We had a great stay. Very impressed with this property and its team: -Clean, and comfortable. -Very friendly and accommodating front desk staff. -Housekeeping worked hard and was very nice. -One of our rooms was upgraded. -Allowed us to have a later checkout. -Breakfast was included. -100% Free parking. (Not common these days.) -About 5 EV chargers I think, and most were available. Best of all, with their code, I charged overnight to 90% - and it was free!

WiFi was very slow and often cut out. Had to use my hotspot. Television set was older and didn't allow me to use my Netflix account that had ads. Channel lineup was not what I'm used to when I've stayed at other Marriott hotels in the area.

The room itself was clean which we appreciated, however, we stayed 3 nights and were told we would get housekeeping every other day. On the day we were supposed to get housekeeping, a housekeeper knocked on our door and asked if we needed anything which I thought was odd since it was the day they were supposed to clean the room. I asked for a couple of towels and let her know we would still like housekeeping which she acknowledged and agreed they would come back in the afternoon. Unfortunately we didn’t end up getting housekeeping once during our stay which was very disappointing. We had to call the front desk for additional towels and toilet paper. We were not happy to return to our room late at night after a long day to find the beds still not made and a pile of dirty towels still on the floor.

From the moment we arrived, what truly set this hotel apart was the incredible staff. Every interaction felt genuine, warm, and thoughtful—not just professional, but sincerely welcoming. It’s rare to encounter a team so consistently attentive and kind, and they made what could have been a routine stay feel genuinely special. The front desk staff greeted me with enthusiasm and efficiency, making check-in seamless while also taking the time to offer personalized recommendations. Throughout my stay, every team member I encountered went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, often anticipating needs before I even had to ask. One of the most fun and memorable touches was the hotel’s delivery robot. Having items brought right to my room by a friendly little robot was such a unique experience—it was efficient, surprisingly quick, and honestly just put a smile on my face every time. It added a modern, playful twist to the stay that made the whole experience even more special. Our toddler thought it was the coolest thing.

Staff was great, beds and pillows very comfortable and breakfast was good.

The Toilet Paper. Absolutely bad. All hotels are using extremely poor quality toilet papers

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Our room was nicer than I expected sometimes pictures don’t always match the room when you get there but it was very clean and nice. The ac worked very well it was sometimes to cold so we had to turn it up which isn’t a bad thing at all better than being hot.

The only thing I didn’t like was our room was right next to the highway so we had a little traffic noise but it wasn’t intolerable.

Stayed here recently. We were very pleased with the hotel's cleanliness and comfort. Our check-in clerk was Gaby, who gave us the best check-in service we've ever had at any Marriott we've stayed in (many of them). She is a credit to the company. We will be staying again this summer, and looking forward to it.

We enjoyed the free breakfast. We liked the leisurely feel of the property. We liked that it was within walking distance of some restaurants.

We were a little surprised that we were not thanked for being gold elite members. Usually we get some kind of a token gift. We had to ask for that and we’re told that usually they don’t give it to members of our status. Every other place we’ve been to, however, did thank us and gave us some kind of a little thing. Other than that, the staff was kind and welcoming.

Honestly, it was very good in my opinion, had a decent gym and jacuzzi, plus hot breakfast. Rooms were ver clean and the beds were comfortable, which surprised me. Also, this hotel is up to date with the look and decor, very modern and most everything looks very new still.

Could use a few more options at breakfast. But honestly not much of anything to complain about.

We had a large group stay here because our kids had a competition nearby. It was an easy in and out location, great proximity to food & freeway access. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a good addition. We will stay here again next year.

My daughter is a student athlete at CSU San Marcos. Like the hotel location to the campus along with the friendly staff. Good breakfast options in morning. Close walking distance to several restaurants.

Room 139s air conditioner seems to be malfunctioning. It only cools, and the ground positioning of the blower was a continuous annoyance. Small issue, but it affected our week long stay.

It had breakfast and was close in relation to where I needed to be the next day, thats all.

I fly to Southern California multiple times a year and always stay at a Fairfield by Marriott. This time I only stayed for 1 night, on the 2nd floor, and there was a gathering area right outside of my room on the first floor. I needed to get some rest after a long trip from the east coast, and my wife and I are winding down for the day, it was a Thursday night. Around 7pm, out of nowhere we heard the loudest most obnoxious yelling and laughing coming from outside our window. We thought it was just something random that would stop, then people would drive by and the yelling and screaming persisted. I recorded a video of just how loud it was, some kind of party that was going on, so I waited a little longer, hoping that it would cease and it did not. The yelling and hooting and hollering persisted, so I went down and asked the staff how long this was going to be going on. She proceeded to tell me that quiet hours start at 11pm, I replied, then you need to move me to the other side of this hotel. The noise eventually quieted down, but for a hotel to allow that to go on without handling it themselves prior to having guest need to come ask if they can move their room because the noise is unbearable, is unacceptable. I won't be staying at this one again

I really liked the sausage links. The scrambled eggs were bland but red salsa helped a lot. Also enjoyed the bold coffee

We stay there for our stay cation. We love the staff and facilities. Our families stay there when visiting also. My grandson loves the robot service. We always get a room near the pool . There breakfast is great. The staff is so accommodating and great personality while always giving you professionalism.

Great option for short drive stay straight off the plane from Europe. Large rooms and competitive price. Nearby pizza restaurant walkable few minutes from hotel.

Friendly helpful staff

Have stayed here numerous times before and had no issues, which is what brings us back continually. This time the beds were rock hard and the shower pressure was painstakingly low. This was the first time we stayed on first floor. Don't know if that made the difference.

On November 30, 2025, at around 7:45 PM, I called Jackie, who was acting as the receptionist at that time. I requested a mobile key via my cell phone, as I had already waited 40 minutes to avoid carrying my physical credit card due to having lost my wallet. Although I still had my passport to verify my identity and had already settled the room charges using my credit card linked to my Marriott Bonvoy account, I expected to proceed directly to my room upon request, given my previous experience with mobile keys. However, despite waiting for 40 minutes, I still had not received access to the mobile key app. When I called the receptionist again, Jackie insisted that she would not send me the mobile key until I checked in with her at the front desk. I questioned her reasoning, asking why I needed to check in if I was requesting a mobile key. She responded that it was necessary to issue a parking pass. I then asked her what would happen if I didn’t need a parking pass, suggesting that I had been dropped off by Uber or Lyft; Jackie maintained that I needed to check in with her regardless. I further inquired why the hotel offered a mobile app on their website if I was being denied access to the mobile key check-in option. Jackie implied that mobile key check-ins were not honored until I checked in with her, which I found to be inaccurate. The hotel’s website does not state that checking in with the receptionist is a requirement to obtain a mobile key. The whole purpose of the mobile key app is to allow customers to bypass interactions with receptionists like Jackie. It seemed that she was creating her own rules in this regard. It is unprofessional for Marriott to promote mobile check-in via its app—screenshots attached—yet have employees like Jackie deny this service at their discretion. If there were an option to rate this experience zero stars, I would have chosen it. This was my first instance of dissatisfaction at this location, despite numerous prior visits for work purposes. I intend to file a formal complaint, as I believe that if a Marriott hotel does not support mobile key check-in, this should be clearly indicated on their website. I expect a full refund of my points and the deposit I made, as Jackie refused to honor their own mobile key app service. Oh she even made a comment saying it didn't matter if I was a Platinum member and that she was sorry if I felt some type of way. I wasn't rude or disrespectful, I was simply going by what services you offer on your Marriott website. I'm not sure why she was so defensive the whole time. I respectfully walked out and asked her to refund me my points. I ended up going to Hilton down the street by Palomar Airport and was able to check in freely on my via Mobile App:) Kevin Cervantes

Location: former stay was very good, hence, return.

Lady friend felt like sheets were not fresh, opted to say nothing. That morning found a foreign sock in between sheets. Needless to say, ruined our 2 day stay. Hotel offered nothing, other than a change of sheets. Duh!
