Room still smelling like old

Beautiful hotel. Very nice lobby and nice rooms. But like many a hotel, they seem to focus on visual appeal and service falls by the wayside. Check in and out was fast. But the room service was terrible. Had ants all over the counters, lake flies on the ceiling, the shower drained very slow, I addressed all these issues with the hotel but they never addressed them. Our room was never serviced even though I placed the door tag to request service. The pool and bar were nice. Cafe had good coffee but microwaved food. Not enough fire pits. Restaurant was good not great and the cocktails were garbage. Shame, nice location too.

Parkin was great and close by. Appreciated the free charging.

The resort is quiet, well maintained, clean. Amenities are awesome and staff are all friendly. Great service.

Cute property but room was in need of some updates. Dirty carpet and dusty tv stand that we had to wipe down with sanitizing wipes.

I can’t believe we’ve never stayed here before. It’s very nice and relaxing and the view of the lake was great. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Pet friendly is a plus. The only issue was the tons of mosquitos but that is a lake. Didn’t spend much time outside our room on patio due to the mosquitos but that didn’t ruin our stay!

Service was Amazing, clean rooms , great food

In general the property it’s in the quiet area easy parking we get there an hour earlier but they made us waiting until 4:15 to check in they said the room is not ready. The room there clean the stuff was okay in general nothing special about the place

Clean room beatiful resort

The room smelled dirty, like foot odor. It was noisy at night. The noise came from the upstairs guests. Guests were also smoking and throwing the cigarette butts onto our patio space.

Love the kayak/paddle board, free golf balls, bike rid for kiddos. Restaurant is great . Nice pool. Clean. Pet friendly. Only thing our room had no sofa or extra chair tonsit on with adult and 2 kids Spacious tho.

Every aspect of our stay was excellent..we will be back!

Beautiful place had a great two nights

I absolutely love this hidden gem for a staycation. Very pet friendly, my dog always loves staying in these rooms for some reason. The food offered here is excellent and there is an Aldis close by for your food essentials. Every stay you can hit a bucket of balls and paddleboard and free bike rentals. You are a lovely 20 minute drive to Encinitas, a delightful beach town.

From the moment that we arrived at the hotel we were very pleased with the customer service and the facility. We were celebrated our wedding anniversary and this was the perfect place to make it memorable.

Absolutely amazing front desk agent! She was so pleasant and explained all the benefits of the stay and details of the property. I think her name may have been Bea? Tall woman with blonde hair, being in management you could not ask for a better forward facing representative of your company.

Great property- so much to do onsite that you don’t need to venture out much to have a great time.

So while this place has had an update to the overall grounds/exterior and partial upgrades on interior- it was not super clean. Visible stains on carpets; feeling run down. Ans my biggest complaint at check in was told resort fees were included and at check out had to barter banter with staff - if was removed but I didnt even stay there 12 hours and did not get to use the resort pool/jaccuzzi and bikes or boats. The food also was not great- got dinner at the on property restaurant that was "not affiliated" but inly place to get food and got sick the next day. Place was a cool concept- but needs help.

I can only speak to the one bedroom Cottage I stayed in. I have stayed in this exact room several times over the past 10 years. It is ADA. The shower has changed quite a bit since last time. There is now a shower curtain instead of shower glass that is way too small for this shower. The shower head is on the long part of the shower wall. Needless to say after a shower there is water everywhere , on the floor, drywall, baseboards. I don’t mean a little bit of water . For what you are charging for this room this shower is a disaster. If this is required for ADA the guest should know when booking that you really will not be able to take a shower in this room. It is nearly impossible. Very disappointed and won’t be beck.

The property is great for families! We stayed here because we were attending a wedding nearby. We did not bring our kids but we really wish to come back. The pool area is great. We loved that there’s onsite restaurants and even a coffee shop. Restaurant with lake view was beautiful and the food was delicious. We were welcomed with a welcome drink and I thought that was a such a nice personal touch. Loved that they included kayak, golf range and bikes to use. Will definitely be planning a trip back.

Awesome facility !!

Property was nice but alittle over highly priced for the property in my opinion. My first room was infested with ants and I got bit after sitting in the bed , staff was quick to change me to a 1 bed upgraded suite but then my son had to sleep on the couch which is not my favorite option when booking a room with 2 real beds. The suite home was ok which the bathroom was in our room and it was the worst shower imaginable for a non assessable person . Imagine a large lock room open shower with no door a tiny plastic sheet hanging to while you and only a stable shower head that blasts water across the bathroom and doesn’t sit at an angel to shower anything g higher then your belly button . Now after thinking this was not great experience for the price I paid per night . The hotel tired but it wasn’t a good fix to their ant problem . Probably will not return .

We stayed one night but it was wonderful. Quiet, clean and the two pools are great. They have room service but very expensive but very delicious. Loved having a balcony to watch the boats come around. Would love to stay again!

Fantastic all around

We had a waterfront cottage that was modern and very clean. It had its own driveway for parking, a kitchette, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, dining area and living room with glass slider over looking the water/bay with outdoor patio with fire pit and seating. We golfed at the Exec course and loved it. We will definitely be back.

The place cannot be enjoyed because of all the bugs. There is no way to open the door and enjoy the lake. The room was really dirty

The staff were very friendly, from the resort to the restaurant and the sail boat house staff were all great. I plan on visiting the Lake house more often and love the place. My only concern with the trip was that the carpet in the hallway was dirty from previous stains, the bed was really bad. My back was in severe pain most days I woke up, it felt like metal bars were below the mattress. Other than that I think the place deserves a 5 out of 5 because I love it so much.

The property is beautifully crafted around the lake. The staff are welcoming and make you feel like a family member. They remembered me by my name and went out of their way to be accommodating. House keeping did a great job of taking care of us and the groundsman did a fantastic job of keeping the park and flower beds so beautiful. A big thank you to Waylon who was so friendly and helped us with getting our cottage nice and cool. Thank you to all staff for making our trip fantastic.

The nightly rate of $450-up plus a $48 resort fee plus four other fee's and CA taxes made one nights stay over $632!! This is not the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons. You can't swim in the lake. The rooms are clean and have all you need but small. One coffee shop with $7-$8 coffee? Pontoon boat and kayak rentals was a great ideal! Everyone who works here are the SWEETEST! Two pools great ideal but towel fee silly. Shout out to Audrey at the Pool, she made our visit amazing!! We had 106 people for a wedding, she was wonderful with everyone, all-ages. The local restaurant has good food. Everything in resort shuts down at 9pm. Amalfi restaurant next to resort but very pricey with $48-up entrees. Great place but too expensive for families or people on a budget.

Offers a variety of amenities. Unfortunately my shower would not drain, and some of the outdoor common areas were not the cleanest.

Lakehouse was the cutest most quaint place we’ve ever stayed in San Marcos. We loved the vibe, the pool, the activities and the restaurants.

The view was a bit clouded. The window needed a good cleaning. The young ladies tending bar at the pool were so delightful! Audrey is a special ray of sunshine! Love her!!!!! The grounds were lush, beautiful.

Good property and area around it

Our room upon arrival was dirty. The carpet had not been vacuumed, the side tables were sticky with a ring of something, our coffee maker didn’t work and they never replied to our request to fix it. Stains on the carpet, it just looked and felt dirty . There was a huge event in the area and no parking. We had to park in a residential area and walk to the resort. Would not recommend or stay here again

I always base my score on prize/quality. I am disappointed in the value here. The rooms were very noisy! Especially in the weekend. You here kids running through the hallways and you can almost here the neighbors speak. The room itself was okay, but nothing more then that. We paid 360 dollar per night and for that amount of money I really expect a bit more! I think the houses at the lake might be worth it, but the rooms in the building are not better then motel 6 rooms, only are they 3 times as expensive. At check in we received a card and were told that we can do an hour of free kajaking or paddleboarding. That was a nice bonus I thought, but when we wanted to book our free hour; we were told that only one person (of our family of 3) had the free ride, the others had to pay 20 box each… The pool was nice, that was about the only plus I found. I can only say, don’t expect to much, then it might be okay

It would be nice if the pool water was a little warmer. The pool bar is not open every day. Great place to stay.

All in all, it was great! We never had to leave the resort, so much to do, to enjoy, and the restaurants were great!! Lighting could be improved and some furniture has wear and tear. A microwave in the room would have been nice. The cleaning staff was very accomodating and quick to serve our needs. The shower in our room was fanastic! I highly reccomend the resort and will stay again.

My girlfriend and I had an incredibly relaxing stay at the resort. We loved the pool area, the driving range, and the lake restaurant. The staff was amazinf as well, in particular Collee at the front desk and Audrey at the pool bar. We'll definitely be back for another stay.

It was a good experience staying at the resort for two nights.

The lake, pool and facilities are wonderful, especially for families and wedding parties or reunions.

Everything is perfect everyone is nice. Except for the frontdesk who worked 7/19/around 8pm or 8:30pm. She was rude. To think the guests paid good amount for the good service.at least be nice or answer nicely but we didnt bother to call her out. We wont let her ruin our day.

Everything was very good.

The hotel was clean and offered fun things such as the smores kit and other amenities. It was a little loud staying on the bottom floor so next time I will ask for a top floor and hopefully that will help.

The Lakehouse Resort was absolutely amazing and stunning. I attended for business purposes however I believe it is best suited for couples trying to reconnect and get away. I plan on coming back very soon!

It's a beautiful place but it needs to upgrade the rooms and accessories in the rooms. Bugs outside my patio and I couldn't enjoy the beauty of the outdoors unless I walked away from my room

Decent stay however I would classify this as an upscale motel certainly not a 4 star hotel.

Great resort that has been updated. Seems like a place that would offer happy hour in the lobby. The breakfast choices at the coffee shop were not good. Mostly heat and serve from Costco. The restaurant is not on the grounds. It was a nice 10 -15 min walk. It looks great but was closed because of a water issue.
