Hotel Oliveto

We are just home from a week holiday in Lake Garda, staying in Hotel Oliveto. The superior room was exactly as advertised on their web site. The room was clean and spacious, we got a small balcony, the rooftop bar was so beautiful although the drinks menu is limited. We didnt realise that there was a wellness centre until 2 hours before departure, and it looked amazing. The only potential drawback could be that it is about at 25 minute walk to the harbour, and with the heat last week, this was a little tough, but as the week went on, we got used to it. I would suggest the availability of rubber mats for the shower, as it could get a little slippy. Also if the bar downstairs was open during the day / evening, it could be a nice place to have some quiet time. A special call out to Davide (took a note of his name as he was brilliant ) at reception. He honestly bent backwards to help us, and to answer all our questions. He is such as asset to the hotel. I really hope that we can return again one day. We love Lake Garda and we would love to go back to Hotel Oliveto.

Absolutely brilliant location - very close to all the bars and restaurants and gorgeous views of the lake. Also very close to the train station and a central location meant it was very easy to get to Verona and Peschiera Del Garda. The ferry is also very close and a lovely quick trip over to Sirmione. Ferry and trains are very cheap compared to taxi fares. Staff here are wonderful, so helpful and friendly and were great with assisting with anything we needed. Food and drinks are also very nice. The outdoor bar does a great Hugo Spritz and the seafood pasta was a big fave! Couldn't rate this higher and cant wait to come back!

There is continued construction work at this hotel which, the receptionist tells me, is some way off completion We paid extra for a room with a balcony looking over lake Garda. Yes, the lake is visible, but only if close one eye to block the crane and don’t look down so as to avoid the building supplies stacked around the entrance drive. The balcony was essentially unusable. Our room was also the last of the existing block so we were in the ‘front row’ for the building noises from the other side of the wall! This morning we had a 5:45 awakening as a lorry delivered some more building materials. The room itself looks tired and could do with a lick of paint, a bit of re-grouting and some new ceiling tiles, but maybe that will come when the other building work is done. Unless you can secure a room in the middle of the old building (expansion is going on at both sides), or until after the work is complete, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Wir hatten ein großes, gemütliches und sauberes Zimmer. Da Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und reichhaltig. Da Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Schöner Pool und ausreichend Liegen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Die versprochene Sauna musste stundenweise gemietet werden, was unter Zeitdruck kaum Entspannung versprach und wir deshalb nicht nutzten.

Personal an der Rezeption und vom Frühstück sehr nett und freundlich

Leider war unser Zimmer total alt und heruntergekommen. Fremde schwarze Haare und Schimmel in der Dusche sowie ein Loch in der Decke über der Dusche. Wir hatten bei der Buchung extra 3 Einzelbetten bestellt, was uns auch bestätigt wurde. Leider hatten wir dann ein Doppelbett und ein Schlafsofa. Beim Frühstück hätten wir uns gerne etwas mehr Abwechslung gewünscht.

Located 20 minute walk from Desenzano port for ferry to other areas of Garda and lots of nice restaurants and shops. Around 40 minute walk to train station. Very clean spacious room with balcony offering views of the lake between trees and residential buildings on opposite side of road. Tea/coffee making facilities but paper cups. Not topped up during stay - but we had brought our own. Towels changed daily. Decent hairdryer in bathroom. Bed linen changed 2nd day or our 3-day stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good choice of hot food and continental breakfast. Paid to have dinner at hotel one evening. Pricey but absolutely delicious. Building works evident but absolutely no noise. Indoor pool and spa area very relaxing, though small.

Stayed in 2022 with my partner in one of their top tier rooms. Room was excellent, luxurious and food was nice too. Staff well mannered and spoken.

Location was great. Just a leisurely stroll from Centre. Staff were very friendly.

Breakfast though it was lovely and plenty of choice the HOT food was never HOT. Display cabinet very near door opening and very little room to wander around the well stocked buffet.

Die Zimmer sind noch nicht ganz fertig renoviert, es befindet sich aber auf einem sehr guten Weg

Teilweise hat man über alte Sachen einfach drübergearbeitet, das fällt natürlich auf und sollte komplett erneuert werden

Bequeme Betten. Vielfältiges und reichhaltiges Frühstück. Fahrräder konnten sicher verstaut werden.

Erstes Zimmer leicht renovierungsbedürftig. Mussten wegen Ameisen dann Zimmer wechseln. Zweites Zimmer war aber top. Schöner Innenpool für den man aber bezahlen muss.

Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Very reasonable priced cocktails and great swimming pool. There is a beautiful large breakfast spread provided to suit all dietary requirements. Beautiful walk along the promenade to ferry terminal about 19 minutes. Heaps of restaurants to choose from along the promenade all are very good. The hotel also offers a beautiful dinner at very reasonable rates. There are lifts to access the upper floor for your luggage. The heated pool is also very relaxing and private to your booked time slot.

́L’état de propreté de la chambre (moquette poussiéreuse, plinthes très sales, toiles d’araignée...) et de la salle de bain ( sol collant ne devant pas être récuré souvent, lunette des toilettes démontée, douche vétuste...) Vieux papiers et tissus sur le balcon. Après notre 1ère nuit nous avons fait part de nos réclamations à l’accueil mais le soir nous avons constaté que le ménage n'avait pas été mieux fait. Le classement de cet établissement est à revoir à la baisse. Les photos sur le site de réservation sont belles et attrayantes; nous avons été vraiment déçus. Nous ne recommandons pas cet établissement.

Stayed here for 4 nights in room 250 - room was spacious with a balcony and had a safe and mini fridge. There was a kettle with tea bags in the room which is a plus in Europe. There is a TV but I couldn't find any English channels. The shower was compact but fine if you are not too large. hand wash, shower gel, shampoo and body lotion was all provided. Towels were replenished frequently and the bedding was changed after 2 nights. We ate in the restaurant one evening and paid 45 euros for 2 people for 2 courses and soft drinks. The waiters were all very polite and pleasant. Breakfast was a large buffet with plenty of choice even for fussy eaters - there were plenty of pastries and cakes, 2 types of juice, tea/coffee/chocolate all available in a machine, hot selection of egg, bacon, sausage, hash browns, beans...breads and croissants and jams with ham/cheese salad etc and fresh fruit and fruit salad and yogurt...too much to remember it all!! All of the waiters were very friendly and cleared the tables quickly. Check in and check out was very efficient and the staff were friendly. We did not use the Spa - not sure if it was open with all the building work going on there. Pool area was clean with plenty of new sunbeds and umbrellas available. A couple of things do need addressing- housekeeping was very hit and miss...some days all they seemed to do was make the bed - i found a plastic bag under the chair from a previous stay which had not been removed. room was a bit dusty in places and more coat hangers would have been useful. The walk into the centre of town is around 15-20 minutes but is a tree-lined street which is perfectly safe and well lit at night. We heard no noise from the building work but we were out all day...and can only give positive comments about the staff working here - I would happily go back again in the future

Breakfast was excellent. There were plenty of options for foods. The room was cleaned everyday.

Gostei muito da localização, acessível à pé ao centro da cidade, próximo à restaurantes da região e de fronte ao lago, praticamente. Um local muito tranquilo. Boa comida e a opção de uma piscina interna e SPA além da piscina externa que contribuem p um ótimo relaxamento. Dependências comuns bem cuidadas. Apesar de estar em reestruturação o barulho não incomodou. Com relação aos funcionários são bem profissionais com destaque para a atenção prestada pelos funcionários do restaurante. Com certeza estará em uma das minhas metas voltar a me hospedar nessa estrutura.

Tudo foi praticamente à contento. Somente em uma das partes comuns ao térreo senti um odor forte proveniente de uma sala que está servindo de depósito no momento mas que isso pode ser facilmente corrigido pela estrutura pois fica próxima à recepção. E também a atenção das funcionárias da limpeza ao repor os itens necessários no quarto apesar de ter achado a limpeza bem eficiente.

Great location - by the lake, 5 min from a beach, and a very pleasant 10 min walk lakeside to the centre of Desenzano. Italian food is so good you need to walk to work some of it off and the views of the lakes and mountains are amazing. Pool was great - decent size, lots of sunbeds. Plenty of parking (out front or in the new car park out back). Easy to drive to from Verona airport and a good base for seeing around Lake Garda. It sometimes seemed quite cloudy/rainy in the northern part of the lake but was generally sunny in this southern part. You need a car to explore properly, I would say. Our room was large and clean. As others have said, the hotel decor is dated, but that didn’t matter to us as we were out all day and evening. Also as others have said, there were some lively other guests (hen party?) - I’m very happy for other people to have fun; I couldn’t hear them from my room. Showers are hot, you just have to run the water for a while. My son and husband loved the egg and bacon (or something similar to bacon) breakfast.

There was nothing I didn’t like. For the price I thought it was very good. If you want a very smart modern hotel (with a pool) in this location, you would definitely need to pay more.

This was our 3rd time at this hotel, loved the refurbished rooms, nice, bright and clean. Breakfast has improved, brilliant selection, fresh and something for everyone, fresh pancakes and crepes made daily, great selection of herbal teas. Staff polite friendly and very helpful. Tried the new spa and it was amazing

The hotel was nice! It was a shame work was ongoing but that can’t be helped. The pool area was lovely and lots of sunbeds. The reception staff were very helpful. My children loved the crepes at breakfast.

I felt that whilst the room was clean, it was the small things that were a shame. You got a kettle in your room, a few tea bags and sugar but no milk or coffee. On the first day I drank the tea but it was never replaced. I am sure if I asked I could have got it sorted but I just got extra stuff at breakfast. There was paper disposal cups in the room for all drinks, they were never replaced throughout the week which was a bit disappointing, we were using the same cups for coffee and then water. Whilst this is a family hotel, I am not sure other holiday makers accepted this. We have 2 children, 8 and 11, I felt very uncomfortable around the pool due to looks from other holiday makers when my kids were having fun in the pool. I did nothing but tell them to stop being kids which is unfair, it’s their holiday too, whilst that is not the hotels fault, it as a real shame. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend for families.

La moquette datata da l’idea del trascurato e non pulito.. speravo dopo anni di non trovarla più e invece..

Dette er ikke et 4 stjerners hotell Vårt rom var slitent med etterlatenskaper fra forrige beboer flere dager etter at vi flyttet inn. Ekstremt lytt.Billige plaststoler på veranda. Pappkopper på bad og ved vannkoker.2 teposer ved ankomst,ble ikke erstattet ved bruk(var der i 10 dager ) Dette er et byggeområde (de utvider hotellet mot bassenget) Vanskelig å stille vannet i dusjen da kranen falt av ved innstilling .

Buona posizione dell hotel, ottime dimensioni e esposizione piscina, camera spaziosa, personale disponibile e gentile.

Struttura da rinnovare, pulizia parti comuni e camera appena discreta (moquette vecchia, poco pulita. Nei corridoi/scale polvere e ragnatele. La colazione potrebbe migliorare con qualche attenzione in piu.

Location is good around 15min walk into town. Very close to the lake. Hotel is quite dated, rooms are large and spacious with a nice balcony - we had a view of the pool. Hotel is being renovated so building work being undertaken which spoils abit of the view.. Beds comfortable, bathroom needs some TLC - mould around shower, cracks in tiles. Staff - friendly and very helpful about things to do and places to see. Breakfast - hot food was not very hot, eggs bacon and hash browns was very bland however fruits, pastries, cold meats and cheese were nice. Again decor could do with an update.

Einfach nur eine Katastrophe! Ich rate jedem ab dort zu reservieren!! Im Hotel war eine Baustelle und es war den ganzen Tag Lärm, vor ab wurde darüber nicht informiert! Trotz mehreren Versuchen mit dem Hotel via Email eine entsprechende Rückzahlung zu verhandeln - keine Rückmeldung. Selbst bei Eingreifen von Booking wurde nicht reagiert. Weiters: - Aufgrund der Baustelle war es am Balkon dreckig und somit auch die Füße, Badesachen usw - Die Dusche war bei der Ankunft verstopft und wurde selber vom Gast gereinigt und frei gemacht - Die Duschwand war ausgehängt und somit ist das Wasser beim Duschen ausgelaufen, wurde auch von Gast repariert. - Die Ablage in der Dusche war schief und somit konnte mein kein Shampoo drauf stellen - Am Bett war eine Streckdose völlig zerstört - Die Türe im Badezimmer war schief und man musste sie mit Kraft auf und zu machen - Es waren zu wenig Kleiderbügel (5 Stück) in einem Doppelzimmer und auch keine Regale im Kleiderschrank

Il buffet colazione è ottimo e ricco di ogni varietà di pietanza dolce e salato. Bella la piscina e anche la posizione semicentrale. Tutto il personale è stato molto cordiale.

Non sono amante della moquette nelle camere e materassi e cuscini sono sicuramente migliorabili. Davvero ottimo il ristorante, rivedrei un pochino le porzioni che sono un po' risicate

Teppichböden am Gang und im Zimmer sowie grüne „Gras-Teppiche“ auf der Terasse bzw bei der Poolbar waren nicht wirklich sauber und wurden die ganze Woche nicht gesaugt

Tolle Lage, Strand und Zentrum zu Fuß erreichbar. Personal sehr freundlich.

Purtroppo il diavolo sta nei dettagli. Le rifinitiure, in particolare nella camera, sono un po’ poco curate. Inoltre, purtroppo, l’hotel ha davvero molte camere, per cui risulta affollato.

Posizione ottima anche per chi non ha auto, lungolago e centro con negozi e ristoranti comodamente raggiungibili a piedi. Piscina con bar gazebo ottimo. Camera bella, elegante, rinnovata e confortevole. Servizio manutenzione molto efficiente.

Zona ristorante e aree comuni necessiterebbero di un ammodernamento. Camera 300 un po' piccola (causa vano ascensore).

Pulizia e gentilezza dello staff ! Camera pulita con affaccio sulla piscina esterna. Colazione abbondante essendo celiaca mi hanno fatto avere i prodotti senza glutine
