Lowest toilet ever! I’m tall and it was an issue.

The room is clean and spacious. The hotel provides breakfast. Although the menu is the same everyday during my stay, it is good enough. Having hot oatmeal is a plus.

A minor issue. Giving liquid soap instead of soap bar would be better.

O quarto que fiquei (205) maravilhoso. Ficaria uma semana fácil só aproveitado o quarto. São dois quartos, 03 camas, sala, cozinha e um único banheiro. Em contrapartida o atendimento da funcionária do café achei muito de mal gosto. O café é cedo, das 06:30 às 09:30. Chegamos 08:50 e já não havia quase nada pra comer. Ela não repôs produtos, e quando pedi pão, já que não tinha mais ovos, não tinha batata, não tinha suco, não tinha muffins e tb não tinha pão. Ela me disse que o café já estava para encerrar (09:10). Questionei que estávamos há 20 minutos aguardando alguma reposição. Ela buscou 2 fatias de pão para 8 pessoas que estavam no café. 09:25 começou a recolher e guardar o sucrilhos e os utensílios. Pagamos uma hospedagem com café da manhã e não tinha o que comer.

O hotel em si é pequeno, nada muito bonito, mas os quartos são ótimos. Da nossa janela dava para ver um parque de árvores. Gostei.

Carpet smelled pretty bad.

Breakfast was good. The sausage was my favorite and the waffle machine is always a hit! The mini muffins were a nice treat too. If I didn’t get full, I would’ve grabbed a yogurt too.

The parking situation. Getting here there was plenty of parking but when it was nighttime and we were returning from an event, there were no spots! Glad I got there at the same time as an employee, since he ended up moving his car for us to take his spot. There should be plenty of parking for the people staying and the employees. I wasn’t sure of the availability of street parking, I was also in a city I am not familiar with so wasn’t going to risk parking elsewhere

The parking. We were in town for a funeral and we got back very late from the wake, and although there was a parking spot near our room, it was too narrow for me to park AND exit my vehicle.

I only eat organic foods, so I did not have any breakfast, but my son had breadfast.

Very clean and spacious room, little kitchenette area, lots of lighting. Super comfy bed!

It was straight off the highway and structured like a motel. The parking in the back underneath the building was very tight. I am not sure if I would have felt comfortable walking around there in the middle of the night.

Staff very accommodating and insured my check in after 6pm was secured, Very informative with Dinning out options in the area recommended multiple choices, Breakfast was perfect and in my opinion reason I chose Zen over the other Inns and Hotels in area that in my experience keeps me coming back.

Not a big thing but the Parking area where the small palms are and pavers to cross over to room. The small palms are placed right in center, so if you back to unload you are dealing with a drop down to rock bed and palms poking you. Again it’s not a big problem but is only thing I would say “didn’t like”

Breakfast was extremely basic and exactly the same everyday. I'm not a fan of paper plates for meals so that was disappointing. But I must say the staff were quite friendly and helpful. The accommodation was adequate for purpose but I doubt I would go back.

The walls are a bit thin. TV and conversations from the next room can be heard clear.

The hotel was pleasantly cute and updated in person for an older building. Staff was accommodating and worked with us since we booked with a third party. Fifteen minutes away from Embarcadero and medical offices.

Window was difficult to close, had to use all my strength to shut it. Locks on doors did not seem secure but area seemed safe. Parking spaces tight

The place is great. We stayed in the 2-queen bed room that also had a hall and a kitchenette. Our stay was comfortable.

The only gripe being the poor wifi service in the room, it wasn't enough for a video call.

Very big, clean and nice

Rooms were clean. Location if having to travel to Stanford Medical is a straight shot and can be reached within 15 minutes. Staff is wonderful and accommodating. The breakfast is phenomenal. I would choose to stay here every time we are in the area. There is a Walgreens across the street for snacks or any other needs. Door dash and Uber delivers here. Great donut spot up the street.

My favorite part of the Zen motel is the Zen atmosphere, plants, and garden areas. It is nice that the Zen offers breakfast. It is extremely clean and the location on El Camino near Walgreens and on El Camino is extremely convenient. I have stayed at the Zen twice before. This room in the 300’s was the worst that I’ve had. I’ve always previously loved my room. The walls are thin and there were some noisy guests walking up and down the stairs and visiting loudly from room to room. (I realize this isn’t the fault of the hotel)

I was surprised to have to pay for parking. You expect that to be included in a motel.

The location was very, very good as we needed to attend a conference at Stanford. The hotel is on a busy intersection corner so while noise wasn't an issue, there was a bus stop just outside our window. There is a Walgreens across the street, which is always handy. There were plenty of food options (mostly fast casual, some small restaurants) within a 10 minute walk of the hotel which was great. The room was more like a small efficiency apt that had a living and doing room and small kitchen. All the basics were covered. Everything was clean and orderly. The hotel gym was standard and got the job done. Everything was clean and in good working order. The room had two AC units, one in the bedroom and one in the dining room. We happened to be there during a heatwave (highs in the 90s) so this was a bit of an issue but it would've been an issue anywhere as nobody was prepared for that heat.

The bed (king size) was way too soft. If you have back issues or are over the age of 40, be prepared or stay somewhere else if this is an issue for you. A night or two was bearable but beyond that and your back will hate you.

Ground floor, close to office, breakfast

Poor lighting in dressing area to put makeup on.

Hotel was very clean, amenities were all we needed and the breakfast served had a very good variety of food to satisfy any appetite. Staff were VERY helpful. Good variety of surrounding restaurants.

Beds could have been a little fitmer

The location was fine, easy access to Palo Alto stores and cafes.

The breakfast was okay, but the potatoes seemed like they'd been in a warmer for way too long. Also, no fruit available. When we first arrived, and every time we came back to the room, there was a strong odor, like disinfectant, that made it very unpleasant.
