L’habitació, massa petita i envellida. Llits massa estrets per a dues persones. Jacuzzi inservible.
1. Bell boy staff were all amazing & have great can-do attitudes 2. Favorite restaurants in order: UMO, ZEN, WAI, CIAO 3. Heaven building & services is reason why I’ll come back
Only 1 concierge out of 10 were helpful & knowledgeable (everyone else seemed like they were lying to me or just pushing me to another concierge staff)
Excelente ?
We love HRRM. This was our second time at this Hard Rock Resort and probably our favorite. The resort itself is quite large, there is tons of stuff to do. The shows were fantastic. We really enjoyed the Queen show, the performer was fantastic energy! But really all of the shows were great. The pool activities were always fun, Danny Girl was fun with water aerobics and trivia in the pool. The restaurants were also delicious, we loved los gallos (tacos in all ways), la petit cochon was delicious, and the market and Isla always had something good. Our Butlers Emmanuel and Daniel made the trip so perfect. Can't thank them enough. Super enjoyable trip with 8 people. We will be back!
It is a large property with good amenities. The rooms need updating. I feel it unnecessary and a waste of space to have a tub inside the room. It's definitely not soundproof. Most of the areas had leaking ceilings, and there was an awful sewage smell. On one of the days, there was a power outage twice. I was not impressed with the restaurant selection and menu. They said no reservations were needed, yet once at the restaurant, there was a 30-minute to an hour wait. The room service food was not the same quality as the one in the restaurant or buffet. Pool areas were fine, mostly well-kept. We went bowling, and it is an additional cost. They require socks and sold cheap socks for $6. Yet I saw people putting shoes on with no socks. The arcade was not free, and they charged $2 for a reloadable card, which is ridiculous as it is needed to use the machines. Shops were ridiculously overpriced. The price charged is not justifiable.
Our family had a great time at the Hard Rock Rivera Maya. A few of the employees stood out and went above and beyond to make our experience amazing… Carmelo from pool entertainment made sure we were situated and happy every day. Esmero kept our drinks full and flowing for two days at the pool and Max at the pool bar was awesome with keeping up with the long lines and constant requests from adults and kids. In general the staff was accommodating and happy which made the trip pleasant.
The queen show was an amazing experience. I had a lot of fun attending the show.
Just got to the hard Rock hotel today and we ate at La petite cochon. I have to say, the service, the food everything was amazing! Bonnie and Daniel were absolutely incredibly attentive. Their service was incomparable. I would recommend the hard Rock to anyone. And I've only been here one day! Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again to Bonnie and Daniel for such amazing service!
Hard rock hotel was a 10/10 experience. The rooms are big and clean, the pools are clean and plenty of things to do on this big resort!!! Big shoutout to entertainment team especially Giggie and Hector making our stay extra special and extra fun! Great vacation and would recommend for families with littles or for adults only as well!☀️
Great food. An immersive experience with friendly staff, even while we arrived just before closing. Bonnie was very patient and kind.
I didn't know you could borrow a Fender while you're here. I arrived at night, but I left my contact information. Estrella got in touch with me, and the next day I stopped by to pick it up. She had such great energy and style. Thanks, Estrella, for the guitar!
I cannot say enough great things about this hotel! The location is beautiful, the atmosphere is bright and fun, and the rooms were very clean and spacious! We will be back very soon!
Alejandro went above and beyond his job to ensure our stay was extraordinary. His hospitality was by far the best I have encountered at any resort.
Ok, I’ll just say this place did grow on me throughout the stay. First impressions weren’t great, as in the power went out when we were checking in and the rooms are largely underwhelming. We had the double terrace rooms, which the terrace was nice although in the summer typically too hot to be up there anyways. I agree with many previous posts that rooms would benefit from an upgrade or at the very least new doors so the dang birds didn’t wake me up every morning:). My biggest grudge with this place is the mini bar in the room, or lack there of. All other all inclusive’s I’ve been to at least had a few bottles of liquor in the room. This place only had a few beers and soda and a few bags of chips. I’m not a big drinker but I like a bourbon before diner and had to make the 20 minute round trip to the bar for a drink before dinner. C’mon hard rock, you can do better than that. Also, maybe put a few more bar tenders and waiters out there at the pool, you guys had literally more people trying to peddle time shares and picture ops than waiters or bar tenders. I guarantee if you put a few more wait staff out there you’d probably get more people wanting a time share. Just my business perspective. All that being said I took my family of four here, two kids eight and 10 and they had a great time. Lots of things for kids to do, which is largely why we chose this place…water park, laser tag, bowling, escape room, trampoline parks…etc. We were there for six days and kids certainly didn’t get bore. The restaurants were fantastic, went to almost all of them and never had a bad meal and of course the staff is always friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great stay minus the previously stated downsides. If you have a family with kids this is the spot for you.
Our stay at the HardRock was amazing! We celebrated a wedding with family and friends and the staff at HardRock did not disappoint! Thank you to the concierge team, travel/booking for excursions team, the food trucks staff, & food/beverages staff. They took care of our needs and addressed all our inquiries. A special thank you and shout out to Brenda! For her support, friendly smile and professional touch to ensure we had a memorable stay at the HardRock! Highly recommend this resort for individuals, couples and families! There's a variety of activities and food options to meet all your needs!
The food was fantastic. The service was as well. I will be back.
Very clean, Our butler's Daniel and Emmanuel are very professional and helpful very eager to help. We will return.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious. We ended up going 2 days in a row. Waiters Herme, Juan, Julio, and Joel were attentive at all time. The Manager Deily made sure everything was on point and special shout out to Chef Jose who made an extra item for us. Delicious. Would recommend this restaurant. Great job to all the staff as they all looked to be attentive.
Room recently painted and odor was not acceptable could not stand and no options available so we had to move on to another hotel using Booking.

We've been Legendary Club members since 2012 and this is our third time staying at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. With a few minor exceptions, every one of our stays has been memorable and enjoyable, but this stay with our kids and grandkids was nothing short of outstanding. This is our second time staying at HRRM with the whole family. The first was five years ago and we've seen tremendous improvement in the quality of the food and services. Yes, spending time with your family is great, but it can be challenging because everyone has different needs and desires. Our butlers, Diego and Naef, knew just how to manage and conquer that challenge. These guys were amazing. They treated us like family. They handled every request and situation swiftly, reasonably and always with the greatest concern and respect. We're all sad to leave. Everyone who served us was kind and courteous: the wait staff; the housekeepers; Axel, the guy who restocked our snacks and drinks every day; Niko and Miguel, our waiters at Umo and Wai; and Santana, our waiter at Ciao. There were many more and I'm sorry I don't remember their names because they were all exceptional. I'm not saying that everything was perfect. Things will and did go wrong but that's life. If you handle things respectfully and rationally and they will be rectified. They were rectified.
We had a great time at Hard Rock Riviera Maya. Gabriel was fantastic at facilitating our dinners, activities, etc for a decently large group. He & Samantha always had our chosen spots for us at the pool or lagoon.
We had a great week at Hard Rock Riviera Maya in May 2026. We were picked up at the airport by our private driver, Cristian, and driven the 1 hour 15 minutes to the resort. We were met at the hotel by our butlers Omar and Paola, and they saw to our every need during the week. They checked on us every day and were wonderful during our stay. Can't wait to see them again on our next trip in September. Our room was in the Rock Royalty section on the adult side. The rooms have recently been updated and looked great. This was just a chill vacation for us as we have had a very busy start to 2026. Our main goals were just to sit and relax at the pool and enjoy no responsibilities for the week. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! We spent our days at the Hall of Fame pool. It is very quiet there, and we enjoyed the time both in the water and catching up on our reading! Our servers Jorge and Carmen, and bartender Ricardo, made sure our glasses stayed full and got us food when we were hungry. There is a small menu with food/snacks. We had sunny days every day of our trip, and it was fantastic! We began every day at Faro, the breakfast restaurant on the adult side of the resort. We were greeted by hostesses Jessi and Keila, and taken care of by Charly, Walter, and Kate. My husband has mobility issues and they were always looking out for him and helping to carry his plate back to the table. There are numerous stations that have custom omelets, sweets, pancakes, basically anything you want! Yummy food is prepared by chefs Sol and Alfredo, and everything is overseen by their excellent manager Maria. They really take care of you, and we look forward to seeing Maria every trip. We have been going to HRRM for years and seeing Maria is always one of the highlights of our trip. We had dinner at various restaurants, but our favorites were the newer ones, UMO and WAI. At WAI Gabriel was our server and we had crab rangoon, pad thai, spring rolls and beef satay. Everything was very good. At Zen we did the a la carte rather than hibachi, and Lalo made our visit extra special by treating us to Mexican Coffee with the special show that goes along with that! It was really nice! Toro is the steakhouse, Rigoberto was our server and we had a HUGE short rib! Our favorite for this trip was UMO (Barbacoa Maya). We went twice and had Elmer both times. He remembered us from our first visit and was so nice! We enjoyed the tortilla soup, beet salad, barbacoa taco and catch of the day. Everything we had there was excellent! My husband did the hydrotherapy most days and he highly recommends it! We only did the Queen show this visit, it was excellent, but TOO loud. I wish they would turn down the volume a bit! We avoid the Rock Show because of how loud it is. It is a large resort and my husband has mobility issues so we rent a scooter for him to zip around while we are there. It really comes in handy trying to get from place to place. We didn't do any excursions or the presentation. We just sat by the pool, had some wonderful dinners, an occasional show, and found a bar for a night cap each night. Truly a lovely, relaxing vacation.
My husband and I spent May 13-19 at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. The last time we were at this property, it was Aventura Spa Palace, one of The Palace Resorts, and it was spectacular, our favorite. As a Hard Rock, not so much. As Aventura, it had a beautiful, elegant Mexican hacienda feel. Most of the buildings now seem to be in a state of disrepair, especially around the tops of the buildings, which are crumbling. Many of the room doors appear to be rotting with large gaps at the top. The buildings are labeled Hacienda Roja (red) and Hacienda Azul (blue). If you look at the current on-line pictures, the buildings had been painted garish red and blue. Someone apparently realized their mistake, and the buildings have been repainted to their original beige – a definite step in the right direction in rectifying the tackiness. There are two main buildings, an adults-only side and a family side. There were huge iron chandeliers in a courtyard area on both sides. On the adult side, these fixtures have had a “lampshade” affixed to them which is a huge silver metal ring that looks like it was beaten with a sledgehammer. Tacky, ugly. There is a large fountain in the center of the courtyard. It was dry. There is also now a huge fake tree of a variety foreign to the Yucatan. As we are Palace members and our membership rolled over to include the properties that were turned into Hard Rocks, we expected the benefits of membership. Instead, we were given a room in Building 1 that had a view of a concrete parking area and a large dead tree. Its location was as far from everything as it was possible to get. The room was missing its traditional terrycloth slippers, the makeup towelettes provided were completely dried up, the fixture for the coffee pods holds six pods but there were only two and they were decaf. The room itself was just plain tacky. The walls were navy blue here, beige over there, painted white wood here, fake stone over there. In all, there were six different textures/colors on the walls, just chaotic. The headboard looked like it belonged in a dungeon with chains attached. The floor was gritty, and the whole room just felt not quite clean. The shower is very large and nice with an exceptional showerhead. My husband enjoys soaking in the jacuzzi tub. He filled it up and sat to soak. A few minutes later, he asked me if I thought the water looked dirty. Yep. He drained the tub and when the water was gone, the entire tub was encrusted with dirt and grit. It was fairly nauseating to see what he had been sitting in. That’s when we went to Member Services and demanded a different room. We were moved to Building 2 with a much better view (there are no actual “oceanfront” rooms unless you are in a Presidential Suite) and closer to the pool, restaurants and lobby building. We also now had slippers, six coffee pods, usable makeup removers, a security lock on the door, a light in the closet, two hooks over a drain in the bathroom for wet bathing suits, and the jacuzzi tub did not fill up with dirt. The colors were toned down, and there were not as many of them. The headboard was replaced with something more normal. It did appear that they were making these changes in all the rooms in Building 2. Interestingly, when we went back to Building 1 to get our things to move to Building 2, the maid had already cleaned the room, not knowing we were moving. Yet, the jacuzzi tub was STILL filthy. We reported it to Member Services and received a shrug. In the past it was so nice to comes back to the room after dinner and the show to find the bed turned down, house-made chocolates on the pillow, low lights, soft music playing on the TV and fresh towels. Nope – all gone. And no more adorable towel animals. There are many positives. The spa is just as nice as when it was Aventura for the most part. The services were exceptional. We both had three massages and a facial as they were running a fantastic special. We were unable to make use of the hydro facilities due to a recent surgery, but they looked very nice and clean. The nightly shows were good. At the “Queen” show, the impersonator had Freddie’s mannerisms down pat, if not the voice. But then no one sang like Freddie. The Michael Jackson impersonator was one heck of a dancer, as were all of them. The Circus show was nice. The theater could use some A/C, though, as it was extremely warm. The fire show is the one show held outside at the pool. We have seen fire shows many times, but this one was exceptional as they have added costumes, makeup and drama. We ate at Toro (steak house), which was my favorite. Also, La Petit Cochon (French), Caio (Italian) and Wai (Thai) were nice, although I am somewhat of a picky eater and often struggled with my order. (Grasshoppers? Nope.) Zen (Asian) was fun. We did not have the set menu at the Teppanyaki tables, which were quite lively, but ordered off the extensive regular menu. Our waiter went above and beyond the menu to set fire to our dessert (fresh pineapple with brandy over coconut ice cream) and give us a nice show. We also had Mayan coffee at Toro, which was another good fire show. The buffets - The Market, Faro Gastro Market and La Isla - were a huge disappointment. I always love the Mexican resort buffets. Not this time. The pastries were very dry and bland. The breakfast choices were strange. At lunchtime, three different times we entered the restaurant the very second they opened. And all three times, the French fries, onion rings and pizza were stone cold right from the start. The pizza comes from brick wood-fired ovens and looks delicious, but always cold. One day I had sushi, but had to beg for soy sauce and could not get wasabi or ginger. The next day, all three were available, but there was no sushi. The best thing at the buffets is the ice cream. Even if you are staying on the adults-only side (Heaven), there are children everywhere. There is one pool, one bar and two restaurants (Le Petit Cochon and Faro) that are child-free. You must call for a golf cart to take you around the property or be prepared for a very long walk if you are staying on one side and eating on the other. LONG walk. The property is very confusing, and it was time to go home before we started to get our bearings. The adult pool was nice and had great live rock music on the weekend. It was impossible, however, to get a chair unless you staked it out at dawn. The glass cases containing the performance costumes of various rockers were interesting. There are spider monkeys on the property, as well as coati mundis, raccoons, sereques and iguanas, and we saw them all. The raccoons roam the hallways looking for a snack from room service trays left outside the door. Very adorable, but messy. Did we have a terrible time at HRRM? No, there were positives. Would we go back to HRRM? Absolutely not. And ONLY adults-only from now on. We “re-learned” that lesson.
Our butlers Vincent and Irmin were tremendous! So professional and took care of 7 of us including our 15 month old granddaughter. Dinner reservations, Bali Beds, excursions, dinner in suite all done to perfection!!
If you are considering this resort, please reconsider. At the very least, do not splurge on the Rock Royalty Partial Ocean View upgrade. It will likely be a tremendous disappointment. We recently booked four rooms for our party of six and opted for the partial ocean view upgrade which cost an additional $100 per night per room. For us, that entailed a $1500 surcharge. However, just one of the rooms we were given actually had a partial ocean view. A second room had a slight view if seated on the balcony. The remaining two rooms had no view of the ocean even when sitting on the balcony! The view was trees, buildings and a bit of the pool. Photographs are attached. Additionally, none of the added incentives listed in the room description were provided to us until the last day of our stay. This Rock Royalty Partial Ocean View upgrade is a total con on the part of Hard Rock. I did complain, and was told these rooms were correctly categorized which is completely ludicrous. We were, of course, charged the double occupancy rate even for our two single occupancy rooms. A food and drink credit should have been provided accordingly. Additionally, pool chairs at this resort are impossible to find, even at the off season time of our visit. The hotel is extremely loud, the rooms are small and dated, the food is mediocre at best and you probably realize there is no beach. If you have the choice to stay somewhere else, you most definitely should. The Hard Rock Riviera Maya is a huge waste of money
Hotel overall is great. Service meets expectations. Rooms needs a little TLC. Overall facilities are great to a family vacation We upgraded our legendary membership and they gave us complimentary “hall of fame” bracelets for the rest of our stay. It was an upgrade to our experience. We were a bug family group (almost 20 people all ages). Our concierge team (Paola and Omar) improved our overall experience. Thanks for all your help and support.
The room was extremely outdated, with cobwebs on the ceiling, sinks that wouldn't drain, and an air conditioning system that failed multiple times throughout our stay. We had to submit several maintenance requests just to address basic issues that should have been resolved before guests arrived. To make matters worse, I suffered second-degree burns on my arm after being forced to walk a considerable distance in the sun because the resort would not allow our excursion transportation to pick us up at the lobby. Guest safety and convenience did not seem to be a priority. We were also charged $50 by the resort's taxi service for a very short ride from the gate to the lobby. As female travelers, this felt unreasonable and left us feeling taken advantage of rather than valued as guests. The customer service was equally disappointing. At checkout, when I was trying to locate airport transportation that had been arranged by our travel agent, the concierge simply handed me a phone and told me to call the transportation company myself. I expected assistance, not to be left handling the situation on my own. The final straw was the power outage on our last day. While I understand outages can happen, power was restored to other guests' rooms while mine remained without electricity. The only reason power was eventually restored was because I called and informed staff that my room still had no power. There is no excuse for not verifying that all guest rooms had been restored before considering the issue resolved. Between the room conditions, maintenance issues, injury, poor customer service, excessive transportation charges, and power outage, this stay fell far below the standards I expected from a Hard Rock property. I cannot recommend this resort and will not be returning.
Location is a little far, atmosphere is great, rooms are great and our staying was amazing. We're had a great time. This place is definitely next level! 😍☀️🍹 México never disappoints
(Spring 2026) We recently spent 16 nights at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, and we had a fantastic time! The weather was perfect, but the sargassum was extremely heavy when we arrived. Due to the efforts of the tireless workers, and a favorable shift in the current, the natural sea coves cleared over the first six days, and the water was beautiful thereafter. On this trip, my wife and I were accompanied by our three daughters (+ one fiancé), and granddaughter (+ friend). We all stayed in Heaven, and two of the rooms received upgrades! It was really great to have all our girls with us, and since everyone left the resort on different days, my wife and I had our last six days to ourselves. My wife and I love this resort! This was our ninth visit since 2017, and it was great to be home…so many familiar faces among the staff, who welcomed us with open arms and warm hugs! We thought the food and service were exceptional throughout the resort. Thanks to Legendary for the Members Appreciation events (Taco Festival; Sabor y Tradicion Show and Dinner on Mother’s Day; two Ceviche Days)! Special thanks to: (1) Our butlers Moises, Paola, and Omar…the A Team! We appreciated the daily visits at the beach and at dinner, and for all they did to satisfy the needs of our group of eight and make our visit carefree. A special, special thanks to Elias for his kindness and thoughtfulness. (2) Ricardo and Mariana (working out of the members pool bar) for the incredible beach service (3) Damien at Sun Bar, where we stopped every morning after our “monkey walk” (Muchas gracias para el “Cabrito”), and Romero (Jesus). (4) Irai, Dago, and Sergio who made our frequent visits to Arribo bar extra special. A pleasure to see these guys again! (5) Mukul at Jigger & Shaker, who contributed to a memorable visit to HRHRM last November (6) Elizabeth, Manu, Gabi, and Walter for continued quality and friendly service at Faro, with a special shout out to Maria, the manager at Faro, who is simply a gem! (7) We visited Wai and Umo five times in total, so many, many thanks to Alita, Angel, Effrain, Frankie (thanks for the special churros!), Mar, Matilde, Miguel and Jacki for outstanding service. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Marissa, formerly of Zen, who manages both Wai and Umo very effectively, and is as pleasant as the day is long. (8) We dined at Ciao four times and were pleasantly surprised on our last visit when we were introduced to a new, and wonderful menu! Many thanks to Arrida, Enrique 1, Enrique 2, Gabi, Haveni, Santana, and “Spider Man”. (9) We dined outside at Frida where we had great seats for the Fire Show, and were served expertly by Luis, Romuardo, and Victor. (10) Ivan at Toro (11) Herme and Dani 1 and Dani 2 at Petit. We congratulate Legendary/HRHRM for hiring and recognizing quality employees like these and the many more who contributed to a fantastic vacation. The remainder of the review is intended for Legendary Vacation Club (LVC), and its members. We have been LVC members for 10 years and have been extremely satisfied with our HOF membership. During this past visit to HRHRM, a decision was made by LVC upper management to terminate the employment of a butler for an error in judgement. We agree that management was right to take disciplinary action in this situation, but we feel the action taken was extreme and exceedingly unjust. We have known the butler for several years and know him to be an excellent worker and a fine human being. We know several members who share these sentiments. Unfortunately, it seems that members opinions are largely discounted. We vigorously oppose the decision made by LVC upper management, and in response, we have decided to no longer pursue upgrades to our membership and will excuse ourselves from all future “members meetings”.
For background, been to multiple AI resorts in Mexico and Punta Cana. First time at a Hard Rock. Trip Advisor reviews gave me a ton of info so returning the favor. We went last week of May (Memorial Day) with a 16 yr old and 18 yr old. Overall had a great time - it was vacation. Nothing bad, but probably won't return. Airport transfer - we booked through Happy Shuttle Cancun separately - great deal with promo code, prompt, safe, courteous. Should've taken the add they offered for drinks at the ready, as got some good drinks at the airport for the drive...but they were spendy. South of Playa del Carmen, it takes about an hour to get there, but we were delayed with a bad accident. Check-in - was the fastest ever....we actually got NO orientation of the hotel...but through reviews and videos I was fine. This was due to the "Legendary" time share staff doing the orientation and I just was firm and said no and walked away. And when they called the room periodically about the resort credits, I just hung up. So that effectively avoided the timeshare push, but also we were then on our own to figure things out. Resort grounds - nice...but dated. Rooms, clean...but dated. Definitely seen some use and coudl use some refresh. Music- yes, its the hard rock, but be prepared for music all th time. Go for a coffee at 630 and only 3 people in the lobby - music blasting. I get it, it IS the brand. But after a bit it did take away from the tropical atmosphere and "vacation" feel of it. Red/Blue/Heaven - we stayed closer to the red lobby, but utilized the blue pool area more and more our scene with less little kids and chaos. While 3 of us COULD venture into the other side, my son who is 16 and looks like he is 22 could not....and they prevented us from eating at 3 of the better restaurants. Towel Game/Reservations - after reading reviews here I was prepped for the reservation game and headed out early. We found that it is no different here than at any other resort..if you want prime loungers, reseve them by 8 am with towel, clips, personal item etc....but at 630am you will be the only one. So if you stroll down to the pool at noon and hope for a prime lounger and aren't a highroolin vacation club member, you may be disappointed. But if you have been to an AI before, it is not different than the others. We saw good seats still open at 10am. Only problem we had one day was when we went to lunch fr 10 min at the buffet 30 yds away and came back to 18 yrolds sitting on our personal stuff eating burgers and fries. Shows - heard the MJ and Queen were the best and they weren't offered the nights we were there. But there was a rock pop dinner show at the convention center we went to and really enjoyed. Food was average but entertainment was good. Food - was decent, not great. We went to Toro twice actually as even though we are from beef country and usually disappointed in beef on vacation it was very good. The service is decent at all places. Just the atmosphere that needs an update - Toro is a beautiful location, but window tint doesn't match, scratched up, ceiling dripping...all SMALL things but they are detracting. Overall food quality good variety., options, all safely prepared etc. Drinks - as others have said if you want top shelf, ask for it, and tip a bit. The bars only get so many bottles (sometimes one) of a premium for the day...and when gone, its gone. At the blue pool, I tipped and got great drinks brough to me for the day. And the hidden bar was easy to walk to and had NOBODY there waiting. At dinner it was weird that they were very slow on initial drink orders. And only if asked did they present any specialty cocktails....they had them, just had to be prompted. Dinner reservations/timing - without reservations, we just went early and found 630 had no wait...gets a bit busy by 7. So that is when we ate. If you want to eat at 730 be prepared for a wait with everyone else. Crowd - the only thing we didnt estimate due to our timing was the large amount of "senior trips" of 18yr old groups. So there was a lot of that....and my 16 yr old was too young to hang with them, and my 18 yr old is more of a loner....so those large groups defined the crowd when we were there. Vibe - again it is the brand, and I knew it , but it was more Americanized than I expected....and that kind of took away from the vacation aspect to me - wasn't like I was in a different country... Beach/Sargassum - as you know there isn't one....and then the lagoons they have fight and fill with sargassum. The seaweed is not the resorts fault and its arrival has completely changed the coastline and the economis impact will likely be devastating....I fished in Playa Del Carmen ($40 taxi) with a captain I fished with two years ago, and it has completely changed - we had to wade through waist deep sargassum slop to get to the boat where we used to just walk out in smooth sand in flip flops. Some beach places are no more and others smell so bad you can't stand it. Just beware of the sargassum situation here and in any east-facing caribbean coast. Lobbys - One thing I missed was the lack of an open lobby bar...the lobby had a sports bar but it was contained so it also contained all the noise and activity.....also there was no real place to get a drink after 6 by the water....you had to be at a restaurant or in the lobby. It might be just me, but I like the central lobby bars that are jsut open and then you can either set up shop or hand on the edges.... Room - we had a two-bedroom family suite with sky terrace. Ample room, sky terrace was neat but not really needed. It is apparently where they stick the chaise lounges before they throw them away. Mini bar and snacks filled daily. Both rooms cooled nicely - one slightly better than the other solved by thermostat setting - running one room at 20degC and one at 21deg C. Our king mattress could've used replaced - definitely had the sitting "dent" on it. Service - people were great, I tipped small amounts $1 per drink, $10-$20 for all day at pool and got great service. Many did not tip at all, and I coudl see that it did make a difference. Pool bars were "slow to wakeup" and get going....just a different vibe than I have seen in the past. Overall a good vacation, glad we went. Not sure I will go back but that is more of wanting some updated amenities and a different vibe for my vacation.
Visited here as an extended family of 6 with our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren. This was our first experience of staying in such a large hotel and overall the experience was favourable. The hotel is basically split into 3 sections. The red section aimed at families, a middle ground blue section and then the adults only Heaven section. The size of the place is a bit overwhelming when you first arrive but you soon get to know your way around. Good points Staff, food and wildlife. The staff, without exception, were very friending and efficient. I really couldn't fault them. Food was generally very good. It was never a problem getting into any of the restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Zen Asian restaurant. The other thing we really enjoyed was the amount of wildlife around the resort, including iguanas , agoutis, Mexican raccoons and squirrel monkeys. Not so good points We thought that the bar section could have been better in the evening. The only bar available in the evening (outside of the adults only section) was the Sun bar in the red lobby. We were surprised that there wasn't anything outdoors. Sunbed reserving was also a bit of an issue.
During our recent visit to Hard Rock Riviera Maya, we had a wonderful dining experience at Frida Restaurant. Our servers, David and Citlali, were absolutely exceptional. They were warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable evening. The food was also amazing—beautifully prepared, flavorful, and memorable. Combined with the excellent service, it made for one of the highlights of our stay. We highly recommend Frida Restaurant and would especially like to thank David and Citlali for making our experience so special. We look forward to dining here again on a future visit!
The wonderful Hard Rock Riviera Maya hotel is sensational, impeccable, clean, beautiful and organized, with excellent food! We highly recommend it! Daniel, Emmanuel and Mayumi, thank you 100%! The entire Faro restaurant team is very attentive and deserves 1000 compliments every time.
Me encanta todo

Great food great service thank you Kevin and Romualdo
Great Service
AC not great
We just took a weeks vacation to this resort for Mother’s Day with 10 ladies! Our vacation was simply amazing!!! From the moment we were picked up from the airport, every detail was fabulous! The staff here works so hard and is so friendly. The restaurants were top notch and all of our meals were wonderful! We took in several of the nightly shows and they were all great! This hotel is extremely clean and the rooms are very comfortable! We did have butler service with Paola and Omar and they made our trip even more magical! They both went out of their way to accommodate every request that we had and we couldn’t be more happy with the attentive service we had from them! Hard Rock Riveria Maya will not disappoint!!!
My husband and I took our college-aged son to Mexico for a nice little break after school. We choose Mexico for the sun and beaches/snorkeling. We wanted an all-inclusive for the unlimited pina coladas. This resort is huge - split into the Blue/Azul (families) lobby and the Red/Rojo (adults only) lobby with plenty of pools and restaurants/dining options. There are 7 separate buildings with rooms: 1-2 in Blue (adults only) and 3-7 in Red (families). We were in building 6. We were all adults but we wanted adjoining rooms so those were only available on the family side. This is a very popular spot to have weddings. Each night (and some days), we saw several weddings in the HR's gazebos along the ocean-side path. This did not interrupt our vacation at all - it is just an observation. Pros: * Room - We booked a 2 bedroom/bath deluxe sky terrace room. We wanted adult son to have his own space. It was two conjoined rooms (lockable doors to separate for privacy) each with own full bath, mini fridge, closet, table & chairs and balcony. Plus stairs up to a huge terrace with lounge chairs, bar-height table and chairs, smaller round table and chairs, jacuzzi tub and bathroom. The rooms were a good size and the cleaning staff did a great job of keeping everything stocked and clean. We were very pleased with our room. *Dining - We've been to many all-inclusive resorts over the past 25 years and HR has some of the best food we've had. It's by no means gourmet but it is very good for an all-inclusive. There were a multiple restaurants, bars and quick dining options in both sides. Even the buffet (The Market) had a wide array of different foods. We really liked Ciao (Italian restaurant), Zen (Japanese restaurant) and Toro (steakhouse). *Pools with amenities: There are multiple pools across both sides of the resort. All are in close proximity to bars and several dining/snack options. There is plenty of shaded seating. As with most resorts, people will go early in the morning and "save" the prime seats. However, we went several mornings after breakfast - even as late as 11 am - and still found seats with shade. **We went the weekend of Memorial Day so maybe the resort was less crowded. *Golf carts: As I stated, the resort is big but walkable. However, there are golf carts constantly shuttling people across the resort at all hours. We never had an issue getting around the resort. Entertainment: We went to several of the shows and they were really good and entertaining. We especially like the hard rock show. Vibe City is great for families. We went bowling one night. Just noting that you should make a reservation to bowl. They had multiple activities there like batting cage, air hockey, trampolines, water slides and other arcade type things. Service: All of the cleaning, restaurants, bars, pools and shops staff were all top notch. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Cons: *Beach - there is very little beach at this resort. You can walk along a path along the ocean but it is all rocks. There are few areas that they have put little beaches in for the resort. What little beach they have is nice and with lots of chairs and there seemed to be plenty of attendants making sure you had any drink/food you needed. Just make a note, if you want to have a beach vacation, I'd pick a different location. *Sargassum (stinky seaweed): Sargassum season is April - August with May-July being the worst. This is not the HR's fault, it is just the facts. I was very impressed at how hard the crew at the HR works on a daily basis to try to clear the sargassum from what little beach fronts they have. I would have given this review 5 out of 5 stars but there were a few incidents with our hotel concierge that left a bad taste in my mouth. I know he was just doing his job but he came across as pushy and petty a few times. I'm not naming names because it is not a big deal but it did lower my opinion of the resort a bit. Also, another minor thing, we were disappointed in the lack of hard rock music played at the resort. We kind of assumed we'd hear much more being that it is named Hard Rock. Not a bid deal - just an observation.
Victor and Citlali were great servers at Frida. We had a great experience and the food was amazing! He helped with dishes and was very accommodating!
Friends of ours have been to this resort several times and it came highly recommended from them. We traveled with our 4 adult children and stayed in building 2 on the Heaven side. We had the best time! Great food, nice room, entertaining shows in the evenings. We have no complaints. The entertainment team, specifically Jazz, Val, Gigi and Roberto, were absolutely amazing!! Words cannot express how kind, accommodating, fun and enthusiastic they were. They knew us by name, gifted us matching hats and met us in the lobby to say goodbye as we departed! We love them!!
The amazing staff at The Hard Rock Hotel & Resort Riviera Maya make it possible to transform a vacation to a memorable and meaningful one. First, my family and I start the morning by heading to Faro where we see compassionate waitresses such as Gabby, who loves to interact and be able to know her tourists even more. Her presence is felt throughout our family and we love the smile she brings with her every morning. Next, as we finished devouring our sweet and savory breakfast, my family is set to hit the adult only pool by enjoying the atmosphere all the way up to late afternoon. The staff members pool side are phenomenal to their guests by providing what is all-inclusive food/drinks with entertainment. The activities for everyone like water aerobics, palates, poker, bingo, mini golf, and soccer(which I gladly won) are led by leaders such as Otto and Jazzi. These two love to have fun and create an environment where entertainment is at a premium. Pool side servers like Ricardo make the all-inclusive aspect “all-inclusive.” For instance, I was able to golf yesterday and came back shortly after two in the afternoon and Ricardo was right there within five minutes having my drink memorized and ready. Lastly, the organization of the vacation comes from our terrific butlers, Ignacio and Bernardo. They split their duties by dedicating their heartfelt ours to make our family have the best vacation possible. The butlers between the two check in with us often( pool side and dinner time) with reserving our seats for an entertaining theatre experience. Without them, the vacation does not go as smoothly as it has been. To all the staff at The Hard Rock Hotel & Resort Riviera Maya, thank you for dedicating your hours to making Riviera Maya a pristine and fun environment.
We had an amazing week at this resort. We're Very thankful to our butlers, Lucio and Fernando. The best butlers you can have in HRRM. They both went beyond to make our stay fun and comfortable. We appreciate you treating us like Royalty. Thankful also to these wonderful bartenders Diego, Mukul, Dago and Carlos (Pool). You made it fun for us at the bar.😊 We also appreciate Ms. Maria, the Faro manager. She is always checking on us. These kind of staff are the reasons why we came back to the resort.
We had a private event at the bowling with 24 friends and had a blast! Perfect place to have a party and a fun night, thanks to all the staff that were super friendly and hope we can go back again soon!
Great experience, personnel was great. Shout out to the Animacion Entertaining team, especially Giggie and Roberto who kept things entertaining and fun. Our butler Diego and Naef were outstanding, always on top of our needs and wants. Had a great dinner experience at the French restaurant Le Petit Cochon, server Paola and Juan were excellent.
We rarely leave negative reviews, but after exhausting every private channel available to us, we feel other travelers deserve to know about our experience at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. During our stay, my wedding ring — an item of both significant financial and irreplaceable sentimental value — went missing from within our assigned guest room. We reported the incident immediately and fully cooperated with the hotel’s investigation process. What followed was one of the most disappointing hospitality experiences we have ever encountered. The investigation timeline was repeatedly extended (48 hours became 72+ hours and beyond), communication was minimal and reactive, and we were consistently required to seek updates ourselves. At checkout, we still had no resolution, no meaningful explanation, and no transparency regarding the status of the investigation. After returning home, we escalated the matter through corporate channels and continued communicating professionally and patiently. Ultimately, we received a polished but dismissive response stating that no wrongdoing had been identified and subtly implying responsibility rested on us because the in-room safe was not used. To be clear: guests should reasonably expect their assigned hotel room itself to be secure. What has disturbed us most is not only the loss of the ring, but the way this situation was handled: * Repeated delays and shifting timelines * Lack of proactive communication * No meaningful accountability or transparency * Corporate silence after escalation * A clear focus on liability protection over guest care The hotel offered a single complimentary dinner during the process, which felt deeply inadequate given the seriousness of the situation and the emotional impact it had on our family vacation. We understand investigations may not always produce answers. However, luxury hospitality brands are ultimately judged by how they care for guests during difficult situations — and in our experience, Hard Rock failed significantly in that regard. We are sharing this publicly because after multiple attempts to resolve the matter privately and professionally, we were left without answers, resolution, or confidence in the property’s handling of guest security concerns. Travelers should be aware and take extreme precautions with valuables while staying at this resort.
Chino, Joshua, Roberto, Valeria , Jazz, GG, Gabriela (Hacienda Azul Entertainment Team) were excellent during our two week stay, nothing was too big of an ask, they kept us busy and entertained every single day. Always a smile on their faces, thank you!
Had the most amazing holiday made unforgettable by Chino, Joshua, Roberto, GiGi and all the entertainment team. All the restaurant staff and waiters were so accommodating, would definitely return
Had an amazing time at the foam party! Loved doing the water aerobics with Dani girl, Hector, Dani boy, and Axel. And thank you so much Ovi for the hats!
Our stay at the Hard Rock was absolutely amazing thanks to our butlers, Diego and Naef! They went above and beyond every single day to make our trip stress-free, relaxing, and unforgettable. They were not only attentive and professional, but also incredibly personable and genuine, which made our experience even more special. Their attention to detail and exceptional service truly made us feel like VIPs. Hard Rock is lucky to have them, and we will absolutely be requesting them by name on our next trip!

No one from stuff knows direction, we wasted hours to find out. It's a shame
The location is so beautiful. The service is amazing!! You always see people cleaning to make sure everything even the outside is clean. Some areas get loud but from my room I heard nothing. My room had alittle problem at first but then I met this AMAZING worker named Mar and she made everything absolutely better!! She always made sure I was ok! She helped me with any problems I had big or small! And whenever she seen me she always gave the the best and warmed welcomes! MAR WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND YALL SHOULD GIVE HER THE BEST RAISE!
Had an amazing visit with my family to the Hard Rock Riviera Maya in Mexico. Stayed 9 nights in the Heaven side of the resort with Faro, Umo and Le Petit Cochon being the 3 restaurants we enjoyed the most. Want to say a massive shoutout to two of the members of staff who made our stay that bit more amazing. Carlos behind the bar at the Heaven pool was brilliant at serving drinks, very friendly and always made sure we got served even when the bar was at its busiest. Brau doing the entertainment at the Heaven pool was fantastic. Whether it was a pool party or blackjack later in the day, all of the activities he ran were very enjoyable. He was so fun and definitely elevated our stay greatly.
Had an amazing time here, service was exceptional, excellent food with great choice (even in the room service menu which was included). Loved the lagoon area which was safe for kids to swim. Loads of activities including the hotel's own water park and great evening events too. Thanks for a great stay, we will definitely be back!
We've been coming here for over 20 years. It's our favorite vacation spot, with quailty food, entertainment and staff for adults as well as children of all ages. We've seen lots of changes but it's been consistently good. This trip we had two amazing butlers, Daniel and Emmanuel. We've known them both from the past and they are the best. They are knowledgable, kind and effective in taking care of any of our needs. Daniel has had many roles here over the years and has done them all well. So many special members of the staff but to name a few; Deily & Bonnie (La Petit) ,Jay (awaken your senses), Luna (aqua fitness), Marcoz (vaca planners), Brian (sales), Angel (UMO), Marianna (front desk). It was a wonderful time, as always.
Had an amazing experience at Jigger and Shaker thanks to Dago. Easily one of the best bartenders I’ve come across. Every drink was perfectly balanced and you can tell he takes real pride in his craft. Super attentive, great energy, and made the whole experience memorable. If you go, definitely sit at the bar and let him take care of you.
Edna from the laser tag games is zo amazing very nice and accommodating!
Dago was awesome at jigger and shaker! Made the best drinks. You tell him what you are in the mood for and he makes perfection! Very friendly, nice to see him every night!
This hotel has some great amenities, but falls short for a few reasons. Our room in building 9 was very tired, wardrobe doors didn’t work, drawers had fallen off hinges, mirror in bathroom didn’t work. Housekeeping was not great and our feet were always dirty from the bedroom floor not being cleaned. Service is hit and miss depending on which restaurant you are in. We had a terrible time at Torro with incorrect meals being brought to us and main course given before starter!! Others like Zen and Frida were great! If you are looking for 5 star luxury then this hotel isn’t for you and the one main reason I would absolutely not return is the sunbed situation. Sunbeds are all taken by 7am and the pool guys DO NOT remove the reserved bed towels after 30mins. However, if you tip well they will remove belongings and find you a bed. It is a ridiculous situation and one that most guests were complaining about. It made the holiday not as relaxing as we had hoped due to having to get up so early everyday.
What can I say about this hotel so many negative things wait time for restaurants is appalling unless you are American and putting tips in people’s hands. Do I really want to hear oasis blasting out at 7.00 am while having breakfast that’s before getting up at 6.00 am to get a sun bed . No bars to sit outside in the evening and chill everything in doors and so very loud . Positive nice weather and we had a great room a bit run down but the hotel is nearly 30 years old would I come back no definitely not food is aimed at Americans all fast food and crap quality
The dance class was amazing engrecia was the best teacher
This is a great hotel with delicious food and a brilliant “Vibe city” for kids to enjoy lots of activities. But I would not return for only one reason. They have nowhere near enough sun loungers for the number of guests. This forces anyone wanting a lounger to get up at 6am to head down and effectively take turns guarding them for your family. If you don’t you will go without for the day unless you happen to be lucky and find one when someone has left (usually after 3pm). It is a constant point of conversation and complaint of guests around the pool and in the reviews so given how easy it is to resolve it is frustrating that Hard Rock remain willing to negatively impact the holiday experience by failing to simply provide more beds. There is lots of space where additional beds could be provided. Areas where another row can be added. Grassed areas which provide additional areas for extras.
We are currently here as a party of 10 celebrating two big birthdays. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing. On arrival, check-in took a long time. After being awake for 22 hours, all you want is to get to your room and sleep, but this was far from smooth. We have three rooms across the hotel, and all of them smell musty and damp. The rooms are dated and, in our opinion, are four-star at best. The noise at night is horrendous. People are constantly screaming and shouting, meaning we are getting very little sleep. I have reported this four times and have been told to inform reception when it happens. I should not be policing this – the hotel should ensure guests can get a decent night’s sleep. After several conversations with reception, we were simply told, with a smile, “It’s spring break.” Why are party groups being placed next to families? After speaking to staff multiple times, it’s clear they simply don’t care. The air conditioning unit makes a loud banging noise at random intervals throughout the night. I’ve reported this three times, and it still hasn’t been fixed. After explaining all of this, reception asked what I wanted them to do. I genuinely cannot believe that after spending $45,000 on this holiday, there is such a lack of care. You are unable to reserve restaurants. For a family of ten, this means arriving at 5:30pm or waiting until 7:30pm. With four young children, this often results in splitting the group as they are hungry and tired. Reception offered us a one-time group booking, which is simply not enough. Our room has been missed for cleaning on three occasions. When we requested fresh towels, they arrived at 11:55pm, waking everyone. The noise outside then started again at 1am, followed by the air conditioning banging at 3am. We are exhausted and honestly just want to go home. The sunbed situation is completely out of control. If you are not up by 6am, you won’t get one. We observed staff selectively removing towels but still leaving others , meaning the rules are not enforced fairly. If you leave your bed for more than 30 minutes, your belongings may be removed. However, with restaurant wait times of around 25 minutes, this gives you virtually no time to eat before rushing back. When we raised this, we were instead offered a timeshare opportunity to reserve beds. This is my main issue with the hotel: it feels like a four-star experience unless you pay extra for a timeshare, which then gives you access to basic comforts like reserved sunbeds and a more “VIP” experience. If you are travelling in a group of eight or more, I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel. On a positive note, the staff themselves are friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to Mexico, but due to the hotel’s policies and overall experience, we would not stay here again. A piece of glass pierced my son’s flip-flop and cut his foot. One staff member driving a buggy stopped when he saw how much it was bleeding, and within five minutes the concierge and paramedic arrived to treat the wound. Their response was brilliant, and they really helped calm my little boy during a very stressful moment. Just some of the outstanding staff we have meet include, Eugenio our waiter in Isla, Julian, waiter in Isla and Maria - pool drinks Two members of our party have severe nut allergies, so we were initially quite hesitant about coming to Mexico. However, the hotel has been outstanding in how they manage this and has given us a lot of confidence during our stay. I have noticed a few nuts on some of the smaller cakes that weren’t labeled, which could be a concern, but overall the standard here is far better than at other hotels we’ve visited. As I write this, people are shouting outside our room and the air conditioning is banging away yet again.
My wife always wanted to do a family Easter trip and we could not have picked a better place than Hard Rock Riviera Maya. In recent trips we have been visiting both Unicos in Riviera Maya and Puerto Vallarta. These were designed to be the more upscale resorts of the Legendary resorts but Hard Rock Riviera Maya matched or exceeded the quality at both Unicos. The resort is big but it is basically divided into three different areas. There is the Rojas (Red) Lobby and the Azul (blue) Lobby for the families and a separate adult only area for a quiet couples only experience. There are different restaurants, pools and activities in each of those areas. There is more than enough going on if you want to stay in your area but also participate in any activity or restaurant at the other. The grounds, pools, beach and accommodations were first class. The beach area is not only great for swimming and kayaking but also great for snorkeling. Besides the swimming areas, if you walk the grounds you can see different species of colorful birds, coati, capybara and monkey. Finally I would like to acknowledge all the fine people at Hard Rock who made our stay such a great experience. All of the wait staff at breakfast at The Market and Toro were exceptional with a special shout out to Enrique. For our service at the pools, Ozie was the best. He was very attentive and went out of his way to provide excellent service. Finally, a very special acknowledgement to our two butlers Moises and Paola. From the time we arrived to the moment we left they were there to make sure that our every need was taken care of. If you have Hall of Fame or Chairman Status, I would recommend you ask for their service. They fulfilled every request and always had a suggestion on how to enhance our stay with dinner and show suggestions. I cant say enough about how hard they worked and above and beyond to provide us with top notch service. All in all I would give Hard Rock Riviera Maya 5 stars and rank it at the top level of the Legendary experience.
desayuno ricoy variado.
los acabados de la habitacion y la playa muy pequeña.
La habitación me pareció excelente. Adicionalmente, el personal siempre fué amable y me apoyo en todas las dudas y necesidades.
Todo me parecio excelente.
Our stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya was disappointing overall. The check-in process was ridiculously long, and when we arrived around 2 PM after traveling from Chicago, we were told our room wouldn’t be ready for several hours. Throughout the resort, bars frequently ran out of basic drink ingredients shortly after opening (for example, no mango juice for a mango daiquiri). Food options in the markets were repetitive and not refreshed often. It was also surprisingly difficult to find drinking water, as there were no water stations and asking for water at bars often seemed to confuse staff. All pools close at 7 PM, which feels extremely early for a resort. We also expected more live music and entertainment at a Hard Rock property, but activities were limited and not well communicated. When we asked for an event calendar, we were told to take a picture of it from a tablet instead of being given a printed copy. Guests should receive a printed map and activity schedule at check-in. The resort itself was clean and the staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, but the experience overall felt disorganized and lacking in amenities.
We had William and Carmelo pool concierge were amazing! Wonderful experience
Orlando and Faran are amazing! They are so kind and sweet and looked out for us so much. They helped us find chairs every morning and were just the sweetest.
Orlando and Farfan were the best ever!!! They had so much kindness and always put smiles on our face. They were so caring and made our vacation SO much better. You should definitely come here and look out for them because they are the greatest!!!
Oscar and William from the pool team did a fantastic job with the face massages! Such a treat in the heat!
Had an excellent time at the Hard Rock, food was excellent, the pools were great and best of all the activations were excellent. One of the best parts when you're laying by the pool we had Oscar and William come by for a head and back massage and it was excellent as well! Would highly recommend.
Oscar and William from pool heaven were absolutely amazing with their massage. So relaxing and I felt amazing afterwards!!
William and Oscar from the pool concierge team at heaven pool
I would say that our stay at Hard Rock Rivera Maya was better than really good. The food was great and the experience was more than a person could ask for. What made it over the top is the two people that took care of us during our stay. Diego and Naef went out of there way to meet any need we had arise as well as then thinking ahead many times to help us out before we even knew we would need it. They had recommendations for food and activities but didn't feel any pressure from them at all. They made it an incredible family vacation.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya was amazing. The resort is beautiful, well maintained, and the food, pools, and overall atmosphere were fantastic. The staff truly makes this place special. A huge thank you to our butler, Eumanual, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. His attentiveness, professionalism, and kindness made us feel truly cared for. He anticipated our needs and made everything seamless. We had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to return!
I’ll start with…I’m not typically a review person. I’m also not a blogger/influencer or travel expert. BUT I know how hard it is to choose a vacation destination so I hope my honest feedback is helpful to those planning their next trip. I traveled with my family & family friends, a group of 32, all with kids ranging from 1st grade-8th grade. We picked this place mainly based on cost, group size & family friendly amenities. The bus ride from the airport took an hour & fifteen minutes ( which we were aware of, of course, but felt very long once in it). When we did arrive, the check in process was PAINFULLY slow. It took 30-40 minutes per family to get checked in. We arrived after check in time (4pm) yet still had a few families who had to wait for rooms. It was a lot of standing around & waiting for an unnecessary amount of time. Once we were checked in & started to walk around, we were disappointed with the snack bar being empty & being told they were out of multiple types of drinks (strawberry daquiries, pina coladas, mojitos)…we were hoping this was just due to the time of our arrival, but being out of multiple items became a reoccurring theme. Constantly battling with the drinks orders, being out of burgers at the burger stand, after only 10 minutes of being open, no chicken/steak for tacos at the food truck by the water park…this happened multiple times at various spots & it started to be a 50/50 chance on if they would have what we ordered. We also struggled with the drinking water situation. There were not any fill stations or carafes to get a drink of water, outdoors, so it felt like we were constantly standing in line to order water. It would be so helpful to have a fill station of some sort around the outdoor areas. We were very pleased with the overall service, all of the friendly & attentive staff, the pool & beach area never feeling overly crowded, & being able to dine (on more than 1 occasion) with our large group of 32. The conjoined room for our family of 5 was amazing, the entertainment was enjoyable, & the kids had a blast in the waterpark/trampoline park. I personally wouldn’t pick it again for our family, but with a big group with a lot of ages to accommodate, I’d say it’s a good option. Just do your research & know what your deal breakers are! If I were to start looking again, I would look for an option closer to the airport, a streamlined check in service, more conveniently placed water fill stations & less run ins with being out of multiple items. Final note: there was no elevator (not sure if it was out of order or they don’t have one?), so being on the third floor can be a challenge & 2 water slides were closed for maintenance…these may be additional things to check on before booking!
This was the BEST vacation! Our third visit to this resort! We will be back! Staff is exceptional! Moises and Paola are TOP TIER! The best butlers with the best personalities and most helpful!!! Will recommend them every single time! Moises is like family….we will plan our trip around his schedule for sure!
The bartender Mukul was fantastic. He went out of his way to make a very special drink for my wife and his service was amazing!
The new administration is not customer oriented or that one manager was really sad, I still can't tell. The restaurant were amazing, except Le Petit Cochon which as dropped massively since Maria is not managing it anymore. The three new exclusive restaurant that you need to be a member to access, or guest of a member or be in build 1 or 2, are amazing! I did the spa every day and my Sky Terrace room was perfect. I would have given 5-star if it was not for the incompetence of the new managers.
Alejandro at Hard Rock hotel concierge service was absolutely amazing and so helpful with helping me store my breastmilk during our stay. Definitely recommend requesting him when visiting!
Lovely property, lots of fun entertainment, music everywhere which is cool! Staff are great, loved and appreciated Erika at the market, Esperanza (pool waitress) and the entertainment troupe! They are updating some of the decor, rooms are clean, well stocked. Cons: if you’re not a tiered member, it’s first come first serve at all a-la-cartes restaurants. So no reservations, on a busy spring break week ( second week of our stay) we had 1-130 hr wait at most restaurants. Missed having reservations! Also, it’s pool chair bingo, get ready to get up early if you require shade (parasols) for pool or beach during high season. We were there for 14 nights I was up by 5am every morning to secure shade. Too crowded for my liking on busy season. Despite the large increase in population in the second week, I’d recommend! It’s still a cool vibe, we were a multigenerational family, 5 of us ranging from 74 to 13 and there is something for everyone! Loved the daily aerobics!
El hotel siempre lucía limpio, las camas son muy cómodas, de las mejores que he visto luego de muchos años de viaje. El desayuno muy variado, y con poco tiempo de espera. Los restaurantes eran variados y de buena calidad. Hubo shows gratuitos y variada entretención.
Gostei do banheiro e dos shows. As crianças amaram tudo!
What a wonderful and active experience by the pool with Otto, the water aerobics instructor!
Otto and Axel provided great entertainment at the Azul pool! Great volleyball, bead art, bingo and hamster wheel! Will be back!
I like the food lobbies in my room How do you spell? Chino from the entertainment is the best. Ovi and Luna gavy it just all of them are the best

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
7/10Mixed signals: some guests reported clean rooms and well-kept pools, while others reported leaking ceilings and an occasional sewage smell — overall slightly below top-tier cleanliness.
Service
10/10Strong positive sentiment overall: multiple guests named and praised specific staff (butlers, pool entertainers, bartenders) for going above and beyond, though one review noted inconsistent concierge helpfulness.
Location
8/10Generally convenient resort setting with many on-site activities; some guests noted the beach is small and lacks naturalness which slightly reduces location appeal.
Room Quality
7.5/10Rooms are reported as large and comfortable by some, but several guests mentioned outdated features, poor soundproofing, tubs that feel unnecessary, and maintenance issues — a mid-range score reflects that mix.
Amenities
10/10Highly praised: extensive entertainment (shows, pool activities), kids facilities, many pools and restaurants; some paid extras exist but overall amenities are a major strength.
Value for Money
6.5/10Noted weaknesses: guests called out overpriced shops, extra fees (bowling, arcade card, socks), and perceived poor value in some services — value is a clear pain point.
Food and Beverage
9/10Mostly positive: several favorite restaurants and consistently good dining experiences were mentioned, though a few guests reported limited menu items and room service inconsistency.
Overall Experience
10/10Overall very positive: many returning guests, enthusiastic praise for entertainment and staff, and frequent statements of 'would return' or 'recommend', yielding a high overall experience rating.
