The wellness was beyond ecpectations. Perfect. The teras also perfect.

The room was smelly, smell from the shower sinc. Not all the time, but frequently (room 306). Every thing else nove, clean and perfect.

Our shower door didn’t close so left water everywhere, reception appeared aware of it, a detail easy to fix for a prestigious hotel, dinner was nice but my main course had uncooked vegetables which hardly drew an apology never mind some affirmative action because of it again could easily have been remedied

Beautiful hotel in a great location

Świetna lokalizacja tuż przy plaży. Wyjątkowe SPA z solankową wodą. Bardzo miła obsługa. możliwość skorzystania z parkinu hotelowego z usługa parkingową. Jedynym mankamentem był zbyt mały pokój jak na hotel pięciogwiazdkowy.

Klassisches Grand Hotel direkt an der Promenade und am Strand. Super Lage mit fantastischem Blick über die Bucht, direktem Strandzugang und kurzem Fußweg in die Altstadt. Vom Zimmer aus ebenfalls toller Blick aufs Meer. Super Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit Meerblick. Sehr tierfreundliches Hotel (wir waren mit unserem Hund dort) und sehr freundliches Personal.

Es war alles sehr gut. Nur der Spa Bereich hätte länger als bis 19 Uhr geöffnet haben können.

La habitación estándar es de un tamaño justito, y las persianas no llegan a tapar toda la luz, si vas a dormir hay que llevar antifaz. No hay mampara en el baño, es amplio pero puede acabar todo mojado. Justo media hora después de llegar nos estábamos cambiando de ropa, y una persona del hotel abrió la puerta y entró, nos dijo que creía que no había nadie, y luego si necesitábamos algo… yo que me dejasen vestirme. Al comentarlo abajo me dijeron que seguramente llamó pero no la oí…

Une attente trop grande : chambre disponible à 16h40, bien apres l'heure normale (sans rattrapage pour l'heure de départ par exemple), plus de 30 minutes d'attente pour la commande au bar... Pour patienter en attendant notre chambre, nous avons eu droit à une boisson. Appréciable mais nous n'étions pas les seuls a attendre les chambres donc un vrai souci et des détails qui manquent. Nous sommes des habitués et c'est la 1ere fois que cela arrive.

Tout était conforme à mes attentes. L'accueil et le service à table avec certaines personnes étaient passables

Just near the beach, lovely building, charming staff. Thoughtful attention to detail: towels for beach, chocolates, room staff excellent. Good breakfast and had one evening meal, very good.

When we arrived we had an urgent need to get in our room and waited hours which was a great disappointment. We had booked the room a full year in advance and had paid and confirmed our arrival time and the room was still not ready. When we finally got into the room the shower dripped loudly. Someone came to mend it, but sadly it dripped all week. However the manager came to apologise and gave us a free breakfast which was kind and not expected.

Staff, rooms, view, location, cleanliness all excellent. This is a stylish and elegant hotel.

We had one dinner in the main dining room, which was somewhat disappointing in terms of rapport qualite/prix.

Perfect location at the beach with direct access to the promenade, great for walks. The hotel is very good - valet parking, swimming pool, great breakfast. Staff very polite and always helpful.

Bathroom in our room was uncomfortably small.

L’emplacement exceptionnel, la propreté et le confort général de l’établissement. Nous avons d’ailleurs choisi de prolonger notre séjour d’une nuit, ce qui témoigne de notre satisfaction globale.

L’établissement vient de rouvrir et cela se ressent encore dans le service. Le personnel est gentil, disponible et de bonne volonté, mais manque parfois des réflexes, de l’anticipation et de la discrétion attendus dans un hôtel 5 étoiles. Dommage également qu’un établissement de bord de mer de ce standing ne dispose pas d’une plage privée. À ce stade, l’expérience correspond davantage, selon moi, à un très bon 4 étoiles.

Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien conçues. La taille de l'hôtel en fait un lieu intime. Le buffet du petit-déjeuner, sans être exceptionnel, est très bon. La carte des mets déjeuners, snacks et dîners et leur qualité sont parfaites. Le tout servi sur une terrasse qui surplombe la promenade et la plage : le rêve ! L'accès direct à la plage par le spa est très pratique. La situation géographique est magnifique, sur la plage et au coeur de la baie!

É um hotel cinco estrelas que oferece um serviço cinco estrelas, simples assim. De início, destaco a localização do hotel, que fica à beira mar. Aliás, aí vai uma dica de ouro, o Spa do hotel (sensacional, a propósito) dá acesso direto à praia. Então você não precisa alugar barraca ou cadeira para tomar um banho de mar, basta sair do Spa pela porta exclusiva do hotel. Muito conveniente. Também destaco o atendimento profissional e atencioso dos funcionários. No dia da chegada fomos recebidos pelo Jonathan que cuidou do nosso carro (fiz reserva do estacionamento com antecedência) e providenciou uma reserva num restaurante próximo, sendo que chegamos em Saint-Jean próximo das 22:00. O nosso quarto era o standard, confortável porém de dimensões reduzidas, especialmente o banheiro. Mas, era o quarto básico. O bar do hotel fica de frente para o mar, portanto vale a pena tomar um aperitivo no pôr do sol. Enfim, gostamos muito do hotel. Voltaremos com certeza.

Un hôtel élégant et idéalement situé. Tout le personnel se montre particulièrement accueillant et aux petits soins. Mention spéciale pour la literie d'un grand confort et le spa, d'une esthétique remarquable, et qui offre un vrai moment de détente.

Malgré des chambres à la superficie un peu modeste, notre séjour a été parfait du début à la fin.

Excellent stay here with the family. The staff are always the most important people to ensure a perfect stay. With this in mind, the staff in the restaurant were fabulous and Eva at reception was very welcoming and made a great host. She is a huge asset for the hotel.

Der Service ist excellent und das Personal zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Das Gebäude das Restaurant und der Spa Bereich sind traumhaft und 2026 frisch renoviert. Die Sitzgelegenheit dort extrem komfortabel und das Mobiliar qualitativ hochwertig und esthetisch.

Für den hohen Preis erwartet man keine sehr guten sondern excellente Zimmer. Leider war die Duschkabine nicht dicht und wurde trotz Hinweis nicht repariert. An einer Stelle fehlte Putz. Das Zimmer war leicht abgewohnt und es wurde nicht jeden Tag gesaugt. Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass das Hotel direkt am Strand und die Hotelregelungen das Sandproblem nicht im Griff bekommen. Z.b. Teppiche, Fahrstuhl und Flure waren immer leicht versandet, da die Gäste vom Strand durch den Spa und Speisesaal laufen dürfen.

La habitación pequeña y con poco almacenamiento, el baño pequeño, y sobre todo la bañera muy alta y no tener opción de bañera y ducha en un Hotel de cinco estrellas. Considero que es más un cuatro estrellas alto que un cinco estrellas.

Absolument rien de significatif ou de rédhibitoire mais dans un souci d'amélioration permanente, quelques détails optimisables : Opacité insuffisante (pas entièrement à 100%) de la fenêtre de la salle de bains - Quelques (2 ou 3) tâches jaunâtres (ou rayures ? ou décolorations ?) sur le fond de la baignoire - Mécanique eau chaude/eau froide imparfaite (difficile d'avoir 100% d'eau froide) -

The location was tremendous. The food was superb. The staff were generally helpful and engaging. There was a small amount of arrogance but overall excellent.

The shower tended to soak the entire bathroom floor.i think its a bit of a design flaw, but a very minor issue

Una experiencia espectacular de principio a fin. El hotel es majestuoso, con la elegancia y el encanto de un verdadero palacio frente al mar. Las habitaciones están nuevas, son muy cómodas y cuentan con un precioso baño y un balcón con una vista impresionante. El spa y el circuito de talasoterapia son simplemente increíbles y valen completamente la experiencia. Además, la ubicación es perfecta para recorrer Saint-Jean-de-Luz caminando. Sin duda, volveríamos.

No tenemos nada negativo que mencionar. Todo estuvo a la altura de un hotel de esta categoría y disfrutamos muchísimo nuestra estadía.

Hung around for. 2 hours to get room got into room at 4.30 tried to book a table for dinner and were told they did not have a table available not good enough after spending 500€ for room with no breakfast we were very disappointed as it was first time there would we go back .?

Its location right on the beautiful beach and proximity to the town centre. The two concierges were on it! Most of the staff were well trained, polite and efficient - but one could sense there was an air of frustration throughout their demeanour.

Although we were told the hotel has had a recent makeover - and the outside indeed looked very elegant - a lot of the finer points in our junior suite had been overlooked! For example the WiFi was very intermittent meaning we weren’t able to use our bedside phone to call for room service or even to the reception - dangerous in an emergency. To charge our mobile phones overnight the light switch had to be on! Non-sensical. The size of our WC and bathroom were so small for a junior suite and not at all good value for what we expected. Breakfast and its layout was a shambles. A real pity as the hotel has obviously gone to great expense in upgrading - but someone needs to get hold of it and give it the 5 stars its location and building deserve.

The most beautiful place and people. The spa here made me feel like a princess. How lovely to go from the sauna, steam room or lap pool (with built in standing jacuzzi!?!) straight out to the sandy beach, into the ocean and back! +++++

Tout était parafait: l’accueil, la gentillesse du personnel, quel que soit le lieu de l’hôtel (restaurant, bar, accueil), le spa fraîchement rénové incroyable ! Vue sur l’océan magnifique (les couchers de soleil sont incroyables), j’ai aussi apprécié que le personnel passé en 2eme partie de journée vérifier que tout aille bien et nous offrir des chocolats ! Les petits déjeuners ont certes un coût mais sont faits avec des produits locaux et de qualité, en bonne quantité, et en y ayant passé la semaine je ne m’en suis pas lassée tellement le choix est vaste J’ai adoré ce séjour 🥰

Tout était parfait si ce n’est que la piscine était fermée une partie du séjour mais j’ai pu y accéder en fin de séjour et vraiment très agréable :) je reviendrai !

Beautifully located, elegant hotel. The staff were excellent, at the top of their game - welcoming, knowledgeable & helpful. The reception rooms were stunning & the terrace just perfect. Loved the spa, particularly the salt water swimming pool with views of the beach.

The bedroom was very small for the price paid & shower room cramped. I suppose that's the offset for staying in a historic building.

Beautifully designed common areas.

This hotel falls well short of what one would reasonably expect from a five-star establishment. While the room may technically meet the minimum size requirements for a five-star rating, the layout is poorly designed and feels more consistent with a four-star property. The room was so cramped that opening the wardrobe required squeezing through the narrow gap beside the bed. The wardrobe itself was inadequately sized, with hanging clothes obstructing the doors from closing properly. There was also insufficient space to open and store suitcases comfortably. The bathroom was equally disappointing. It consisted of a small, poorly designed shower area with a broken soap dispenser screwed to the wall and an unusually small toilet. Guests paying five-star prices would reasonably expect a spacious, well-designed bathroom with a quality shower, bathtub, and separate toilet facilities. At a cost of €875 for two nights, the accommodation represented extremely poor value for money and delivered, at best, a three-star experience. The service was equally disappointing. Apart from the receptionist who assisted us at departure, staff appeared largely indifferent to our concerns. We requested a room change due to our dissatisfaction, but this was refused. Hospitality at check-in was poor; despite arriving early, we were kept waiting until after 4:00 p.m. before being allowed access to our room. Many staff members appeared inexperienced and in need of further hospitality training. Our stay did not meet the standards, service, or comfort expected of a five-star hotel.

I’ve spent 3 days at Le grand Hotel, I’m so impressed with the personal service, the valet looked after my oversized véhicule, the room service was impeccable, the personal dedication and in room service which I really appreciated. The attention to detail and then…the restaurant - the linguine, the poisson du jour, a pleasure and a discovery! The magnificent Thalasso! I love the ambiance of the the salon where I could work in a relaxed environment. And then the departure, a personal touch - I have a 5 hour journey and the valet offered me water for the journey. The service at this hotel cannot be faulted from morning to night I felt I was cared for and it was an absolute pleasure!

If safety and trust are presumptions when you book a hotel room, think twice before choosing The Grand Hotel Spa & Thalasso. Our car sustained a very noticeable dent while in the care of the hotel’s valet. Bummer, but hardly the end of a vacation. What ruined it for us was the behavior of the hotel. They agreed to pay for the damage. Then, when I pressed them for payment, they repeatedly promised to send it. They wrote with the date that I would receive it. Then they wrote that it had been paid. I never received it. They stopped responding. I don’t trust them. That’s probably the nicest thing I can state about The Grand Hotel Spa & Thalasso.
