Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Stayed in Maldron hotel in Aranmore on the 22nd of August, visiting family. Super location and fabulous hotel. Welcomed at reception by the fabulous Elisha, who was super friendly and so accommodating. Kids club fantastic and my two boys aged 11 and 12 throughly enjoyed their time at the Maldron. Breakfast was fantastic along with great pool facilities. Would highly recommend this hotel

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026It's a very nice hotel, we booked mainly for the pool and available rooms for a family of 6. Facilities are beautiful and if you are staying in the Galway region it's certainly worth considering.
It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room. Be aware the pool closes to kids at 7pm, we didn't expect it to close that early.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Great big family room two doubles and a single felt comfortable. Great big pool kids loved it and the buffet breakfast was excellent, nothing was an issue for the staff and having it until 11am made it feel so relaxed.
The room had no safe, fridge or air conditioning. Mid 20’s outside but the room temperature got really uncomfortable during the night.

The staff in the swimming pool weren't very welcoming. We were told at the beginning we weren't able to pay for 2 extra kids to then be told we could buy guest passes which is what we wanted to do at the start. We were then told when we were in the pool that the 16 month old baby needed a swim hat (all the other 6 people had hats) and we had to purchase one for €3.30. It didn't even fit him because it was adult size! It felt like they just wanted to give out to us.

La nourriture du restaurant de l’hôtel était plutôt ordinaire (mais le perso vraiment attentionné). Par contre le buffet pour le petit déjeuner était bien , beaucoup de choix et beaucoup de place dans la salle à manger .

No ventilation in the room except an open window and a fan. No airconditioning on a warm day and the room was uncomfortably warm.

The bathroom was so old and dated. The shower over the bath had a shower CURTAIN, I cannot remember the last time I saw a shower curtain in ANY hotel bathroom. Breakfast also left a lot to be desired. There wasn’t a good selection of cereals. They did have some fresh fruit at least. The self service cooked breakfast was very tired looking. The sausages were more like hot dogs.

Unfortunately, there were a group of lads in the room beside us who were desperately loud during the night. Not the hotels fault, only unlucky.
