I love this hotel. I love the location it’s close to shopping area and lots of restaurants not to far from the college. And the room was huge sheets clean and the complimentary breakfast is to die for. I love that my room was far from the pool. This is like my 5th time staying at this hotel and it has never disappointed me

Room was clean and staff were pleasant. Breakfast was great. My only complaint was lack of towels and bedding. We booked a room for 6 and confirmed that the room slept that number at check in. I've learned to ask if there are enough towels provided in the room because there never are. The couch had a twin trundle bed. There was one set of bedding for the trundle but not a set for whoever was supposed to sleep on the couch, which apparently was the other "bed." We returned to the lobby and requested another set of bedding. The staff were unable to locate a pillow or blanket, but offered a of sheets. It took 2 more days to get a pillow. When the room was cleaned 2 days later, we were left with only 3 towels again. We also went to the pool twice and had to wait on towels for that both times.

We had an incredible stay. The room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and we particularly enjoyed Mrs. Shirley at breakfast . She was incredibly kind and welcoming.

The hotel overall, is decent but getting a little rundown. Some carpet needs to be replaced, the inside of the elevator doors have foul language scratched into them, peeling paint. Little things here and there that a Marriot hotel should take care of. I was there with my daughter for a softball tournament and needed to get breakfast on the way out one morning. Breakfast time was 7am, and when I tell you, you cannot get anything before that time, I mean it. Also, there was some kind of youth group or young men’s team or something there at the same time and they screamed through the halls, destroyed property, made disgusting messes everywhere until 3/3:30 in the morning. One door was completely covered in ketchup and soda. Not really the hotels fault but security should have gotten that under control. There’s no way other people didn’t complain or hear that nonsense.

We stopped by on our way home south to Miami. We had a wonderful experience here. Staff was extremely friendly, rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable. Highly recommended!

The rooms are clean but outdated, the A/C was running loud like a generator waking us up at night. The compensating factor was the EXCEPTIONAL service provided by OPRAH from the front desk, and AUDREA & RASHONDA from the kitchen. Oprah went out of her way to accommodate my request for early check in, super friendly and professional! Audrea and Rashonda were super nice, hospitable, making sure that everyone was having the best breakfast experience - the food was very good too! They turned an unpleasant experience into a memorable one. THANK YOU for your exemplary service!

This hotel was not good. While traveling in a family vacation we stopped in. Upon checking into our room it was dirty and the entire 4th floor smelled like weed. After about an hour working with the front desk I was finally moved. The hotel was virtually empty. Then I stopped by the gym which looks large and nice in the photos. Not so much. It is very small, old equipment and dirty. So I went to bed. The next morning the breakfast was the worst I have had at a Marriott. Cold eggs and coffee was literally hot water. I have stayed at a lot of Marriotts and been in a SpingHill Suites three times last month. I would never stay here again.

We always stay here when visiting our daughter. It’s always a great experience. I wanted to give a shout out to Audrea and Zuma for a wonder breakfast experience! The food was awesome. The eggs, bacon, pancakes were delicious. And we absolutely love the avocados for our avocado toast. Audrea was the perfect breakfast host.

Excellent customer service! I felt genuinely appreciated from start to finish. The complimentary amenities, including free popcorn and bottled water, were a great touch. Highly recommend this place for the outstanding service and welcoming experience!

Location was perfect, staff were amazing, rooms need updating. Carpet really old and smelled bad, water did not drain well from the tub, wifi and TV did not work at all. But we got what we paid for.

Hotel is very convenient right off I-75, rooms are clean and big breakfast is great and changes every day. But what makes the stay a five star rating is Shirley, the breakfast attendant who hosts everyone personally as if this was her house. She will meet everyone and go above and beyond to make sure you feel at home. SHIRLEY = PRICELESS

Location was great, hotel was dated with maintenance that needed fixing, but the staff made up for it with their personalized and friendly service. Laura, Shirley, and more were outstanding and dedicated to making sure we were happy.

UPDATE (June 2026): Following my escalation to the Marriott Corporate Executive Office, the Corporate Liaison team intervened immediately. The General Manager of this property formally apologized for the hostile communication and the billing error. To restore my confidence as a Titanium Elite member corporate has added some Marriott Bonvoy points to my account. While the initial experience and false accusation by the property staff were unacceptable, Marriott Corporate proved they value their loyal guests by making things right. Original Review: Avoid this property. I am a Marriott Titanium Elite member (75+ nights/year) and was travelling with my 85-year-old mother. Both of us are lifelong non-smokers. Five hours after checking out with a paper receipt showing a $0 balance, this hotel slapped an unauthorized "smoking fee" on my Visa card, falsely accusing us of smoking marijuana in the room. I have definitive, timestamped proof of check-in at a completely different hotel 150 km away at the time they claim this occurred. When I called to calmly resolve the billing error, the hotel staff was incredibly rude and hung up on me. I filed a formal credit card dispute, and Visa legally investigated and ruled entirely in my favor, permanently reversing the funds. Despite a global banking network proving their charge was unauthorized, the local property's "internal investigation" stubbornly refused to admit fault. Worse, Marriott Corporate has ignored this case for two months. Complete breach of brand standards and horrific treatment of a loyal customer.omer.

Did not have the opportunity to even stay due to them over booking and not accommodating my confirmed reservations.

The staff was not helpful in their mistake and told me there was nothing they could do. I would have to locate another hotel. With such short noticed and the event going on all hotels were sold out or triple the price of what I was supposed to pay with Spring Hill. I book my hotel October of 2025, 7 months in advance and not one time was I told they overbooked and could not accommodate my reservations that I have a confirmation number for and made payment.

Very clean spacious room, not far from U of F campus for graduation ceremonies. Staff was super, especially Ms Red, she was amazing. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in Gainesville.

We were in town for one night for my son’s AAU basketball tournament. The staff was extremely accommodating as we needed 2 rooms on the same floor. At breakfast in the morning, I met the breakfast hostess Shirley. Shirley was amazing!! She welcomed us, shared that she had been with company for 14 years and to please let her know if we needed anything. I watched her engage and welcome several customers as she managed breakfast. I watched as people instantly connected with her and would bring their kids over to meet her. I’ll be back to see Shirley!! We usually stay at Indigo but next time we will come here for sure!! This is the absolute best hotel in town! I would give 10+ stars if I could. The customer service, kindness and caring of all the employees is just wonderful. I especially got the chance to interact with Millie, Laura, Audrea and Duma and they all went above and beyond to help me to feel at home. The breakfast is one of the best ones I’ve seen served at any hotel in Gainesville. The selections are perfect for any taste and there’s truly something for everyone. Thank you so much for such a beautiful stay. I will definitely be coming back to book only to here when I travel to Gainesville in the future.

Stayed 3 nights at the property for the surgery of a family at UF Health Cardiac and Vascular Hospital. The property was well located near plenty of restaurants and retail. It was very easy to get to the hospital. Comfortable and quiet rooms. The electric outlets near the bed need to replaced so you can charge your electronic devices.

Nicely remodeled hotel. Great breakfast choices. Bag of frozen ice for your coolers offered at checkout. Easy access to any restaurant of your choosing nearby. Only concern did see two tents in the woods behind the hotel. Look liked homeless? But felt safe in the hotel.

Oprah at the front desk was awesome. She was cheerful and greeted us with a smile. She had read the special requests we entered when checking in online and had selected a room that met our needs. The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked great! Breakfast had a nice assortment of options. The only thing that could have been better were the eggs. Check out the next morning was smooth and Oprah still had a smile!

One of the best staffs we have had at Marriott. Great job from front desk to the individuals working the breakfast area! travel a lot with Marriott and staff was better than I find at Larger 5 star hotels! Overall wonderful engagement would definitely stay again!!

Enjoyed the experience. Was promptly met at the counter for check-in. Was recognized as being a Marriott award member and offered a goodie bag. The room was very spacious, the bed and sofa were both comfortable. It came with mini refrigerator. Breakfast in the morning was good. Overall a good experience and we will be staying there again when we visit Gainesville.

April and Ms. Shirley was amazing. From check out and offering food recommendations April was so helpful and polite. Ms. Shirley was great keeping the breakfast going. Iliana was also helpful during our stay.

Place was disgusting. Holes in carpet in room. Bugs in the air conditioner. Stains in the bed sheets. Mold smell in the room.

Breakfast was amazing! Red and Shirley took care of us every morning. We got great sleep, and the bathroom was so clean with a hot high powered shower. We were located in the center of everything, and spoiled for choice of things to do and places to eat. The hotel staff were all amazing, friendly, and kind.

I was in Gainesville to visit my UF student and had a really good experience. The spaces were clean and well kept. I had the impression that the hotel had not had a remodel or refresh for some time but still thought it was very well kept. The suite rooms were a nice size and I felt like I would have had plenty of space even if I had been traveling with the rest of my family (it was just me this visit). I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet team, front desk staff and housekeepers that I interacted with were all upbeat and welcoming.

Springhill Suites provided a comfortable, spacious room for our 1 night stay. It featured a small living area & kitchenette with separate sleeping area. Check in was friendly, quick & efficient. The free breakfast had multiple choices of food, drink and condiments to satisfy varied tastes. The highlight of our breakfast experience was Ms. Red, the breakfast attendant, who went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. She was pleasant and cordial & happy to please. She worked non-stop to keep up with the demands of the large morning crowd with a smile on her face!

At such a late hour, she took the time to help us find just the right room, and her kindness made a genuine difference after a long evening. We also had the pleasure of meeting one of your engineers (I regret that I did not catch her name), who promptly assisted us with a dead door battery. She was professional, efficient, and gracious—an excellent representative of your team. Thanks to their efforts, we enjoyed a truly restful night’s sleep with no issues at all—something we greatly appreciated after the night we had experienced. In the morning, we took advantage of your breakfast offerings. I will admit that I am not typically enthusiastic about “hotel food,” but I was more than pleasantly surprised! The breakfast was delicious, thoughtfully presented, and exceeded expectations. Sonya was kind enough to share details about the offerings—particularly the avocados, which were a brilliant addition to the breakfast bar, as well as the Belgian waffles with their unexpected sweetness. Both were standout touches. Your restaurant hospitality staff added an extra layer of warmth to the experience, engaging guests with friendly conversation and offering well wishes for safe travels—especially appreciated by those of us heading out into the cold. That level of genuine hospitality is not overlooked. SpringHill Suites Gainesville is now our new halfway stop when traveling to visit our children, and we very much look forward to returning.
