The convenience of location was good
Thought was that the room was facing the park, but it was actually the city which led to a very, very noisy night. Stay with train tracks keeping me up.
Staff was excellent. Security was well done. Room was big and bed was comfy.
White noise machine didn’t work to drown out the trains. Coffee pot needs to be larger.
A Room was ready when we arrived. although not a room I had requested. I was looking for a walk in shower with grab bars or tub with grab bars
There was supposed to be to be a discount on price of rooms for the 55+ BC Games. When I realized that my bookings with booking.com didn’t include this discount. I checked with the front desk and they advised because I didn’t book directly with Hotel they couldn’t give a refund. What gets me is the money I was charged goes to the Hotel
Loved staying at the sandman such a lovely welcome from Dinuka thank you so much for the information and the upgrade. Very good position to the centre of town and the park
cama
localización al lado del tren. imposible dormir. antiguo y poco limpio
Good location across from the park and close to downtown. Had two restaurants, one was Moxies and the other a Sharks club. We dined at Moxies and food was excellent.
Located beside train tracks, which our room was facing. Noisy at night, however they provided a white noise machine and earplugs which were very helpful. Some small maintenance items needed addressing, bathroom door did not close, black finger marks on back of door, baseboards needed some clean up.
Die Lage, ganz nah beim wunderschönen Park
Die Küche war schmudelig, wird nicht sauber gereinigt
We liked the park across from the property and we really appreciated the kitchen in our suite. Nice view.
Not enough hooks/counter space in bathroom. Ran out of garbage bags and toilet paper and told the front desk and didnt get replacements. Generally ghe room had lots of minor damage to it. Room was very expensive for what it was
Locatie naast het park was goed.
Zeer matige kwaliteit bedden en verouderd.
Location was nice. Restaurant attached to hotel was good.
View was not nice. The room also faced the train station so they put up a thick blanket-like curtain to minimize the noise but it would not go up so the room was dark and cave- like. The bathtub was dirty with streaks and a clump of hair. The charger next to the bed did not work and the refrigerators froze my items. I did tell the staff at the front desk about the situation and was given an apology.
Not much
There were dishes left in the hallways on the floor for 2’days The trains all day and night long
The only thing I liked was that I was going to be able to sleep. The room, the conditions and everything else about this hotel couldn’t possibly have been worse.
Just because I made my booking through booking.com, I was given a room that was directly adjacent to the rail track. Trains kept going back and forth all night long. I did not sleep a wink the entire night. Plus, I was quite deliberately given a room that had no smart TV in the room. The TV that was in the room had virtually no channel that was worth watching. The table at the Moxies restaurant the next morning was disgustingly filthy, the food was not even mediocre. I could keep going on and on.
Gold leaf Rocky mountaineer Banff to Vancouver. This hotel doesn’t match expectation or experience of the journey to date. Bath taps broken … No towels … Exceptionally noisy air conditioning .. Overall 2/10 We won’t be back!
My husband and I have just stayed one night at this hotel as part of our Rocky Mountaineer trip. The room was awful. It was grubby, smelly and in dire need of refurbishment. The AC unit sounded like a jet engine so cue no sleep either. It makes me pretty angry that hotels feel it is acceptable to charge for accommodation which is so below standard.
Location was great - next to riverside park and downtown.
The common areas of the hotel (lobby, elevators, hallways) were not clean. There was rubbish on the floor in the hallways, uncollected room service crockery on the floor, used pool towels on the floor in the pool area. The hot tub was out of service for maintenance. One of the elevators was out of service resulting in long waits to get to room. Staff were not particularly courteous to guests. Overall it felt like the hotel was suffering from poor management and was not reaching its full potential.
Front desk staff were amazing
Stained towels, water pressure in shower was not the greatest, felt like someone kept going in the room when we stepped out of the hotel
The location was perfect, the price was reasonable. The room was comfortable.
The used men’s underwear on the coat hanger. The robes were a nice touch, but didn’t use them because the hot tub was out of service. No lotion, but front desk gave us a small tube. Thank you.

The hotel is conveniently located just a minute or two from the Rocky Mountaineer train stop and directly opposite a lovely park, making it an ideal overnight stop for rail passengers. The staff were friendly, extremely helpful, and responded promptly whenever we needed assistance. The bed was spacious and comfortable. There was tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge in the room which were really useful. Unfortunately, the room itself was disappointing. It was extremely hot, and the air conditioning did not function properly. When we first arrived, the temperature was 32°C, and the unit displayed an error code and was not working. A member of staff quickly came to reset it and advised us not to set the room temperature below 20°C. However, despite not touching the unit, within around 20 minutes the error returned, and the air conditioning failed again. The room temperature was still in the high twenties. We ended up having to repeatedly restart the unit throughout the night, which made for a very uncomfortable and restless stay. This was particularly disappointing as we arrived late after a long day of travelling and had to leave again very early the following morning, making a comfortable night’s rest especially important. Aside from this, the room was generally dark, felt quite basic and dated. Some repair works had been neglected. For instance, the bathroom mirror was hanging off the wall and some of the chrome was worn off the sanitary wear. There were a number of redundant switches, such as old room thermostats and lighting that had been left in situ despite not being operational. The air con unit was very loud when it was working. In my view, the hotel would definitely benefit from refurbishment and brightening up to bring it up to a more modern standard.
Location
Very very noisy old a/c - not possible to leave it on whilst sleeping
The location was great
The room’s carpet is quite old but overall the bedding was very clean.
It has everything I needed for my stay
The tv remote in my room didn’t work
There was no breakfast Not enough coffee Too expensive 1300 for 3 nights
easy to access, parking lot available, golf driving range near by
railway tracks close to the room
We stayed here for one night as a stopover during a two day trip on The Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper to Vancouver. I had read some rather negative reviews for the hotel and was a little anxious about staying here, but it was great. Lovely room with a sitting room and kitchen, good sized bedroom with a very comfy bed and a bathroom with a bath. Great view over the river. Very quiet (not a sound from the trains at the back of the hotel).
Bed was very comfortable. Moxies restaurant next door was lovely.
In room coffee machine made terrible coffee. Hairdryer was not very good. TV kept buffering and freezing so couldn't really watch it.
My friend and I are attending a convention in Kamloops at the Sandman Arena and were able to secure a room across the street at the Sandman Signature. We arrived along with a large number of our fellow attendees, all near the same time Thursday afternoon. Dinuka and her colleague Sadid, were extremely efficient. I must commend them how quickly we were checked in. Then we requested some extra glasses be brought to our room and help with the remote ...the hotel is completely full and still excellent service. My friend and I are so impressed!!! Our room is well stocked and clean.
Plenty of parking, 24/7 security on site, exceptionally friendly staff members
Nothing to add in this section. The front desk staff had mentioned the amount of trains that go by, but honestly the noise didn’t bother me at all
Great room, casual but very well run hotel. Loved it.
Modernes, schönes Badezimmer. Ausstattung, Optik sehr schön. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Bequemes Bett, aber...
... beide Kopfpolster gleich hoch und hart. Kopfschmerzen vorprogrammiert!
Clean, good location, friendly staff.
The shower
Great location on the river front park, easy walk to downtown, restaurants, shops. Lots of parking, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good hotel restaurant and bar, pool and outdoor lounging area.
TV controller was a little counter intuitive.
Was a great location, staff was great. Was nice to have 2 restaurants attached.
Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t working and it made the whole pool area even smaller with blue fencing up. A youth football tournament with 300 teams was in town so it was just unfortunate timing
We were warned in advance that the hotels in Kamloops might not be up to the standards of other hotels we would stay at. That was certainly true for this hotel. Room was well below standard we expected. Staff was not very organized. Amenities were limited.
Great area great hotel great staff great restaurants. Recommend!
Nothing was great.
What a fantastic hotel; very large room with equally large comfy bed. Our room had a kitchen & lounge area. Very clean. Check in was very efficient by Dinuka & Sakshi. We did think the location would be noisy with the train track close by but it was fine; we slept brilliantly. Make a point of walking to the Riverside park; so quiet & plenty to see & kids area is amazing. The restaurant Moxies was excellent for dinner. Huge choice on menu; a little noisy with loud music but we got seated in a room off the side. All in all a great stay; sorry we could only stay one night.
Noisy
The location was nice
The room was filthy, and dated. Luckily the bed sheets looked clean. Rug wasn’t vacuumed properly. Fridge and microwave tucked in a dark cabinet. When opening the fridge you could see the area wasn’t cleaned.
Nice property and lots of convenient amenities close by!!
The washroom in the needs attention.
We had an excellent stay. My 9 years old daughter had only comment that there were not much of kids channels on the TV.
Great room and guest staff member (Dinuka) was very helpful to meet my needs.
Sakshi was of great help during my check in!
Good place to stay with awesome professional and friendly staff. Had a nice chat with Sakshi while checking out at the front desk.
Previous reviews didnt match
The staff, extra friendly, honey environment!
The hot tub was still broken...
Very spacious and comfortable. Lovely comfy bed. We had the jacuzzi suite, the couch was very comfy. Food was very good. Lovely park just behind the hotel with a beach.
Nothing, we had everything you'd need for a short break. Microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee machine.
The staff were friendly and helpful Room was good size and comfortable
For the price we paid and the fact that we were on top of a railway yard: The curtains could have been hung or fixed properly, the towels could have been white and not threadbare and the cupboard where the fridge is could have been cleaned. The windows were filthy (understand hard to keep clean all the time). Our expectations could have been met better.
Staff were friendly
It’s directly by a train track that is active all night and day
Location
The shower tile grout was not clean. The pillows were low quality and uncomfortable The sliding glass door was so dirty
Excellent location and very helpful staff
Stayed for 1 night - allocated this hotel by Rocky Mountaineer. Felt “grubby” as soon as we arrived - in need of a good deep clean everywhere. We were in a river view room - but we couldn’t see the river - just a car park & hills in the distance. The worst problem is the noise - there is no sound insulation & we could hear the trains rumbling through even though we didn’t overlook the line. Also guests stomping around in room above us. Curtains were hanging off, dust on all lights, worn carpets. We expected better standards from Rocky Mountaineer!
To be honest, not a lot. The staff were helpful and friendly though, and our car was parked securely.
In spite of having a white noise machine and earplugs, nothing could make up for the horrible train noise which went on and on. A soaking wet towel had been left in our bathroom and there was a rather odd smell in the room. We were booked for 2 nights but left after one.
Loved the location
We appreciate you sharing your experience with us. It sounds like you found the accommodations to be quite satisfactory. The reasonable pricing and good location were certainly beneficial. We're also pleased to hear that the staff provided kind service. Thank you for your feedback.
You felt very informal they didn't have much interaction and when I ordered from the restaurant and they got the order completely wrong and I had to go back three times and being disabled it was hard to do that
We stayed one night in this hotel . The hotel had a welcoming and easy check in procedure. The hotel has a contemporary feel, staff were noted to be friendly and helpful. Our room was a city view and at checking in we thought this might be quite nice but in reality it was a torture . The incessant noise from the Canadian Pacific Railway throughout the day and night is a major issue. The hotel provides earplugs and a white noise machine rather than dealing with the elephant in the room and soundproofing the building. The room was clean and well appointed. The decor a little tired. The pool was very small and had no sauna .which is a disappointment. Overall I was disappointed with my stay here and my mind is boggled as to why this hotel was built so close to the railway line.
Stayed here overnight while on the Rocky Mountaineer train. We were tired and it was comfortable.
family friendly location, nice restaurant attached
parking for large and tall trucks is not reasonable
Location was great, across from park, river and arena. Moxies and shark club are attached. Other eateries and shops within walking distance
We booked a park view, but the windows were so dirty and filmed we could hardly see out. Halls were filthy. A small fridge, microwave and kettle were provided, but I could not open the fridge. Their justification for the high room cost was that they are a four star hotel, they are not.
Stuff and management is very helpful when they need to take initiative. Special thanks to Dinuka!
We arrived at the hotel around 6 PM and the room wasn’t even ready. They said they still had to clean it. This was two hours after the original check-in times. Then once we finally checked in the room wasn’t very clean and the curtain was messed up so we couldn’t close the curtains. The room was pretty dirty considering they said they cleaned it.
The room was clean, but the hallway was dirty. The front desk staff was excellent, and we felt very welcome. Even the housekeeper said "hello."
The bathtub didn't drain well, but that's the only thing I didn't like.
The staff are always friendly and it’s a great location with wonderful access to amenities
Trains can be loud if you book city side
Clean , tidy, and the room was spacious
We were told on arrival, that our room faces the train tracks and could be noisy and the a white noise machine to help with the noise. Also, there was a fire alarm, which was unavoidable, but the next morning it wasn’t acknowledged by the team the next morning, either by way of an explanation or apology.
Close to arena and pubs
The train so close
Clean and kept to a high standard, ample parking and the attached restaurants were handy and very nice.
The location was right next to all amenities and the attached restaurant is a great bonus which had good food. Close to downtown. The hotel is lovely and the jacuzzi suite was perfect!
The room was not cleaned and even when I asked for the room to be cleaned, I piled all the dishes in one area and they left dirty cups above the hotel mini bar area. The cleaning staff did not clean to standard but made the bed. There was a leftover coffee grounds inside the coffee maker from the previous guests. The hottub was broken but that was not mentioned anywhere or when I called to inquire about a booking. The hotel is also right next to a railroad track and the trains shook the room and bed, it was so loud! Another thing they should have mentioned when I called to inquire about a booking. The hotel was nice but overall I was not impressed with the cleaning staff. The room made me feel gross knowing it wasn’t cleaned properly. I know there was more, however this is what i remember and both myself and my partner were absolutely unimpressed.
The location
N/A
Staff was great. Very accommodating when I asked for a room with a view of park.Room was nice and clean. Smelled clean as well. Definitely stay there again.
Easy parking
A little pricey for one night
1 restaurant gesloten, hotpool gesloten, zwembad er koud en de spoorweg zorgt dat je niet kan slapen. De white noise helpt niet….
Location. Close to everything we needed.
Nothing
Hot tub not working and pool too cold to swim
We had booked into the hotel, and when we arrived, the most amazing Dinuka explained that we had booked a room on the side of the hotel that faces the train - she upgraded our room to the other side of the hotel that looked out over the park and river - amazing. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable.
Maintenance was being done on the hot tub, which wasn't idea,l but we were told that we could use the one down the road at the YMCA and it would be charged to the hotel.
The staff was helpful and great
My hide a bed sheets were dirty with juice stain, crumbs and hair, bed was not so comfortable and I couldn't adjust the temperature properly, it was either to hot or cold...otherwise I love the location, staff and restaurants. I will be back
The room was well appointed and relatively quiet. The staff was warm and welcoming.
Honestly, there wasn’t really anything bad to say. The only complaint I have were the pillows. They look great when the bed is made because they are really thick, but when you go to actually sleep on them, they are quite hard. I should have said something to the staff and asked for different pillows. So that’s on me. I would definitely stay here again anyway.
Good location with lots of restaurants in walking distance. Clean and comfortable. Free underground parking.
The room, the pool, the decor, general facilities, location
Loved location
Price is high but to be expected.
