Breakfast was great, spa is amazing (5 differents saunas!). Room was located on the first floor but very clean and comfortable.
Our bedroom was right above the "Crazy Pizza" restaurant with some pretty loud music for two to three hours before 10 PM.
Tutto perfetto
E’ difficile trovare un difetto.
Location is slightly out of St Moritz center. The bus stop is nearby and buses run frequently. The hotel does have a shuttle car but driver not always available. However we were collected at the train station and taken back with prior arrangement. The room was small nicely decorated and comfortable bed and pillows. There was no air conditioning on the hottest of days. The windowsl are small and we could not see much.We did ask for a fan which was brought promptly and did help However it was like an eaves type ceiling and my husband bumped his head on this….no injury but annoying. Bathroom beautiful with separate bath and shower. Breakfast good Food prices were very very expensive even by Swiss standards 69 Swiss francs for a burger?….. Little things were missing for us like no iced water at reception in really hot weather.Overall this is a beautiful hotel but be prepared to pay top dollar for a small room with little outlook and ridiculous prices for food

We recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Rachele, the staff member who greeted us on arrival was also kind enough to give us a double upgrade! So our stay got off to an incredible start! The room allotted to us was sensational with marvellous park views. Thank you Rachelle!! The overall atmosphere of the hotel is a wonderful example of a Belle Epoque palace hotel, with still enough original features remaining to lend credibility, but also sympathetic renovations and additions that brings the hotel well and truly into the 21st century to accommodate even the most fastidious guest. We absolutely loved the swimming pool and sauna facilities, using them both days. There is an indoor pool with is heated to 29 degrees and an outdoor pool which is about 32 degrees (from memory) There are multiple saunas and a hammam, We tried all of them! The lobby bar and the "secret bar" were both fantastic and we really appreciated Eduardo who is an extremely charismatic chap who is utterly professional, yet also extremely engaging. We watched world cup football in the secret bar and it was a wonderful experience, Breakfast was incredible as befitting the stunning breakfast hall/restaurant it was held in. Incredible variety of breakfast choices and simply a stunning room in which to appreciate the genius of our forebears who insisted on this level of luxury. We were greatly impressed by Marina who is an ever helpful and smiling face at breakfast. The young omelette chef Tomas was also always smiling, loving his vocation and making us smile too with his enthusiasm. Then there was Paola who seemed to always be on duty. At one point she was in the bar area in the evening making sure we were comfortable, and then the next morning she was there checking to ensure everything was to our liking at breakfast. Does she ever rest? It was with some sadness that our two nights came to an end and we had to check out. It was at this point that we met the General Manager, the charismatic Konstantin Zeuke, who was positively charming and eager to know about our stay, how they could improve and where our trip would take us. A lovely, personal touch to end our stay. Do we have any regrets regarding the Grand Hotel Des Bains? Only that two nights is not enough! Next time we shall stay four nights to properly appreciate all that it has to offer!
The property is beautiful. The spa facilities and restaurants are all exceptional. Our room was very comfortable, quite spacious, clean, well-cared for and had fantastic views. The location is great as the gondola is just a short walk away. Most importantly, the service is impeccable. From the breakfast servers to the other restaurants, the ski shop, the valets and everywhere else, everyone we interacted with was very friendly, personable and attentive, not a single exception. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every moment. Many thanks to everyone at the hotel for making it so.
Excellent location, very close to the ski lift. The breakfast was the best that I have seen in 5* hotels. The staff very polite and friendly.
The cleaning was far from expected from this type of hotel. In the bathrobe I found a pair of lady underwear that belonged probably to another guest - it was absolutely gross. The hotel sent flowers to the room to make up for this incovenience. In another day, the cleaning lady added a new face cream next to mine in the bathroom - guess what? That didnt belonged to me either. The double bed was composed by two single-bed matresses. Needles to say that in order to sleep hugged, we had to go either on my side of the bed, either on his side of the bed - it was impossible to stay in the middle due to the discomfort of the edges of the small mattresses. Needless to say that the hotel is very old : this is beautiful, and it makes part of the story and history; but this doesnt mean that inside you dont make any adjustments to improve it. Smelled old, looked old, felt old. And not in the royal way. Overall, it was a nice experience, but when you book a hotel with such history and prestige, you cannot have these kind of errors. And if still happens, they definitely should have absolute care of those guests, in order to isolate the incidents and to keep out of bad reviews. Kempinski St. Moritz did not worth the hype or the money for these 4* conditions.
fantastic hotel, everything about it is 10/10. Piano playing at breakfast, great food, amazing service.
Kempinski Exterior is gorgeous and the lobby is beautiful. Hotel is a bit outdated when it comes to the rooms. Prior to my arrival, I stayed in Zurich at the Dolder Grand for $1500 per night it was 10/10. Kempinski is 7/10. Did not meet my expectations. I could barely move around in the tiny room. I was not impressed. Very disappointed and asked for a refund $8,600 and it was denied.
Everything
Nothing
The staff of the hotel is very nice. The hotel also provide free car to send guest to nearby places.
We used the Kempinski in St. Moritz as our home base for the Milano-Cortina 2026 events in Livigno. Olympic Logistics: Staying in St. Moritz provided a luxurious and relatively convenient gateway to the snowboarding and freestyle skiing venues in Livigno. The concierge was an absolute lifesaver. They were incredibly helpful with our travel arrangements between Switzerland and Italy and secured fantastic restaurant reservations for us. Our room was excellent—well-maintained and sized appropriately, providing a comfortable space to recharge between trips to the Olympic venues. Alpine luxury, this hotel is a perfect choice. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!
While our stay at the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski had many highlights, there were a few disappointments regarding the availability of on-site amenities during the early week. Limited Openings: We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday, only to find that several of the hotel’s premier venues—including the Beluga Igloo Bar and Billionaire—were closed. Missed Experiences: Not being able to access these specific spots was a letdown, as they were a big part of the draw for us. Lesson Learned: In hindsight, if I had realized these facilities would be shuttered during our stay, I might have opted to stay directly in Livigno instead to be closer to the Olympic action. Pro Tip: This may have been a scheduling oversight on my part rather than a fault of the hotel, but I highly recommend checking the operating days for their bars and clubs before booking if those are a priority for your trip!
A beautiful hotel with an amazing gym and spa, right at the base of the ski mountain and a short walk to town. Great service, well-appointed rooms, and a terrific breakfast. On-site ski rental and storage. It is quite expensive - $35 for a cocktail - but everything in St. Moritz is. I loved the location - close enough to the center that you can walk it, but far enough away that it is quiet. And the gondola is right across the street.
We had the most wonderful group stay at Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains — truly an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. A very special thank you to Petra, Jasmine, and Rachid for your exceptional professionalism, warmth, and genuine friendship throughout our stay. You made everything seamless, elegant, and so welcoming. We are deeply grateful for the care and attention you showed our group — it made all the difference. We look forward to returning very soon
I visited the Cow Shed Spa for a treatment. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional. My beautician listened to what I said and treated me with a lot of respect. I will definitely book again soon for another treatment.
I had the pleasure of being a guest of Grand Hotel Kempinski St. Moritz and I am pleased with my stay there. Everything definitely exceeded my expectations. The Signal lift is within walking distance, which was important for me and my friends. The SPA area in the hotel is excellent for recovery after a long day on the slopes. Rooms are perfect size and clean and the beds are very comfortable. Regarding the food in the hotel - I definitely give it 5 stars. The breakfast is extremely rich and the piano accompaniment in the morning is gorgeous. I can also recommend all the restaurants in the hotel - each of them different, with delicious food and nice atmosphere. Dinner at Neora restaurant is definitely a must, the pizza at Crazy Pizza restaurant is really worth it. The signature cocktails in the lobby bar are perfectly balanced and delicious, and the singers create a very pleasant mood. For some fun and entertainment program - Billionaire is perfect! I visited the hotel with a group of friends, we are all impressed with our stay there.
Me and my boyfriend went skiing in St Moritz, and we booked the Grand Hotel Des Bains Kempinski as our hotel for our 4-day skiing trip, and I must say it was absolutely amazing. I was sad to leave the place. I mean, the hotel as a concept is already amazing.. its in a convenient location, it's near the slopes, it has multiple dining options, and the food is amazing, to say the least. The atmosphere was great too, there’s live music in the bar most nights of the week and it's chill but classy at the same time. The staff were super professional and nice always willing to help you with anything you need. The breakfasts was honestly one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. Incredible room and the view is even more amazing. They’ve got a whole range of stuff like a gym, sauna, spa, pool etc. But I didn’t get to try the sauna as I was a bit embarrassed lol. But all in all, it was an amazing trip. Will definitely stay there again if i get the chance.
The idea of staying at another Kempinski, this time in St. Moritz, really excited us both. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the service was generally excellent. We had great communication with the concierge before arriving, and the complimentary shuttle service worked perfectly — meeting us at the railway station and driving us wherever we wanted to go. Our room was spacious, well stocked, and lacked for nothing. There is also a basement area for skiers to store and prepare their equipment — we weren’t skiing, but staff were happy to explain how everything worked if asked. Now for the downside. If money is no object, you can stop reading and simply enjoy the hotel. While we can afford what the hotel offers, the prices were stupidly expensive, even by Swiss standards, so we chose carefully out of principle. On our first night we ate at the Neora “Greek” restaurant. I have no idea what they were trying to achieve, but aside from the hugely inflated prices, Greek it was not. The tzatziki was the worst I have ever tasted, and many traditional Greek dishes were missing — where were the gyros, souvlaki (although there was one on the menu but chicken), kleftiko, Stifado? And in what world does anyone pay CHF 90 (around £90) for Garides Saganaki (red prawns) as a starter? The rest of the menu was equally exorbitant. Another issue was the constant, awkward expectation of tips. Every time a member of staff did anything, there was a pause that made it clear a tip was expected. We only tip when we feel it’s deserved — for example, we gave our driver £20 when we left because he genuinely went above and beyond — but this led to many uncomfortable moments during our stay. This atmosphere spoiled the experience somewhat and made us feel that this hotel perhaps just isn’t for us. The saving grace was the absolutely superb breakfast, which had everything you could possibly wish for, served on beautiful table linen. That said, even here the service felt over-the-top — the moment a second set of cutlery was placed on the plate, it was whisked away. In summary, while the hotel is undeniably beautiful, the pretentious, pompous atmosphere, the excessive prices, the overbearing service, and the expectation of tips mean that, for us, this hotel is not the right fit.
First time in Switzerland for my wife and I, it set an incredibly high standard for the rest of the trip 😅😅 Where do I start? SERVICE - TOP NOTCH. 💯 Extremely friendly, approachable and accommodating staff in all areas from concierge, restaurants and spa/pool. Breakfast buffet was absolutely divine. Buffet, omelette station, a la carte, whatever you want. AMENITIES - WHAT DONT THEY HAVE? 🌟🌟🌟 Stunning double pool area and spas, with services on top to relax from a day on the piste. Transport to the St Moritz Dorf and back during the day on schedules. Can organise ski passes and other services but best to book in advance if you need lessons. Restaurant offering is vast and an excellent set of lounge areas to wind down with a drink of your choice or a lighter dinner. PS - we were the very first customers of Neora (new Greek restaurant in hotel) and it was an amazing experience. LUXURY - EVERYWHERE 🏛️❄️🪙 Look anywhere, its luxe in any direction. Plenty of room space, great views from your window and a cosy stay. The hotel itself from the outside is a wonder!
Everything was excellent. You are welcomed by a team that leaves no room for even the slightest dissatisfaction. A truly outstanding, friendly, and courteous staff who consistently go above and beyond to ensure their guests are happy at all times.
The only small drawback I could mention is that the rooms could benefit from a bit more natural daylight.🥲
Staff, location, rooms are great highly recommend
Nothing
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in - and we have stayed in many 5* and highly-rated hotels. It is beautiful with amazing views, and very efficient service - as you would expect, but do not always get. The real USP though is the staff. Every single one was charming, friendly and helpful. Special mention goes to Tobias who checked us in and then drove us to the station for our onward journey. Our driver the previous day actually took the trouble to bring the Maybach to collect us from our trip - because my husband had expressed great enthusiasm when he saw the car. It was such a kind gesture and much appreciated. We also enjoyed included access to cable cars and funicular. Honestly can't fault - we are now saving up to return! (Swiss prices - eek!)
This hotel is so beautiful and the people make it extra special. We are from NYC and came here via Italy, and I injured my back during my travels. Everyone including the spa staff helped me get back on my feet and Simmons, the concierge helped arrange an ER visit ( which by itself was very good) . They all checked on me repeatedly. It was such warm Engadin valley hospitality. Food was great and the room was very well designed and spacious, and we enjoyed the pool and spa as well. They had recommendations for local activities even before we arrived. St Moritz is lovely. This was our first visit to the Swiss alps - and we’ll definitely be back, to this hotel as well as to the Swiss alps!
A true 10 out of 10 experience !!
perfekt und lecker
It was unique experience Best off all the manager Alexandros He was very helpful and very kind
A truly excellent hotel. Great rooms with all amenities, delicious food, and high-level service. All the staff were very kind. I recommend it!
An unforgettable experience! The breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious options. Dinner exceeded all expectations – truly out of this world. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help. The spa was spacious and relaxing, and the gym was modern, well-equipped, and accessible around the clock.
It is a bit on the expensive side, but I guess usual guests of this hotel do not really have any problems with the budget.
Beautiful lakeside hotel with excellent service. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and very clean with mountain views. The breakfast was plentiful, very tasty and the staff was very attentive. The spa area is charming and very relaxing after long walks in the mountains. We enjoyed our stay and were very relaxed, we would love to return.
Absolute Luxury. Amazing staff! Excellent location
Very good staff the complimentary pass to go to mountains trains buses
My wife and I stayed at this hotel as part of the Starguest kosher program. The hotel itself was quite a nice building and the rooms were comfortable. The wait staff at the restaurant area were very attentive and helpful. However, our stay included a very negative interaction which shone a very dubious light on the ethics of the management. We had pre-paid for our stay and our meals upon booking. When we arrived we were told that our lunch on Saturday would be an extra charge, and we questioned this. The front desk staff checked into this, and told us that it had been paid for and included after all. On Saturday morning we again checked with the front desk, and were again assured that the meal had been paid for in advance, and we were good to go. Upon checkout a few days later, we were presented with a bill of 300 CHF for the lunch. When we told the manager that we'd been assured it had been paid for in advance, she admitted that "someone" had made a mistake, but that the money was owed. We told her that if we'd known there was an extra charge, we'd not have partaken in the meal. She apologized for the "confusion," and insisted we pay...for the meal that we ate because we'd been told it was paid-for. We later received another verbal apology from another manager, but no concrete action to refund the cost. The hotel admitted that it needs to "work on its communication." No, they need to work on their ethics and acceptance of responsibility. I, unfortunately, can not recommend this hotel, nor the program. What an unfortunate way to end an interaction.
Beautiful hotel . Classy . Super attention to detail. Staff is amazing a big shout out to the amazing concierge’s who helped plan every day of our trip. Room tip - front facing room and request a balcony - the front might be a little nosier but worth the view !
Great stay in an iconic place. The staff are very friendly and helpful, truly going the extra mile.
I am amazed with warm welcome and very much cooperation got from staff quick service best location Allocation of room was done in no time early check in allowed Best chauffeur to drop at train station cities best location Hotel offered us more water bottles too
Pure elegance! You will feel like a king & queen while staying at this hotel. Rooms are sunny & very spacious with Mountain views. Close proximity to the lake where you can hike or walk around. We ate @ hotel restaurant for both dinner & breakfast….food was delicious!
Great staff
Without any shadow of doubt this has to be the WORST "5*" hotel i have ever been too. In this list we can include The Adlon in Berlin, The Shard in London, Tokyo Hotel Station, The Bristol in Paris, Raffles in Singapore, Shangri-La in Kowloon to name just a few. The driver sent to meet us in the station had no identification so we spent 20 minutes wandering around looking for him: good start ! It was proudly announced wee had an upgrade on arrival, our "upgraded" room had a view to the back of the hotel, incidentally a building site as renovations were ongoing and a nice line of 4 individual portable toilets.... God knows what the non up graded room was like, maybe that was why there were so many portable toilets available !!!! Breakfast was nice but the service was wooden as with most of the other staff, wooden, no character whatsoever apart from the concierge. Really this place is not worth the money at all, far better places to go in St. Moritz at similar prices, avoid.
Amazing place and service! Love you guys!
This hotel is huge, out of town (30 mins approx walk) so you are reliant on taxis or the hotel shuttle service which finishes dropping into town at 17:30, not very convenient if you’re going out for dinner. Staff all very friendly, a glass of fizz upon check in was appreciated. We were “upgraded” to a newly refurbished room at the back of the hotel with a poor view (see photo) room was quite small and so was the bathroom, but nicely done. Bed was hard and with no topper was uncomfortable. For over £550 GBP/night I expected better. Breakfast was included & was plentiful with lots of choice. Coffee each morning was lukewarm! We spent one afternoon at the indoor and outdoor pools both of which we had to ourselves and were lovely. The hotel seemed extremely quiet apart from when we went to the bar for nighttime drinks where there were very noisy children. Maybe it’s just me but I think children should not be allowed in the bar after 8 pm? Our first trip to St Moritz and prob our last. We didn’t like the concrete town centre, not sure what all the hype is about! Hotel is good but expensive.
could be better for a brand like this and charges
Amazing restaurants within walking distance. A well organized team for organize ski tours. Excellent hotel staff. The chic lobby bar with a live music.
Baby crib collapsed with our baby in it!!!!!! There had been some spotty service and rudeness here and there but the crib they provided our baby just collapsed in the middle of the night with our baby inside it. Incredibly dangerous and the front office punted the apology to the crew the next morning.
Location great Ski rental shop good and useful Spa was great Restaurants excellent including breakfast Staff friendly Guest services were good
A bit overpriced: hotel and restaurants Tv not smart Room design a bit old Corridors could be redesigned to look warmer
The service and concierge team
We have stayed all over the world the service and exceptional hospitality received was first class from the hotel. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you to all the hotel team for making our trip memorable and especially the concierge team (Kristijan) for helping arrange restaurants during our stay. Best regards Dr Midha
Stay away from the Saison restaurant buffet. We dined at the Kempinski Hotel in St. Moritz on December 25th, expecting a festive Christmas buffet, only to find a Chinese buffet—and quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever had. At $200 per person, the experience was beyond underwhelming: • The food was lukewarm at best and not remotely close to authentic Chinese or Asian cuisine. • We barely ate anything, which speaks for itself. • While the service was good, it couldn’t make up for the poor food quality. • The decor felt outdated and old-fashioned, lacking the elegance expected at this price point. I also prefer staying in St. Moritz Dorf (downtown) for its easy access to dining, shops, and overall atmosphere. Save your money and go elsewhere—unless they’re paying you to eat there.
The hotel always surprises me positively. And it's like that every year when we come back. A very impressive building in a beautiful ambience. Right next to the hotel is a very beautiful cross-country ski run, where they hold World Cup competitions. This year the hotel is also hosting a big show called Billionare. It's a great addition. A very high-quality show with a very good dinner, and all of that in the hotel! The breakfasts are traditionally good, which is especially important to me - there's a lot of different fruits! There's live music in the bar in the evenings, and in general there's good food in the bar during the day. The fitness center is well-equipped, the staff is very friendly. The wellness is top-notch. They also have a cryo sauna, which is a rarity. At minus 120 degrees, the body really regenerates, even if you have tired legs or an injury. It's hard to choose what to praise about the staff, but I can highly recommend Doroteja from reservations, and the general manager Konstantin, and Kristjan and Diego at the concierge, and Elvis at the front door, and Dino... basically everyone at the door is good..... I highly recommend this hotel with charisma!
Everything!!
The whole experience At Kempinski St.Moritz was once again beyond exceptional . We are family with small children and We really love this hotel as our every year holiday destination. A truly 5* experience. Whatever your needs are they make sure to go above and beyond.
Everything was perfect Concierge team very helpful
They should provide English breakfast tea in the room with other tea bags
It is very old style hotel with history! The most attractive thing is good service! The stuff is very hospital, especially the SPA-stuff. In the Kempinski hotel you can also realize the spirit of oncoming Christmas! Thank you so much!
The amenities, the staff, excellent dining options.
Only complaint was the quality of the blankets, they were not a breathable material and the rooms were very hot and dry so sleeping was not pleasant but that will not take away from my review of the hotel.
The suite was new and very clean. Toilet was very small, and the towel heating rack was not working. Room temperature cannot be warmer in winter as there is no heating. The buffet breakfast spread was amazing. The restaurant staff must be commended: Fabio, Nabli & Sebastion at the egg station.
This hotel checks all the boxes to be a solid 5 stars. It’s a beautiful historic building, but feels modern inside. There are lots of staff everywhere and they are extremely attentive and friendly. Every need was met and followed up on. Our travel agent arranged driver was not at the train station, but the hotel had a van there picking up a family. The hotel bellman loaded us up and took us to the hotel. Check in was informative and welcoming down to the Mimosa. The concierge then helped set up some dinners and explained their transportation options to us. These include scheduled trips into town and to the nearby ski resorts. The concierge and bell staff were always attentive. Our deluxe room was beautiful and large. The heated bathroom floor was very nice. We ate lunch in the lobby bar the first night and did room service as well, both experiences and the food were outstanding. The gym is large and well equipped with an extremely helpful attendant. It is in the spa area, but was open 24 hours. There are 2 nice pools. One indoor and one outside which is heated and had lots of surprise features, Look for the buttons. They close at 9 pm. The daily included breakfast was an amazing buffett that also had menu options. You can eat off of both. There are included mimosas. I loved the freshly squeezed OJ. The attached ski shop handled our ski rentals and were also first rate!! I also have to give a shout out to the housekeeping staff. They were all friendly and greeted me walking down the hall every time and our room was immaculate. Finally we had a couples massage in the spa and it was easily in my top 5 ever(we have had over 100 around the world). Try out the Ice bar in the igloo out front. Clearly this hotel is indeed Grand and well managed!!! Thanks for a perfect stay. I reviewed the Italian restaurant separately.
