Great room and facilities at a great price
Lovely location great surrounds friendly staff underground parking recommend
A very well-maintained and charming hotel. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The property also has a very well-equipped gym and a small swimming pool. The staff are not only extremely helpful and attentive, but also incredibly friendly and kind. We highly recommend it!
Restaurant was excellent, food great and service by Daryl exceptional.
Nothing not to like.
Great property, great location.
Upgraded room which was extremely disappointing. Paid for a Mountain View, and got a grass bank with no balcony. Great hotel but a few rooms should not be classed as upgrades, this was my no1 hotel for our 3 week trip and a little disappointed.
Loved the village. Lived there room and comfy bed.
Staff on the front desk upon arrival seemed to be a bit unwelcoming.
Location and the pool was great for the kids.

Very grand and extremely comfortable
The swimming pool area and sauna weren’t as I expected.
My husband and I stayed for two nights during our road trip to Canada. Our room was clean and comfortable. However, we felt the rest of the hotel was dated and in need of a refurbishment, especially the corridors. We were reluctant to eat at the hotel so ate at a local restaurant for our first evening and had a take away for our second night. Some of the staff weren’t very helpful when we enquired about restaurants, which we found unprofessional. Luckily our room was the best bit of our stay in this hotel.
Very nice property. Well cared for with large pleasant public spaces. Very close to the Mountain Bike parks and chairlifts. Excellent placement in relation to the shops. The kids loved the pool space.
The Sun Peaks Grand is an excellent hotel in so many ways. It was spacious and luxurious. Our bed was comfortable, there was plenty of space for our clothes and the bathroom was good. The concierge helped us to sort out our onward route. The restaurant provided a splendid meal on the evening we arrived. Our waiter was helpful in choosing dishes that were not too big. He was happy for us to share a main course between two. Breakfast the next morning was an excellent buffet with a wide variety of Canadian and international dishes. We did not make use of the swimming pool but it looked appealing. The hotel has car parking under the building but charges extra for this even though it is available for guests only, which in my opinion is unreasonable. Our travel agent chose this hotel for us as a stopping place on our drive from Jasper to Vancouver. We had not realised that it meant an additional 30 kilometres each way from the main road. For this reason it was not ideal for us. This is not the hotel's fault but readers of this review who are intending to travel from the Rockies to the coast should consider whether they want to drive an additional 60 km in the hills.
Great location and comfy bed. Nice to have the bike storage as well.
Average cleanliness, not great! Appliances (stove/oven) in definite need of replacement/repair. Age of hotel showing in general wear and tear that has not been addressed. (needs wall repair/paint/etc). Too many areas to list.
The ambience of the hotel
We arrived during a torrential evening storm after driving through the Rocky Mountains, 4 adults, 1 elderly lady and 2 children, and no assistance or even an umbrella was offered to assist very good. with unloading the car. Concierge just stood under the shelter and watched. Drunks partying outside the hotel until 3.40 am
This hotel is beautifully situated. Our room was spacious, well appointed and clean. We were only here for one night. Sadly, what let it down for us and many others in our group, was the treatment we received by the bar staff. I understand there was a function ( a wedding) happening on the day of our stay, so perhaps the staff were a little stretched….however, we had all paid for our stay. The restaurant and bar area was by no means busy. We were met by rude and grumpy staff, not a smile between them. We managed to get 2 ( of our complimentary drinks/ should have been 4) eventually, probably took 20-25 minutes, which were very nice. A few more of our group arrived and were told, a drink would take AT LEAST 45 minutes!! Again, despite the bar area being less than 1/2 full. We would’ve eaten in the restaurant, but we really didn’t feel welcome. Such a shame because it is a nice hotel, hoping it’s just a one off…..
Came up from Kamloops for the Retro Concert weekend after a last minute decision the night before. Got in at 3 but our room was ready for us to check in early! Settled in then headed out for a bite to eat and a quick hike on the mountain. Location is great within the small village, everything is easily accessible. Snuck in a quick visit to the pool area before checkout and it was great. Had the place to ourselves but with 3 hot tubs, would be just fine with more of a crowd. The sauna was a nice treat as well. Definitely recommend for just about any kind of trip!
Zwischenstopp für eine Nacht auf Kanada Rundreise. Gutes Restaurant im Haus und gutes Frühstück.
Good location but there were misses that occurred that makes give a lower rating. 8 chained down deck chairs for a busy pool on a hot sunny day. Room was dirty with dirt and dust in corners, behind and notables, no table to eat at in a room with a kitchenette. When busses arrived there were 20 minute elevator waits with no stairs to access your room from the lobby. Delivery trucks arriving before 7 AM that beep when they back up. It’s a nice hotel but the Grand wasn’t so grand of a stay.
Very clean, comfortable and friendly staff.
A couch in the room to watch TV would have been nice.
Everything. Location, comfortable bed, fitness centre and helpful staff
Nothing
The hotel room was large and comfortable with the amenities we expected. There were two issues that left us a little disappointed. We found the AC / heating impossible to change and the room was too warm. Breakfast was quite ordinary with a disappointingly small selection for a hotel of this standard.
Lovely hotel and village. Only stopped for one night on our drive through but would love to come back for a few days to enjoy the village more
Wonderful 2 night stay with my family of four with two young kids. We will definitely be back. Great value and great accommodations.
A great room and good location. Bed was comfortable - nice to have a pool
Would be better if we had a balcony - too many kids jumping off the edge of the pool - right into us. Would be nice to have an adults only section of the pool to be able to relax.
Such a clean and beautiful hotel! Can’t wait to come back. We loved every minute of our stay, and the views were unbeatable
Our one night stay at Sun Peaks Grand Hotel was very nice. The hotel is handily located right in the Sun Peaks village which has all kinds of fast food and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and staff excellent. A nice stay.
The location and friendliness of other guests was the best part of my overall experience during this stay. I found we had an unfortunate experience with our room and would hope its not a regular occurrence.
Location, staff friendly room was great breakfast good
N/a
Nothing bad to say about the room, the outdoor pool and hot tubs are awesome!! Employees a little cold 😆 Except the Mr at the reception in the morning, he's been very friendly.
Europeans smoke, and since all is about the environment now, a smoking area could be nice? ;) So people wouldn't leave their butch on the street... 🥴
Well located near all mountain services. Large, comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing to dislike, but the hotel is enormous with very long corridors. If you are not very mobile, that could be an issue. Also, the parking spots are very narrow so people tend to park over the lines thus reducing the number of available spots.
Loved the the residence suites! Clean, great kitchen, comfortable bed, nice view from balcony. Everything we needed. Pool and hot tubs fun too.
We stayed at the residence and it was a great stay - super spacious 2 bed suite with everything you need. access to all amenties! Would not rate Morriseys at all, the food was well below par and there was not enough staff the server was run off her feet. Overall, I would return though!
A beautiful hidden gem in BC's mountains. I would definitely return for a vacation. The Residences were spacious and well maintained. The Village has a variety of things to do and see. My only complaint would be that there aren't enough pool chairs for a resort this size. The only pool is in the Grand Hotel attached and it's quite small.
Excellent stay at SunPeaks Grand Hotel & Residence. Residence 2 bedroom 2 bath unit. Lots of space, comfortable beds, full kitchen. Residents only hot tubs on 3rd floor by elevator. Filtered Air conditioning. Excellent staff. Outdoor Pool, hot tubs, sauna were wonderful and the views just amazing. Convenient underground parking. Great onsite dining Mantles & Morrisey Pub & and easy walk to village (Steakhouse, Mountain High pizza, Rocky Mountain Chocolate & many other options). Easy walking trails close by. Wild flower hiking with chairlift in summer. Close to new playground & outside games area.
I love going to sun peaks grand hotel. I think its the best experience and the price is great. I make sure to find their website, it can be difficult with redirects from all of the other websites, but then the price is the lowest and best deals, and cancelation policies.
Big, comfy beds, pool.
The sauna didn’t work.
Everything was 5 star. Comfort, convenience, people, facilities, the room the bed. Loved it everything about the Grand!
The Grand is a beautiful hotel on a stunning back drop! It was a great atmosphere, family friendly, but still romantic. There are lots of options for activities from walking the streets and browsing the local shops, to down hill biking, golfing, hiking, and soaking in the sun at the pool! Its a very cool village with so much to see!!
Welcoming atmosphere. Elegant yet humble. Cozy lobby and common area. Solid hotel with history. Spacious King Bed Room.
Beautiful hotel for a wedding, the food that was provided was amazing. The chef did a super job would highly recommend!!
Room was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable but did hear this beeping noise ( kind of like an alarm clock going off ) in the hallway all night. Some complimentary water bottles would be nice to have in the room so one could make coffee and or tea. Overall very enjoyable stay and the staff are incredibly friendly and professional.
Very well situated. Resort is fun. Good variety of food options
Pool could be cleaner and not impressed with additional parking cost $33/day
We had a great stay. The location was excellent, and our room was very nice, the bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet with blackout curtains. We were changed to the 5th floor overlooking the mountain which was great. The outdoor pool and hot tubs were very relaxing after our day out. Our rate included parking which was a bonus. Would highly recommend staying here if you go to a visit to Sun Peaks, it is right in the village and lots of shops and eateries at your doorstep.
Beautiful hotel, staff was so friendly and amenities were perfect. Location is close to everything and rooms were very clean.
Great hotel rooms etc. But skip the breakfast buffet unless you're expecting cold or warm items. At $30 each it was a rip off at best,
Stayed here during our honeymoon adventure in the Rocky Mountains. It was only a quick overnight stay. Austin at reception was very welcoming and answered all of my million questions. The room was spacious with two large, comfy beds. Room was clean, although dusty in places and not vacuumed behind lamp table. Bathroom was clean. We had a good night’s sleep. I can imagine in Winter that the atmosphere in the village is much more bustling than summer, as it did feel very quiet during our stay. While the name says Kamloops, the hotel is in the village of Sun Peaks, around 35 minutes away from Kamloops itself.
Good location looking forward to coming back in the winter to ski. Suite was spacious with great amenities and pool and hot tubs were nice.
Had a great exprience in this hotel. Great room services. Great breakfast. Free outdoor walk activites. Great for family.
Fair price. Comfortable beds. Rooms look exactly like the pictures online. Very clean. Great location in the village.
A very comfortable resort hotel with plenty of facilities and situated in the heart of the village within easy walking distance of lifts and lots of nice restaurants. Things to keep in mind were that there is overnight garage parking but it’s not free - $33 per night and there doesn’t seem to be any other parking options, there was also a $30 charge per night for a cot bed (they forgot to add that to our bill tbf). Pool was small but clean and hot tubs were lovely. Would recommend if you’re after an American style hotel which lacks some charm but is very convenient.
Sun Peaks Grand Hotel is fantastic. Great location. Great hotel. Great staff. Great rooms. Couldn’t be any better. Underground parking is very convenient. Registration desk is very well organized. Even got greeted at the front door. Right smack in the middle of the village and easy walking distance to dining, pubs and shopping.
Big rooms, nice pools outside.
This is our 10th stay at the Sun Peaks Grand Resort and every time is amazing. This visit was no exception. We were greeted by Trevor, the Concierge who assisted us with the luggage cart. He had a constant smile on his face! My husband, our Golden Retriever, Henry and I were welcomed on the patio each evening by extremely friendly staff. Ryan and his colleagues brought Henry a fresh water bowl, and Ryan made sure that we had everything we needed to make our dining experience exceptional. On our last evening we met Darryl, the bartender, who told us wonderful stories about wine and volcanoes... It was so much fun. We will definitely come back on our next road trip. Karen, Phil and Henry
My husband and I planned our stay as a wedding anniversary trip. From start to finish, our stay was wonderful. Greeted immediately, so welcoming and friendly — our room was very nice and clean, with a very comfortable vibe. Upon check-in, within 5 minutes of being in our room, we were hand-delivered a bottle of wine and a handwritten note/anniversary card, from one subtle comment I made that the stay was for our anniversary. My husband didn't even hear me say it — he said, "How did they know?" I said I barely mentioned it, which made it all the more kind and, to me, shows the care and above-and-beyond service you want when you choose a place to stay. Beyond that, the restaurants were all phenomenal — great drinks, food, and atmosphere. No complaints.
Perfectly located - very nice hotel with well equipped and spacious deluxe rooms Swimming pools and guest laundry on site
Excellent location by the ski slope/ mountain bike trails. The outdoor pool was awesome. The restaurant downstairs served really good breakfast and dinner. Had a wonderful time.
Fantastic value and lovely facilities
Breakfast was way over priced but staff was lovely.
Excellent location by the ski slope/mountain bike trail. Amazing facilities and outdoor pool area. The restaurant was really good for breakfast and dinner. The games room kept the kids busy.
Camera
Zona piscina e idromassaggi, poco curate.
We loved everything about the property!
The only negative was that the EV charger did not work. The desk clerk was very good at trying his best but through to no fault of his own- it just wouldn’t work.
Great position, rooms, clean super comfortable bed and friendly can do staff
It was a lovely spot and hotel wished we stayed longer
The area and facilities
Great location. Wonderful room. Staff were excellent. Underneath parking was convenient. Will definitely return. Golf course.
Would have preferred to have had a simpler breakfast versus the buffet they offered.
Great staff, exceptional room and a good breakfast. The hotel is situated in a pretty ski resort which has shops and restaurants close at hand.
The pool area needs updating and more sun loungers.
The double room was spacious and clean, beds were comfy and you got robes to use at the pool. Staff were friendly and it is very central to the lifts. We took the lift up and hiked to the top of Mount Tod and were rewarded with amazing views and flowers - definitely recommend this. Sun Peaks itself was alright, quiet and not much going on, having just come from Whistler it was very different, expect it is much livelier in winter season.
Pool area was a bit of a disappointment. Although there are 3 spas, there's no jets in any of them, just a couple of lazy ones. The pool itself is OK, probably much better in winter where it benefits from being heated. You can look out at the slopes, bike tracks and mountains but it also feels like you're sat in the square of town so it's mixed feelings... Generally found the hotel and town overpriced for what you get, it was the only place in our 3 weeks of travelling that we had to pay for parking, which would have been ok if facilities had been better.
Lovely location and room
Not enough sunbeds around the pool and hotel seemed understaffed, check in was hard work
Clean and comfortable, in centre of village
It’s a large hotel, which makes it feel a bit impersonal.
Lovely sized room. Very well located for the resort. Lots a restaurants close by.
The room was hot at night and the air con was too loud in our room for a light sleeper.
Could not fault this hotel, only wished we could have stayed longer.
Nothing
Love this hotel and always stay here when I am in Sun Peaks.
I think 33.00 for parking is excessive.
i liked the dog-friendly atmosphere. i liked the large rooms and the accessibility. the comfortable beds. i liked the terrific staff, who remembered my name. i loved the tasty restaurants. the amazing shops. the views.
no complaints at all.
Location
Views weren’t great, lobby and reception tired and sauna not working
Very nice location.
Hotel is tired. Needs more upkeep. Hot tub didn’t work. Game room closed. Parking is an insane extra cost. Way too high of a price for what you get. Especially since it was the off season. Entire area almost deserted.
Very central with entrances on different floors of the hotel. Easy to navigate parking, and friendly staff.
Nothing not to like.
Everything
Breakfast
Very picturesque, great location
Thought the breakfast Buffett was average for the cost
Give me the sentence here that it's amazing place at spectacular location. The rooms are clean, spotless. It's a really five-star resort.
The hot tub hours are till 9 p.m., which is very limited, especially considering that the sunset is past 10 p.m. and we could all enjoy time in the hot tub more.
Everything. The level of service was excellent from ever member of staff, from the front desk, the valet, and the restaurant staff
I really can’t think of much - the sauna wasn’t working but not sure if I would have used it anyhow.
The space.
The noise late at night. While I know its not something you can control, maybe put families on one side of the hotel.
Slightly dark and gloomy lobby area as a bit dated but that aside our stay was excellent...did not eat in resto and the value proposition was great however we did ytavel in the offseason.
It is the only hotel at the base with a hot tub. Had bike valet.
Room floor didn’t appear to be vacuumed prior to arrival.
Staff was exceptional! Location is prime. Amenities top notch
As the start of our Self-drive of the Rocky Mountains, Sun Peaks was our first stop. As you could imagine this area in the snow-covered months would look fantastic, will the summer months did not disappoint in anyway. The hotel room was fantastic in all areas.
What an awesome place to stay! It was clean, the staff were excellent, and it was comfortable. The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Best location in the mountain. Good service for bike storage and parking. My kids enjoyed the pool. Good to be coming in and out for breaks due to its location.
Great location in the heart of the village. The beds were super comfortable after a long day on the mountain. The breakfast buffet was delicious with everything you could want and the service was wonderful.
Great, central localisation, well appointed room with really comfy bed, very nice staff in the restaurant, good outdoor spa
Jacuzzi had just lukeworm water
Room was nice
Pool was shutdown, websitedid not advise this.Pool was one of Main reason we booked hotel. Also hot tu jets sucked!
Loved Loved Loved. Reminds me of Whistler 40 years ago. Going back in July! Everything was closed when I went - shops etc. Which was absolutely fine with me. I was looking for quietness. And natural / nature beauty. So I would say definitely do your research - depending on what you are looking for!!
Room was excellent - clean, quality linens and bedding. Size of room was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Central location to everything.
