Nada.
Everything was more than what I expected , the facility , the room , the ambiance , the atmosphere the choice of food will excellent. The buffet was excellent.\nSo many choices to choose from.
I'm not sure what could have been better because I didn't expect without experience , so it was good overall.
Serviço impecável, all inclusive padrão 5 estrelas , piscinas diversas e muito agradáveis
The reason I gave my experience at the Rivera a low score is the following. Foremost it is a CONFRENCE center. Which means it could have the potential to house hundreds……. of conventioneers! Which it does and all the functions that go with it. Concert, Massive parties etc. The hotel planners do an excellent job in this area! Unfortunately, they never considered the other guest staying there. The problem is they host all of the events SMACK DAB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOTEL COMPLEX. Not at the massive convention center. The entry and entertainment area is four stories tall and all stone, cavernous, beautiful, the rooms surround it on either side, five stories tall in a semi-circle. Sound carries and amplifies by the stone and the open patio design. The DJ’s music travels up and into the halls through the rooms located anywhere near the center of the Rivera. My pillow even thumps with the beat!! Ear plugs did not help.! We were on the 4th floor oceanfront. Every night entertainment would start around nine. Some lasted till midnight. If you are a partier or a conventioneer, you are all set. We were left sleepless at the Riveria. While you are on the beach relaxing you are approached by the employees to go play volleyball, dance class, go to the spa etc.. I felt bad for them because no one seemed too excited about those things. If I wanted to go, I would have, the speaker system is very loud and they announce everything. The breakfast and lunch buffet is the best out of the 5 hotels and delicious. The staff is amazing! The beach is the best out of the five hotels. The rooms are well appointed. The facility itself is spotless and well maintained. Really anything you ask for is yours. Except for a peaceful night’s sleep. We want to go back. BUT………We will NOT be staying at the Riveria. We will stay at the Palace and take a shuttle to the Riveria for the beach, breakfast, and lunch there. We will sleep safely in another location.
We loved everything about the property. Easily walkable and so beautifully thought out. All the staff were very helpful, attentive, and friendly. The pool was a nice enough temperature to cool you down but not freezing, and it was so expansive there was room for everyone. It was nice to see them cleaning the pool throughout the day to keep it as fresh as possible. The beach was absolutely perfect for the majority of our stay but the sargassum did take over for a few of the days, even with the staffs very best efforts to maintain it. This really didn’t affect us at all, we just stayed at the pool and enjoyed the music and entertainment. Our room was carefully presented, clean, and had everything we could possibly need.
Just to start it off, this was my first all inclusive hotel experience aside from a Cruise ship. This was a trip for our honeymoon so we chose the adults only property. Didn't want the kids running around. The food was the only thing that we had an issue with at the property. I understand that buffets are not always perfect but for an adults only area I thought it would be different and taste better. Not to sound too harsh but my wife and I honestly dreaded breakfast and lunch everyday because of the quality of food. Might've actually lost a little weight on this trip due to lack of wanting to eat. We did go to the other hotels and tried there food as well and it wasn't much better. Presentation was better but the taste was the same to us. I wanted some good fresh Mexican food here and just never got it. Our dinners were great. Ate at 3 of the 4 restaurants the property. Decided against French option only because we wanted to try others more than this one. SAPPORO is one I Highly recommend because of the show and quality of food. DELICIOUS. AGAVE - Very good food, My wife and I loved the Taco Bar over table service. DOLCE VITA - We love Italian food but not this place. Not great. One of the best perks to this hotel is access to the other properties and with that we chose to try MARENOSTRUM, KYOTO and SANTE FE Steakhouse. SANTE FE - skeptical of this one but it was actually one of favorites. My wife had a Ribeye and i had a New York steak, somewhat salty for both of them but still very good. KYOTO - very similar to Sapporo but the show was a little better. MARENOSTRUM - This place was good but it wasn't great. Wife had grouper since lobster was out of season and I had Lamb (too picky of a seafood eater to try). Grew up in Alaska where seafood is SUPERB. Hope my rambling wasn't to redundant and helps a little with your choices since you have so many options to pick from and so little time to try. STAFF - Sensational. Learn basic Spanish to help with language barrier, highly recommended. Mixed drinks were not consistent when ordering at bars. Example, ordering double shots sometimes got confused with 2 drinks. ROOM - We did governors suite (my jaw dropped when I walked in) and premium level. Big groups, one person needs this room to help host people all in one place. Not needed for just one couple though unless you need to flex. PREMIUM - not fully worth the up charge in my opinion. I drank Jameson instead of whatever rail whisky they had. Private buffet was empty almost the entire week we were here so that was nice. POOL BAR - We spent most of our time here and loved it. Got the same chair the whole week. Big benefit to the adults only property. We loved the music side over the quiet. POOL - Never overly crowded and offered lots of activities. Maybe needs to be cleaned more frequent. BEACH - seemed like sand over cement but very clean and not over crowded. Sargassum was very present this time frame. Bring water shoes since it is quite rocky. Excursions - DO the sunset sailing catamaran excursion. So Fun. RESORT - Spotless in every aspect, so clean for how big of a property it was. The bus that takes you around is very helpful. Very walkable property but if you're tired or maybe a little older the bus was very nice to have. Waters are available at every establishment. Personnal note to everyone. I'm the furthest thing from a doctor BUT KEEP APPLYING SUNSCREEN EVERY HOUR. Sun was intense and saw way to many people getting fried. Onto the resort as a whole. I loved this property and would definitely come back in the future. As a foodie it sucks but as a whole it really met all of our expectations.
Overall, this resort was a mixed experience and didn’t meet expectations, particularly on service and consistency. Check-in was scheduled for 3:00 pm, but my room wasn’t ready until 3:45. What made this more frustrating is that my friends, who booked through a travel agent, received early check-in at 2:00 pm and a complimentary upgrade to ocean view. I am a My Barceló member and paid $200 per night for an upgrade, yet received neither early access nor any recognition of loyalty. That was disappointing. The room itself was fine but had several annoyances: * Air conditioning was inconsistent — set to 22°C, and the ceiling fan turned off when lights were off * The temperature control panel and other lights (phone, ceiling) made the room surprisingly bright at night * No kettle, only an older-style coffee maker Service issues were a recurring theme. A friend had no hot water for three days and her safe didn’t work the entire trip. Getting help was frustrating — you’re often given a number to call, but nothing happens, and you end up having to go to the front desk in person. Dining was mixed. Breakfast and lunch are buffet-only, and the selection doesn’t change much. By day three, it becomes repetitive and uninspiring. Service across the resort was generally just okay — not unfriendly, but not warm or proactive. Dinner, however, was better. The à la carte restaurants were generally quite good, and meals there were a highlight compared to the buffet. That said, service in the restaurants was still average and didn’t elevate the experience. The beach was unfortunately unusable during our entire 7-night stay due to heavy seaweed. The resort did attempt to clear it each morning, but it returned quickly, so we ended up spending all our time at the pool. To be fair, the resort itself is large, modern, and functions adequately, and we were still able to enjoy time together. However, the lack of consistent service, uneven dining, and operational issues made this feel more like an average experience than a high-quality one. This is a large, high-volume resort, and the service reflects that. It may be a good fit for travelers looking for a reasonably priced, all-inclusive experience who are less focused on service consistency. For those who prioritize strong service, good dining across all meals (not just dinner), and a more seamless experience, this may not be the best choice. Overall, I would rate this property around 2.5 to 3 out of 5 — acceptable, but with several areas that need improvement, especially given the price point and expectations.
The AC in our room was not working for 4 out of the 6 nights we stayed. It made everything in our room wet and it didn't even cool down the room. Front desk said nothing was wrong with it, but we had to open the balcony door AND our front door to have ventilation to dry out the room. Our bedsheets and clothes and all were all wet from the AC condensation. TV broke twice, safe wouldn't open half the time. Front desk is hard to get a hold of to fix the issues. Was on hold for 20 mins at one point. Location and facility is nice aside from the room issues. Food is good, vibes are good. Staff is friendly. Just wish we had a better room.
Excellent experience at Restaurant Agave! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. A big thank you to Crystian and Candelario, who were amazing servers—attentive, professional, and very friendly. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Miramar Buffet thanks to Madai Aguilar and Martin Cituk! From the moment we arrived, they were both so warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us, always checking in with a smile and making us feel so welcomed. The service was outstanding, and their positive energy truly made our visit memorable. It’s rare to come across people who care this much about their guests, and it really shows. Thank you, Madai and Martin, for making our experience so special!
Hotel is beautiful and staff is great. The beach is terrible, full of rocks and you can’t get into the water due to the Sharp rocks. Saw many tourists get injured. We had the worst food experience, look forward to cheap recycled food options, deep fried and lowsy burgers. A true disappointment. There are a lot of other options in Maya Riviera. Definitively wont’t choose another Barceló Hotel ever!
Came for a week with my friend for the all-inclusive experience. Highly recommend! Top-notch food and service. Immaculate clean grounds. Even a little of wildlife! We enjoyed this resort out of the others in the property as we are Gen X and it’s mostly chill vibes, not kids partying. Highly recommend. Muchas Gracias! We will be back.
Great place to stay Very clean Great food choices The coffee bar it’s great and the staff it’s very friendly and professional
Silver was super awesome, we had the best time! We always looked forward everyday to the activities he had! 100/10 experience
Amazing dining experience at the Agave restaurant. This restaurant allows you to choose from taco bar or restaurant style dining. Highly recommend the taco bar experience! All you can eat tacos with amazing service. Yeah, we have the pleasure of being served by Elena,Carlos and Hermelindo. The two chefs preparing the tacos in front of you were fantastic! Thank you to chef Conchita and Chef Gabriel.
Finally after 13 stays at the Barcelo maya complexe (we’ve stayed at all 5) we got the opportunity to stay at the Riviera adults only. It was all that we expected and more. Our dining experiences at all 4 restaurants were of high quality with enough choices to suit everyone’s palate. The service was very professional and were of high standard. We ate at all four à la cartes with our favourite being La Comédie (the French restaurant). Josefina (the m’aitre d’) is doing an outstanding job. The breakfast and lunch offerings in the buffet has the widest variety of choices we have ever seen in a buffet restaurant. There was absolutely everything one could possibly desire, and with a very high degree of quality. The room was beautiful with an extra large king bed and a jacuzzi on each balcony. There was no shortage of towels. The hotel public areas were clean and well maintained. We encountered no issues the entire week we were there. We will definitely be back! We want to say a special thank you to the following individuals who have helped make our vacation a wonderful experience: Benito Garcia, m’âitre d’ at la dolce vita (Italian restaurant) Erving Ayala, manager Emir Hernandez, Sommelier A very special thank you to Julio Cesar Castellanos who is doing an excellent job. He is always willing to help in any kind of situation. Recommendation: premium level guests should be offered a higher level of beer, wine and spirits.
On our last day, we decided to have breakfast at the buffet. The hotel had a convention going on, and even though most tables were full, Lillianna y Yoandro were very attentive and handled the chaos very smoothly.
Review: Barcelo Maya Riviera – Adults Only, All‑Inclusive Resort I recently stayed at the Barcelo Maya Riviera and was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. This adults‑only, all‑inclusive resort offers a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and thoughtful design, making it an excellent choice for couples, friends, or anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Location & First Impressions Situated along a beautiful stretch of Riviera Maya coastline, the resort has a modern, sleek aesthetic that stands out from many traditional Caribbean‑style properties. The open‑air lobby gives a striking first impression, with sweeping views of the sea and clean architectural lines that set the tone for the stay. Rooms The rooms are spacious, spotless, and extremely well presented. Most feature ocean views, and many include private hot tubs on the balcony. Beds are comfortable, and the large bathrooms—complete with rainfall showers—add to the sense of luxury. The soundproofing is impressive, contributing to a genuinely quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Food & Drink One of the major highlights is the dining quality. The resort offers a mix of buffet and à la carte restaurants, and the food is consistently tasty with good variety. The speciality restaurants are particularly strong, with excellent presentation and flavours. Bars are plentiful, serving top‑shelf options, and the cocktail service around the pool is quick and friendly. Pool & Beach The main pool is enormous and beautifully designed, with plenty of loungers and easy access to drinks. The vibe is calm and adult‑centred—no loud music or overcrowding. The beach is lovely, though parts can be rocky, so water shoes may be helpful. The water is clear, warm, and ideal for casual swimming or relaxing by the shore. Service Service throughout the resort is consistently warm and attentive. Staff are friendly without being intrusive, and most interactions feel genuine. Check‑in and check‑out are efficient, and service in restaurants is generally quick and well organised. Spa & Activities The on‑site spa is excellent, offering high‑quality treatments in a tranquil environment. Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the gym facilities, and there are plenty of optional activities such as snorkelling, tennis, and live evening entertainment shared with the wider Barcelo complex. Overall Verdict Barcelo Maya Riviera is a superb adults‑only resort offering luxury, serenity, and excellent value. Whether you're looking to unwind by the pool, enjoy great food, or celebrate a special occasion, it’s a fantastic choice. i have also stayed at the order hotels on the resort I would happily recommend it and would definitely return.
We have been to Barcelo Maya Riviera multiple times and have found this resort to be an exceptional value. Our latest trip included a reunion with my wife’s sister, who we haven’t seen in 25 years. This was her first trip out of Russia. The room was very clean and housekeeping did an excellent job of providing extra towels and keeping the room spotless. Every request for additional soap and beverages was fulfilled promptly. The buffet at breakfast and noon was above average and the choices were way more than adequate. Eggs cooked your way, plenty of sausage and bacon, even gluten free and vegan areas, immense number of fruit and fresh juice. Lunch buffet had rib roast one day, pork roast another and everyday burgers, fish, steaks cooked to your specs plus the usual trays of every imaginable choice. We also ate every evening meal at the à la carte restaurants on site. Favorite was the Italian followed by Mexican, French and Japanese. We had no issue making our reservations at close to our time of choice. The drinks were all good and plentiful. We are beach enthusiasts and had no issue of people hogging and saving chairs. Plenty of the recliners throughout the beach area. There is almost a kilometer beach available going towards Barcelo Palace. Lots of fish and amazingly several turtles that will eat bananas. Some rocky areas but mostly clean and raked sand. Every staff member we encountered appeared to be enthusiastic and happy to be a Barcelo employee. Also, there were plenty of activities to keep busy and entertained each day. The nightly lobby shows were fun and enthusiastic. All in all, a very pleasant and enjoyable 10 days. Well worth the expense and we will be back again in June or July. The only negative we found was that no smoking areas were not enforced. Mexican law does not allow smoking in beach areas but this was ignored.
I stayed at Barceló Maya Riviera a year ago and returned expecting the same high-quality experience, but unfortunately there has been a noticeable decline in customer service and overall guest experience. During my stay, basic requests were repeatedly overlooked. After housekeeping removed the decorative pillows from the couch/bed, I had to ask seven times for an extra pillow before it was finally delivered. This lack of follow-through was frustrating and disappointing. The restaurants also appear to be significantly understaffed. At the taco bar, I ultimately left without ordering because a server never came to our table. The buffet was frequently closed, and when open, the food options felt repetitive and noticeably lower in quality compared to my previous visit. While the beach itself is absolutely beautiful, securing a beach chair has become extremely difficult. You essentially need to be there at sunrise to claim a spot, which detracts from the relaxed resort experience one would expect. This is especially disappointing because I had planned to book this resort for a third year in a row based on how wonderful my experience was last year. Sadly, due to the lackluster guest service and overall decline, I will not be returning. It’s truly a shame to see such a beautiful property going downhill.
It was a very poor experience. This hotel is a cement box. They think it is a modern architecture, but it is most inconvenient structure. Miles of walking in closed corridors. Staff is not rude, but unpleasant, not willing to show any hospitality. Worst beach in Mexico. Very shallow and unpleasant sands, you literally cannot swim. Food is mediocre, definetly not 5 star hotel. Not tasty. Not interesting. We took shuttle and every day went to Barvelo Palace to enjoy the beach and their food. Ridiculous: we paid more, but enjoyed less rated place. Room service us really bad. They were cleaning our room around 3-4, when we wanted to be in the room. The quality of the room service was below standard. Only 4 restaurants in addition to buffet, but you have to be creative to schedule them. Each time we were offered 9 pm time. I do not recommend this resort. It is overpriced and will not satisfy you. I cannot name at least one thing i liked. Big rooms, but our fridge did not work, there was no light on the deck etc. Obviously we will not go back. I regret every penny of our “vacation”.
Travelled with husband and two adult children the week before Christmas. We have stayed at this Barcelo in the Palace section (this is our 8th stay), but this was our first time at the Adults only. We were very pleased with the property, everything was lovely, clean and well kept. We did find the overall vibe a bit "sterile" compared to the other bit of the resort, but overall do like the modern look. The resort was very busy, but we still easily got beach chairs daily. We walked down to the Palace end for snorkelling, as there is not good snorkelling off the beach at the adult's only. We were impressed by the meals we had at the a la cartes and the buffet food was great. The staff at the a la carte were fantastic, and I really enjoyed Janet at La Dolce Vita-thank you! We did find that the buffet seating area was extremely noisy, and the service some days was poor-food however, was great. As experienced previously, the house wine is awful--we don't drink during the day, and just wish that we could get a couple of good glasses of wine with our meal as we don't get the "value" of our alcohol portion of the all inclusive! At the very least, I would love to see a corkage option, as we would bring our own wine. (the pricing of wine to purchase is unreasonable). Overall very happy with the vacation. The property is beautiful and we love doing sunrise walks, playing pickleball and paddle, snorkelling, lounging on the beach and eating like kings. We would choose this resort again.
My stay at Barcelo Maya Riviera Adults Only was deeply disappointing and, at times, genuinely frightening. During my visit, I was within 10–20 meters of an area where a section of the cement ceiling and beams suddenly collapsed. Hearing and witnessing that impact was terrifying, and it raised serious concerns about the resort’s structural safety. I have photographs documenting the incident, which only reinforce how dangerous the situation was. Unfortunately, the collapse wasn’t the only issue that made this stay unacceptable: Premium package, poor service: Despite paying for the premium level, I waited 45 minutes just to check in. Embarrassing treatment in the lounge: When I politely asked to take a small plate of snacks outside—promising to return the dishes—a staff member refused and instead dumped my food into disposable coffee cups. This gesture felt disrespectful and completely unnecessary. No access to dinner reservations at other resorts, which contradicts what premium guests are led to expect. Constant construction noise: Loud jackhammering and other construction sounds began early in the morning and continued late into the evening, making it impossible to relax. Inconsistent drink quality, even though the food itself was good. I have stayed at many top-tier resorts around the world, and I have never felt so neglected or poorly treated—especially after paying extremely high prices for the hotel stay should have been a high-end experience. Between the unsafe infrastructure, the lack of professionalism, and the overall failure to meet basic service expectations, I cannot recommend this resort to anyone. Until Barcelo addresses these serious safety and service issues, I strongly advise looking elsewherehe management showed no genuine concern, no follow-up, and no acknowledgment of how serious the incident was. My wife and I were traumatized, yet our safety and emotional well-being were treated as an afterthought. When I reached out privately to discuss the incident and request reasonable compensation, I was told there was “no incident that justifies compensation,” a statement that perfectly illustrates the hotel’s dismissive attitude. Their priority seemed to be covering up the damage quickly, not addressing the impact on guests who were nearly injured. This level of disregard for customer safety and concerns is completely unacceptable.
This is a beautiful spot for adults only. The 4 pools are huge, with plenty of room to float around. You can always find something good to eat at the buffet for breakfast and lunch. For dinner you can go anywhere on the Barceló property with a reservation. We come back every year because we love it here so much! Ask for Martine at breakfast, he’s a wonderful server and a really nice guy.
I’m a club member staying here from October 21-November 11. So far my best experience and as always is from Alberto from the buffet at AO . He’s the best.. best customer service ever. He’s always so attentive. He gets me smoked salmon with capers cause he knows I love them. So far no greeting for my birthday or anything from the club but he even made sure his fellow staff members wished me happy birthday cause he was off on his birthday same as mine. I can’t say enough good things about him. We’ve been coming here for a few years snd it’s sooo nice to see his friendly face. He really is good at his job. Taco bar staff as well Javier, the main attendant there plus all the others working sang happy birthday and made it special for me. Thanks Barcelo .. make sure these people know how much I appreciate them.
My fiancé and I stayed at this resort from April 23 to May 6 while attending the Dr. Joe Dispenza seminar. We looked forward to relaxing for a few days afterward, but unfortunately, our experience was ruined by how the hotel handled a serious situation. On our second day, my fiancé bit into a rock hidden in his salad, breaking his tooth in half. We immediately went to the front desk to report it. The staff member called the manager, who seemed nervous and dismissive. She implied that my fiancé was lying and refused to take responsibility. I speak Spanish, so there was no misunderstanding about what had happened. After almost an hour of back-and-forth, the only help she offered was a couple of Advil pills and a form to sign. The next day, when the pain worsened, we insisted on seeing a doctor at the resort. The doctor was professional and confirmed that his tooth was severely damaged, prescribing medication for the remainder of our stay. Before we left, the general manager met with us, apologized, and promised to file a report with their insurance. He said we’d receive follow-up information. It’s now been over five months, and despite multiple emails and WhatsApp messages, we’ve heard nothing back. My fiancé had to pay $1,000 out of pocket to repair his tooth—even with insurance. This resort showed no accountability, no empathy, and no sense of responsibility for what happened on their property. What started as a dream vacation turned into an extremely disappointing experience filled with disrespect, delays, and broken promises.
Clean room
Our room was an Oceanview room- very clean, large, and well appointed. The pools were clean, bar service friendly, dining was very good. Buffet was superb! Hibachi was the best I ever had We didn’t do the entertainment- We will be back
Amazing views
We loved the beds in the Adults Only facility. The food at the Taco Bar was so good.
It’s very calm and elegant. Big place No kids!!!!
This is third time I visit this facility, this is what I saw so far this time: A decrease in facility conveniences: Buffet closing at 6:00 pm. This was a major inconvenience having to go to other restaurants at other hotels by walking or having to take a bus to Dine. The exclusion of food at the specialty restaurants. The variety of food was not good, food did not look fresh at the Buffet (sometimes we will find some food still frozen from previous day) We went to rent or use aquatic attractions (never had the chance to, the staff was either at lunch, or they say that the weather conditions weren’t great with no wind and no cloud in the sky) Bartenders hiding premium alcohol behind the bar (very upsetting and did not feel like the money was well spent on premium level) Lack of personnel at the pool bar (there was always the same bartender the whole day having to attend dozens of customers delaying the service and quality of time. AC stopped working first day and they have it fixed at 21 C which after a long day under the sun and being in a tropical weather we found it very high, we felt hit at in the room and sweating in the mornings. Last but not least: Promoting vacations in dictatorship regime countries such as Cuba were people are dying because of the lack of responsibility of the government that lucre with tourist money to oppress their people, and the hotels, conditions, service is BAD Overall not very happy with the experience, this is last time I visit Barceló
I absolutely loved this place
Everything about this place screams perfecto!!
Very impressed!!
Very clean property, friendly staff, delicious food, very rocky beach. I recommend it if you like swimming pools.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We truly lucked out with our stay at Barceló Maya Riviera – Adults Only. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless and welcoming. The resort itself is stunning—modern, clean, and beautifully designed with gorgeous ocean views everywhere you turn. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we loved the little details that made it feel special. The staff deserve a special mention—they were always so warm, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile. Dining was another highlight, with so many delicious options to choose from, and every meal felt like an experience. The pool area and the adults-only atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax, recharge, and truly enjoy our vacation. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a mix of luxury, relaxation, and great service. 🌴✨
Very good
The service, drinks and food was terrible. Ur party rooms all of them has some issues. The buffet was until 6pm only afther that you can go only to speciality restaurants, only few of them where good the bestone was the Caribbean, and ur server that was the best employee of the entire hotel the rest just trash. Pool was dirty most of the time, the beach really bad. The entertainment to loud, like to loud lol. Also we cant even use water bicycle. Cuz personal was trying to force customers to rent the jetsky, and other things they have. So we coulnd use the free water entertainment stuff. Also if you want to rent a jetski you need to be there before 11am or have to wait until 3pm. Thats stupid. And also ot was far from ur hotel and pool.
100% will be staying here again, very clean, pool is HUGE, drinks are amazing! 10/10
Friendly staff,
One of the best vacations I have had in my life so far I highly recommend!!
Food was great, staff was friendly, and the property / pools are always in immaculate condition.
Comfortable bed… hot at night…. extremely hot in the rooms and walking distance is long. Other than that nice stay.
Very clean resort! Expected a little more for the adults only side.
Hotel is very clean, the staff is very friendly, many dining option in the buffet and you have option to visit all the hotels in the Barceló complex and the different restaurants is included. All restaurants offers excellent service and food options. I’ll recommend this hotel.
Our 4th time there we just love AO
Been going there for 20 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
The service was great. All the restaurants at night were fabulous
Amazing
We had a incredible time. Everything was so perfect. Everybody was so nice The food was excellent. We’re happy to be able to come bqck are second time and maybe for sure make plans to come back for are 3rd time with Barceló maya adults Only thank you very much to all the staff
Very clean and quiet place to relax Have everything you need
overall great experience
Barcelo Maya Riviera is a top notch all inclusive resort bar none! The infinity pool, the rooms and the food is where the Barcelo excel from the rest of competition. To top that with their superb staff and excellent service makes this place top destination in Mexico. This is our second time here with my family. Definitely coming back again! Thanks a lot for making our stay a very special one!
Good service. Clean. My group loved the restaurants we got a chance to eat at. But didn’t have a buffet for dinner
Very immaculate and relaxing
There was a lot of sargassum along the beaches in the Barcelo Maya complex which brings a bad smell.
So awesome
Very nice.
The place was absolutely beautiful loved the scenery room, drinks and restaurants. Only wish there were more things to do at night with activities that were fun and didn’t end so early as well. Also transportation would take a while cause it definitely was not walking distance in the heat but luckily there was a transportation to go to the other resorts. Also to do water activites if you didn’t get to the place early, most likely you wouldn’t have a chance to do any of the activites cause it would get booked quickly since there are so many resorts and one place to book it all.
La experiencia horrible aburrido ,la comida vieja no muchos restaurants y para el como me cobraron $225 dollars por Lavar las sabanas ,te cobraron hasta por limpiar el Sargazo estaban sucia las playas,no sieve por el precio Q Cuesta
Amazing resort
Stylish, spacious rooms (e.g., Junior Suite Ocean Front with hot tub) and well-appointed amenities, Home to what’s often hailed as the largest infinity pool in Riviera Maya, complete with swim-up bars and vibrant atmosphere, Dining appears more flexible here: unlike other properties, there are no a-la-carte restrictions for adults-only guest, highly recommended!!
I wasn’t convinced by the buffets here. Food was mostly cold, and flavorless. I did enjoy the views, but wasn’t a fan of their service. Most employees are not attentive to you, you must have to wave them down. The big pool there with the swim up bar has green algae
The service and staff gave poor effort and keeping the rooms clean. My breakfast stayed in my room a whole day and I called for cleaning and service multiple times. They tried to add on room service by giving me false information. The area was great , and other staff was friendly .
5th stay and still impressive. The tireless effort of the staff must be complimented particularly those cleaning the beach. We find the BMR adults only fulfills our expectations. Resort is always clean, staff are exceptional and food overall excellent.
Amazing experience. Everything super clean. The food was very delicious. I have nothing bad to say about this Hotel. I recommend it 100%.
Amazing vacation
NOT at all inclusive more like open bar. EVERYTHING is 20$ extra, bowling, water slides, haunted house, ice skating. Genuinely disappointed. Beaches were not taken care of and there was piles of seaweed everywhere. We had a suite with a pool and they came and cleaned it once throughout our seven day stay. There was feathers, and all sorts of bugs in our pool for multiple days even after calling and asking them to clean it. Would not ever come here again. Ripoff for how much money it is.

Felt like a luxury resort, except for the food. Quality and options did not match the rest of the experience.
The property is beautiful. The views are amazing.
Loved Barceló!! Fantastic food and great options at the buffet. Gorgeous updated room with a view and jacuzzi. Gorgeous infinity pools overlooking the Caribbean! Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!!
It was OK experience it was big quiet and safe. However, the dining and the food overall was horrible.. also the staff were not very helpful.
Thanks
Great stay just a lot of walking. Wish there were more food options at night on the adult side. The lobby bar had some but a few more options would have been great.
Everything was good, room, pools, beach, shows, restaurants a la carte, all really good.
There is only one restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and the three days of our stay the food was always similar in the breakfast and lunch.
I’ve stayed at several Barceló resorts, but the Barceló Riviera Adults Only in Riviera Maya just raised the bar again. From the killer customer service to the endless buffet, top-notch restaurants, gorgeous beach, massive pool, strong drinks, nonstop entertainment, and activities for every mood...it was perfection from start to finish. Barceló just doesn’t miss. Highly recommend. 👌
Everything was more than expected- absolutely stunning properties, helpful, friendly staff, all food options were delicious.
This was my first time reviewing a place I stayed, but Barcelo Maya Riviera truly deserved it. From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their kindness. Although our room wasn’t ready at check-in, they quickly reassigned us to another available room so we could settle in right away. Every interaction—from front desk to servers and bartenders—was friendly and accommodating. Most restaurants offered four-course meals and happily provided extra dishes for us to sample. We spent most of our time by the pool near the Music Bar, where the bartenders were efficient and fun, and even tho we know they were on the clock, it look like they were actually enjoying what they were doing, a lot of them engaging on the activities with the guest and giving the impression that they were actually having a good time. We didn’t feel the need to leave the resort thanks to the convenient shuttles and walkways connecting the properties. Maya Riviera stood out for being more relaxed and less crowded than the others. All in all, the experience exceeded our expectations!
Everything was amazing
Barcelo Maya Riviera was modern, clean, so spacious and bright. We enjoyed the huge room, amazing ocean view, large and comfy bed! The restaurants offered delicious options and the drinks were tasty. The hotel was quiet and the fact that you can enjoy all other hotels on the property made it unbeatable. We loved our stay!
Las opciones de comida son excelentes, la cama muy confortable.
Staff, service and property were great! Wished pool closed late.
Second stay and will go back again in the future
We had a fantastic time at Barcelo Maya Riviera. It’s big but well executed. Super clean, modern resort with good food, drinks and the largest pool we’ve ever seen. They clean the beach throughout the night to keep it free of sargassum. Premium upgrade was worth it for best views, preferred dinner reservations and upgrade to Patron for the best margaritas. All staff were friendly and ready to accommodate any request. The room was modern and gorgeous with an HUGE comfortable bed. And don’t miss the free daily hydrotherapy at the spa. It was amazing!! Also had an outstanding massage and facial. The double decker bus runs frequently and makes it easy to travel to other resorts. the spa and club day or night. We also visited the 3 cenotes located right across the street. Yes, you can walk to 3 cenotes: Azul, Eden and Cristalino. We have vacationed at A LOT of all inclusives and this one was superior by far. We’ll definitely be returning!
Los mejores días para vacaciones
restaurants needs to have a drink menu specific to the restaurant theme
Excellent resort, perfect food and service.
Excelente la piscina y la playa
Nada
Got the swim up premium and was well worth it! We used the pool so much after hours. Food options were really good as well! Staff was extremely nice and helpful and really liked the access to other resorts! Would definitely come again
Beautiful property.
Todo, increíble las instalaciones, la comida, el servicio, todo espectacular
Sargazo en la playa, aunque lo limpiaban volvía. No es culpa del hotel, y lo mantenían limpiando, pero fue lo único que no nos gustó por la temporada
The food was excellent, I am a really picky eater and I have zero complaints. The restaurants were beautifully decorated. The property is so clean and the staff were extremely hospitable, I just love the Barcelo brand.
