Location to downtown
Rooms while neat and tidy are old, the beds very high off the ground and very aged furniture, bathroom tired - knew it was an old heritage building but rooms needs some upkeep
Good location.
Limited parking.
Not much.
Quite old and musty smelling. Worst offerings for breakfast ever experienced.
The breakfast was ok - no fresh fruit, or any fruit. The hotel was in a cool location downtown. The hotels history is really interesting! I enjoyed the historic vibes, especially the elevator!
Just because it’s old some things were wonky. The toilet kept draining unless you lifted the flusher.
Great central location, restaurant downstairs, original historic charm.
Front desk Reception… Riya was excellent ,professional courteous and personable!
Ma
Location was right downtown which is by many local businesses including the liquor store and restaurant within the main floor of the building. The building maintains the historic charm which is great to see! The front entrance even has an old type writer and the elevator is original! Staff was beyond helpful and kind, which was delightful after a long and tiring journey. Rooms are comfy and A/C works well!
Parking is limited and parking lot is not well lit. However, if you check in promptly they can assign you a parking space in one of their designated stalls for a small fee daily. There is adjacent parking that is owned by other businesses and a paid parking lot adjacent in case the hotel parking is full.

Okay for a one night stop over.
Its an old hotel our room was cold (6 Sept 2926) despite it being a warm sunny day. We were told the heating for the whole hotel is either on or off.
Gute Lage.
Location was perfect for walking around downtown.
Breakfast got cold closer to 9 am.
Nice heritage building. Staff was excellent.
Parking is an issue. Small lot after which you have to pay to park on the street or in a neighbouring lot.
Clean; comfortable bed; good location ( close to grocery store, restaurants), and friendly staff.
Value for money
Breakfast was disappointing. There was no ketchup or syrup. The butter was hard. The selection was slim.
The staff was not very helpful when I was booking in. I didn’t understand that parking was only $8 included so I paid separately $20 for parking. My TV wasn’t working when I got to my room, there was no body wash and the light bulbs were burnt out. They did fix some of these things, but I felt like this should have been done before I got the room. Location is horrible, couldn’t have my window open because crackheads hang out in the parking lot and I was worried about my car being parked there overnight.
Nothing
Everything
Friendly staff.
Room far away from elevator
Property need cleaning specially the carpets although the building is old and well maintained but needs some changes
The floor quality, the food, and the smelly room.
Personeel was vriendelijk
Zwervers en dealers in de straat Slecht ontbijt Slechte lift (heel klein) Relatief duur alles samen genomen.
The staff were lovely… it was clean with a great bed
It was in quite a rough area and a lot of noise from the bar downstairs. I really didn’t like the paper cups in the bedroom or with breakfast. Breakfast wasn’t as nice as they make out. Pretty average break really.
The room was clean, easy to access, view of downtown Kamloops. The fridge worked well and they even supplied a Keurig coffee machine and pods. We loved the location. We could walk to several shops and restaurants, downtown mall, and an excellent park on the river bank. The room was pretty quiet for a downtown location so we slept well. the front desk staff were super friendly.
The breakfast was sufficient but pretty plain. Eggs, Sausage, juice, coffee, bread. The food was self serve in warming trays but I don't think the trays had any source of heat as the servings were not hot.
Nothing
The hotel sold our room to someone else despite a confirmed booking. We were forced to look for another hotel at 11 PM
Struttura mal conservata e abbastanza sporca.
Only ok
Poor selection
It’s a beautiful historic building - the room was clean
The breakfast wasn’t great
Nulla
Location
Noisy (walls are very thin and was kept awake for a good portion of the night by noise in adjoining rooms) and hotel is dated. Breakfast is limited.
the front desk officer was a really nice and helpful person
The location was great , the continental breakfast was good too. The room was clean
Needs to be more staff at reception, waited 45 minutes to check in. When there was a problem with my door locking/unlocking I had to make 3 trips up 2 flights of stairs. I eventually was offered a smaller room - no refund or anything for the inconvenience. Also, Was told the deposit was $150, when I arrived at the hotel it was $250. Not impressed with the overall service of the staff.
The location We were confronted by street people while trying to park our vehicle We did not feel safe in that area so we left
The rooms could use some maintenance And a deep clean not just a quick wipe and vaccume
Absolutely nothing.
Hotel was dirty, carpets and room smelled foul. We were tucked in a back wing room with very dark and dirty halls. Bathtub was old and dirty.
Hot Breakfast was a nice surprise. The building is an older one and I like that they have tried to maintain the unique original look --
Unfortunately there are a lot of homeless people on the streets near here
The front staff were very kind and professional.
For the price and location the hotel is very dated, needs a lot of TLC, parking was $8 per night, and it didn’t feel safe after dark. Also the carpet very badly needs to be replaced.
The lady at the front desk was very helpful.
In all honesty, most accommodations have been good. Minor issues, nothing to really complain about. But there was too much wrong here that needed to be addressed, to hopefully save anyone else the misfortune of booking here. We weren’t expecting to have to pay for parking. We talked with another guest staying at the hotel who also thought the parking would be free. There were at least five homeless people sitting in the parking lot which was uncomfortable. Another guest we were talking with went to check his vehicle at 2:30 in the morning and found a prostitute behind his vehicle. The only thing we could do to avoid our car being potentially robbed and vandalized was empty everything out of our car, two luggage carts worth of stuff, into the storage room, on the second floor. We didn’t want to do that after a long day of driving in the 31 degrees heat. Very inconvenient, we did not have to worry about anything like this in any of the five previous hotels were stayed at this week. Then, we were told we could be moved to another hotel, which we didn’t want to do after we already emptied everything. The wheels on the luggage carts had a mind of their own and would not cooperate with us when we tried to exit the elevators. This place had the smallest elevator we’ve ever seen and the luggage carts got quickly jammed when we tried to maneuver out. When we got to the room the fan was being noisy and only quieted when it was turned off. There were also major issues with the TV. There were only a few channels we could watch and the rest were locked behind a code, which the employees could not unlock. Only thing the employees could help us with was moving us to a new room, at 9:00 at night. In the new room, the bathroom had barely any toilet paper left and we had to search for extra outside the room at a very inconvenient time. The bathroom tiles were cracked, and the exhaust duct was filthy, clearly hasn’t been cleaned in years.
Bed was comfy
The NOISE!! All night long. Bar scene- rave- outside noise until 2 am
Great stay, clean, comfortable, golf sim inside the hotel with pool table and bar for football
Breakfast was just ok
I had a highly disappointing experience at this Ramada location. The hotel feels entirely neglected, and the rooms are incredibly dated and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, while breakfast is advertised as "included," it is absolutely not recommended. They served a dried-out egg dish alongside equally dry, unappetizing potatoes. The quality was so poor that we actually walked out to eat elsewhere.Between the run-down room conditions and the terrible food quality, this property does not live up to basic hospitality standards. Save your money and stay somewhere else. The staff deserves five stars for their hospitality, but corporate seriously needs to invest in updating this property and fixing the food qualit
Pros - air conditioning - decent air quality (I guess they had filtration in the central air system) Cons - Extremely dated and antique room - Filthy disgusting bath tub - Moldy bath tub tiles - Broken toilet paper roll holder - Stains all over the flooring and walls - Rust on almost every single metal surface. This is not "chic", it's just lazy. Overall the room was extremely disappointing. We only stayed two nights but decided not to use the shower because it was absolutely disgusting. It stank of mold (as well as visible mold growing). The floor in the room was gross and we felt like we could not walk without our shoes - random stains everywhere and did not feel safe. The toilet roll holder basically fell off the wall on first touch. The body wash dispenser in the bath was empty on arrival. When we informed the desk staff, they did not install a new one, they just left a new bottle on top of our toilet... I guess we just do it ourselves? The few parts of the room you could tell were "updated" were extremely poorly constructed/done. You could tell that the person doing the installs had no idea what they were doing. There was zero sound-proofing on the exterior walls... Downtown Kamloops isn't too loud, but you could hear the mice chattering downstairs from the 3rd floor, the soundproofing was definitely non-existent. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience for over $250 a night... and this was the discounted rate given for the event we were attending. If I paid the original of over $350/night, I would not have stayed for even the first night. I have been to 3 star hotels in third world countries that were better than this hotel. We will never return here.
Nice area
Rooms are extremely outdated, barely up to any fire code that would keep a guest safe or even contain a fire to a room to allow other guests to escape, shower is at a height that waterboarded me when facing it and the stream pretty much goes out of the shower almost flooding the room, the window had no block to stop it going fully up so if I wanted to jump out I had enough space for a run up to dive out like it was the olympics, breakfast was very poor apart from the eggs, the potato’s lacked seasoning and it looks like they were scrapped up from the sidewalk outside, while the lobby looks modern and fresh that stops the second you get above ground floor, I’d stay here again only if I was desperate and needed a room for the night.
Comfy beds
Shabby chic is a style but parts of this hotel were just shabby. Couldn’t park outside and had to drag our cases from car park. No ISB ports for charging phones etc. Barmaid/waitress was wearing a skirt that showed far too much of her chubby bottom which our two teenage boys ogled all during dinner. There is short and there is obscene. Not the ambiance we would have liked. Breakfast was very acceptable- in particular the chicken sausages were very tasty. I was upgraded to a ‘suite’ but there was no tv in sitting room! As we were only staying one night en route to Vancouver it was ok. We didn’t pay a lot thank goodness.
Central location.
Poor service on arrival.
The bed was comfortable.
The hotel was summed up when I looked out of the window to check my car & a homeless man crouched down on the car park & took a dump. 🤮 The breakfast was awful, the orange juice was so cheap & acidic. No English breakfast tea. The bath & toilet were near enough on the floor they were so low. The area was very rough.
Rien
Pretty neat building, bed was comfy with free upgrade.
Room very small for a king room but it is an old building so can't be too surprised. However the AC in the room barely worked and just blew warm air, resulting in an unpleasant hot room all night. It was only 27 degrees- can't imagine how bad it would be on a really hot day! The corridor was several degrees cooler at least than the room. We asked reception about it and got some instructions but nothing worked to make it actually cold. Also no light switches or fans in the bathroom.
Water was amazing. Love the entrance
Lokalizacja oraz personel. Wygodne łóżka.
Hotel podniszczony. Podczas mojego pobytu miałam zatkany odpływ w wannie. Hotel nie miał innego wolnego pokoju 4 osobowego by nam zamienić.
Very comfortable bed and the staff were amazing and friendly.
The bathroom was a little rundown, and there was no safety on the windows.
Beliggenhed Gode senge
Location is great !
Very small room !
Location, parking
Dated and odd
Central location, so you can park and walk around the city. Many restaurants on your doorstep and close walk to the river walk and park. Large room with the necessary essentials. Basic limited breakfast included.
The hotel is a bit tired and could benefit from some cosmetic improvements. But for an overnight stay it serves its purpose and is good value for money.
This property is in the centre of the city and served as a base for us to do a walking tour of the city to see all the free art and sculptures. From the welcoming valet service to the checkin desk- this hotel understands hospitality. The room was a good size, neat and clean. We had a lovely view of the city skyline from the 10th floor. A generous breakfast was served the next morning, and making your own waffles was a novelty- and iconic.
I can't fault this hotel.
The history of the building and the staff was awesome
I was disappointed in maintenance, example toilet moving on base. Surprised it was not leaking to lowers floors. Shower soap dispenser empty. Electrical receptacle damaged
Price, location
Dodgy neighborhood full of junkies and the bar had lock drunks who closed down early
Quaint old building provided comfortable adequate rooms
A bit noisey but it was Friday night
We always enjoy staying at Plaza, location is great, we like the vibe and the rustic hotel.
We were not impressed with situation at the pub. We look forward to kicking back in the pub after driving all day. The pub was closed for a private party until 6pm. Fair enough, but, we went down after 6, still closed, so, we went elsewhere, returned after 7pm, still wanting to dine in the pub, still closed, so I asked the attendant why don’t let the public enter anyway, there was plenty of seating, she gave me a blank stare and shrugged her shoulders, I was disappointed, we left, had dinner else where. Although some people would say oh well, that’s the way it goes sometimes, Thats not me. I was not pleased. I think we’ll go somewhere else next time. We have always made the Plaza our go to spot when we travel through, always have had a great experience in the old place. But, that’s all it takes sometimes, one bad experience, and it unfortunately changes one’s outlook on what was once a great experience to a very disappointing one. So, this is a sad icon 🙁
Very good value for money
Room was battered and a few things need replacing
Location
Very old
Person on reception was very helpful. Laundry facilities were hard to find but pretty quick and efficient.
The room was dirty with vomit splatters on the wall, cupboard and floor of the bathroom. We had to ask twice for it to be cleaned properly and still wasn’t done fully. Room was hot and AC does not work. Noisy area with a lot of homeless people around. Was not aware the parking was charged an extra $8 a day until we arrived, which was a not secured parking lot with few spaces for larger cars/ our small van. Breakfast was very basic but did the job.
Don’t wrap 2 slices of white bread in plastic for breakfast. I have never stayed in a hotel that wrapped bread — not good environmentally. I wanted one. Do I toast 2 and waste one; unwrap them and re-wrap one; or leave one unwrapped? Very poor breakfast. Only fruit is apples. OJ is not just real orange juice. Sausage links is the meat. Our room 527 cannot be reached just by the elevator. Once you get to the 5th floor you find another set of stairs you need to climb with your luggage. Understand it is a vintage — i.e. old — hotel with “character” you may not appreciate.
Central location, many food options close by.
Accessibility
The suite was not ready for occupancy when it was supposed to. Road construction
The breakfast was ok. The location of the breakfast was very nice. For the price we paid it was acceptable.
Our room was small and had a fogged out window facing the other part of the building.
Good location. Quaint hotel with the oldest elevator in town
Included breakfast is really a free basic breakfast. Free room space is at a premium due to 2 doubles beds in.there
The location
Bit tired, could do with a refresh
Klimat ok.
They had mold in the shower and gave me a room that had no curtain in the shower. The shower was too tiny to fit in especially without curtain so I didn’t shower well. Also their toilet is like a baby potty. Too shot my knees hurt. Their customer service lied and had a lot of hidden charges. They put $349 on my credit card on hold for just checking in 11 pm and checking out at 9:30 am. He lied it was $150. I need my money refunded
Staff very friendly. Good location. Comfortable room.
Breakfast was terrible. Limited choices. Eggs were hard & cold. Some yogurt & granola would have been nice.
Location, right down town. Close to restaurants , shopping and medical appointments. Friendly staff, a decent free breakfast. (Scrambled eggs, etc)
The second time we stayed there, our room didn’t have an air conditioner and it was an uncomfortable warm evening. Also, area of town is an older area and strolling around in the evening we felt relatively safe but there was sometimes some interesting characters on the street. The hotel is older , clean, but lots of spots were looking worn.
Was just what i needed a clean little place to stay for the night at a reasonable rate! breakfast was a variety of foods that would allow for a quick breakfast, as i had, or a more formal full sit down event.
nothing
Loved the old lift and original features
Air con unit in the hall outside my room was so noisy
Breakfast was good. Bed was comfy. Staff tried to be welcoming given the deficiencies.
Parking lot was too tight. Most stalls fit only a small car. The ones that accommodated larger vehicles were full, so we had to park on the street. Being an old hotel (built in 1920's), the elevator is tiny and only fit the luggage rack with some wiggling around. We were on the 4th floor, and there are additional stairs to get to the room after exiting the elevator. The toilets are old style low and not elongated. There are many street people, day and night, all around the hotel.
Friendly welcome at reception, and staff happy to help when room was not stocked correctly. . Good quality towels, bed comfortable. Fridge in room and kettle provided on request.
The location is in a very run down area, the room badly stocked by housekeeping (only one towel and no toilet paper) , bathroom in very poor state of repair (the coating on the bath was cracked and peeling inside, the tiles on poor condition cracked, no plug for the bath, very outdated). Bird mess on window, people taking drugs outside and were there all night. (Not noisy, just stoned)- no main meals available in the bar because it was a new staff member apparently. The chap on reception was too busy and seemed to be managing the hotel single handedly!
Central location
To get to our room, we had to deal with stairs and had no choice of an elevator. Breakfast choice was poor, with potatoes undercooked.
Comfortable bed and great location in city centre. Good room size. Breakfast was included.
Nothing
Location is good, few minutes walking to riverside park.
Next room was very noisy
Try another hotel if you want bike storage. Breakfast was also not stellar. Friendly staff the was accommodating was the only good thing about hotel. Friends were mischarged at checkout.
Good central location
Very old property - needs a lot of work.
Everything
Location was downtown,
Hotel was dated and in need of a renovation. Breakfast was ok. Staff was polite and friendly. Lot's of homeless people hanging around outside the hotel. Expected more from a Wyndham group hotel.
An absolute hidden gem, great value for money, good breakfast included, friendly helpful staff. The old style rooms were great and the most comfortable bed.
Nothing
Central
Noise levels! In the hotel and street. Hardly got any sleep!
It is a unique old hotel with lots of character. There is a restaurant that is connected with great tvs for sports. We didn't eat but they seemed to have a good menu.
Very limited reserved parking and there is a parking lot that is near, however there are no incentives from the hotel to save on costs. Your only option afterwards is street parking. There are quite a few homeless people downtown, which the hotel can't do much about.
Would not recommend nor stay at this motel. We were part of a tour group and unfortunately were forced to stay here. Disgusting rooms, old and unclean. Lights didn’t work properly and had stains and rust in the bath. Whilst awaiting for bags to be delivered to the room we went out to try and find a decent place to eat (their ‘restaurant’ looked even worse. When we returned we found that the porter, that we later discovered didn’t even work there, had gone through my wife’s bag. There was no answer at reception. Spoke with our tour guide in the morning who informed the duty manager who said to our face that we were lying. Local Police were called and no cctv was supplied. Would not even let my dog stay here.
Nothing
The room was dingy and needs maintenance. Staff not helpful. Parking was not provided and the public lot did not feel secure. Sketchy area with lots of homeless and inebriated
The hotel is almost 100 years old so be prepared for squeaky floors and a few bumps. Staff were lovely. Location was noisy closer to the street and a bit scary to walk along. We were luckily upgraded to a better room on the 4th floor so noise wasn’t as bad. There is a bar underneath. Staff were the standout of the hotel :)
Toilet was so close to the bath that if we were taller or bigger size there is no way you could sit there comfortably.
The staff were very friendly.
We arrived from Calgary at 2:00 a.m. and got to our room ready to just go to sleep. The bed sheet had what looked like a coffee stain on it when we pulled back the covers. It wasn't a huge stain, but what that made me think was that the sheets were not washed from the previous guests and they just remade the bed. There were also some sort of sticky clumps of something stuck to the bottom of the bathtub and the fridge smelled really bad. We called down and requested a new room. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and understanding and switched us to another room right away but the new room had two twin beds instead of a king bed that we had originally booked. There was also no plug for the bath tub, we ran out of toilet paper and had to have housekeeping bring us a new roll (took quite a while so had to wait to use the washroom), there was a make up stain on one of the towels (it was not my makeup because I don't wear foundation and I use makeup wipes to remove my makeup and we also hadn't used any of the towels at that point) and when we went to have a shower in the morning, the water was lukewarm at best. And last but not least, we opened our blinds to see 3 homeless people and all their belongings just hanging out behind the hotel. They were clearly high and two of them were yelling at each other for a bit. The one guy eventually passed out in the middle of the "parking lot" and a passerby had to go see if he was still alive. I understand that that situation is out of your control, somewhat, but maybe a call to the police or something to monitor the area would help keep the area a bit safer for everyone. It was definitely a disappointing stay to say the least and I have to say that we will NOT be staying there again, nor will we recommend the Hotel to anyone.
Location
The shower water was not hot . The check in staff was not helpful and not flexible at all
