sam and Terri .we will stay here again and Sam and Terri need to be on shift for the stay while we are there
We stayed here as a stop off point on route to the lake district. We had a very warm welcome from the guy on Reception and was quickly given the key to our room on the 3rd floor, there was a lift so getting our luggage to our room was very easy. The room itself was a nice size, very clean and had soap for washing your hands as well as body wash in the shower. The tv was also a nice size, unfortunately no catch up tv but for the price we paid (£30.99) this wasnt an issue. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. The car park was huge and is free, you just need to enter your car reg details on the machine inside the hotel, we were lucky to park right under the window of our room so we could see the car clearly, always peace of mind. The hotel has a cafe/pub onsite but is also very well located to the Hungry Horse pub next door, if you want a pint or something to eat, we ventured out the hotel and turned left, there was a premier shop 10 mins walk away, if you need any last minute snacks etc, which was handy, we found a fantastic place called Ginger Bistro, the food was amazing and the staff was lovely and friendly, they do very nice cocktails. Only a few negatives, the bedsheets had horrible dirty stains on that hadn't been washed or changed since the last guests, by the time we noticed we were ready for bed and just wanted to sleep, so we turned them round and made doo for 1 night. We were only given 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel for the 2 of us, again we didnt complain and managed. Other than this we could recommend and would stay again.
Stayed here for a night . Mike who checked us in was fabulous. Really helpful . The room was good very tidy. Would definitely stay here again just for the banter with fabulous Mike .
Ethan was excellent. He looked after my mother and I all evening. The food was well presented and tasty. He ran the bar, reception, kitchen and did the service. Multi talented.
It was a great experience here. The cleanness of the room, the location, the food, and the staff, especially Mike, were all excellent. He was friendly and very helpful. I’ll definitely visit again and highly recommend this place.
Good location. Relaxed atmosphere. Room was exactly what it needed to be and for good value. Service was excellent by all members of staff, Ethan in particular was very attentive.
I spent 3 nights here as I was in Preston for a family visit. I often stay in Central Preston but parking is a pain and hotels are on the expensive side so I decided on Broughton, it was a good decision. It has only recently rebranded as a TL so the rooms have a fresh feel about them. I recently stayed in a new TL in Wiltshire, their rooms were tiny but those in Broughton were a great size and comfy. It is well equipped with a restaurant / bar and pub next door. The location is very good, right next to J32 of the M6 but no traffic noise. It is a 20 minute walk to Black Bull Lane which has a lively pub, a recently opened bar and artisan alehouse. . You can also get the bus at this junction which takes you to Central Preston in 10 mins. You have to register for parking but it is free and plentiful. Staff are great, will come again.
We stayed here for 1 night and by gos it was lush. From the room to the dinner it was amazing. A special mention to the guy Mike who served us. He was a real gentleman and helping in the situation with our little 2 year old who was hell bent on moving everything around as in the furniture and he quickly said if it is keeping her happy let her do it al tidy it all back together after yous leave. He was amazing with her interacting and playing games with her. His service to myself and wife was second to none he deserves a medal for how he coped with it all and the mess my little one made didn’t phase him at all.
Excellent location, Mike on reception and all the staff great customer service. Nice freshly cooked food and nice room. Nice bar also choice of a pub next door with tables outside music in the back round and fortunately for us the sun was shining. Plenty of retail outlets near by. We will be staying again good value thank you all.
Such a lovely welcome from Mike and a great explanation of everything. We stay in travel lodges a lot but this was the best experience and welcome ever. Everything was checked and we felt very happy
We had a great stay at this hotel. Sam at reception gave us a warm welcome. We had a delicious pizza. Room was comfortable and clean. Shower a bit weak but usable. Breakfast was adequate again, staff were good. Great value too.
Both Sam and Maria were polite, helpful and happy to help two tired people
Morning staff rude and unhelpful. Breakfast was non existent, bad smell in room . No tv remote , wouldn't recommend
I have stayed in accommodation in the past a few times at around fourty pounds a night and thought afterwards well it was a low price you can't really expect luxury so I was only expecting something basic at this Preston North Travelodge but what a surprise because it was superb. Everything worked perfectly and in good condition. The room and bathroom were also really spotless. The whole of the hotel was very impressive. The television had a good quality picture and over fifty channels available. The shower looked good and performed okay but nothing to enthuse about that much. Breakfast was all you can eat for £9.99 I was tempted to buy it but I put weight on very easily and I am on a diet but maybe next time. Just a few minor things which maybe would have made the stay even better. Some extra bedding would have come in handy because the heating went off about nine and one duvet was not quite sufficient in early February. Consequently I had to wrap the duvet round myself to ward off the slight chill on movement. There was no telephone in the room so a single occupant had no recourse in the event of a serious medical issue. I had to go down and get my own toilet roll from reception because there was none in the bathroom and I had to trudge up the stairs to the top floor again because I am not keen on using lifts. On the whole though in my opinion for fourty pounds this was a hotel bargain which surely can not be bettered in the UK and anyone thinking of staying here should go for it. There is a large car park with an equally large modern pub next door called the Phantom Winger. Despite its size this hotel is quite easy to miss and I only spotting it by chance I did not see the hotel signposted on the extremely busy main roads which are alongside the hotel but overnight there was no noise from the roads or other rooms just the vehicle lights visible on the ceiling.
The hotel is situated right next to the motorway. On the one night we stayed the highway agency decided to cut down trees and brush and put them through a chipper machine outside our bedroom window for 3 hours between the hours of 12 am - 3am. The hotel did nothing about it. Never got an apology or refund or compensation or offer to move room... nothing
Absolutely no issues. Staff was kind , receptionist was helpful and lovely. Easy parking with pub just outside the hotel. Bedding clean. Room was warm which is what i like. Bathroom was nice and tidy. I wouldn't mind to have a bath instead of shower but at least I showered myself quicker and I run to the pub 😂
This is a fantastic Travelodge with a newly refreshed offer and an excellent bar/cafe/restaurant. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Manageress Klaudia is a model of customer service and professionalism. Rooms are smart and upgraded, ample parking and a pleasure to stay there - keep up the good work ! Good food and a great house Shiraz !!
The best Travelodge we have ever stayed in! Everything looked new, fresh and clean. We arrived later than intended due to the severe weather conditions, the young man at the front desk was efficient and friendly. The design of the standard room we had booked looked better than any previous Travelodge (and we have stayed in many) it was upgraded and redesigned with walk in shower, large bedroom, big tv, spotless throughout. Would definitely stay here again.
Having booked through their corporate system previously (where service is much better) I decided to give them a chance and booked a private trip rather than use my preferred PremierInn brand. What a mistake! Hotel stank of paint, was extremely noisy from the road, staff weren’t interested in helping at all and refused to cancel my pre paid breakfast after they informed me it wasn’t available until 30 mins after I needed to check out. Add to this pillows that felt like they were filled with rocks (only two, not the four that were advertised and it makes this location definitely one to avoid! Pay the few pounds more and stay at a PremierInn as at least you’ll be treated as a person rather than someone to fleece for every penny.
Not sure what to expext on recent reviews!!! However! Travel lodge took it over x3 weeks ago and are in the process of refurbishment ! Very clean and tidy our room had been already done on 2nd floor lovley walk in shower ect bar and resturant on ground floor also big pub at the side definatly will return
Lovely Hotel been refurbished Would definitely recommend Staff are all very welcoming and helpful Would definitely recommend We will stay again
Brilliant!! What a difference, taken over by Travelodge , completely refurbished to a high standard . Thoroughly recommend. Partially open , fully open by mid December. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Definitely stay again .
I would highly recommend staying here, and I will definitely come back, the staff Klaudia and Ethan were extremely helpful and kind, grt parkin
Wow I really hope someone from head office sees this review and rewards the night team. Travel lodge has just taken over this hotel. We had been for a night out, arrived back at 1am. The 2 men on the night shift were absolutely phenomenal. They had had 2 days training. They went over and above to make us food. They were so friendly! These two men are an absolute credit to you. We didn’t get their names but were on nights on 25th October. Thank you for making our stay! Hotel just being refurbished. Only 20 rooms available. Lots of building work still going on. Would come again just for the friendliness of the staff.
Location to where we were working.
Rooms were ok, except one had damp on lots of walls, car park not so good for vans. They have a lot of coach parties so both nights there was over an hour wait for food, so best to go early. Not so good if you’ve been working hard all day, had to go out for food. More of a budget hotel but not for the pieces we paid sadly
Great location just off M6 and easy parking. Good value but not exceptional. Everything fits this price point
Large room with basic facilities, close to motorway, ideal stop over during long journey if all you require is somewhere to rest and sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Dirty stained carpet and sofa in the room and bad smell. Rooms need a deep clean or refurbishment.
Location
The beds were hard, no hair dryer, no tea spoons or milk in room, bibles in room
Reading some of the reviews here I wasn't quite sure what to expect and arrived with some trepidation, I was however pleasantly surprised. In terms of fitting the bill for a reasonably priced motorway stop off it did exactly what was required. The car park had plenty of safe, well lit, secure spaces. The room was decent and up to the standard expected, there was little to no ambient noise (IE traffic, slamming doors or noisy people). The beds were comfortable. The hotel is dog friendly and they made a fuss of my dog. The pub was next door was closed for food, so we ate in the hotel, the menu was limited but very good, food to a high standard, actually some of the best Pizza I've had in a while! The staff were friendly and even gave me some plasters the following morning for the journey. For the price I thought it was very good!
Some have mentioned the carpets throughout could do with replacement, which indeed they could but that was the only minor negative - tbh it didn't affect my stay.
Nothing was good
Room was very dated, dirty and very smelly, hallways were smelly, bedding had holes in
Value for money and well located
Limited food provision but at least a pub next door
Easy to get to and clean and the staff were very friendly
Curtains didn’t close as they were hanging off the sink didn’t drain properly and no hairdryer plus it was very noisy
Location
Nothing
Location
Rooms were in a very poor state, carpet stained everywhere
Badly in need of renovation carpets definetly need replaced, when it's warm it's hard to sleep with window open as road noise was quite loud, especially ambulance sirens as I think there is a hospital close to it
I would to say the shower could do with updating and when you used the toilet there was a pump noise.it was loud and we could hear the same thing going with our neighbours bathroom. Kettle leaked but sorted it straight away.
Visit went smooth from start to finish.
We could've done with some extra pillows.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Kettle with tea and coffee available. The room was a bit warm but the staff gave us a fan to use which was much appreciated. Breakfast was on until 10am which was great, check out at 12pm was even better. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and all seemed tasty as per family. Close to all routes around Preston and 10 minutes from the venue we were visiting.
We paid £75 for the night then found that the rate was £49 for the night we were there. Bit annoying as I would have thought booking in advance would be cheaper.
Easy to find friendly staff
Old and not very clean
The breakfast buffet was great with a good variety.
I didn't know where the intercom was located inside the room. One of the bedside lamps didn't work. The televisions in these rooms are too small and old.
Quiet. Clean,comfortable
Staff were great
The bed was rubbish, the pillows were terrible, the toilet made a terrible noise every time you used it
Good location- friendly staff Clean and comfortable
Good value for money, staff service was really good, breakfast was much better than expected
The location, in that it was near the motorway
The location, in that it was near to Preston. The room looked so sparsely furnished I thought it had been turned over by thieves....even the carpet underlay seemed to have been removed. The bed was hard, the pillows were thin and too few, there was no air-con, the window was openable but hung into the room which was weird, and anyway it was too noisy to do that and hope to sleep. The carpet was stained, the bathroom was ok but was past its prime. There was instructions to ask reception for anything we might need, like extra pillows, hairdryer etc but no phone to contact them. So that would have necessitated a walk in my pyjamas down two flights of stairs and back, passing those reminder signs that they wouldn't tolerate any abuse or violence against staff, who were (apparently) aware of (and doing all they could to limit the amount of) trafficking and child abuse on the premises (nice!) whilst noticeably avoiding eye contact with everyone. Never been happier to throw them the keys as we left in the morning.
It's pretty much on the motorway.
The room reeked like the smoker had just left the room and the carpet looked like the floor of a nightclub on a Saturday morning. The bathroom smelled... well used.
Easy access for work event
Carpets stained Bed mattress thin
Tea and coffee facilities.
The location is slightly inaccessible without a car.
Room comfortable. Nice bar area, breakfast good
Difficult to find
New carpets. Very helpful staff. Good car park. Excellent breakfast bar.
Noise from the M5 when windows are open. Not much to be done about this!!
Only postives I can think of is the bedding was clean crisp and fresh and the bed itself quite comfortable. And the room was quiet even though it was ground floor. We left early and didn't take breakfast at the hotel.
Hotel generally pretty filthy. Hallway carpet filthy and the hallway iteself smelled old and musty. Stain on the carpet outside our room. Bedroom felt dated and dirty and bathroom very dated, grout awful and it felt unclean - I wore my slides in the shower.
Staff were approachable and helpful
The overall smell in the hotel was terrible, the corridors smelt even worse, carpets in rooms were covered in stains, bedding had holes in and in 1 room the bedding had a huge stain on
Location was handy for motorway,
Rooms need attention, carpets dirty and breakfast poor especially for the price, cheap and in basic food.
Staff ,Location
Hotels was in a good location but the carpets & pillows were stained badly , bed was uncomfortable overall needing a good revamp
The room was clean and fresh, with fresh towels provided every day, and in a great location near the ice rink.
can be quite noisey at night time
Convenience
There is an unplesant smell across the corridors.
Clean basic room.
Nothing.
The staff members were very friendly and helpful.
In general the hotel/room was a bit grubby. Random curious stains on the all and carpet. Windows covered in webs and possibly mould around the seals. Kettle lid loose
Great location , staff very pleasant
Room quite
Looked like a mult story car park awful decoration
The rooms are dirty ! Very poor ,for what they charge isn't justified!
Dirty, uncomfortable grim !
Breakfast was really good , thick bacon and the sausages were very tasty, but I would have liked fresh eggs ie poached or fried rather than scrambled.
Good breakfast
Unfortunately no fan available for room as it was really hot
The breakfast was excellent, the young lady running the breakfast area was extremely diligent.
It was a bit tied
good location near motorway
tricky access, signage off motorway needs folioage trimmed, not hotels fault but council however, missing the turn off leads to a long return.
