Great staff in a great location

Our room with two dogs was too near reception disturbing the dogs

We didnt check in until around 8pm but staff were friendly and showed us around and we went for a drink in the bar and had a little chat about the history of the area. So welcoming.... and a shame we couldn't stay longer!

Maintenance work below room at night kept me awake!! Banging / talking and music whilst they worked through the night / early hours. Not impressed! Terrible nights sleep. Used ear plugs to help but hardly any sleep at all!

Hotel room was very outdated and repairs particularly around the shower areas were poor

Fabulous location and wonderful staff

The hotel is in park land and therefore has a large car park and quiet environs. The rooms are old fashioned in look but comfortable.

The WiFi was very patchy and very slow. Public areas were rather untidy. There was an event on during the stay and it seemed that basic clearing of tables and the like were not being looked after. The downstairs restaurant has a limited menu and is slightly dingy and cold and is not as pleasant as the tables that appeared to be upstairs.

Large room

Rooms need a better clean, stairs need hoovering, restaurant need to be opened when people have booked the room with a restaurant reservation. Not closed because they’re not busy enough. App access on TVs restricted so that you can’t use Netflix etc

Elegant setting and hotel ambience.. Excellent bedroom and bathroom appointments. Fine dining and breakfast in an intimate environment. Attentive and obliging staff. Praceful room despite large wedding reception at the time of our stay.

This is a great place to retreat to have a quiet drink, walk around the lake and chill out. Although I also got a lot of work done in the bar area.

standard room only problem there was a step down from the room to the bathroom which wasn`t very good as we forgot it was there 3 times during our stay fantastic views from the window breakfast was excellent looking forward to going again

Lovely setting , beautiful walks around the lake. Our room was very spacious with a lovely comfortable bed. The bathroom was also very spacious with a huge bath, 2 wash basins and a walk in shower. All the staff were pleasant, polite and helpful especially during Sunday lunch when our large party were served all the correct orders and our grandchildren were well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble

It looks a little tired in areas. It was also quite noisy due to a wedding in the marquee

The room was superb with magnificent views over the lake. The bathroom was expansive and facilities were more than adequate

The shower didn’t have a hand set. The restaurant menu consisted mostly of steaks not many options if you wanted something different

Very tired decor. Smelt foisty in the bedrooms. There was a wedding on and it was obvious that we were not part of the wedding but they’d put us right above the venue room.

The hotel outside was very dirty which wasn’t helped by a wedding with lots of smokers just chucking cigarettes buys everywhere There was no sign of anyone cleaning Arron’s the hotel which is such a shame as it had lively people I found our room 410 very different without a separated toilet area

With such great views, I would hope someone would clean the windows a little more often.

Room 108, shower flooded, drain was blocked. Coffee spilt on wall. Tap on bath dripping. Receptionist was not bothered.

I think that the bar area should be where people with dogs can eat. The lounge area where dogs can go isn’t ideal. It is normal that dogs are allowed in a bar. If we had know that the area wasn’t suitable we would have met our friends in a better location rather eat in the lounge area you have. At breakfast we sat at the lounge area but the waitress had said if she had known we were coming with the dog a table would have been set ready. Maybe not have the breakfast next time although it was very good.

The receptionist was not welcoming and abrupt. This is a customer facing role and the first interaction that people have with the hotel, and we left reception thinking that she was just rude. No air conditioning in the bedroom.

We absolutely loved this hotel. It's a fantastic building and the staff were all very helpful. The grounds are vast and a perfect place to walk my dog. The food is very, very nice too. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing break. The rooms are spacious too.

Was very comfortable, clean and luxurious. Check in was easy and girl at reception was cheerful and helpful.

Only thing we didn’t really enjoy was the breakfast. Not the tastiest. Not buffet styled. They couldn’t even find any marmalade for toast. I noticed a staff member would ask a few people if they needed anything (presumably people he knew) but never once came to our table even though breakfast area had only about 4 families, would have been nice to make all guests feel comfortable and welcome.

The two nights we stayed there were school proms on and our room was at the front. We were shattered after a 9 hour drive and kept awake by the school kids and then the cars turning up to collect them, playing loud music. However the staff made a great effort in trying to manage it all. The hotel seemed a little more run down than when I stayed last year. There was a big tub in the hall collecting water from a leak.

Staff in the rib room were superb esciallhbthe supervisor. Efficient, friendly and very professional. Reception staff need some training. No greeting or smile.

Lovely view over the lake from the bedroom. Comfortable bed and large room with everything we needed. Smart and spacious bathroom too. Plenty of onsite parking and friendly staff.

When we arrived checked the bedding and it had blood on the sheets.complained we were moved to another uograded room.

There was a prom the night I stayed and it went on past my bedtime 🥱 it wasn’t a major issue though.

Arrived for at 9:30am. Picked the best table of a bad bunch of uncleaned tables. Had to find a waiter to ask for coffee. Fresh orange empty. Then had to find a waiter for a plate to use at the buffet. 2 mushrooms left and eggs overdone. A 4 star hotel ought to be able to provide a far better experience than this 🤔. Waiters looked over worked and under staffed !

Fantastic location. The hotel was superb and staff very attentive and professional. Room a bit small but it was the standard room.

Upgraded to a deluxe room which was excellently presented. The bar and food in the bar was first class and great value. We also had breakfast in the dining room which was very good with professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Martin, Micheal our two waiters at breakfast also housekeeping nothing was a trouble. We arrived to a beautiful scene of the lake and Hall. We enjoyed the peace and tranquilty of the Hall in which we were in great need. We would like to visit again at some stage.

Room was a little dated and looked out to a less then perfect vue , although the furniture and bathroom had everything we could want and the size of the room was perfect.

The room, bathroom and bed were extremely spacious. It had everything we needed. The Hall was decorated beautifully, and had some old artefacts (cheese press) in the restaurant which I thought was a lovely touch. The view of the grounds and lake is stunning. The staff in reception, bar and restaurant were polite, friendly and well dressed. Even though the Hall was hosting 2 weddings, it was clear that the staff were busy but the restaurant staff gave each table some light conversation which, in my mindset, made the evening meal more enjoyable. Finally, the food presentation was beautiful and tasted as good as it looked.

We really enjoyed our stay however our room was located towards the marquee so even though it wasn't close to the Hall, the music was still very loud, way past 10.30pm. Personally, I wouldn't complain to Reception because I wouldn't spoil someone's big day, however it has made me mindful to consider this for any future bookings the location of the room. Luckily I had a few drinks so I fell asleep before the music stopped. One other point I wasn't happy with, was the 2 chairs at the window (which were very comfortable) had water mark stains on the sitting surface. I noticed this later in the evening when the main light was on. I felt a bit dirty because I'd been sat on one of those seats while I enjoyed the view when we first booked in, I can only hope these stains were made by split drinks. I informed the Receptionist when we booked out, so we wouldn't be blamed for the chairs. There was no apology or anything. On a smaller note, ask for a left handed cup or standard cup. The cups are modern and beautiful and I thought they were very comfortable to hold but with my partner being left handed he didn't like them.

Stunning location and absolutely beautiful hotel. We have stayed a few times now and the service and staff are perfect!

Nothing One small issue. The fire alarm went off during the night and everyone had to go outside. A member of staff came to the door and just said false alarm and disappeared

Room was not cleaned when I checked in. The interior is dusted and the bathroom was partially cleaned and toilet with sings of use, to be elegant in saying.

Room was on the ground floor. It was exceptionally large and quiet, tastefully furnished, with a grand very comfortable bed. There was a beautiful aspect over the grounds. The bathroom was a delight with a roll top bath.

Unfortunately the TV was limited to satellite viewing and not able to use hdmi attachment to access freeview. Seemed to be understaffed at the bar area

Location was fabulous

The room and facilities felt somewhat dated; the bathroom’s magnifying mirror wasn’t working, the WiFi unit was hanging off the wall, and the lotion was empty. Although I reported these issues to reception, only the lotion was addressed.

Views

The room 102 we were given was smelling of damp. When mentioned to staff it was sprayed with air freshener which didn’t last long.

Viewed were unreal and the bed was sensational!
