My stay at The Nest Hotel Palo Alto was extremely disappointing and frustrating. The noise from the neighboring room was so disruptive that I could not properly rest, which defeats the basic purpose of paying for a hotel room. Even worse, when I needed assistance, I was unable to get the support I expected from the front desk. After my stay, the General Manager acknowledged the problem, apologized, and confirmed in writing that I would receive a full refund for the room rate. Despite that clear commitment, the refund has still not been satisfactorily resolved. A guest should not have to spend weeks sending emails, following up, and dealing with Booking.com just to receive a refund that the hotel itself already agreed was appropriate. This experience was unacceptable. Between the excessive noise, lack of assistance when the problem occurred, and the exhausting refund process afterward, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience. A hotel should take responsibility for its guests’ experience and ensure that commitments made to customers are actually carried out.

Loved the aesthetic and all of the staff were very friendly and professional. Enjoyed the courtyard area and firewall. It’s a really pleasant hotel.

The TV was a problem. 3 times staff had to come and try to fix it. Also, the bedside reading lamp and the safe were not operational. There were several long black hairs on the bathroom floor and the bed pillows.

The breakfast and location.

The hotel is falsely advertising online. The actual hotel looks nothing like the photos that are on the website. It's ran down looking. Tons of damage around the property and in the hotel room. No refrigerators. Extremely disappointed. Would have not stayed there if known the truth. As well as the staff take no response ability for the false advertisement blamed it on booking.com. the hotel was over priced for what you actually had.

It’s very quiet even though it’s close to a main street. The water fountain helps cancel out traffic noise!

Entrance and Driveway was a bit tight for a rec van but it made it in.

Clean rooms and well kept grounds.

Nice located, quiet, really clean room, wonderful shower and comfy bed. The breakfast is good and there is a nice table outside where you can enjoy the california weather.

Modern, spotless, superior front desk staff. Cleaning crew excellent, professional demeanor. Loved the beer, frosted mug and bottle opener! Dogs welcome - clean dog relief area well lit, safe.

No fridge or microwave.

I loved the bonfire area and the bed was comfy.

For a hotel that has doors leading out to the parking lot (exterior) the price seemed a bit high.

The room was clean and nicely put together. The water feature and fire feature outside were very nice.

Unfortunately I did not read the fine print about the day and hours for the wine tasting in the lobby. Feedback about the quality of the breakfast was fair. No microwave or refrigerator present in the room.

Staff not friendly.

It was a quaint location. For its location, it was quiet. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. It was amazing how you crammed the breakfast buffet into such a small space. The TV channels that I had access to (Netflix, You Tube, Amazon Prime.

I had to ask for toilet paper. I use wash clothes, which were not available in the room. The coffee maker did not work. When I informed the front desk, the young man working the desk asked, did you put water into it? Did you plug it in? Sorry, but I am not a bumbling idiot. Paying for parking was a surprise.

Good effort at updating an old motel

They charge $10 for parting in an open-air, unfenced, unshaded lot where my car was ransacked. Not kidding Lightning in room was obnoxiously harsh overhead, and with that off, the only other lights available were tiny LED reading lights, plus bathroom lights. We could hear anyone talking anywhere near our room.

Very helpful staff and a clean, quiet room. The option to purchase a glass of wine at check in (and any time) was a lovely welcome!

It is not how it looks in the photos at all. It was definitely a revamped motel and was not worth the price at all. I’m still waiting to see if I’m going to get reimbursed since I found on their website it was almost half the cost of what it showed I’m booking. But it was not worth the price at all as I said, it there was a tiny little refrigerator, no microwave and the bed was extremely uncomfortable.

The property just looks like a revamped motel & you can tell that the inside of the hotel had been remodeled but not very well.

When we checked in we said we only needed two of the three nights. They said call bookings to cancel third night. They still refused to allow a refund to be issued even with all Tha notice.

Frühstück war nicht überragend. Sehr wenig Auswahl. Zumindest einige übliche Produkte sollten vorhanden sein. Eine automatische Kaffeemaschine wäre auch angemessen, damit man eine Auswahl hat.

Good location for what we needed. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

Since there isn’t any carpeting, it was noisy - the people upstairs were very loud… we heard every step they took. Cars coming and going in the parking lot were loud. The thermostat had a mind of its own… was much warmer than we would have liked.

The clerk rude very rude almost was forced to cancel

Its too exposed to the parking lot. I could hear all the foot traffic outside. A barking dog walking by woke us up.

This was our second time staying at the Nest Hotel. The overall facility is nice, and we always enjoy the breakfast. It's too bad it was raining because we enjoy sitting outside by the fire. Also, it was my partner's birthday, and the hotel was kind enough to upgrade our room to a premium king to celebrate his special day. One other benefit is there is adequate parking and it is at no charge.

The room was clean although we found a peanut in the bed and neither of us had any peanuts in the room. Also, the bed is very uncomfortable and soft. I think it should be replaced soon.

Rate and location

TV could not get regular channels. Air/heat was either too warm or cold, could never get it just or close to just right.

Location. It was the cheapest when I was looking. Free parking and breakfast on the information.

No internet that day. The location of the breakfast was crowded. Not enough seats.

Problem calling front desk on the hotel phone. Wifi didn't work. Noise from room above through out the night with intervals. I did mention it to front desk when checked out . Other than that everything was good.

The property was very clean and serene. I loved the waterfall and especially the fire wall.

We had to walk all the way to the lobby to get ice. There should be a machine outside, especially because our room was all the way at the other end of the building.

Was surprised this is actually in my mind a motel (all the doors are accessed from the outside). No joke but people above us I think were either bowling or playing twister in their room. Very thin walls and floors.
