I made a booking online through booking.com as this is what came up when I put in the village hotel bury made the payment £186, got there after a long car journey from Birmingham to be told they had now cancelled my booking as they have a venue on and the rooms had been took I was left stood in reception the staff there was nothing they could do I asked if they could transfer my booking to there Ashton hotel they said no simply take it with with booking.con the next day which left me nowhere to stay and no money to re book anywhere I would never use that service again and would never book the hotel again as they was simply not interested,I messaged booking booking.com a few times no reply terrible services all round
clean modern room, great drinking and dining facilities onsite bar had sky sports too from every angle
winter quilt on the bed in summer time. difficult to sleep under
breakfast was good
Location of the hotel and facilities - especially the leisure club Room was very spacious and was in a quiet part of the hotel Shower was very good
Being charged for car parking - I have stayed at many hotels and never been charged. Price that I paid for 2 nights was quite high and I just felt it was a cheap way for the hotel to squeeze extra money from their guests Same comment applies to the gym - Not every guest will use the gym, but it is a nice addition to have a good selling point when trying to attract a client to stay at the hotel Bed was not very comfortable and my back was aching in the am - Good that there was extra space in the room, as I was able to stretch!! Room was quite warm and the fan noisy
Great and easy location to drive to. Spacious room, clean and comfy bed.
The room was very cold and we tried to switch on the heating but it did not come on. Our booking included breakfast but this was not reflected on the Village platform. Staff easily resolved the issue.
The breakfast
No hot water on the Saturday morning and room not cleaned
Staff (Isabelle) went above and beyond to help out, had trouble with one room, changed our room also moved all our belongings for us!!
Not clean, spiders everywhere, used wipes under bed, webs everywhere, hair in the floor in bathroom. Floor had definitely not been vacuumed and empty crushed water bottles left in the corner.
The hotel has charged us for room 217 even though I mentioned to the receptionist we booked and paid £114 to yourselves, when I checked my bank account £114 has been taken out by Village Hotel Bury also.
Great facilities & atmosphere
Parking charges for those staying
The rooms where very spacious the tv was nice
The bathroom door did not shut correctly so it left a gap so I could not have a shower and feel good. The bed did not feel comfortable the pillows was fine just my back felt it in the morning
Modern good size room facilities great
Not much to be honest
Very close to motorway but not filled with through traffic. Indoor swimming, sauna, steam room and gym are good for the customers and reasonably priced, as it the parking.
Catered to in-veg and non-halal diets. Breakfast options were therefore quite limited for Muslim guests, of which there were quite a few. No ac in the rooms and lighting was a bit poor with some.lights not working at all. They had fans, but it didn't really cool the room.
The staff was nice
Not hot water Demestic vilonce next door in hotel room so my wife couldnt sleep Cold spa pool bot heated Yes so overall not good
Everything we love it 😻
The hotel was lovely and clean ,
the big disappointment was that we were not informed of the car park charge and when you're paying 99.00 for your room I don't think it's necessary to charge you customers to park
Location and beds
No aircin
The staff, when we did see them, were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us visiting family. The rooms are ok. The pool and gym were very good. Good bar and entertainment area and nice to have an on-site cafe.
Self check-in?! Really? A 5 year old or Gen Z might love pressing the buttons and not seeing anyone but after the 15th screen of questions, tagging my own room key and trying to get checked in after a 6 hour drive was not my idea of a good time. Luckily someone came to serve us after we checked into the first of two rooms. (Yes no easy way of checking into two rooms at the same time. If you’re gonna do this then do some user experience testing first. lol). Apparently for new towels or toilet roll you have to place the request the day before. Ridiculous. Believe me. I’ve stayed in some of the worst hotels in the world and have never heard of such a stupid process.
Location.
Was All okay.
Everything was good
from check in to check out the staff were amazing and a big shout out to Megan who went above and beyond, you really made the stay memorable for us :-)
Was quit
Un clean cup carpet ripped no wfi on tv witch was paid food food not very nice or worth price rooms very small shower wasent clean would I stay again prob not Starbucks was ok don't get to go in any other things such as swim extra was fully booked to public witch is disconting
The staff was very helpful. Hotel was clean.
We had a leak coming from above. Reported to reception who moved us to another room.
Quiet location and the staff was helpful.
The cleanliness was appalling. From the condition of the elevator on the side of the building, we probably should have known what we were in for. When we looked underneath the bed for an item that had fallen, we found a significant amount of dust and an empty plastic bottle. Within the first 30 minutes of being in the room, my husband had already killed three spiders. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning. This is possibly the first hotel I’ve ever stayed in without it. The fans provided to us were also extremely dusty - dust immediately started blowing out of them as soon as we turned them on. Overall, the room felt poorly maintained and inadequately cleaned, and the lack of basic comfort made the stay very disappointing.
Nice room and facilities
Nothing
Originally came to the Village to use the gym but looking round and there’s more to it Had a great PT session with Darryl who formulated a programme for me and I have now booked more sessions with him. Top man and I am seeing results The lovely Hannah on reception downstairs lets you in to the gym always with a smile and is very helpful If you’re wanting to get and niggles or muscle strains sorted then Dominic is there as an independent sports therapist and will treat you on site. He’s fantastic at what he does and sorted my shoulder pain out no problem Coming out of the gym and if you need a nice tea or coffee or a snack then you can pop into the Starbucks that is on site. If you’re in luck you will be served by the lovely Millé who makes all varieties of coffee (I’m was stunned by how much choice there is) Really good all round experience from this hotel. Everyone wants to help you and make sure you’re comfortable with your visit
Joined up as a member recently, decided to use the facilities in the Pub & Grill and received impeccable service from Hollie and Sophie at the bar. Friendly chat, efficient service and could tell that they were well managed by Sophie the manager. Kayleigh from events came through to help during the busy service and was also super friendly. Usually I go to Ashton, however, I realise the service here is ten times of the one there, even when it was getting busy, they kept a smile on their face and worked like machines. They even managed to keep a conversation whilst being so busy! Thoroughly enjoyed my time.
Facilities though the rooms really need air con. The fan in the room was useless.
No air con. Food was very expensive. No draught beer and the coke was flat and watery
Should have an area for gluten free. Food
Location was good
Rooms noisy and hot, rooms very bland not nice looking carpets dirty.
Comfortable beds
In serious need of TLC. From external to internal, it’s in need of some attention. No air conditioning. A fan was provided with no remote so unable to increase/decrease speed or turn.
The village company has missed the point of human interaction. The ridiculous self check in which still requires a staff member to be present which takes way too long to check in and then in both times I have stayed hasn’t worked and then I have to speak to the staff who check me in within 15 seconds. I asked not to be placed near the gym but clearly the self check in doesn’t account for this so I was. I had paid for access to gym and pool but again the self check in asked if I wanted to add it to the booking for a fiver. The system doesn’t work and the company aren’t valuing the human interaction.
I regular attend the hotel restaurant where the staff are amazing in-particularly Marcus he is outstanding he shows true empathy and always goes over and above and has a special unique ability to communicate and manage the situation with any child that has additional needs, he truly is a credit to his own family and the village family my son adores him and it’s like a family atmosphere thanks to his ability to manage the situation both for the child and carer. Marcus your one in a million.
Lovely hotel and the rooms where quite spacious, Megan who helped us throughout was amazing.
Location was about the only good thing
Toilet in room not properly cleaned on arrival, very noisy with having a room overlooking the outdoor area of the function room
The property had spacious rooms for me and my kids
The facilities seemed out dated and the cleanliness was amazing. It was clean and hygienic just rough around the edges. I also didn't appreciate having to pay for parking as it wasn't included with the stay we only stayed a night so was only £5 but for a week it would add up a lot.
Love the jacuzzi. The rooms are lovely & bed is very comfortable.
Lifeguards not paying attention.
Bathroom good
Decoration tired Poor lighting I’ll fitting mattress topper Our view was of a concrete roof
Easy parking, helpful staff, great pool
My room was a bit of a confusing trek
Location fine for our needs due to having wedding there
Breakfast to expensive so did not have also no draught lager due to issues with pump and because weather being hot was not very good had bottle lager but choice limited
Clean and convenient
Nothing
Quiet location, very helpful staff and breakfast wasn't too bad.
We've stayed here a few times now stretching back over 15 years, but the rooms are just starting to look a little untidy, areas of peeling paint and wallpaper are appearing and it looks like it's time for a refresh. This was the first time I have noticed a drop in room cleanliness. We will stay again, as overall in its current state it's still acceptable, but only just.
Location. Staff excellent
No water in the rooms. Breakfast (cooked options) quality very poor. The scrambled eggs vile (? Powdered )
Friendly staff- nice calming atmosphere
The breakfast could of been a more variety
There is explanation of what you get for your dinner arrangement if you book it with the room. Turns out my drink was charged, only the food appears to be included. To compliment this, the charge was then automatically charged to the card that was used for the booking, which was not what I wanted and was not authorised by me. When I checked out and mentioned this, there was no offer to sort the issue, just a “There’s no further charge to be paid, it is all settled.” Customer service then never got back to me following my complaint. Sadly for them, they lost a new customer on his first stay, as I will never return.
Great value hotel, with friendly, helpful staff and a lively fun atmosphere. Pool and sauna facilities were also great and breakfast was excellent! Spacious modern rooms - we stayed in the ‘double double’ and it was perfect for a family of four
Не было заселения, сказали нет номеров, ошибка
Location is convenient. The food in the pub downstairs was very good though expensive.
I only stay here for the price and convenience. It is consistently poor in terms of the run down rooms. The worst part is the noise from the lobby and gym if you have the misfortune of being situated near them. They usually move you if they can but it's no good if they can't.
Staff so helpful and friendly
Aside from the location, this hotel is not worth staying at all. The rooms do not reflect the price you are paying. The bedding was ripped, the sink was blocked and despite letting the staff know of this repeatedly, they were of no help. Housekeeping staff were rude and abrupt when we mentioned we had a child with a medical condition so would need extra resources and it was very difficult to contact the staff as everything is managed via AI. There is no fridge or phone or extra facilities in the room. The central location is the only positive.
I'd never actually heard of Village hotels before my stay, and was recommended it by the friend I was popping up to visit and, oh yes, it was by far the best choice. It's not massively stylish or over the top, but everything it does, it does well. The ladies and gentlemen on reception were kind and always asked if I needed help when I was using the automatic check-in/out and even advised me on how to add an additional night. I didn't go to the Pub and Grill itself but I did order room service on my final night (boring, I know) and it was pretty damn tasty. The room was clean, massively spacious, the bed comfy and the bathroom really good too. If I'm popping back up to Bury, I'm definitely staying here.
Wonderful hotel staff are lovely especially Megan on reception so helpful always going the extra mile for us!
Great facility, we wathced the sfootball semifinal on the big screen
the gym was not available, under some renovations, we've benn unlucky and the cooling system for the draft beer was out of order so we spent a bit more on the usual drinks
Wonderful hotel has it all, my daughters loved the swimming pool! Staff in the P&G all welcoming, Megan on reception was great so smiley and accommodating! Chatting away with my daughters, honestly such a pleasant experience! Only negative the rooms are a bit outdated!
Perfect in every way can’t fault it for any thing
Friendly staff and great location
You have to pay for the car park and the swimming pool entrance
Everything great
That you had to pay for parking- it was only £5 but I so think that should be included in the stay
Friendly staff
No draught beer at the bar, some of the internal features were dated and could have been cleaner. Breakfast prices were too high and having to pay for parking was not a good touch
Swimming pool and gym
Basically a party hotel - never stayed in a hotel that is so noisy - eventually got another room removed from the hotel after their noise and smoking kept us awake until 4.30am
Beautifully presented clean and helpful staff
Bar food and drinks very expensive
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Particularly the bar staff
The bathroom. It was difficult to start the shower as the knob to switch from bath to shower was broken. The mattress had a dip in it.
Double charged n still not sorted
The location, beautiful view and comfortable room
Low pressure shower,
Clean and fun environment
Over 2 hour wait for food.
Friendly staff
Easy to find
The terrace areas could do with the paving slabs been relaid as the are all very uneven
The welcome and friendliness of the reception lad and barstaff.
Beds and pillows very hard. Room was stifling and the fan heater wasnt much use and was very noisy.
Breakfast was lovely
World cup England match was on. Wanted to eat dinner in the restaurant/bar but was told we couldn't reserve a table. We went early as wanted to watch the game plus eat & drink. Yet most of the tables were reserved for staff or close family & friends of the staff when we got in the restaurant. If we had paid apparently we could of have the table. Other than this everything was great
The room was amazing with a lovely view of the stream. Thr pool was lovely and the facilities were extremely clean
Location gym n swim ect
How dirty it was
I stay here a lot for work. Is what you’d expect from a group hotel but the staff are fantastic . I stayed here once as a disabled guest & there was a short term issue with the lift. Katy on reception couldn’t have been kinder and assembled a whole team of people to help make sure I was looked after & comfortable. Went above & beyond
It’s just worth noting that the disabled access is a lift at the side of the property.
Alison our host at the village hotel was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. From fixing air con/ plugs to topping up food drink. Thank you so much for all your help I really appreciate it 😁
Really attentive and hospitable. Looked after us during our stay. Just lovely.
Alison, our host, was amazing and really attentive. Thanks for a great day
No I didn't order anything.
Nice and clean good on site facilities
Nothing
What a great facility . Excellent food, room , bar , reception and general customer service. I felt so welcome and only here for 2 days. I teach classes at the Hull Village and spend lots of money whilst working on site doing my second job, I,ve also stayed over a few nights for functions . I dont know why but apart from the bar/food service staff I just don't feel welcome there even when paying . I am no hassle and just go about my duties but feel uncomfortable being looked at spoken to like I have 2 heads or even totally ignored. Bury is the total opposite . Come on Village customer service should be consistent across all sites , especially when I am paying
The bed was lovely and comfortable, far exceeded other hotels. Liked the Starbucks and jacuzzi
Odd colours in the corridors, a bit dingy. Staff quite miserable on reception. A lot of odd characters hanging around at night
Comfortable & easy check in
Room was very hot
Everything, the staff, the facilities, the cleanliness of the whole place, everything was brilliant
I honestly couldn't find fault, very rare in this day and age
Great pool facilities
A little noise
Village hotel have always been to a good standard in all my previous visits
Parking charge what a joke, It may be acceptable to charge for parking when located in the centre of a city but most the Village Hotels are not which is why i choose them.
The room was lovely and clean and the bed was very comfy all staff was very friendly and helpful the best part of the stay was that we could still use the leisure area after we checked out. I had an amazing day using the pool and sauna with some sunbathing
Because we booked last minute on booking.com the check in process took about 20 minutes
Didn't have breakfast. Great location Very clean
Information regarding parking fees Could have been informed about varied prices of parking fees so I could have paid the £7.50 instead of £10 I was chargedcomfortable
I have been all over the world and never seen pillows fluffed liked this
Katie the receptionist was exceptional
Katie the receptionist dosent work 24/7
Personale var meget hjælpsomme
Standart af værelset ikke god, meget nedslidt og alt for dyrt i forhold til hvad man fik for pengene.
Claire and Dani always make it an easy stay while on business in Bury, Welcoming and very friendly at all times. Thank you!
I loved my stay at the hotel, we had a great night's sleep and the staff were really friendly and helpful, the girl on the desk, I believe her name was Maxine, was super fantastic and went above and beyond for us. Thanks for such a terrific stay and keep up the good work
A fantastic on arrival from Maxine, helped me get checked in. Hotel clean, facilities good, good bar area to watch the football. Would highly recommend the hitel
Stayed here a few years ago with the Mrs and had a brilliant time and experienced excellent service so thought we’d return. Not much had changed since I last stayed from what I can recall apart from the pool/gym area seems to have been updated and the bar menu has changed. Food fantastic, most staff are attentive and welcoming. Special shout out to Maxine on the desk she was a diamond. She became a friendly face during my short stay, nothing too much trouble. I would definitely return again when I am next in the Bury area.
I had a great experience staying here with my family. The staff were exceptional. Maxine, at the reception was an absolute delight, she was so helpful, welcoming and went above and beyond. Will definitely be back!!
The location
No air con.in the rooms, so warm couldn't stay in the room, stayed outside to keep cool, staff didn't want to know really stating that all fans had been given.out. horrendous night sleep due to heat
Very cheap stay and health suite and pool was included with breakfast. The bed sheets and towels were very clean its just heavily used and shows wear. The staff were very busy yet friendly. It's a bustling little place to just get a night away from the kids or if your just passing through.
Just could do with a bit of tlc in the sleeping and corridor areas.
Looked really nice
Food was poor quality for the price had buffalo wings looked more like pigeon wings and at 10.40 bit of a con and a mixed grill at £30 pound very poor quality food for the cost .The room was very basic the fan in the room was rubbish and having to pay to park and use the swimming pool as a guest you would of thought one maybe made available as part of yiur stay ?
Close proximity to the Arcade Club and some great food places. Breakfast was great and staff were lovely.
Restaurant was nice and good meal
Rooms were not that great, considering the brand of the hotel and expectations not as reputation
Was in the area so stayed here as it was extremely hot day in June, thinking we would get a lovely air conditioned room. How wrong were we !! The rooms don't have air-conditioning and was provided with a fan that had the output of an asthmatic dog. If its a hot time of year stay elsewhere, you will deeply regret staying here .
Clean spacious and modern, lots to offer and love there was a Starbucks downstairs for a morning coffee
Nothing
Nice atmosphere, good facilities, location was good for what we wanted.
Only one thing we found disappointing and that was the noise through the walls and ceiling to room above and from the stair case next to us.
Komfort i czystość okey
Jedzenie lipa, przy tych stekach jajecznica z proszku bardzo słabe
