Room was clean and well appointed. Communal areas were comfortable with complementary hot drinks.
Nothing - everything was great.
Facilities
No staff after 6pm
no breakfast
Beautiful hotel with lovely communal space on the ground floor and hot drink facilities. Our room was lovely. Plenty of storage space, extremely comfortable bed, kettle and drinks. The bathroom was very spacious with very nice smelling toiletries provided. The location was excellent. Staff were so pleasant. Liz the receptionist was lovely
Could have done breakfast
Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Floors really creaky due to the age of the property so disturbed several times during the night as could hear people in the next room moving around. Walls seemed very thin.
Ontbijt was uitstekend
Clean and close to everything you need
Small car park which you have to pay for
The staff were amazing and friendly as well as very helpful. The room was fantastic and the bed was incredibly comfortable and large.
We loved everything about the hotel, no dislikes at all
Sitting room with draughts to play.
Nothing
Location was great and staff got be a ground floor room

Very clean and comfortable, free hot drinks station, Lisa went above and beyond making us welcome and making sure we were happy and even delivered a hot chocolate to our room after finding out the machine had run out 😃
The parking … had to unload luggage and then park in a car park in town car park.
There was no breakfast facility at this hotel
I think having a member if staff on site 24 hours is important
Great location for my day at the hospital for work. Bed so comfy, classy environment, well stocked rooms.
Nothing- would highly recommend
Lovely sized room with good sized bed, 2 seater sofa, plus chair at desk. Lovely bathroom. Lovely and clean. Whole "hotel" was really well kept. Lisa at reception was really helpful and staff generally v nice.
Right next to a busy road so very very noisey most of the night. Very warm as no air con and a intermittent fan. Shame they didn't do breakfast on the premises. Corridors need some air too.
Staff was lovely and very helpful. Rooms were well refurbished and seemed newly built. Good coffee and tea offer included and a vending machine for snacks. Location was very good.
It'd be good that for the price they could include breakfast. One of the rooms was very warm and the little fan provided wasn't enough to cool it down.
Locatie midden in het stadje.. Ruime kamer.
Quirky top floor room no external noise. View across rooftops of Dorchester
It's a very quiet and comfortable hotel. There's no food served, there is plenty of places to eat nearby. There's also no bar so no noisy drinkers or music.
I didn't find anything wrong with the hotel.
Clean and comfortable rooms in a good location.
We arrived after 10pm so the screen check in was a little challenging initially.
Lovely, Georgian property. Very comfortable & great location.
No restaurant, but free communal coffee/tea machine plus kettle & restocked beverages in room. Close to cafés, pubs, etc.
Spacious communal areas with nice touches such as tissues and games. Excellent shower. Beautiful building. Dining area very comfortable.
Two glasses in the room hadn't been washed.
Great decor and interior. Great bed and bathroom. Very clan.
There was no air-conditioning, and we couldn't even properly open the window. They put some fans, but that was not even near being bearable. We were told it was exceptionally warm, and the facilities weren't prepared for it. They did offer a refund, which was really kind, but we decided to stay for the 3 nights.
Small hotel right on the high street so very convenient location. Everything spotlessly clean and comfortable. What they offer is limited i.e. no restaurant, but what they do they do very well indeed. Staff very helpful and friends. Excellent value for money.
Very good value. Nice room. Clean and comfortable
Lighting was way too bright. Please consider having at least one of the bed side lights much lower wattage. Thanks
Good location lovely bathroom
Very noisy at the front.
Large comfortable room, characterful property in great location.

Staff only present between 10am-6pm. Old building so no soundproofing and very creaky floors no lifts
Location
Over priced for what it is
Location is 2 minutes from main street and museums. 7 minutes stroll from the main Brewery Square. Quiet, beautiful character stay. Great beds. Free coffee in the downstairs area. Space to sit & eat your own takeaways/meal with use of microwave in the previous dinning room. No longer have serve breakfasts on site but have many great places just a few minutes away (we enjoyed not having to make a breakfast timing) Have breakfast suggestions in the room as well as QR code for local online food delivery option. Big room and bathroom with good shower over bath. Lovely staff! We were able to check in early because the room was ready. Yay. Tea, coffee & kettle in the room. No gym....but didn't need it! Exploring 🙂Wi fi good.
If we had to be picky....no air conditioning in rooms. Staff did supply 2 fans (already going in the room on arrival) and warn us about the no aircon on check in, which was appreciated. It was a heat wave when we stayed. All older places we have stayed in the UK & Europe during the heatwaves this summer have had the same issue. The 2 fans solved the issue. The downstairs dinning room was lovely & cool.
Mooie kamer heerlijk bed
Cleanliness
Staff not available before ten or after six evening No restaurant
The settings. Nicely done, lots of places to sit and relax. Big dining area with lots of tables, but no breakfast... Strange.
We should have read the reviews with more attention. Parking at the back of the hotel is owned by Just Parking and prices are extortionate. This is not clear in the information you find upfront in the booking.com page. It is only mentioned in the reviews, and not in a negative way. In short, misleading.
The room was clean and bed comfortable
There are no staff available visibly so it feels very impersonal. No breakfast. The car park used to be for the hotel guests' use but is now managed by just park which I failed to notice on late arrival last night, having previously parked then when it was under different management. I prefer more personal touch in a hotels
Excellent service , very welcoming and extremely clean room.
Nothing
They had a breakfast guide which I used
Location
Lack of parking but understandable in city centre location
Great place to stay, stayed here a few times due to work. There is a great canteen area where you can heat food up, eat a take away, there is also tea and coffee freely flowing too. Rooms are very clean and beds are extremely comfortable... I always get a good nights sleep. Staff are very friendly and always remember you from previous visits, see you all soon, i'm sure.
The only thing i didn't like was getting up for work, and not being able to stay in the nice comfy bed for a little bit longer!!
Bit pricey for one night with no breakfast
Central location. On site parking if you pre book. Very helpful staff. Very clean and everywhere looked well looked after. Lots of lounge areas and plenty of tea and coffee at all times. A very nice hotel
Not much to dislike. It was extremely hot when we stayed and the only fault we had was that the window wouldn’t stay open. We propped it open which helped and Housekeeping supplied us with two fans.
Lovely building , perfect location
The attic room was very hot , windows are little there so not much ventilation
Location and comfort
Minimal staff presence and no food or bar service other than from vending machines and free coffee. A waste of what was obviously previously an inn
A great location
All good
Bedroom quite spacious. Bed comfortable. No breakfast (known in advance) but attractive local cafes readily available and actually a good alternative !
Reception unmanned 18.00 to 10.00 next morning. Though the auto booking in and out was easy to use & worked well. But definitely NOT the hotel experience I appreciate. Place soulless and very plain. Just a place to sleep. so not good value for money at the price asked.
Very quaint little hotel and room, in a very quaint little location.
No complaints
The staff were very friendly and approachable; fulfilling our requests and needs at no moments notice.
More a nik-pic but there was no AC so during the recent heat waves the room would've been hard to stay in, the window provided felt unsafe on the bottom floor due to ease of reaching their hand in from outside. TV needs re-tuning as it was outdated and hard to understand what was on at night on the guide.
Good location in a lovely old building. Easy staff-free check in (we arrived after 6pm). Coffee machine downstairs. Friendly staff on check-out and huge spacious room. We were facing the back which was much quieter than the front.
Walls were quite thin meaning you could hear the person on the phone in the room behind Lack of variety of tea (only english breakfast) available
Friendly staff, beautiful building, comfortable rooms, just absolutely amazing and definitely want to stay again next time myself and my partner in Dorchester!
Ate out at two places and both ok
Everything
Nothing
Quirky.
Noisy road (no double glazing due to age)
The location and bathroom
Water was left in the kettle. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room needed a vacuum. There were no staff working past 5pm.
As returning gyests we received a very warm welcome. Our hotel.of choice due to how wonderful the staff are and the styke, class and comfort of the interiors. Well appointed comfirtable rooms, a loveky guests lounge to relax in with a well equipped hot drink area for guests to enjoy.
Everythibg was great no complaints.
Everything!
I choose sleeping bears as it was very close to the party I was attending so picked for location
I was on a single room on top floor with no lift we were in The middle of a heat wave but that couldn’t be helped! Only issue was lamp wasn’t working told the receptionist next day as desk is only manned from 10am til 6pm. I was advised I should have had both light switches on the wall down(opposite the lamp side of wall) in order for the lamp to work, I think a note on laminate paper in the room could have helped that situation. Also no WiFi code in the room I’m from the UK so had unlimited data but noticed the next day the code was featured downstairs again something in the room would have been handy for overseas guests or anyone that needs WiFi
Beautiful building where it needed to be facilities really good room warm clean and comfortable the bed was amazing.
Perhaps reception hours could be extended to maybe 7 but not really anything to worry about.
It was so lovely and kept very clean. Did not see any staff as I turned up late in the evening. I would recommend using this place
I love the place it’s the first time I’ve stayed there very clean and tidy furniture and beds very well kept the property is kept to a high standards
Smart, attractive hotel right in the centre, close to restaurants. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the huge bathroom with whirlpool bath and walk-in shower was a real treat! The man on reception was friendly, helpful and accommodating to a couple of requests we had such as a slightly later check out. Would recommend!
Nothing.
Self check-in was really useful, breakout rooms, brew station in the foyer
The 'doorbell' buzzer was really quiet, especially contrasted against the traffic driving by
Bed was comfortable and room fairly large. Nice en-suite bathroom. Standard coffee and tea facilities were provided in the room and milk available free from the 'fridge downstairs. The hotel was central so could eat out if you want to risk it. Dorchester has appalling takeaways and only two pubs that serve decent beer. Truly a waste land
Whilst I was staying in Dorchester they reduced the welcome biscuit packs from decent biscuits to the small malt coffee type biscuits and whats with the sticker on the toilet roll, sealing the end of the roll? Pretentious 'twaddle'- a word I've been saving for such a situation
the suite was well appointed. comfortable bed and super clean bathroom
all good
The hotel was very well appointed.
room is excellent
Everything
Nothing
Everything was how we wanted and expected, the room was a lovely size not cramped or anything, the shower and bath were excellent no complaints at all, the manager LISA WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, as I say no complaints at all, we were there for a very sad occasion my future son in laws funeral so we were very close to amenities etc .
As I have said previously I have no complaints at all, I even had a breakfast in the red umbrella which was delightful, and even to my surprise we tried the weatherspoons which was excellent value and a lovely civilised eating and drinking experience and also very cheap.
Very good value for money and a great location.
Very central to everything staff very friendly and property very clean and comfortable
Nothing it was all good
Clean. Friendly staff. Good facilities and several communal reception rooms.
Limited parking on site, but ample parking a couple of minutes walk away.
Rooms clean and conveniently located
We've stayed twice. Preferred room of 1st stay as bigger bath but it's the luck of the draw
Comfortable room, clean and well-appointed bathroom Excellent service from all staff Good pub food at reasonable prices
Very comfortable and accessible room.
Perfect location, really friendly staff, room was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable night. Parking on site if you pre book before you arrive. There is a place you can sit with plates and cutlery and eat if you want to bring food back with you. There is also a drinks station so you can make a coffee and sit in the lounge.
Nothing was great
I arrived at approximately 19.00 pm. At the rear door I rang the entry bell repeatedly and was answered eventually by a person who sounded very put out at being disturbed. He opened the door when I said I had a room booked, so I was given entry to the hotel with no confirmation of who I was, (With the recent Travlelodge incedent I found this disturbing) he went on to say there were no staff on duty and I would have to book myself in at a console in the lounge; as if I knew where the lounge was. I then went through an agonising "Automated" booking procedure, enentually succeeding in producing a room card. I had noted another console in the empty reception area and on checking found it to be a book your parking machine. Of course it meant downloading a random parking app which I do not want and was charged £11.19 for parking at the back of the hotel, this of course meant I had to add bank card details a thing I do try to avoid. At the bottom of the stairs was an out of order vending machine, top news for me who could have done with a snack. The actual building was fine, the room was clean and the bed reasonable. As there is no food available in the hotel I had to go out. On return at the front of the hotel which was had scaffolding up I was unable to use the "Facial recognition system" to get in because it was partially obsured by said scaffolding, I eventually found a card reader again obscured by the scaffolding. I could see the wi-fi on my laptop but nopassword was to be found and nobody to ask. Now some may find this to be a good thing but I found the entire process awfull I will never stay there again, to me this is a cost cutting exercise no staff to pay no food and drink to buy, for me staing in a hotel should be a welcoming pleasant thing to do, this was not.
No breakfast facilities
No human check in and out. Prefer to see humans than check in stations.
