Glasgow Westerwood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

Overnight stay visiting family was the perfect location for us.Everything was tip top.Would definitely stay again.

No signal for the telly but had my tablet so not a major.

Dinner was expensive and poorly presented. The scallops were undercooked and my lamb was overcooked (despite the table service stating it would be served pink).

Hotel was easy to access. The Pulic Ateas, Loungecand restaurant were very nice and appeared clean. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms were pleasant and well equipped.

The Spa area/pool was in need of a refresh, with some areas looking positively dirty! Food was ok but a few of the dishes we ate were very overcooked.

Had a nice stay at the hotel, lovely lounge and restaurant, buffet breakfast is really good, great selection of food. Bar prices are quite expensive.

I have been staying at this hotel regularly for the past 16 years. The location of the hotel is very central for Glasgow and Edinburgh. The bedroom was very clean and well equipped. Breakfast is excellent. I was kindly upgraded on arrival by the lovely Receptionist Susan. She is so professional and deserves a special mention as she goes out of her way to help guests.

The price, it’s become very expensive to stay at Westerwood. I would like to see a loyalty discount for regular guests.

Got an insect bite on my leg while sleeping in bed, though Staff changed my bedding quickly after reporting this. Balcony doors did not open.

Mooie ruime familiekamer. Grote frisse badkamer. Omdat we de hond mee hadden werd er een tafeltje in de lounge voor ons gedekt voor het ontbijt. Dat was heel vriendelijk.

De hond bleek nog 25 pond te kosten per nacht. Dat was wel prijzig in vergelijking met andere accomodaties. Zwembad was mooi maar de kinderen mochten niet in de whirlpool, sauna of stoombad. Dat was jammer.

Location to travel to Glasgow and Edinburgh and onwards into the Highlands

We had a lovely evening having dinner in The Flemings Restaurant. We enjoyed the sunset at a window seat and chose both vegetarian and meat options. The mushroom starter was delicious and the red pepper pasta was a particularly generous portion, with plenty artichokes. Staff provided excellent service, and we found Murray, Kara and Niamh particularly friendly and efficient. i was particularly pleased to enquire and find they would even make me a decaf coffee for after dinner, which i enjoyed with some sweet treats.

Lovely stay for our “mini moon”! We had the lovely Beth and Archie serve us for dinner at the restaurant and couldn’t have been more accommodating! Went through to the bar after dinner to have the delight of Archie and Ellie keep our drinks going! Pleasure to return to the Westerwood as this is the place we got engaged! Thanks again for having us and going the extra mile x

We had a lovely experience with Kenzie,Archie and Bailey at the bar, we are here for our anniversary and they have made us feel so at home! Just love coming back here the staff are so accommodating!

Beautiful location- quiet and calm , very friendly atmosphere and very supportive staff! Rooms really nice but I suggest bath shower could be improved given it was really hard to use due very tight knob to open / close .. breakfast was really impressive and so the staff were! If I have to again then I would definitely choose this hotel

Amazing Spa Experience at Westerworld. The location is great, close to a retail park and supermarkets. I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the Spa especially the treatment I had with Sharon - she has removed the knots I had in my back and I left the facility feeling refreshed, and relaxed. I would definitely come back again and ask for Sharon.

Hotel was lovely, great pool and facilities, breakfast was lovely with a large choice. Staff were lovely, set in a beautiful location with views of the golf course.

The rooms are looking dated , restaurant menu very limited and the girl on breakfast duty definitely didn’t want to be there I was in a good mood till I saw her.

Wanted a wee quiet time to myself. Booked Spa day at Westerwood. Been loads to hotel but never had a treatment. Arrived at Spa. Given ticket for lunch and headed up to restaurant. Good choice of menu. Back down to Spa/pool reception and given robe and towel. Changed then headed into Spa room. Lovely quiet, relaxing area. Met by ELENA who was doing my shoulder, neck and scalp massage. Total bliss for 25 mins. Elena showed me to relaxation room where I had a herbal tea and chilled for half an hour. Then headed into pool area for swim, jacuzzi, sauna etc. Such a treat! Am I going back.... 🤔 Already booked!!

The location, the car park, the size of the room...

We found this hotel to be poorly maintained. Particularly when it came to cleaning. They give the tops of the tables a quick wipe but don’t clean underneath them at all. The walls and radiators are dirty. The outdoor area isn’t cleaned: tables with cigarette butts (ashtrays not emptied regularly), a broken table left standing to one side, dead leaves and bits of paper not even picked up (we stayed for two days, and nothing had changed). No flowers (not even artificial ones) to decorate the tables, at the very least. The windows are dirty. They haven’t been cleaned at all. Empty bottles left outside (for two days). These are small details, but they’re important for a 4-star hotel... The swimming pool: tiles are missing all over the place; they’ve been patched up with white silicone, which is clearly visible. The floor is dirty, with lots of hair and grime in the corners. Broken steps, broken tiles... Holes in the walls. It’s not at all up to standard for a spa and golf resort. I thought that was a real shame, because it’s really just a matter of cleaning in the end. You can tell when it’s dirty. It needs a thorough clean. That could be sorted out quickly. As for the swimming pool, those little blue tiles are easy to find; the technician could have replaced them properly. Food is budget-price produce. I’ve wasted my money; I regret booking this hotel. I didn’t really enjoy my stay given the state of the swimming pool. I’d also wanted to book a massage, but seeing the state of the hotel, I gave up on the idea. I really regret spending my money. It was for my partner’s birthday.

Stayed at hote and l had a massage and facial by Sharon in the spa . It was a lovely and relaxing treatment I would fully recommend.

Breakfast was lovely. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location for our visit to Falkirk. Family room spacious, beds comfortable and room quiet. Pool area spacious with hot tub, sauna and steam room.

Rooms could do with general maintenance and upkeep, especially the bathroom. Evening meal was quite expensive and not worth the price. Food was nicer on the first night, fresh and tasty. Children's pizza appeared warmed up on the second night.

Absolute wonderful neck shoulder and head massage from Louise . Who had just the right amount of pressure , made me feel really relaxed . And I had a wee facial too which was an added treat from her . Would definitely go back and hopefully have her give my treatments .

Had a lovely treatment with Sharon today, she was lovely and made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. Chelsey at the front desk was also so helpful and lovely. I will definitely be back to the spa!

Advertised as a Spa! Was old fashioned and more like a council run swimming baths, pool area wasn’t nice, pool had missing covers in pool outlets so looked worn and tatty. Sofa bed uncomfortable. No water or tumblers provided in room. Only half a toilet roll provided so had to phone for more. Also reception had no details about reservations and additional extras ordered. Had to have repeated conversations about same with different staff. Then was overcharged and staff unable to deal with it, so spent another half hour trying to check out and get manager to sort final bill.

Thoroughly enjoying Karen’s Aqua Aerobics class at Westerwood . She offers a great workout whilst being thoughtful to the ability of the ladies who attend the class - the oldest being 91!

I visited The Westerwood for a spa day and had such a lovely experience! 🥰 I had a Back, Neck & Shoulder massage with Elena, who was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and really focused on the areas I requested. Honestly, one of the best massages I’ve ever had! Thank you so much, Elena! 💕

I enjoyed a spa experience with a full deep tissue massage & foot massage, Sharon was my therapist, she helped me totally relax & feel at ease, very professional and explained the treatments. The relaxation room atmosphere was clean, relaxing with water or herbal teas. I could sit here and really relax and read my book before having lunch. Would definitely recommend treating yourself here

Convenient location for Stirling castle

The hotel room was very tired, needing things like a new bath panel, the edges of furniture and doors were all worn. Family room meant two kids having to share a sofa bed. We weren't given enough pillows. Breakfast was until ten arrived at 9;50 barely anything left and told nothing else would be added. If breakfast is until ten you should be able to get whatever you want until then. Staff all cleaning up around us. Swimming pool was awful, dirty changing rooms and pool was run down and tatty. Generally disappointing we were glad we were only there for one night

Went for a signature spa day at 37 weeks pregnant and had a wonderful day. Staff were very friendly and my treatment from Sharon was perfect. She was happy to tailor the treatment to suit what would make me most comfortable in pregnancy and recommend products. My skin was glowing! The lunch included was delicious. The pool area was okay. There was baby swim classes on which was cute but noisy and the loungers weren’t the most comfortable. Full pool area could do with being refreshed and cleaned but the water temp was great and the relaxation room with tea and water was a quiet escape that made up for the pool loungers. I spent most of my morning in here and was very relaxed. Overall I a lovely day, fully recommend booking a solo spa day for perfect peace and quiet.

I had a spa day with my mum on the 10th of August, lunch was nice and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and accommodating. I had a treatment done in the spa by Sam who was lovely, explained everything in detail and made me feel comfortable, would definitely recommend her! The pool area itself was a little tired & busy (check times re classes & kids prior to going) but overall for the price of this spa day and everything included I thought it was great value for money.

Lovely overnight stay visiting family. Upgraded room without asking and the breakfast was great. Lily and Beth were really helpful and polite and made for a lovely breakfast experience.

We visited Westerwood for a girlie Afternoon Tea. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend. Abi and Beth were so helpful and friendly!

Restaurant experience very poor, food bland and usually cold. Restaurant staff very inexperienced. We were on a coach trip from East Anglia. Hollandaise sauce swamped every fish dish and you could cut it with a knife and fork. The chef and staff need training. Mushroom Risotto with tarragon consisted of mushy risotto one mushroom and who knows where the tarragon was!!

Great meal and fantastic service! We had the sirloin steak, which was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious, along with an Aperol Spritz. A special mention to Emma, who was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Would definitely recommend and happily return!

Was served by EMMA in the restaurant. Because I am a fussy eater. I asked her if I could have a pizza which wasn't on restaurant menu. And she made it happen. So I am very greatful. Thankyou EMMA. And a thankyou to the chef too

My partner and I had a lovely stay and staff were very helpful with my nut allergy and being coeliac and adjusted dinner to suit, it was delicious! We also had great treatments at the spa, I had a back massage facial by Sam and was very relaxing!

Been to this hotel four times now on spa breaks and thay where all very good except this visit on 3rd off August 2026 as the room cleanliness of the room was not up to standard , blood stains on the pillows and duvet.also our meal was not that good which surprised me as the other visits the meals were great.we said this to the restaurant team leader as my wife did not eat her starter as it was real bad and all we got was ok I found that very rude as it was bad would have not fed it to my dog so all I can say is this visit was very disappointing. I love the Westerwood. I have been to a few spa breaks but always keep coming back to this one. The spa and leisure facilities are great, and the restaurant is lovely and relaxed. I was helped today by Oliver, Abi, Bailey and Lewis, who made me feel right at home.

We’ve had a fab treat and chilled to the max after doing the NC500. Bernadette from Housekeeping was very helpful, such a lovely lady and best wishes for her forthcoming grand daughter. Also worth a mention is Archie from the bar, Ryan and Emilia (Emma P) from the restaurant. Great staff and are assets to Westerwood. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room was well equipped

No receptionist on arrival 15 min wait , no waitress service in bar for drinks or meals .Drinks just plonked on table , poor customer service spa old and tired. Tiles missing over all pools grouting black and mouldy

The hotel is in a good location, with good links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Unfortunately, for a 4* hotel the service was really below standard. On arrival staff made us feel unwelcome, as we queried about early check - in after a long haul overnight flight. We do understand this is not always possible but the front of house staff, really did make us feel as though we were being difficult asking if this was possible. The communication with the hotel prior to our arrival was also poor. My husband used the iron in the room to iron his shirt, which left brown dirt marks all over it meaning he had to go buy a new one just 1 hour before we were leaving for a wedding. When we showed the staff and requested a new iron, they did not apologise or offer any help with the situation. We also requested cutlery to our room one afternoon which never arrived. Overall the customer service was very poor standard, and not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. We would have loved to see staff welcome us with a smile.

Staff overall quite young and in need of training. Couldn’t see any leadership. At breakfast the here were 4 coffee/tea machines and within 19 minutes of opening 2 were closed as no water- poor planning. Not enough hooks in bathroom and shower not that efficient

The spa was filthy, grime built up on door handles etc, my hotel room was dirty, dusty and outdated, physical dust in the air, there were no options at all available for my dietary requirements on the room service menu so I had to go to the restaurant where they informed me there was over an hours wait so I waited til 8.15 to eat anything (the hotel is isolated with nothing near by in a walking distant and don’t cater very well to dietary requirements this should be more clear) in addition to this breakfast is not available as room service this should also be clear when booking. I was a female solo traveller and was put up in the back corner of the hotel away from all the other rooms and a significant walk to reception etc which was disappointing. To add to all this I paid for a 25 minute treatment and received a 15 minute treatment. I chose to come here for a rare, self care night away this is something I have never done for myself since becoming a mum therefore it was supposed to be special and I had planned on having a night relaxing evening in my hotel room, ordering room service for dinner and breakfast before returning home which I could do neither. Had any of this been clearer I would never have come here. I’ve been to many 5 star golf and spa resorts and this does not live up to its “standards”. Not only was it disappointing, unsatisfactory and unclean but when I reported this experience to the hotel staff and emailed a complaint they have been unhelpful and unprofessional, firstly trying to accuse me of lying about the facts that I have stated which is an absolute cheek! after a lot of back and forth they offered to give me a free upgrade if I pay for another nights stay - lol - as if I’m going to spend another £200 out of my own pocket for me to give THEM a chance to rectify this and for me to have a better experience! Would avoid here at all costs.

All the public area seating looks nice but bring a cushion! Spa pool not very big so if you want a decent swim. Ceiling lights terrible as in clogged dust as well as the corners of the floor. Buffet breakfast with paper cups. Small paper thin serviettes, tissues and no real 'nice' soap and creams in room. Rooms are a good size but badly need touched up. Rooms could have been cleaner as had done myself with the tea/coffee tray etc. Fridge not emptied, hence picture of the cheese. Bring your own pillows. Been to better and much cheaper.

The swimming pool area is looking tired and dated. However the fitness suite gets 10 out of 10. The changing facilities were a bit cramped and there is the need for a family changing area separate to female changing.

Great facilities in the hotel. Plenty of parking. Rooms were excellent, beds comfortable and shower was powerful. Restaurants and bars were great food and service was excellent. Amazing views and walks across the golf course and views over the hills. Spa was excellent as were the spa treatments.

very dirty, broken shower, old furniture, hallway like something out of The Shining. More Maze prison than hotel and spa. Ordered 2 x fish and chips and it took 2 hours to receive. It was during World Cup game and in fairness the staff were apologetic, but it was awful quality when it did arrive.

Food for dinner & breakfast was amazing! All the staff were friendly and really helpful & attentive. The location is perfect and the room was a great size with great facilities.

The room was a little hot but turned the towel off and opened the window wide and that helped. There were things floating about in the jacuzzi but apart from that everything else was unbelievable.

The resort was exactly what I needed for a little getaway. The atmosphere was serene, service was impeccable. The treatment I got at the spa was amazing thanks to Sharon. She was so nice and gentle. I will definitely be coming back. The only thing I struggled with was the dinner options. I wish the options were varied to satisfy different tastes buds . Overall, it was a great experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Westerwood. Every staff member we interacted with were professional and welcoming and friendly at reception, in the restaurant and pool area . The pool was an excellent place to unwind in after a long drive in the warm heat. the facilities were clean and staff helpful. the hot tub has a nice view of the hills The food in the restaurant was excellent ambience was great and I would highly recommend the mint and pea soup as a starter. I had steak both nights and it was melt in the mouth and cooked perfectly to my order. What made our meals extra special were the attentive staff and great service in the restaurant. The room was lovely Brilliant location for our visit to Stirling and Falkirk. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to anyone for a lovely stay

Had a fantastic stay, booked last minute to celebrate my birthday. First time staying at hotel. Our room was massive family room with 2 huge double beds. Big tv, mini bar and tea/coffee machine. Check in was smooth. Pool and spa facilities are modern and relaxing. Comfortable and cosy lounge and bar. Restaurant modern. We didn’t eat in restaurant, we went into town for dinner. Breakfast was superb!!! Vast choice of hot and cold buffet, pastries and drinks. Special mention - Joanne, Emma and Luke who all looked after us at breakfast. All staff are friendly and super helpful.

Lovely relaxing last minute overnight stay. Nice surroundings, great food from bar menu. Best of all was the wonderful spa experience and massage by Kendal. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend it.

Good location with calm atmosphere. We had the Deluxe King room which was clean and spacious. Value for money as we had the summer break offer, which included the use of the spa facilities. Good food with beautiful views from the conservatory restaurant. My only criticism is that they did not have hash browns for breakfast. Overall, a lovely overnight stay.
