It was quieter being just out of town was good value for money and plenty of room so go again

A bit more privacy and better view ie not some business yard in view maybe screened off ... better seating area would of been a nice touch

The Motel is looking very tired in terms of decor, cleanliness and furniture. The overall cleanliness was poor and the shower and ensuite room had mould in the corner of the shower and in the roof corner above the vanity. Some of the bedding was clean, where as the duvet had stains on it. The table and chairs were outdoor tables and chairs, so not comfortable or suitable to use indoors for dining. Outside there was a whole pile of furniture just dumped outside for some reason. The guest next door felt it acceptable to play music at 2:24am until we banged on the wall a few times, so a poor experience was had by myself and my partner.

Small things like having a decent size bin, more than one spoon and a sharp knife would have made the stay more functional.

The older man was not very accommodating or friendly—he wasn’t nice to the guests, and the room was dirty.

Disappointed realising we couldn't cook food but there was microwave toaster & jug. Friendly owner. Deco very tired

Great communication from owner, telling me what room I was in. Nice sunny room and well equipped. Beds were comfortable and shower was nice and hot. Added bonus as there was 3 of us, we were asked if we wanted the adjoining room.

The bed was reasonably comfortable

I don't think the shower had been cleaned, there was a used washcloth in there as well as brown scum round the bottom and mold and plates had greasy fingermarks on them. Quite frankly it was awful and I would never stay there again.

location was ok, on highway so was a bit noisy with trucks passing by all day & night, not beach front & a bit away from town centre, car park was outside room

manager was always outside, we never got into reception area, rooms were fairly old & dated, some furniture looks like it's been there since the place was built, wifi connection was pretty poor

A genuinely nice, clean and cozy Motel! Owners were super helpful and flexible with our arrival time. Location was perfect, close to central but not right in the mix of it all. Will be returning for all our future stays!!

the empty beer can behind the bathroom door. freezer box was so frozen with ice.light with dead bugs. hand towel rails fell apart. have photos for proof. and no fire alarms.

Accommodating hosts so close to Christmas.

The room was dirty, especially the bathroom, someone's old towel was hanging there, the trash can was half full in the toilet, the toilet bowl was not clean and generally dirty. Not recommended.

We did not have a good experience. It started off so poorly we tried to find another hotel and were just going to take a loss. Unfortunately we couldn't find one so we stayed. It was very unclean, the bed was collapsed, you could hear full conversations through the wall. There was a door at the back of the unit and it opened onto a junk yard. It was super drafty and very run down. As for the value, the place we are staying at this evening is 15% less and it's immaculate compared to that.

It was available when accomodation in the town was very limited. Room was good, clean and comfortable. The manager was helpful with advice on restaurants etc.

Noisy - traffic noise all night. Group (6-8) of government electricity department workers or contractors partying outside their rooms until very late immediately next to my unit. Loud tv in the next unit until early AM.

No air conditioning and the council stopped the new sidewalk to far from the property. Silly of them.

The walk along the beach to town. The classic car museum at the back of the motel was cool.

We were told the key will be in the door of unit 2, as we were arriving about 8.30 pm. Beds were comfy to sleep in.

The milk in the fridge was opened and half full, cobwebs in the corner of the roof as you walk in on ur right. Round the windows weren’t wiped, wall paper beside the bed was yellow, and peeling!!!! Tried to get on wifi but it wasn’t connecting or very low that couldn’t get the internet

A small bottle of milk would have been good. I wouldnt have had to go and buy one.

The location was okay, right on the main road.

The room was not clean. While the bedding was changed, the kitchen and bathroom were not cleaned, as there was garbage left from the previous guests and spider webs throughout. The parking lot was so small and a large truck parked right at the entrance, so it was very difficult to get in and maneuver. The wifi was inconsistent and would often cut out. When we tried to talk to someone, they were never in the office, even during the office hours.

Great location, the facilities met our needs for our one night stay.

On arrival, we did not feel at all welcomed by the person in the Office. They "reprimanded" us for not reading the text they had obviously sent about accessing the unit and not informing them we had a trailer. Our recommendation is that there is a question included when booking through booking.com about having a trailer, or not. To be honest, we have never been 'greeted' in this manner before on our travels.

Friendly greeting when we arrived. Room size was very comfortable compared with many other studio spaces I’ve stayed. Bathroom and kitchen clean; kitchen supplied with appropriate items

On the edge of town. If coming from Christchurch it’s on the far side. There was traffic noise. It didn’t interfere with my sleep but be aware you’re on the main road.

Sack your cleaner- the unit was dirty especially the bathroom. We were given a partial refund when we complained, so did appreciate recognition of the unacceptable condition.
